Transfer Music + Videos + Podcasts + Photos from iPOd to iTunes
This is the same case of old PC crashing. I noticed there are a lot of ways of transferring music files to a new iTunes. Is there a way to do the same with video, podcasts and photo files as well?
iPOD video Windows XP
Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed above your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows. The procedure is a bit involved and was written long before iTunes 7 so it requires a little adaptation, also it won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then have a look at the third party utilities listed above they are generally quite straightforward and simple to use. Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.

The PC I am using was reformatted due to some viruses present. Together with the files that were deleted was my iTunes software. Right after the PC was restored, I downloaded iTunes. I was wondering if I could transfer the music, videos, and pics in my iTouch to my new iTunes library. If not, what else can I do? Please help.

Getting store music and photos from Ipod into itunes
Hi
Recently i rebooted my computer hard drive and i erased all the info including itunes now that all is well, when i attach my ipod i would like the music over 600 on the ipod to be converted back to itunes is that possible and if yes how do i accomplish that?Connect your iPod to your computer. The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay. -
Transfer hd video and photos from dslr
I have a Canon T3i DSLR that i shoot pics and HD video with. I travel alot and need to edit my photos and videos on the road. Even tho i have a first gen ipad which i LOVE....it's not great for photos, and i cant edit videos at all. So i am thinking of getting one of the new macbook airs that just came out today.
I WOULD go for the 11" high end model with 4G ram and 256 SSD flash drive.....but the only thing making me pause and think about the larger 13" version is that the 11" doesn't have an SD card slot.
I know i can get an external USB card reader and hook it up to the 11"....but would that be ALOT slower than transfering video and Photos on the 13" macook air by popping in the SD card into the slot? The new models both have thunderbolt....will thunderbolt SD card readers come out eventually?
If the ipad 2 transfered and edited HD video and photos, I'd nab that. But it doesn't.
If the 11" macbook air had an SD card slot, I'd nab that....but it doesn't.
ARGH! **** you Apple!!! Lol.
Even tho i have a big 65L Osprey backpack for travelling, I'd still like to pack as light as i can, since i will be treking all over the world. Cant check my backpack, but i have a smaller daypack for carry on to hold my camera and laptop.
The 13" and 11" macbook airs are both the same thickness. The 13" is only 1" wider and 1.5" deeper than the 11". So not TOO much bigger. The 13" is 2.9lbs while the 11" is 2.3lbs...so not a HUGE difference in weight.
So i guess it comes down to the SD card slot issue. Does anybody have experience with transfering video and photos to the 11" thru an external card reader? And if so, is the internal SD slot on the 13" ALOT faster when transfering? Or about the same? And lastly will thunderbolt card readers become available in the future u think?
Thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully answer my questions.
Cheers!Good to know that I am not the only one thinking about this. I currently have an 11" MBA. When purchasing I considered getting the 13" just because it had the SD card. However, smaller was more important to me. I have a canon 60D and I have transferred images using an external card reader and through a direct link to the camera - at the moment, neither are spectacular. I have also used a the SD card reader built into the iMac's - but even that appears slow with a 32Gb SDHC extreme card. I am hoping that the thunderbolt technology will lead to SD card readers - firewire and USB 3 have and since thunderbolt's transfer rates are ridiculous fast, taking advantage of it would appear obvious. However for the near term, I am looking into faster USB SD card readers. The best website that compares these, with every popular sd card imaginable, and on a Mac (as well as windows) is:
http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/reader_report_multi_page.asp?cid=6007-9438
Until the first round of thunderbolt SD card readers become available, I will be holding off on the new 11" MBA - when they do... I will be itching to upgrade.
Good luck! -
30 gig video, podcasts crash the ipod with iTunes 7.0.1
has anyone had their ipod crash only when playing podcasts? short podcasts are fine, but 50 minute or more, crash and restart the ipod. playing music is fine.
I have noticed two things with my 30 gig Video Ipod since i updated the software thru iTunes 7. First all my podcasts syncs that are happening with Album artwork are crashing the iPod and making it restart and the second is that it has also affected some songs albeit selectively. I tried turning the album artwork off and only once did one of the five podcasts i downloaded did work!
All the Podcasts or most of the ones that I had downloaded before iTunes 7 updater for iPod do tend to work but there is no pattern.
The reason I love apple and my iPod is the sheer magic of podcasts that are my companion and daily dose of caffeine en route to work...and I hate to get any glitches.
Can somebody walk through the step by step procedure to correct this or does one wait for another update from Apple? -
Viewing music titles / song lists from iPod on iTunes
I have updated iTunes on my computer (Windows XP) several times over the last few years & now when I connect my iPod to the computer, I don't seem able to view my music titles / song lists. Anybody know why or how I can do this?
Now when I click on the iPod icon... I get a 'Summary' page, a 'Music' page with an option to 'sync' etc... but cannot see my music content on the iPod...
How (e.g.) can I delete or change content on my iPod??
Any help/instructions/solution gratefully received!Have you clicked on the small disclosure triangle to the left of the iPod listing (under "devices" in iTunes)?

How to transfer music, movie and photo from my iPhone 4 to my iPad air and vice versa
You can copy them via your computer's iTunes - you can't connect an iPad to iPod for direct transfer, though if you iOS 5 set up on both devices and iCloud enabled you might be able to re-download some of your iTunes purchased music on the other device.

Transfer my music and foto's from Ipod to computer
My Ipod Photo was synchronised with a laptop. This one crashed and now I want to put the music and photo's to my new laptop.
Nowhere can I find a way to do so.
Who can help me?
regards
AnjoFirst of all try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it can be messy.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
There is also CopyPod. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.
If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
CopyPod Photo can be used for your photos, although if you loaded them to your iPod as full resolution photos, you should be able to retrieve them from your iPod by enabling disk use and dragging them out of the photo folder on the iPod. I've never actually tried this though. -
Is it possible to transfer music/videos from my itunes account to a grandchild (she will need her own account) I bought her music and videos and let her play with my ipod touch. Now she has an ipad.
No you cannot transfer purchases from one account to another account. Apple does not allow it and never has allowed it.
She can use you Apple ID on the device and switch between her ID and your ID, but that can cause problems at times and can become a bit of a pain. -
Is there any way to transfer photos from ipod touch (2nd generation
Is there any way to transfer photos from ipod touch (2nd generation & OS is 4.2.1) to PC? I am struggling a lot. The OS cannot be upgradable beyond 4.2.1
I am wondering if there could be many other ways to transfer the photos like:
1. with the help of any android app
2. ipod touch to iphone/ipod latest version
3. any 3rd party free softwares (there are paid 3rd party softwares but I dont want to invest)
I did try some of the options:
1. I could emailed only 6 photos in one email (I have almost 800 photos and would be time consuming.
2. I'm trying to access my google account on my ipod but it keeps coming up with "oops! your browser seems to have cookies disabled..." My cookies are not disabled. Safari is the only browser for ipod touch and could not be able to installed not only any new browser but also any iphone apps. Updates for the existing apps not possible at all. So this option of uploading the photos on google drive is ruled out.
Anybody is there to help me out? Sorry for such a long inventory.
Thank you!If they are in the iPod' Saved Photos album then:
