Transfer music directly from CD to iPod

Hello,
How can I transfer/rip music from my own music CDs to my iPod? Any way to do that directly? Perhaps without iTunes? The thing is that I don't want to have any music files on my computer.
Regz,
D

as far as i know, this might be one of your only options... but i doubt you want to buy this piece of junk.

Sorry no, but if you have synced your iTunes purchases from the iPod to your computer, connect the iPhone. From the iTunes menu bar click File / Transfer Purchases From iPod...
    iOS: Syncing with iTunes
Or, if you are a resident of the U.S., have iTunes 10.3 or later, and iOS 4.3.3, you can re download the music directly to the iPhone.

    Hey mr Zman,
I understand that you want to get your purchased songs from your iPad to your iPod Touch. There are two ways you can do this, either using iCloud or using iTunes. The following document covers both scenarios with detailed steps:

Sorry, kcrail, this is a Community Forum.  All support is done here.  (BTW, posting your phone number in a Public Forum is somewhat akin to writing it on the wall of the bus station.  Never a good idea!)
Since you are running Windows 2000, you most likely have a pretty old version of Windows Media Player.  Easiest thing for you to do would be to puchase a USB Card Reader that supports Micro SD cards, and simply drag and drop your music to the /AUDIO folder on the card.  Put the card back into your phone and you're done!

  • Transfer Music files from 3GEN to 5GEN iPod

I have a 3rd generation iPod I've had for a while. And I was thinking about getting a 5th GEN or whatever might come out in the future, to upgrade.
But I really wanted to know if there is anyway I can transfer my music files from my current iPod onto a new one, if I buy one? I don't want to lose all my music that I bought (which I no longer have on my harddrive b/c of low disk space) and not be able to put it on a new iPod.

You would need to transfer the music on your old iPod back to the computer, and from there use iTunes to transfer it to the new iPod.
    Check out the instructions/suggestions here.
    Music from iPod to computer.
There's also another method. I've successfully tested this across several different Windows PCs.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), there's Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
The above methods may depend on what version of iTunes you are running.

  • Can I transfer any files from a corrupted ipod?

I have a 4th Gen 40gb ipod that appears to be corrupted.I don't want to restore it, cause the music has not been backed up. I tried to transfer the music onto my new computer - old computer passed away and I never backed any of the files - with 3rd party software and was unsuccessful , software says files are corrupted. This falls right in line with the fact that it's been making clicking sounds and has to be reset all the time. So, I just want to know if the music on this ipod is lost forever and ever.

If you want to transfer them directly from the camera then there is the camera connection kit (which has an SD card reader and a cable for connection/transfer from the camera). You can also sync photos via your computer's iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236

  • Is it possible to transfer music/videos from one itunes account to a separate one?  I need to give my music and videos that I bought a grandchild to her for her ipad.

Is it possible to transfer music/videos from my itunes account to a grandchild (she will need her own account)  I bought her music and videos and let her play with my ipod touch.  Now she has an ipad.

No you cannot transfer purchases from one account to another account. Apple does not allow it and never has allowed it.
She can use you Apple ID on the device and switch between her ID and your ID, but that can cause problems at times and can become a bit of a pain.

how can I transfer my playlists from my old ipod to the new one

Export playlists from iOS - http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1113751
A playlist is, of course, just a listing of music tracks, or did you want to copy the music too?  You do not transfer that from iPod to iPod, you synch the iPod to the same library used with the first one.

AAll of your iTunes purchases can be re-downloaded again. Log into iTunes Store, select the Purchases tab for Apps, Music, etc.
if you've been syncing your old iPod with iTunes, you can restore everything to your new iPod from the old backup.
