Transfer of FiOS Service to a new location
We are building a house and transferring our existing FiOS account (internet/TV/phone) to this new address. Verizon Tech Team said FiOS is available at the new address and the new connection will be Aerial. New house is a pipe-stem house with a 500 ft driveway surrounded by woods. Only thing we can see is a new electric pole the utility company put at the beginning of the drive way. They ran the electric cable underground the entire length of the driveway to power-up the house. Can anybody explain how Verzon is bringing the FiOS Fiber optic cable to the house Aerially?

If they're putting an Aerial cable up they'll most likely be installing another pole onto the property. 500ft is going to need to need a few poles from where the trunk is to reach your home so they are not extending the cable leaving it to hang freely for too much of a distance. They may also do an underground burial if all of your utilities are supposed to be underground. It's hard to say how they will accomplish that if your home is surrounded entirely by a forest but it shouldn't be any different from how they'd hook up a copper telephone line.
Regardless, Verizon will figure it out when they come out to hook up your service and they should install anything that is needed to get the cable to reach you.

Error Creating New Location in Business Rules
I have installed System 11.1.1.x EAS Web on Windows / WebLogic. When I log into EAS as 'Admin' I can log into Business Rules and Create a New Location. When I log in as any other user, I get a message that "Business Rules Login Successful" but when I try to create a New Location I get and error. I get to the select location screen. When I expand (+)Essbase, I see my Essbase Server. When I expand my Essbase Server, I get this error message:

The user has all provisions in SS for Essbase and Applications (Server Access as well as Application Administrator). I can explore all the Essbase applications in EAS.
I have double checked all the provisions and refershed security in EAS. I am still getting the same error.
Here are a few more interesting things that I have noticed from debugging. The only account with the ability to create "New Locations" or Associate a Business Rule with an Essbase Application is "admin". If I deprovision "admin" in SS, I can no longer create New Locations. If I add the provisions back for "admin" then I can create New Locations. So, that tells me that BR is looking at SS for provisioning of "admin".
Here is another interesting message in hbrserver.log.

How To Use Your Own Router with Out Loosing Verizon's FIOS Services
How to use your own router with Verizon’s FIOS Service
First, you need a basic understanding of how FIOS works but unfortunately there are two types of FIOS systems out there. All of the systems utilize a fiber optic cable to bring TV, phone and internet to your location over one optic cable. In addition these systems provide interactivity including widgets, remote DVR, movies on demand and so forth via an IP (Internet Protocol) signal. Your STB (Set Tip Box) requires both a video and IP signal. The IP signal is necessary for all of the aforementioned interactivity. The fiber cable terminates at the Optical Network Terminal or ONT for short. The ONT converts the optics into a digital signal that can be utilized by ones equipment. From the ONT your video, phone and internet are provided to the location. This is where things can differ as the internet signal can be provided via a coaxial (MoCA or Multimedia over Coax Alliance) or RJ45 Cat5 (Ethernet) cable. It is important to identify and understand the differences of these two setups. In my case I have my internet entering via Ethernet cable, which in my humble opinion makes things a heck of a lot easier.
How does one tell the difference? In most cases it’s rather simple; just look at the Verizon’s router WAN (Wide Area Network) Port. Does it have a RJ45 (Ethernet) or Coax (TV cable Cord) going to it? If the router’s WAN port doesn’t have a coaxial connector then one will need to convert the MoCA signal into a usable Ethernet signal that routers understand. The easiest way is to use Verizon’s router as a bridge. In this method the Verizon’s router simply converts the signal and passes it along to your own router. The challenge is to try to maintain the interactivity that FIOS TV provides. Because of this one needs to supply the IP routed signal back to the FIOS router. There are multiple methods for doing this and I would recommend investigates which one make the most sense.
In my particular case the IP signal was provided by Ethernet. Again there are various ways of installing one’s own router. The hardest is to utilize Verizon’s router as a bridge. This setup requires configuring Verizon’s router as a bridge and also creating a VLAN (Virtual Local Area Networks). In addition one needs to set up their own router so it will work with the various routing tables and networks. For me this is too complex for the average person and it can be difficult to trouble shoot if something goes wrong. Please consider that Verizon will not support utilizing third party routers.
The easier method is to request an Ethernet signal (if you don’t already have one) from their ONT. I would highly recommend getting your hands on a NIM or Network Interface Module. This device is used to convert Ethernet to Coaxial so it can be fed back to your STBs. These can be purchased online and Verizon technicians can be a valuable resource with these sorts of acquisition. At the very least they can point you to the right direction. Once you have a NIM the rest is rather simple.
Log into the current Verizon Router.
Located the router’s MAC address and copy it down.
Go to the port forwarding section and copy down the Applied Rules.
Example:
Network Computer/Device: 192.168.1.100:63145
Application & Ports Forward: Application UDP Any -> 6347
Note: There may be up to three entries for each one of your Set Top Boxes.
Look at your current device list, typically found on the home screen. Copy down your STB MAC and IP address.
Example:
IP-STB1
Connection Type: Ethernet
* IP Address: 192.168.1.100
IP Address Allocation: DHCP
*MAC Address: 07:73:fFe:ad:8b:3f
* Things you will need to write down
Go to the network section and look for the main Ethernet connection. Select this and then select more setting, typically found at the bottom. Release the current lease.
Remove the Verizon router
Install your router
Connect the NIM by plugging in an Ethernet from one of the routers LAN (Local Area Network) ports to your NIM. Then connect the coax cable, the same cable that was used by Verizon router.
Set you DHCP routing IP pool to accommodate Verizon’s STB IP’s (note their IP’s start at 192.168.1.100)
Go to DHCP section and reserve the STB IP’s by inserting the IP’s and MAC addresses. This shall ensure that nothing else utilizes the same IPs as the STBs thereby preventing IP address conflict.
Add the port forwards from Step 5 above.
Clone Verizon’s Mac Address utilizing the info from step 2
Finish setting up the router in typical fashion.
Unplug and re-plugin your STB’s and test functionality. It’s best to try using a widget or Movie on demand function.
Note: if the new router can net get an internet signal contact Verizon’s support and have them release the IP and reset the ONT.
EVERYTHING should be working at this point.3 Go to the port forwarding section and copy down the Applied Rules.
Example:
Network Computer/Device: 192.168.1.100:63145
Application & Ports Forward: Application UDP Any -> 6347
Note: There may be up to three entries for each one of your Set Top Boxes.G

the port addr's will be 63145 alo incrementing by 1
there is 1 entry for each in my pf list
however each ip addr also has a port entry starting at 35000 also incrementing by 1 for each ip addr
For some unknow reason these are duplicated e.g I appear to have 11 entries exaactly the same for each stb and as the fios services rules have no action switc there is nowhere to delete the extraneous garbage.

Error while running service tax program (New)
Hi
I have created S3 as interim tax code and S4 as final tax code. I assigned S4 to S3 as a target tax code. Entries are perfectly flowing.
But when i do service tax program for, session is created properly. When i run it in SM35, for gived error
"Tax code S4 may only contain one assignment line"
I have given routine 166 in OBQ3 for ECess and SHEC.
I tells me to do following procedure:
Use a different tax code.
For direct postings to a tax account, you might have to define a separate tax code for which only one line with a percentage rate other than zero is active in percentage rate maintenance. All other lines must be inactive.
Please help me.

