Transfer of Existing Phone Book

Usually when the sim card is transferred over to a new phone all the phone book info stays intact. I transferred my sim card from my existing AT&T account phone to my new IPhone but the names and numbers from my phone book do not show up. Can anyone explain why this is, I do not have that information on my computer.
Angel

So I take it I then will have to manually input all of those 100 plus names ans phone# again??? Wow...bummer!
Why not enter all your phone numbers / contacts into your computers address book / contacts and then sync it to your iphone. That way you have them saved on your computer for future needs and the syncing process will bring them all over to the phone.
Contacts
Since iPhone takes contact information from existing applications on your computer, Apple recommends using Address Book, Entourage, Outlook, Outlook Express, or Yahoo! Address Book to prepare your contacts for automatic synchronization with iPhone, and suggests you get phone numbers and e-mail addresses up to date. Notes that you can also enter contact information directly into iPhone, as well.

  • Getting phone book off of old phone and into iphone

How do you transfer the old phone book off of the nokia I had to the I phone and yes I have it downloaded onto a drive but the web site that att gave me to download cellebriteusa content manager file doesn't work and I am on a g4

In general, you need to transfer the phone book from your phone to your PC in some sort of standard format, like a Comma Separated Values (CSV) file. You can then import it into iCal or Outlook.
Many applications give you the choice to "Save As" or "Export". If the application you use to extract the phone book from your Nokia has one of these, you can use it to create a file in a format that iCal or Outlook will like. From there, iTunes will sync them over to your iPhone.

  • UCCX Global Phone book

    Hi Folks,
I have a UCCX 7.0(1) SR5 Build 5.04 installation. I am trying to do a bulk upload of the customer's coroporate phone book using CAD Admin., however I dont see any Import or Export buttons on the admin phone book edit screen. Is this supported in 7.0(1) or do we have to go to 7.0(2) If the answer is no, how do we organise a bulk upload. Is it possible?
    Thanks in advance
    Bruce Wilkinson

You can import phone books in CSV format.
See page 50 of the Cisco Desktop Administrator User Guide.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_7_0/user/guide/cda66ug-cm.pdf
    To import a phone book:
1.Make sure the phone book CSV file is formatted correctly, as specified in the section, “CSV File Format” on page 50.
2.In the Phone Book window, click Edit. The Phone Book Editor window appears (Figure 19 on page 48).
    3.Click Import.
Any CSV files located in the default folder C:\Program Files\Cisco\Desktop\config are listed. If your file is located somewhere else, click Find folder to browse to its location.
4.Select the file you want to import and then click Okay. The phone book is imported and is added to the list of available phone books in the Current List pane.
The CSV file name (without the CSV suffix) becomes the phone book name. If that name is already in use, you will be asked if you want to replace the existing phone book with the imported phone book. If you do not want to replace the existing phone book, cancel the import, rename the CSV file, and try again.
5.Click OK to close the Phone Book Editor window.

  • How do i copy an existing tel# from my phone book ...

    hi there,
by now i am pretty frustrated. i am coming from a nokia 6280 which made it simple to include an existing object (tel#, note, calender event, you name it) into an sms, mms or email. my n95 does not do a thing like that. i could include a template but when i like to embed an email address or any number or given text i fail. even if i use the copy function the n95 announces that that number was copied into its memory but when i like to paste what supposedly is copied nothing appears.
and yes i know that i could send a visiting card but that exactely is not what i intend to do, i want to paste at least names or numbers from my phone book into an sms or a an email or an mms!
uff, i thought technical advances would make one happy, but my step from the 6280 to the n95 seems more a step back into the dark ages at least in the area i described above.
any ideas or am i simply even more stupid then i thought to be
    cheers jochen

  • Unable to transfer my phone book

I'm having trouble transferring my phonebook to an apline KCE-300BT bluetooth interface. Any help would be greatly appreciated??? Thanks!

By what method do you transfer the phone book in laptop?
These two most of the time works; by doing a one-way synch(phonebook of old phone) to outlook, making the phone dominant in resolving conflict. Then doing the reversed(in new phone) making outlook dominant in resolving conflict.
The other way is just doing a backup & restore with latest pcsuites that supports both phones. Not only phonebook is restore but almost all items in memory of old.
    Check which one suits you!

