Transfer Numbers files from your MAC to Ipad

When I try to transfer/read files made in Numbers on my Mac Pro, they cannot be read in Numbers on the Ipad. What good is that? That is the only reason I paid for the app on Ipad!
Anyone with this problem??

Which iWork version are you using on the Mac ?
It seems that some features of the Mac version are unavailable in the ipad one.
Maybe importing iWork '08 documents is one of these dropped features.
You may also check the file format used on the Mac.
If like me you are using the old Package format, maybe the iPad version treats only the flatFile format.
Of course, if Apple give me one of these new devices, I will not refuse it but, given what I read on this forum, I will certainly not buy one when they will be available in France.

  • How do I transfer Numbers file between my Mac and iPad after buying the app?

I have a few files in Numbers on my Mac that I would like to update on my iPad while on the road.  I bought the app for my iPad and checked the Documents section of iCloud is "On" with both devices.  How do I get the files to appear on my iPad?

Since you have Lion, rather than Mountain Lion, you will have to manually upload your Mac Numbers document to iCould. Log into iCloud with Safari. If you upgrade to Mountain Lion you will be able to select iCloud from Numbers just as if it was another folder on your system.

How do I transfer a photo from my Mac to Ipad?

You could email it to yourself or if you are talking about lots of photos:
You can directly transfer photos and videos via WiFi between the iDevices, PCs, and Macs with an App like Photo Transfer.
    See: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/photo-transfer-app-easily/id365152940?mt=8
Or you can upload the photos and videos to the Dropbox service using the Dropbox App on the iDevice, PC, or Mac and download them to the another device using the Dropbox App on that device.

  • How do i transfer numbers files from mac to ipad

I'm trying to transfer a small Numbers spreadsheet from my Mac Mini to my iPad 2 and haven't been able to figure out how to do it.  Ideally, I'd like to be able to sync this spreadsheet between the two systems.  Thanks in advance for any insight.

Never mind.  I figured it out.

  • How to transfer video files from win 8 to iPad Air

i am using itunes home sharing for this but I am unable to transfer.

    Hi Vishu Thakur,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand you want to move videos from your computer to your iPad Air and are trying to use Home Sharing to move the files. The process of moving files from your computer to your iPad is called syncing and would use iTunes to actually move the files from iTunes to the iPad. The article attached explains the process.

  • Can I transfer music files from my mac to my new pc?

I was wondering if there is any way I can transfer my iPod files from my mac unto my pc (without deleeting them). How do I do this and can someone provide me the link to the original (4 GB) iPod Mini software like on the disk, because I seem to have lost mine.

Probably the easiest way to use an iPod on both Mac and Windows computers is to format the iPod (using iPod Updater) using the PC. This will force your iPod to use the Windows file system (FAT32) which both the Mac and PC can read from and write to without the help of additional software. Of course then all your software updates for the iPod will have to be done on Windows. If you need to use a Mac (HFS+) formatted iPod on a Windows PC, you'll need to install some 3rd party software such as XPlay 2.0 (which you can get from MediaFour Software). This will enable your Windows PC to read a Mac-formatted iPod.
However, please be aware that Apple does not officially support cross platform use.
The iPod updater software is here.

  • Transfer few files from Macbook Pro to iPad 2

I It says i need to click Apps ( i think it in Itunes) and then activate filesharing at the bottom after it is connected to computer's usb to from Ipad 2
    I need more documentation.

Different apps will have different ways of copying their content to/from a computer, so it will depend upon what the apps that you want to transfer the files to supports e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via your wifi network, email, dropbox etc.

  • How can I transfer document files from my mac classic to my macbook?

I have a floppy drive on my old mac classic and cd drive on my macbook.  Is there some way to connect the two and transfer files directly?

A Macintosh Classic (http://support.apple.com/kb/sp198) has a SCSI hard drive. Even though the hard drive can be removed and placed in an external SCSI enclosure, it is not going to be easy to find a way of connecting it to a modern Mac. That would normally require a USB-to-SCSI adapter, which may or may not be supported under the latest operating system versions.
The easiest method of transferring files from a Macintosh Classic may be via an external USB floppy drive connected to the modern Mac. 1.44 MB Mac-formatted floppy disks can be used for such transfers (not 800K).
A SCSI Zip (100) drive could in principle be connected to the SCSI port of the Macintosh Classic. The Zip disk could then be moved to a USB Zip (100) drive connected to a modern computer.
The Macintosh Classic does not have built-in Ethernet, nor a slot for an Ethernet card (certain other "classic" Macintosh computers do have the ability to hold an Ethernet card). There are some external solutions (such as SCSI-to-Ethernet adapters), but with limitations. For a networking overview, the http://www.applefool.com/se30/ web page could perhaps be of interest.
It is also possible to arrange a null-modem connection between a Macintosh Classic and a modern computer, providing that a USB-to-serial adapter is attached to the latter (appropriate terminal emulation programs are needed on both sides).

  • HT4648 So if you import a numbers document from a mac to iPad which has a conditional format rule such as a cell with a score between 1-10 fills with the colour black will still work on the iPad? Not being able to edit it just means you can't change this

I want to use numbers on my iPad mini for a team I coach. I have a spreadsheet on my mac I want to import onto the iPad mini for players to enter in wellness ratings. On this spreadsheet (on the mac) I have a conditioning formatting rule that when a player enters in their numbers the cells fill with black so others can't see their entries (to maintain privacy). Will this function import across onto iPad numbers? From the discussion I saw on this site it only partly answers my question stating "it cannot be edited" does this mean the conditional formatting rule cannot be changed and therefore will still work or the whole spreadsheet can't be edited and you can only view the spreadsheet and make no new entries to it?

Yes, I have posted this thread to different forums after I realized that Lenovo "customer care" is not likely to help me out and even wirelessforums.org members couldn't come up with any ideas for days, that's why. I have already written that helper applications like SMAC (or etherchange or macshift) don't work, because they do the same thing in the system as I change it in the driver panel, so they use the same method which simply does not work.
Locked? Definitely not. If yes, why can I change the MAC of my adapter under Ubuntu Linux using b43 open-source driver if it's really locked? Or you mean it's locked from software, because Lenovo or Broadcom didn't want their users to change their MACs or they just forgot to release a fully-functional driver? Well, then I would like to have a driver in which it's not locked, because this is a basic feature of my adapter of which the hardware is capable.
I have already contacted Broadcom, see their (automatically-generated) answer in my initial post, but I will try to do that again with more foresight.

  • Transfer of files from old Mac wiped out Leopard?

I bought a MacBook Pro tonight--airport extreme, new printer... Set it up, turned it on. It asked if I wanted to transfer files from my old Mac via firewire. Of course! So I did. This Book was supposed to come with Leopard on it--but it's not there and I don't know if it ever was since the first thing I did was transfer my files. It tells me it's running 10.4.10. Did transfering my old files to the new Mac wipe out Leopard? What's the deal?

After October 1? I purchased it **last night.** That'd be 42 days after October 1. And I specifically asked the sales person at the Apple store if it came with Leopard pre-installed because I didn't want to get into the update fiasco. Pre-installed and updating are two different worlds. I've been doing Macs since 1987, and I know what I'm talking about re. the difference between updates and "finished" product. That's why I waited until now, went to the Apple Store instead of buying online, etc. I wanted to be **SURE** it wasn't an update. If Leopard isn't on there (after I was told it *was*)--well, this ******really****** *****. And we all know Apple's policy here--"we'll give you the upgrade disk." I don't want the freakin' upgrade disk. I want what I was told I was getting when I shelled out at total of $3600 last night.

  • I am desperate to transfer a file from my mac laptop to my ipad.I was told to use iphoto ,but it scrambles up the order I want the pictures ,how can I move the pictures to the sequence I want?Any help is greatly appreciated :)

I am desperate to get my photos onto my ipad for a presentation tomorrow. The photos are from different times and dates. When I put the photos onto iphoto they all come out in a completely different order to what I want. How can I arrange this so that the pictures are in the correct order.Thank you for assistance .Delia

    Learn how things work
files have no order at all  --  the program that views them sets the order  --  in iPhoto you can do this with a number of sorts on the photo data or manually  --  in a file viewer like the finder or windows explorer there are a number of sorts on the file data (not the photo data) that you control - so in the finder you can sort by alpha file name, date or file creation or last modification, size of file, etc
So having the file sdisplay in your selected order first off involves understanding the difference between file data and photo data, then making a decision how you want them to display in the file system (and verifying that the file system you plan to use supports this) and then use the iPhoto export to create files that will match the sort you want if iPhoto supports this
the most common way is to display the files in alpha file names order at the destination - so you need to export the files so their file names are in alpha sort order using the sequential numbering option of export

  • How do I transfer PDF files from Adobe to my iPad?

I need to transfer manuels to my Apple iPad from Adobe _ Reader but it is blocked by a password apparently set by Adobe.

You'll need to explain your problem in more detail. Do you see a password required when you view it in Reader/Acrobat on Macintosh or Windows?
Reader for iOS doesn't support password-protected PDF files.
