Transfer of colors

I have problems with the transfer of color from my photo album to my Deskjet 4280 printer. The magenta color does not transfer. I have copied a color phot on the printer and also e maild a copy to myself. In both case the colors were fine.
This question was solved.

The troubleshooting steps here should help. It would appear you will need a fresh color cartrdige.

  • How do I transfer a color from one object to another without losing the gradient?

    COLORING AN OBJECT AND SAVING THE GRADIENT
    These are my notes.
    x
    Choose the EYEDROPPER tool.
    x
    Sample the color you want from an object in your image.
    x
    Double-click on the fill icon at the bottom of the tool panel.
    This brings up the COLOR PICKER panel.
    In that panel, you'll find the numeric value of the color you sampled.
    I followed these instructions but when the COLOR PICKER panel came up, it didn't show the color it was suppose to show.  The color I sampled with the eyedropper was a light blue with a gradient.  I had a few different files up with the same image.  One file brought up the color orange in the Color Picker panel.  And another file brought up a total BLACK, with a numeric value of 0000!  Can anyone tell me what's happening?

    My guess is the eyedropper tool is struggling.  The best way and the one I use is to get color readings in Photoshop using its eyedropper tool.  Write down the color percentages for each color you want from the image.  Then, in Illustrator, I use the color palette to create new swatches using the percentage I wrote down from the actual image file.  Those new swatches can be used ( or transferred to ) in the gradient palette.  I have never used the eyedropper tool for getting color from anywhere in Illustrator.  But, that's just me.

  • Film transfer from COLOR

    Hi,
    I'm a student film maker just completed shooting my diploma project on RED ONE and planned the entire workflow on FINAL CUT STUDIO. It's just seemless but the final output should be delivered on FILM.
    My questions:
    Which FILM RECORDER should be used?
    I have contacted a studio which uses baselight as they grading/coloring tool and AatonK as their recorder. Is there any recalibration of the recorder to be done to use it with footage corrected by color?
    Which monitor / projector should be used to preview the exact output?
    Is there anything else I need to know?
    Thanks in advance ....

    I can't say I've evaluated output from an Aaton.
    You may find some economy trying to find a facility offering Celco film recorders, which is a CRT-based technology. If you can strike a deal with a company that offers ArriLaser, you won't get a better product -- but these devices are in demand and come with a premium price for services. As far as prepping the media for output to film - every facility will have its own secret sauce, as it will be utterly dependent on about a couple of thousand variables that you have no control over. Film stock varies slightly between batches, chemistry is mixed on a daily basis, bath temperatures can wobble depending on the time of day...you get the idea.
    Firms that offer Baselight as a grading solution most often have alliances with film labs, if they aren't in fact the same company -- and with that integration they are able to offer a direct-to-fim path that takes all (or as many as possible) variables into account into the custom LUT monitoring that grade judgements are made with. That said, it is still very possible and at critical budget levels, practical, to grade with Apple COLOR (that was what Silicon Color Final Touch was created to do) and forward the media to a lab that understands that the grade was LINEAR, and that it needs to be migrated to a film colorspace. Those paths exist -- but they are unique to individual facilities.
    Conceivably, your Apple graded project (dpx file) could be mounted on a Baselight for a final once-over if you do not have a reliable or calibrated monitoring facility.
    Your next step is to find one of these businesses that are sympathetic to your situation.
    You'll find most film grade theatres have a Barco installed.
    Bon chance.

