Transfer of Data from PSA to ODS

Dear All,
I have been pulling data from R/3 to BW.I go to the infosource and schedule with data only to PSA.First to PSA and from PSA right click and "update immediately to ODS". When I choose that option the the data would begin to load into ODS , beginning with the concerned request being added in the ODS list of request(Manage). But today when I pulled data it successfully came to the PSA but when I chose "update immediately to ODS" option the PSA traffic light changed to yellow but the no request seems to be added to the concerned ODS in "Manage".

Hi,
In this case there must not be any processing of record from PSA to target. You started the job but it was cancelled within few seconds. Check the status of your job under sm37.
Now, if neither it is active nor present in DSO then select the request in PSA click on amber icon, under monitor turned that technical status in to Red and try to load it again from PSA.

First of all all the records are unable to pick up at a time i single attempt due to. follow the reason
It is not possible to load all the PSA requests' to target at a time.Because records picks up from PSA to Data target one by one due dependencies of routine run on the data transfer up to the extent. anyway if you can do this thing the process of loading the requests' one by one, offcourse it is totally depends upon manual .

I am facing the error while updating data from PSA to ODS in BI 7.0
The exact error message is:
The argument 'TBD' cannot be interpreted as a number
The error was triggered at the following point in the program:

Please suggest how to proceed on this issue.

Try to simulate the process.That can give you exact error location.
It seems like while updating few records may be no in the format of the field in which it is updated.

Error when i am loading data from PSA to ODS

But when i am loading data i am getting the error InfoObject/BIC/0REFER_DOC does not contain ALPHA -CONFORMING VALUE 0.

hi ashok,
u can push data from psa to ods, for this goto the psa in rsa1>psa>goto that request>rightclick>select " schedule update Immediately ", then data will moved from psa to ods.
or
In ods > delete the failed request>goto the processing tab-->select 3rd option " psa and then subsequentially to data targets ", --> schedule the infopackage.

Load data from PSA to ODS in Process Chain

Hi All,
I want to load the data from PSA to ODS. I am using 3.5 Version. I have created the Info Package to load the data from R/3 to ODS.
I just want to load data in the following Condition
1. Need to load data from R/3 to PSA.
2. Need to load data from PSA to ODS.
I need to include this two Info Packages in Process Chain.
I dont find any option to load PSA to ODS through Process Chain..
Pls Suggest.

Hi Ram,
You can keep the settings in the infopackage to load data from R/3 to PSA (by giving the settings as PSA and then into datatargets). Specify the option Update in all data targets for which the Rule Exist unde rthe Data Targets Tab.
Then in Process Chian, there is an option by the name REad PSA and Update Datatarget under the node Load Process and Post-Processing in the Process Types.
In the varaint, specify the infopackage name and save the varinat and uise it in the PC.

Data from PSA to ODS taking very very long time and fails

Hi Gurus,
I have been trying to load data from my CRM system to BI with some range in Data Selection.
I was loading to PSA then then Data Target (Package by Package). It failed twice by taking lot of time.
Then I brought the data to the PSA only successfully and tried moving it to ODS and shockingly long waiting hours it took and failed.
Please help me resolve this.

Hi,
Search the BI short dump overview for the short dump that belongs to the request.
Pay attention to the correct time and date on the selection screen.
You access a short dump list using the wizard or the menu path
"Environment -> Short dump -> In the Data Warehouse".
And also some TRFC time out error.
We have fixed it by increasing the profile parameter time and also clearing the old errored TRFC which where lying in the Source.
Yet this has been running for about 20 hours to move data from PSA to DSO. and only some of the Data Packages are turning into Green and Some in Red and Some in Yellow.

Data from PSA to ODS

Hi all,
I have a custom ODS that, at the moment, is filled with data coming from a standard lower level ODS.
Is it possible (and how) to insert data in that ODS directly from the PSA not passing through that standard ODS?

I explain better.
My problem is that my ODS have some standard key figures that can be easly mapped.
Some others are custom and must be filled with data coming from PSA stage.
The problem is that I do not know how to retrieve the name of the PSA tables/structures on which address my routine.
Ex. ODS Warranty Header takes data from 0AU_WTY_HEADER DataSource for all its key figures. If we add a new key figure whose data must be taken from 0AU_WTY_ITEM (for ex.) we need to write a routine (I think).
The problem is that I dont know to which tables address in the PSA.

Here are some fields which are different in terms of length when mapped in transformation rules

The difference is either some dats field are mapped to decimal, or the char 32 field is mapped to raw 16 OR Calweek, Calmonth is mapped to Calday
Both mostly all the ods field size is greater than the input source field.

