Transfer mpeg-4 video files to avi

I purchased an innotab and i was wondering if the itunes videos can be changed from mpeg-4 files to avi files

Re How did you get itunes music on the SD card for the innotab? I couldn't figure it out
This is how I did it. I guess they call it a learning lodge as you have to experement to learn how to do it.
I do not know why I am writing this as I am from the age when you bought some thing and it came with instructions. Then they stopped giving instructions. How do they get away with it?
Vtech Innotab add music from a mac.
The format needs to be MP3 so working in iTunes I set the Import to MP3 by going to the iTunes label at the top left  click on it  > Preferences > General preferences tab > half way down the page Import settings > set to Import using MP3. Import the CD
Or Click on the song you want to import from iTunes > advanced >Create MP3 version.
iTunes converts the track.
Set up an empty folder in Finder on the mac then drag the MP3 track to this folder from Itunes.
Arrange the screen so you can see this folder and the iTunes window, drag the MP3 track to the new folder in Finder.
With the  SD to the Innotab connect the Innotab to the mac. Open the Learning Lodge Navigator app it should recognizes the Innotab and who you have set it up for.
In the Innotab Navigator click on the Innotab which then opens.
Click on the File manager folder on the left. This opens a folder with two sides, on the left hand side (the mac)  click the >music tab then browse to the new folder you created in Finder and you should see the track ready there. Select it  and click the arrow to move it to the Innotab side.  When you next open up the innotab it will be on the list under music.
It works for me but I am having a problem with the Innotab staying connected but have not found out what that is yet.
I hope this helps.

  • Problem with MPEG-4 video file in N70

I wanted to transfer MPEG-4 video files from my computer to my N70 phone. I put the files to the same place where others videos are, and when I tried to watch MPEG-4 video it complained that the phone can't repeat it.
I checked from nokia sites that my phone should actually repeat them with RealPlayer, but for some reason i cant watch the video, allthough all my other videos which i've taken with my phone are also MPEG-4. So is there anything i can do??
Sorry for my bad english. Im from Finland and 15 years old, so ...

If I remember well, N70 plays mp4 video without problems. Try resizing during encoding to 176 x 144 and reducing frame rate to 15 frames per second. Also try to keep data rate below 200 kb/s. If you are using MediaCoder do not go with default settings for Nokia N70, they are too optimistic.

  • Quicktime Movie File/ MPEG-4 Video File

how come for some of my video podcasts they are in teh MPEG-4 Video file format, while others are in Quicktime Movie File format?
i was j/w this because i noticed it when i jus recently downloaded new podcasts (it was first time downloading a podcast from iTunes 7.0.2) and i was jus wonderin if there is any way to get it into MPEG-4 Video File....because i already right clicked and went to "convert selection for ipod" but then it says it is already in that format, but it is in Quicktime Movie File....
    any help would be appreciated
    Thanks,
    Brandon

Quicktime files can be MPEG-4 video, and should be
    transferable to your iPod.
If you get info on the video file in question what
    does it say?
when i click get info it says the kind/type is a quicktime movie file.....i was jus mainly wondering why some podcast videos have quicktime video file, while others have the mpeg-4 video file...its almost like and OCD (obssesive complusive disorder) thng for me.....but as long as they can still transfer to the ipod i should be fine....

  • To Decode and play  MPEG-2 Video files with JMF

    Hi ALL,
I amin serious trouble with a problem. I am developing a Simulator, a function of which is to decode MPEG-2 Video files in real time and play it as well.I have got a MPEG-2 Decoder implemented in C from an open source and need to integrate with my Simulator which is writtebn in Java. The integration part I am doing via JNI(Java Native Interface). Now I have a bunch of C files in MPEG-2 decoder which are to be compiled during the Execution of the Java Simulator. Can anybody give some idea about how to call multiple C files from the Java Source through JNI at one go? Another problem I am facing is in calling a single C code from the traditional "HelloWorld" Java Code itself. The problem comes when I am trying to compile the shared library between the C native code and Java Code in my Linux Machine...I am getting the following message:
    /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/2.96/.../../../crt1.0 : In function '_start' :
    /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/2.96/.../../../crt1.0(.text+0x18): undefined reference to 'main'

  • How can I convert mpeg/mpg videos file to a WMV file?

  • I have iMovie '11, and I am unable to access mpeg HD video files that I want to edit.  The files are fine (I can open and watch them using VLC), but I cannot seem to import the files into iMovie. File Import does not work.  Any suggestions??