  • Transfer Gantt Chart View color's automatically to Team Planner View

    Hi there.  My project has 7 different resources with various Resource Names ending characters.  I've automatically color coded the bars on my Gantt Chart based on resource allocation by using Flags 1-7, Custom Fields, and the formula IIf(Left([Resource
    Names],3)="xxx",Yes,No).  I then change the format of each bar style to the color I desire.
    I am looking for a way to automatically transfer the colors I have assigned the tasks in my Gantt Chart to the Team Planner view.  I don't believe there is a simple way to do this but would appreciate any help aside from manually formatting each of
    the tasks in Team Planner view.
    Thanks for the help!
    -Joe

    jbarrazotto --
    Alas, there is no way to do what you want with the Team Planner view.  This is because there is no dialog similar to the Bar Styles dialog where you can control the formatting.  Basically, the Team Planner view has definitions for Manually Scheduled
    tasks, Auto Scheduled tasks, Actual Work on tasks, External Tasks, and Late Tasks.  Using the corresponding buttons in the Styles section of the Format ribbon with the Team Planner Tools applied, you can control the fill color and the border color for
    every bar of one of those types.  But there is no way to add other buttons to the ribbon to control the Gantt-like bars that are shown in the Team Planner view.  So, what you want to do with the Team Planner view is not possible.  Sorry.
    Hope this helps.

  • Transferring Color From Line to Text

    The above is a snippet from a Pages document.
    How can I use the color eyedropper to pick up the color from the lines and then transfer that color to the text so that everything is the same color?
    Cheers,     John

    Select the text to receive the color from the line. In the Toolbar > Format > Text panel, choose the color globe where you would set the text color. Use the magnifying glass from this color chooser, and pass it over the center of your line — then click. The color of your text will change to that of your line.
    You can drag from the color field, now set to the line color in the color chooser to one of the empty locations at the bottom of the color chooser — to save it for future use.

  • Assign a color category to a calendar appointment on iphone 4?

    How can you take your color coded calendar appointments on Microsoft Outlook and transfer these color coded appointments to the calendar on an iphone 4?  I can't believe there hasn't been anyone else who needed this in the past besides myself.  Any suggestions?  I'm able to change the color appointments on Outlook but these colored appointments will not transfer to my iphone 4.

    HAPPENED TO ME also. Cannot get it back via "restore" feature on iTunes.  I never sync calendar with my macbook, so it is not there.  ALL my calendar stuff (except for birthday entries for some strange reason) were WIPED away when I upgraded to iOS 5 .  I wish I had not upgraded the OS.  Anyone have a fix?

  • CS3 Color Customizer Help

    I'm trying to duplicate the customizer found here:
    http://www.reebokhockey.com/gear/products/goalie/customizers/product/premier-iii-sr-pro-cu stomizer/
    But make a few tweaks to it. I'm using CS3 and AS3 to build the file but really am a novice with working in any kind of action script. I was able to get the file this far:
    http://stinehour.com/premier3.html
    There are really 4 changes I'm trying to figure out.
    1. need to figure out the if statement that would change the color on the logo to white if the background was dark.
    2. need to figure out how to do the "embossed" colors which I assume would be an overlay of a graphic
    3. need to figure out how to get color names to show. I can get it display the hex numbers, but not sure how to change the name
    4. I'd like to eventually figure out how to have the color pickers transfer the color to an html dropdown. I actually wouldn't mind getting rid of the color box pickers if I could get the dropdown to feed the flash file.
    Are there any tutorials or online help sources that you'd suggest to accomplish these things?

    Thanks for silent help!
    Now it's work properly.
    But I declaired classes ISelectionManager and ITextEditSuite in WRPDialogController.cpp.
    That's mean:
    #include "ISelectionManager.h"
    #include "ITextEditSuite.h"
    don't embeded.
    What is this mean? Help please with this now!

  • Color label incompatibility between LR3 and Bridge CS5

    I have LR3 in English and Bridge CS5 installed in other language. Is this why whenever I assign color labels in Bridge they show up in LR as white(custom). BTW, star ratings transfer correctly.

    Color labels are just words (strings) assigned to the photos, and if you use different laguages, those don't match. You can build your own Color Label Set in LR where you enter the words assigned by bridge to the different colors (Menu Metadata/Color Label Set/Edit). Then choose this color label set in LR and you'll get the colors.
    LR shows white if it cannot assign the "word" in the photo to a color in the active color label set. You can see the "word" assigned to the photo in the metadata panel ("Label") or all of them in the metadata filter.

