How to transfer music from iPad to MacBook Pro?
I have recently purchased a MacBook Pro and would like to copy the music library from my ipad onto the MacBook. Can anyone advise me please on how to go about it, as I struggle. Many thanks.
There are two ways:.
1. A Sync will do it. If it does not work for you, check the various tabs in iTunes and confirm that the appropriate boxes are checked. You can decide which apps, music and videos will be transferred.
2. Use Vibosoft iPad/iPhone/iPod to Mac transfer app
Vibosoft iPad to mac transfer program can copy everything from iPhone,iPad, ipod to computer for backup, I used it for long time, really powerful and worth a recommend! there are so many similar software like: Coolmuster iPad to computer transfer, iStonsoft,

How do I transfer music from iPad to macbook?
I've previously had all music etc on a PC with iPad, iPhone synced to that. I want to transfer music from my iPad (as it's got all the CDs I laboriously added to my PC!) to my new macbook but can't find how to? I did try to transfer directly from PC to macbook using migratoin assistant but it dropped wifi constantly so gave up..
You can copy iTunes purchased music from a device via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. For music from other sources (e.g. copied from CDs) you will need a third-party program on your Mac to copy them back from a device - there are some listed half-way down this page : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
There are also other methods of copying music between computers : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
If you will be syncing the iPad and iPhone to your Mac then you may also find this page for syncing to a new computer useful : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141 -

You use iTunes to sync all music and playlists or selected playlists.Your iPad will need to have enough free space to sync the content that you have selected from your library. How do I transfer music from iBookG4 to MacBook Air?
How do I transfer music from my old iBookG4 to new MacBook Air?
I've tried Home Sharing and it also brings across a couple of albums. Help much appreciated!
Thank you in advance.Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the option (alt) key (shift on Windows) so you get a prompt to select a library, then guide it to the 'iTunes Library.itl' file in the moved iTunes folder. If you have to use a small flash drive to do the moving you can copy the files and folders groups at a time but make sure they all end up in the same folder structure in the end.
If you put the copied iTunes folder in the default location of Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Music then you don't even need to start with the option key held down, iTunes will automatically look for it there. (Make sure there isn't anything already in the iTunes folder there that you want to keep since you will be replacing it with the one you are moving.)
Longer answers if for any reason you do not think all library files are inside your iTunes folder (changed preferences settings at some point):
iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music [library] to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527 - a somewhat bewildering and not always easily understandable set of options.
For the record there's this reference for iTunes 11 but it really doesn't strike me as having the specifics you need. iTunes 11 for Mac: Move your library to another computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12168
2011 ilounge article: Transferring your iTunes library - http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/moving-your-itunes-library-to -a-new-hard-drive/ - An article with good background information (similar to the links above), particularly if you are not sure your media files are all grouped for quick answer above. Unfortunately under the single term "transferring library" it describes two very different moves; relocating just your media (not really transferring your library and not recommended unless you really need this configuration), and relocating media+database (really your whole "library"). Make sure you understand the difference before electing to move only media. -

Can't import purchased music from iPad to MacBook Pro's iTunes
I bought and downloaded classical music albums to my MacBook Pro's iTunes. They have also apparently been automatically synced onto my iPad's iTunes. Then I purchased and downloaded successfully four classical albums to iPad's iTunes. But when I manually synced the iPad's iTunes with the Mac's iTunes, only one of the four paid albums was fully transferred so it can be played from the MacBook Pro's iTunes. The other three albums only show notices in Mac Book Pro's iTunes that they are "purchased", but there are no digital files that can produce sound. How can I get the digital music files of these purchased albums to be downloaded onto the MacBook Pro's iTunes so they can be played there?
Yes you can. Connect your iPad to your computer, open iTunes, select your device on the left side, right click on the name of your iPad and you can select transfer purchases.
You must authorize your computer as well in iTunes from the menu at the top under Store.

Thanks in advanceA free app that can also manage music on an iPad is Songbird.