More detail: I have a bunch of mpeg HD video files that were shot on a SONY HDR-HC3 Handycam camcorder.  I would like to edit these into a single video production.  I can access and view the mpeg files using VLC (Quicktime does not work with them).  However, I seem to be unable to get the mpeg files to interface with iMovie '11 -- I cannot use the File --> Import command, nor can I drag-and-drop them into iMovie.
Is there something anyone might suggest to get this to work?  Or are these files incompatible with iMovie?  If so, I assume I must purchase a different video editing software program (e.g. Adobe Premeir Pro).  Suggestions???
Many thanks in advance for your time and consideration

Yes, I tried that.   The files were ordered by their original numbers as imported from the camera, but I batched them through Phocoshop to downsize all of them into a more manageable file size.   I opened that destination folder from quick time  from where it said select image sequence.   I clicked on the first one and opened it.   The result was a large image with an arrow indicating a movie was ready to go.   When I pressed the arrow, though, I realized it had only imported that one frame so there was no movie.   The files are Jpgs and are about 450 KB each.
To your knowledge are there any links to iMovie tutorials or quick time tutorials that may address this situation?  Maybe there will be one I haven't looked at yet.
        Thanks

  • Album/playlist downloaded from iTunes includes mpeg-4 video file?

I have downloaded from iTunes an album that includes an mpeg-4 video file?  What is the best medium CD or DVD and format for burning the playlist?  Assume it could be played on a CD player (for sound only) or a DVD player.

Handbrake includes a universal setting which makes the video compatible with the iPhone/iPod, Apple TV, and with iTunes on your computer. It also includes an iPhone/iPod compatible setting.

  • Upgrading to iTunes 10.6.0.40 imports MPEG-4 movie files as "QuickTime movie file" not "MPEG-4 Video file"

Recently updated itunes to 10.6 and since then adding any new MPEG-4 Video file itunes is flagging as QuickTime.
This creates an issue since my Apple TV doesn't recognize these types of files in iTunes.
To validate it's the itune upgrade, previous "MPEG-4 Video file" entries added and played on Apple-TV were imported an now show as "QuickTime Video file"
    Thx

This problem has been resolved after the ATV update was received.
The ATV now recognizes the videos marked in itunes as Quick time eventhough they are Mpeg-4 video files.

  • HT4072 can't play video files (mp4, avi, mkv) with 5.1 audio tracks

I have two Macs, one with a mini-optical out and no audio through its mini-displayport, and the other that supports digital audio out through its mini-displayport. On either of my Macs, how can I play video files (mp4, avi, mkv) in 5.1 using Quicktime or iTunes or VLC? I've heard I need Perian. Is this true? If so, how do I configure it on either machine?
Note that when I connect the computer that supports audio through the mini-displayport to my receiver, my home theater receiver detects a PCM audio connection, but the audio I get out of my speakers is still stereo.
Both computers are running Snow Leopard. I haven't had the need to upgrade to Lion yet, but if the answer is that I need Lion do do this, I'd spend the $29.
    Thanks for the help!

This just happened for the first time with an .mkv file I was trying to play. It started fine but then after selecting a menu option in smplayer the video disappeared. It didn't go black, the player just stopped presenting the video. In other words the player switched to audio playback mode only, the window was unable to go into fullscreen or be resized. Smplayer still works with other HD files. Deleting the config directory fixes the problem until I select a menu option, such as, setting the audio to 5.1, then the video portion disappears again.
Does anyone know what is going on here or have any ideas on how to fix this issue?
    Thanks for any help provided.
that's because now mplayer they switch to libavformat demuxer for mkv and ogg and i think is a bug in smplayer because is making some configuration for files in file_settings in which is sets demuxer & co. this switch is confusing smplayer and it should be reported upstream
p.s if you actually select demuxer from smplayer to mkv it would work perfectly

  • MPEG-4 video files won't play in Quicktime

I bought movies on iTunes and I can only watch them on my iPod. I can't view the movies with Quicktime or with iTunes. The movies are MPEG-4 video files. Any suggestions? I can't figure it out.