  • Windows 8 - After Effects - Mac20/08/14 1:55 PM

    Hey all,
    Background
    I have just recently purchased a new PC with Windows 8. Previously I had been working off an apple MacBook pro.
    My system for working on videos has been from the RAW footage to import into After Effects apply a color correct amongst and other grading tools and use the After Effects render to export the footage in a editable codec (Apple Pro Res 422). From this point I import the footage into Final Cut Pro 7 and edit.
    Problem
    Now, as my new PC is more powerful than my MacBook my intention is to do the Color Correction and render on the PC. Next I want to use a local connection between the PC and Mac (Is already set up) to transfer the Color Corrected footage to my MacBook and complete a Final Cut pro 7 edit on that.
    To Sum up
    What I really need to know is how to use Adobe Media Encoder or After Effects Render on PC/Windows 8 to compress Footage into a small enough file size to be quickly transferred from one computer to another and into a codec that I can use to edit on Final Cut Pro 7 MacBook.
    sorry for the long story I thought you would need a detailed understanding of my issue

    What I really need to know is how to use Adobe Media Encoder or After Effects Render on PC/Windows 8 to compress Footage into a small enough file size to be quickly transferred from one computer to another and into a codec that I can use to edit on Final Cut Pro 7 MacBook.
    When you are working in a production pipeline you do not want to go for compressed file sizes, especially if you are color grading the final product. If your camera original is not ProRez then I would not transfer the files between systems, I'd spend a hundred bucks on a fast external hard drive and just connect the drive to the Mac for editing and to the PC for color grading. If you really want to spend time copying files from one system to another then you need all the information in the footage you can get so do what Mylenium suggested. I'd go for the Image Sequence and keep the bit depth up above 8bit. I have one more concern. It comes from this part of your question:
    Now, as my new PC is more powerful than my MacBook my intention is to do the Color Correction and render on the PC. Next I want to use a local connection between the PC and Mac (Is already set up) to transfer the Color Corrected footage to my MacBook and complete a Final Cut pro 7 edit on that.
    Color grading in normal production workflow is finalized after the project is edited. I always do mine after the final sound mix. I do set up an initial color grade for the footage, especially if it is shot LOG, but final color grading is always the last step for me and most pros that I know. If it were my workflow and I wanted to cut in FCP Pro I would cut the project first, then I would do the color grading. Color grading can be a slow process, but even if you are very fast at it, taking the time to color grade your original footage other than a general color profile setting is a terrible waste of time. If your shooting ratio is 3 or 4 to one then it's bad, if it's 8 to 10 to one, it's terrible, or, if you are like some of the new filmmakers I've seen struggling with their first production, your shooting ratio could be as high as 50 or even 100 to one.
    I hope this helps.

  • Classic report - Highlight row

    APEX 4.2.1
    With all the latest and greatest dynamic action and jQuery goodness in 4.2.1, what is the easiest, declarative way to highlight rows in a classic report region (Generic Column Template) based on data condition using values on the row, using #COL# notation? e.g. If SAL > 1000 and DEPT = Marketing, highlight row in red or some such.
    In prior versions, this involved copying the Generic Column Template to one used just by this report and use the (up to 4) Column Templates with a PL/SQL expression.
    Thanks