  • Nokia 6275i cdma phone book transfer

Can i transfer my phone book to a computer through pc suite
    in nokia 6275i cdma phone

    Try this
Common methods of transferring data are:
Transferring phone numbers via SIM card
    Transferring data via Memory Card
    Transferring data via Bluetooth
    Transferring data via PC
Transfer via PC is the most effective, but it initially requires more effort to set up. You will need to download and install PC Suite software on your compatible PC and ensure that a number of variables line up, including PC Suite version, Windows operating system, and connection method compatibility.
Transfer via memory card is the easiest method as long as both models support the same size of memory card. SIM card transfer is a simple method for transferring phone numbers only.
Transferring phone numbers via SIM card
SIM card transfer makes sense if you are only transferring phone numbers. Copy the phone numbers to your SIM card, remove the SIM card from your previous phone, insert it into your new phone, and store the phone numbers in your new phone's memory. For basic phone models without additional memory, the phone numbers may already be stored on the SIM card.

  • Multi address phone book

The contact us section is not user friendly since mails are difficult to get submitted with filled in fields usually reverting back esp when using a smart.phone on the move.Exasperated I am.sending this feedback along with the query to forwarded to customer care as also a general email id and a 24x7 toll free and chargeable phone number with a sms number too will go a long way ubdermmibibg redressing customer queries and complaints
Currently I would be upgrading two of my LG phones which has a multi address phone book with multi fields like home number, office name and number, fax&email etc.Since I have more than 2000 numbers stored in the 500 phone entry LG due to the facility of multi address phone book, therefore I would like to know whether the upcoming Nokia asha 210&also the existing 302 has a multi address phone book which I have shortlisted for immediate buying to avail the ease of a qwerty one though I am also using a Samsung galaxy ace.Besides whether both the 210&302 is having a call recording feature which would be highly beneficial in my practise as one has to retrieve info from patients for medical analysis etc.A flash in both 210&302 is essential too for the stylish models to become complete and comprehensive which only can help beat the competition and therefore please also forward this to the Nokia R&D section

Yes, however, the Nokia Suite does not work with the Nokia Asha 210. This makes it difficult to transfer so many contacts. Furthermore, there is a limit at 1000 entries. The Nokia Asha 302 is fine as it works with the Nokia Suite and should support 2000 entries.
However, do not nail me on that, I am just an end-consumer like you. Series 40 UMTS supports 2000 entries, that is my rule of thumb. Anyway, 2000 is the absolute maximum. So you might hit another problem.

Yes, hidden behind the Option key.

  • UCCX CAD Phone Books - Default 'Filter' to On?

    Hi All
I'm not expecting much of a response on this one - but thought I'd try anyway!
When performing a transfer or dial, the phone book page is displayed. There are filter options/entry boxes displayed right away, which do absolutely nothing until the 'filter' box is checked.
Now - to me this is a UI bug.. unless I'm missing something obvious, the boxes/drop downs for the filter should be greyed out until 'filter' it ticked.. or better still, the 'filter' box would not exist, as the drop downs and text box don't seem to serve any other purpose they could be operational all the time.
What I'm asking here is - does anyone know of a way to set the 'filter' option to enabled by default?
    UCCX is 8.0.something
    Thanks
    Aaron

I know this thread is a couple of years old. But just want to point out UCCX 10 has this issue aswell, so I can only assume Cisco doesn't have any intention on allowing the the phonebook filter to be set to 'On' by default. Please update if anyone knows differently.

  • How to transfer the whole address book from one no...

    Dear friend,
Could you please advise me "how to transfer the whole address book from one nokia to another nokia phone via blue tooth connectivity. (move one by one is not convenience for my hundreds of contact.
    Thank and waiting for advice...
    victor

If your phones have the built-in "Transfer" (sometimes called "Switch") application, try it.
Otherwise, depending on the model(s) you can also copy all contacts to/from the memory card, and get them over that way.
And you can also synchronize both programs to the same service (e.g., Outlook on a Windows PC using Nokia PC Suite).
And newer versions of Nokia PC Suite can also be used to make a backup of one phone, and then restore to another.
PC Suite you can find here: http://www.nokia.com/pcsuite