I solved my problem with MP4 and MOV files not playing on my Windows XP Pro PC.
Short solution: Reinstall latest NVIDIA driver from NVIDIA not Microsoft.
A few days ago, I decided to rebuild my PC from scratch, after deciding to change from Norton to McAfee for performance reasons. I reinstalled Windows XP Pro from the installation disks and performed Microsoft Update to bring it up to current. I then manually installed all optional software and hardware "updates". Installing the optional video driver turned out to be the cause of the problem, but I did not know it then. It was a very obsolete driver - NVidia Corportation – Video – NVIDIA GeForce 3 Ti200 released on July 28, 2003
I downloaded and installed Quicktime with iTunes which installed QuickTime 7.4.1 and iTunes 7.6.0.29. Neither would play MP4 or even MOV files. I got garbled, scrambled, blocks of colored video. Audio would play OK.
A re-install of QuickTime did not help and both products said they were up to date.
A temporary quick-fix was to uncheck DirectX - Enable Direct3D Video accelleration in QuickTime-Edit-Preferences-QuickTime Preferences-Advanced, or select Safe Mode (GDI only).
The permanent fix was to update the video drivers and NOT use the Microsoft supplied update. I went to www.nvidia.com, selected "support" on the taskbar, clicked "download drivers", entered product type=Legacy and GeForce3 Series and Windows XP and clicked Search. That found ForceWare Release 90 version 93.71 dated Nov 2, 2006. It supports a huge number of NVidia cards. I downloaded it and installed it and everything worked after that.
To prevent Microsoft Update from re-installing the Optional Hardware video driver, run Microsoft Update manually (e.g. from IE-Tools-Windows Update) click "Custom", select Optional Hardware, Expand the NVidia Corportation – Video – NVIDIA GeForce 3 Ti200 released on July 28, 2003 and check "Don't show this update again". Then close Microsoft Update. (while you are at it, do the same for the optional audio update. That really messed up my system)
I hope this helps at least a few people. Good luck.

  • Anyway to create an MP3 from a MPEG-4 Video file already in my Itunes?

    Hi,
I am a Windows user and have Itunes ver 8.
I have a video in my ITunes library and want to convert it to MP3 to get the audio only. Is there a way to do that? I have highlighted the song in Itunes
and went to Advanced where I have created an mp3 version from songs I have in my Itunes library, but when I chose Create MP3 version that choice is not highlighted. I can use Advanced -> Creat an IPod or Iphone version but am advised that the video is already in the correct format. If I use File->Show in Windows Explorer it is listed there as a MPEG-4 Video file in properties.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Mickpick

MPEG Streamclip might be able to extract the audio file. I'm not sure, but it's free so there's no penalty for giving it a try.
    Regards.

  • MPEG-4 video file format and IMOVIE.....help!!

I am completely new to IMOVIE and I am trying to import and DVD into it. I used ROXIO CRUNCH to convert a VIDEO_TS folder to use in IMovie. It converted it into a MPEG-4 Video file which is completley pixelated and not viewable. However IMovie did let me import it. What do I need to do?

Handbrake includes a universal setting which makes the video compatible with the iPhone/iPod, Apple TV, and with iTunes on your computer. It also includes an iPhone/iPod compatible setting.

  • Diff between "MPEG-4 Video File" & "MPEG-4 Movie" (PC) ?

iTunes seems to play both video types. I have several dozen of each on my PC. Both are in my iTunes "Movies" folder and all are video.
The "MPEG-4 Video File" icon is the little music note on top of a CD with "MPEG 4" under it.
The "MPEG-4 Movie" icon is a little "Q" in what looks like a film frame with "MPG4" under the Q.
Is there difference in the way iTunes handles either and should I save video files in one mode or the other? Why?
    Thanks!

Handbrake includes a universal setting which makes the video compatible with the iPhone/iPod, Apple TV, and with iTunes on your computer. It also includes an iPhone/iPod compatible setting.

  • MPEG-4 Video File Links

    Hello, all.
I have some MPEG-4 video files linked to buttons on a Dreamweaver (CS3) page -- which I want to come up as QuickTime movies that play on a new page within the site. What they do, however, is DOWNLOAD to the user's hard drive upon clicking the button -- which I DON'T want.
Any suggestions about how to correct this are warmly appreciated.

Unfortunately, that's how video links work.  You link to the file, it downloads to client's temp files and launches in the helper application or default media player.  If client doesn't have QT, some other player will launch or if they don't have the appropriate plug-ins installed for their browser, nothing will happen.
You would be better off converting to Flash Video (FLV) and using progressive download aka pseudo-streaming instead of a direct link to media file.  It's a much nicer user experience because the file need not fully download to begin playing, and Flash media is a heck of a lot smaller in filesize than MPEG-4.   More importantly, Flash media players come pre-installed on almost every new computer these days. QT player does not.

  • Converting MPEG-4 video files to AppleTV

I'm trying to convert an MPEG-4 Video file in iTunes to AppleTV. I have tried various settings when exporting to iTunes. The imported file plays fine in iTunes, but the converted file just gives me audio and a white screen - no picture. The converted file is only about 39MB, when the original MPEG-4 file was about 2G. It appears that the audio portion is converting, but not the video. Can anyone out there tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I think the mystery has been solved. I switched to H.264, and it worked beautifully. Apparently, that's the only format that works. Too bad that neither QuicktimePRO nor iTunes mention this when you attempt to do the conversion to AppleTV...
    Thanks, for the help!