    Custom report templates are okay if your needs are straightforward. But you said it already, there are only four different flavors to chose from.
    Here is a solution that'll work on all pages if once installed and can be extended to a multitude of visual attributes. Only an example that you may want to adapt to your liking.
    Edit Page, "CSS, Inline", or via Shared Components > CSS files
    td.color1 {background-color:#9F9} /* Table cell gets colored in light green  */
    td.color2 {background-color:#FF9} /* Table cell gets colored in light yellow */
    td.color3 {background-color:#F99} /* Table cell gets colored in light red    */
    /** and so forth, followed by as many declarations as you need... */Page Template, "Function and Global Variable Declaration":
    /** Change the visual appearance of your classic report as you like after it's rendered */
    function customClassicReportDisplay(){
      /** Transfer the color class from the text to the table cell */
      $('td span.color1').closest('td').addClass('color1');
      $('td span.color2').closest('td').addClass('color2');
      $('td span.color3').closest('td').addClass('color3');
      // and so forth, followed by as many declarations as you need...
    }This jQuery code can be simplified, especially the handling of many lines for many colors can still be compacted, which makes it more difficult to understand though.
    Page Template, "Execute when Page Loads":
    /** Perform the function on Page Load */
    customClassicReportDisplay();
    /** Perform the function after Partial Page Rendering */
    $('form').bind('apexafterrefresh', function(){
      customClassicReportDisplay();
    });Here comes the trick. In the SQL statement, you wrap a <span> HTML tag with a different class declaration around each value that you want to color.
    SELECT '<span class="color' || case when some_value > 100 then '2' else null end || '">' || some_value       || '</span>' AS some_value
         , '<span class="color' || decode(some_other_value, 'too much', '3', NULL)   || '">' || some_other_value || '</span>' AS some_other_value
         , '<span class="color' || case when last_value between  0 and  10 then '1'
                                        when last_value between 11 and  50 then '2'
                                        when last_value between 51 and 100 then '3'
                                        else null end                                || '">' || last_value       || '</span>' AS last_value
      FROM ...This obviously makes the SQL a bit more complicated but in my opinion, I think this is a data driven topic and therefore just fine. Hence you say "depending on value ranges I want to change something" - and that belongs to SQL. WHAT you want to do (here: change color) is then up to your JS and CSS declaration. If you shift the SQL code into a view it's better to maintain and won't get spoiled by non-savvy third party developers...
    I know that's not what you originally asked for, because there is no #COL# notation, but for me it's the most flexible solution I can think of under APEX.

  • Where is the simple 'fill' button on the new Numbers?

    Just upgraded to Yosemite and the new Numbers. In the old Numbers version I used, there was a button on the toolbar for 'fill' which I could use to change the background color of a line or a single cell. Now it seems I have to go to 'format' and then choose Cell and then choose Fill and then rummage around until I find the right color wheel that I want to use. <insert bronx cheer here>

    OK, so I have found a solution.  First I had to add the Colors button to the toolbar. Then I found the Eyedropper at the bottom of the Colors menu. This allowed me to transfer whatever color I chose to whatever cells are highlighted on the spreadsheet. A little more cumbersome than the old way, but better than constantly going through the Format list. I expect this aligns Numbers with a bunch of other programs which I don't currently use.

  • Assigning stroke attribute from one shape to fill attribute of another shape using eyedropper tool?

    Unalbe to use eyedropper tool to pick up stroke attribute from one shape to use in fill of another shape. I shift click with my eyedropper tool on stroke but does not transfer that color to my fill color of other shape. Fill color shows correctly in tools panel but not in shape or control panel.

    I have through trial and error discovered as a fifth step to JamArtz instructions, if I go to the color panel flyout menu and click on CMYK, my effect will take effect: I know this to be a band aide solution not a fix. Can’t see anything in my preferences to cause the issue.
    1.Select the destination object (the one for which you want to change the fill).
    2. Make the fill swatch in the Color Panel active (important step).
    3. Select the eyedropper.
    4. Shift-click on the stroke of the source object (the one whose stroke you want to apply to the fill of the destination object).
    5. From the Color Panel fly out menu, click on CMYK (which is already toggled on) the change will take effect.