    Error when attempting to IMPORT object "HIST2".
What happened?
    Error in the ABAP Application Program
    The current ABAP program "RSORAT4M" had to be terminated because it has
    come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
Error analysis
    An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
    The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_IMPORT_MISMATCH_ERROR', was
     not caught in
    procedure "AKT_DAY_HIST2" "(FORM)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING clause.
    Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
    exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
    The reason for the exception is:
    When importing the object "HIST2", the component no. 8 in the
    dataset has a different type from the corresponding component
    of the target object in the program "RSORAT4M".
    The data type is "I" in the dataset, but "P" in the program.
How to correct the error
    Try to find out why the type of the object should be different.
    There are various possible options:
    1. The type of the imported field has changed in the Data Dictionary.
       Make sure that the type of the imported field matches the type
       of the field in the Data Dictionary.
       If the data cannot be restored from another source, the data must be
       read by the 'old' structure, converted und again eported with the new
       structure, so that future IMPORTs will always function with the new
       structure.
    2. A new program version is active, which no longer fits the dataset.
       Try to solve the error generating the program "RSORAT4M" again. This
       works as follows: Select transaction SE38 in the SAP system. Enter
       the program name "RSORAT4M". Then activate the function 'Generate'.
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
keywords:
"CONNE_IMPORT_WRONG_COMP_TYPE" "CX_SY_IMPORT_MISMATCH_ERROR"
"RSORAT4M" or "RSORAT4M"
"AKT_DAY_HIST2"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
notification to SAP, include the following information:
1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
    To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
2. Corresponding system log
    Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
    Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes
after the short dump. Then choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
3. If the problem occurs in a problem of your own or a modified SAP
program: The source code of the program
    In the editor, choose "Utilities->More
Utilities->Upload/Download->Download".
4. Details about the conditions under which the error occurred or which
actions and input led to the error.
The exception must either be prevented, caught wit
"AKT_DAY_HIST2" "(FORM)", or its possible occurren
RAISING clause of the procedure.

Run the full load IP from PSA to ODS with selections on 0CALDAY(give one year selections)
make this full load as repair full request.In display mode of IP, in menu bar click on scheduler --> select repair full --->check the option and click ok.
now execute the IP.
If you run like this, your init which has between your PSA and ODS will no get disturb.

Error while loading data from PSA to DSO

Hi,
How to identify the erroneous records in DSO?
While loading the data from PSA to DSO through Process chains we are facing the error says:
"Value '#' (hex. '0023') of characteristic 0BBP_DELREF contains invalid characters"
"Error when assigning SID: Action VAL_SID_CONVERT InfoObject 0BBP_DELREF"
There is no error records in PSA but it seems some invalid characters exists.
Could you please help us how to find the error records in DSO and how to correct it.

These are errors BRAIN290 & RSDRO302.
The problem here most likely is that BW doesn't recognise a character you are trying to load. Generally the character is not "#",
as BW displays all symbols it does not recognise as #. You should decode from the hex string what the actual value is. Note that hex values < 20 are not allowed in BW.
Please review Note 173241 and the document mentioned within.
This shows what characters are not allowed in BW characteristic values.
You should check if the character is allowed, and then you can solve the problem in one of the following ways:
1) add this character to the "permitted character" list in RSKC as described in the note.
2) correct the value in the source system.
3) correct the value in the PSA (to do this, you will need to delete the request from the ODS object and then you can change the disallowed character via the PSA maintenance).
4) follow Note 1075403 so that the characters HEX00 to HEX1F are not checked (this affects only characteristics that do not allow "lower case").
5) if you cannot use any of the above options, then you will need to create a routine in your transfer rules for the affected infoobject, and change the value to a character which is permitted in BW.
These are the usual ways to solve this issue.

How to update data from PSA to target in BI 7.0

Hi all,
can you pls tell me the procedure/process to load data from PSA to data target. We got a load failure while activating the data in DSO.We made necessary changes to the incorrect data in PSA and we saved. When i run the DTP again it gives me 0 records. Is there any option like in 3.5 where we can select the PSA right click.....schedule the update/start the update immediate. or any other process which solves my problem.

A new object concept is available for the ETL process as sap Net Weaver 2004. To implement the EDW layer paradigm, sap has changed the concept of the ETL data flow and process design.
    The most important innovations in the modified object concept are as followes.
1. When a Datasource is activated, a PSA table is generated in the inbound laywr of the BI so that data
   can already be loaded.
2 The infopackage is only used to load the data from the source system into PSA.
3 This is followed by the data transfer proccess (DTP) step to transfer data within the BI from one
   persistent object to another by using transformation and filters,
4 The definition for which data targets the data from the Datasource is to be updated into occurs in
   transformations. this is also where fields of Datasource are assigned to infoObjects of the target
   objects in bi.

Urgent : Error while loading data from PSA to DSO

I am working on 7.0.
When i look for data into PSA then i have 1 date field which is containing data in proper date format. This date field is mapped with 0CALMONTH & 0CALYEAR for which i have written routine and directly assigned to 0DOC_DATE .
I have written a start routine to do some modifications in SOURCE_PACKAGE.
But When i am loading data from PSA to DSO its giving below error:
" Exception wrong_date ; see long text RSTRAN 303
Diagnosis
An exception wrong_date was raised while executing function module
RST_TOBJ_TO_DERIVED_TOBJ .
System Response
Processing the corresponding record has been terminated.
Procedure
To analyze the cause, set a break point in the program of the
transformation at the call point of function module
RST_TOBJ_TO_DERIVED_TOBJ . Simulate the data transfer process to
investigate the cause. "

The code is used to read from any date and convert that into Fiscal year/period.
Try this code.

Unable to load the data from PSA to INFOCUBE

Hi BI Experts, good afternoon.
    I am loading 3 years data( Full load ) from R/3 to Infocube.
   So loaded the data by monthwise. So i created 36 info packages.
Everything is fine. But i got a error in Jan 2005 and Mar 2005. It is the same error in both months. That is Caller 01and caller 02 errors( Means invalid characteristics are there PSA data )
So i deleted both PSA and Data target Requests and again i loaded the data only to PSA.
Here i got data in PSA without fail.
Then i tried to load the data from PSA to Infocube MANUALLY.
But its not happening.
One message came this
       SID 60,758 is smaller than the compress SID of cube ZIC_C03; no        request booking.
   Please give me the solution how to solve this problem.