  • Adobe Captivate 8 - How to Remember Project Custom Swatches

    Is there a way to replace default swatches with custom swatches 'permanently', for example by embedding them in a template? I've created a template with my custom swatches but it doesn't seem to be a solution. Captivate loads the swatches panel with default swatches each time I create a new file or open an existing project.

    I know, the whole color work flow in Captivate is bit mysterious, and most users don't bother about it.  The swatches panel was almost not used in CP7. I ended up by creating my own swatches in the scratch area of a project if colors were important, and I believe consistency in colors is important, don't misunderstand me.
    Now it has improved a little bit, but I'm still trying to figure out the best work flow. You are right, I should expect to be able to save my swatches panel either with a workspace, or within the Preferences, or if you want within the Object Style manager. But Captivate has not even a foreground/background color button, it used to have two color buttons in the vertical toolbox that they banned from the present version
    With each new project I try to find out a better way to manage colors, but still didn't succeed. And you are very rare, there are almost never questions about color management. Glad I'm not alone anymore.
    What I'm doing at this moment, is transfer 10 colors to a theme color palette from the swatches panel. Those 10 colors are also bit of a mystery. Some are used in the provided themes, some not. And the names don't correspond always with the objects they are used for (Subtitle is not used for subtitles, to give one example). But those theme colors, when applied to the theme, will result in changes of some object styles (not all...another question mark) and they are mostly available when a color dialog box pops up. I say mostly, they will for Fill, Stroke and Gradient colors, for some learning interactions but not for all. The 'tints' are based on the theme colors, color 4 is a theme color, color 5 is darker, the first three are lighter. That provides me in total 50 tints based on the theme colors.
    A template is really a bridge too far, at least if you use that word as it is meant in Captivate for a cptl file, because I see the word template used for a lot of files, even for themes and almost never for a template.
    Your theme color palette will be saved in the workspace, can be reused for any theme. And if you edit also the Object styles, those that are not yet adapting the to theme colors and the Skin you can save that theme as a custom theme and reuse it later for any project, of the same kind. Because themes for responsive projects can be used for normal projects but not the other way.
    Sorry for that long answer, still not satisfied with it, just the result of my personal exploration. A blog post about that is not really worthwhile since almost nobody seems to care about colors. When consulting or repairing projects I do see more overridden styles than normal ones.

  • Pixmantec RawShooter Migration Tool - Released

    It's finally been released!!
    Find it and more info here:
    http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/Pixmantec_RawShooter_Migration_Tool
    Doesn't work with the RawShooter settings for:
    * Hue
    * Color balance
    * Noise reduction
    * Detail extraction
    * Curve/levels adjustments
    (I don't think it works for crop, rotation, flagging, ratings, etc . . but I haven't tried on images with crop/rotation. There is a link on the above page to a tool that transfers flags, ratings, etc . . .)
    Personally, I've downloaded it and tried it out on a few directories . . . maybe I'm doing something wrong, but it doesn't seem to work too well to me. Also, the Vibrance slider was much stronger in RSP than it is in LR, but it does a direct translation (if you had a setting of 3 in RSP, the setting in LR is also 3, which is nowhere near powerful enough). I hope I'm doing something wrong with it. If not, I'd hate to have seen how this looked back in March, when they postponed it indefinitely to work on the quality of the translation.
    Either way, I appreciate the work and effort put into it and satisfying the RSP customers! I love Lightroom and will continue to use it. Thanks Adobe!
    Jonah Garoutte

    This release is generating surprising little conversation. Good thing it's finally here, but I have to admit, that it's a tool that was released way too late and still doesn't seem to work well enough to be truly practical in the RS->LR conversion. Not being able to transfer even color temperature settings to LR is a little strange. I also wonder how hard it truly would have been for the curves settings to transferred in the process. Of course it makes it harder, that the LR curves is "crippled" compared to RS curves and doesn't allow so accurate control.
    and I'm STILL waiting for a Levels tool to be included in to LIghtroom! Why of why can't LR have a levels tool...