Availability of FIOS Service in NE DC
I recently moved into a new townhouse community in Dec. 2011. Shortly thereafter, Verizon contractors visited the site to install the underground wires and outside boxes necessary for Verizon FIOS service. I contacted customer service sometime in late January/early February to inquire about when FIOS or High-Speed Internet service would be available and was told it would happen sometime in late April.
To this day, every time I inquire about service I'm told they can't tell me when it will be available. I can CLEARLY see the Verizon utility boxes from my windows yet customer service never seems to have any answers. Now mind you, since then Comcast has installed their utility boxes, ran their underground wires, and got their service up and running!
This is a large, new townhouse community that would like to have options when it comes to our TV and Internet needs. I'm starting to think that Verizon isn't interested in acquiring any of our business since information provided is little to none. I'm trying my best to wait on these services to become available (without getting stuck in a 2 year contract with Comcast) but it's going on 6 months and I need service! Any information about the potential delivery date of services would be greatly appreciated (and please don't tell me to sign up for service notifications; been there, done that).WallyB wrote:

I'm moving an internal hard drive from an old computer to a new computer. (My new compute runs Windows 8.1) How do I transfer the catalog data to my new computer so the Organizer of Photoshop Elements 6 will find the data on the hard that has been moved to the new computer? Is this possible or do I have to use the procedure of copying the catalog along with the photos to a back up hard drive and then restore them on the new computer?
The 'normal' procedure is to do a PSE organizer backup (not a copy or a backup from external tools) to an external drive, then a restore to the new location.
The advantage is that you have a backup of both catalog and media files and you don't have all disconnected files, which would happen with external backup tools. Also, if you restore with a more recent elements version, the catalog will be automatically updated to the new format.
The drawback in your situation is that you'll have either to overwrite all your files or restore to a custom location, creating a duplicate photo library (which supposes you have enough free space).
It would be possible to simply use the organizer in the old PC to move the catalog to a new 'custom' folder just under your C: root drive. The catalog would be accessible once the drive will be installed in the new PC. Then you would have all files 'disconnected' due to the fact that all your media files are now on a drive with a different letter. Reconnecting a whole library is a hard job with PSE6, less so with PSE11/PSE12.
If the idea of fiddling with the sqlite database with external sqlite manager tools is ok for you, I can describe the process more in detail. You only copy your catalog folder (as suggested above) to another location. Instead of trying the 'reconnection' way, you install the sqlite utility on the new computer. When the old drive is installed in the new computer, you simply edit a given record in the catalog database, catalog.psedb, and start the organizer with your copied catalog by simply double clicking the 'catalog.psedb' file.
Even if the last solution is much, much quicker, I would still create a new PSE backup : you have never too much safety . -

Did you set up your new computer by creating a Time Machine backup and restoring from it?
If so, the Events and Projects that were on your internal Macintosh HD would copied to your new computer.
Here is another way to copy the events & projects to the new computer from the external drive:

Service created with New-Service does not start

I am trying to create a working service using the New-Service cmdlet. I tried a bunch of different examples, I found on the internet like this one from technet:
new-service -name TestService -binaryPathName "C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs" -dependson NetLogon -displayName "Test Service" -StartupType Manual -Description "This is a test service."
The service gets created and is listed in services.msc and Get-Service but I cannot start it. Ever. The state changes to "Starting" but that's all.
I tried it on different machines with different Windows- and PowerShell versions using elevated PS-consoles.

I tested on my client, and I also keep getting the error 1053, which indicates timeout and the new created service can not be started during the limit time, so you can try to change the service time limit, please note this needs to change registry value,

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control
a.Point to New, and then click DWORD Value. In the right pane of Registry Editor, notice that New Value #1 (the name of a new registry entry) is selected for editing.
b.Type ServicesPipeTimeout to replace New Value #1, and then press ENTER.
c.Right-click the ServicesPipeTimeout registry entry that you created in step c, and then click Modify. The Edit DWORD Value dialog box appears.
d.In the Value data text box, type TimeoutPeriod, and then click OK

New location not showing up in Federated result webpart

I made a new Location to federated locations like in

Re-connecting Elements 9 to a New Location
I have copied all my images - around 500Gb - to a new (larger) external Hard Drive. The transfer took about 16 hours.
Can anyone advise how I move/reconnect the Adobe Elements catalog to point to the new location?
The answer I'd not like to hear is that I need to re-copy these source media files through instructions within Elements 9. I can't believe it's above a smart software developer's ability or insight to predict that would be a common occurrence for Elements users and to have made it an easy process to ‘re-point’ their product to the new content location.

As you say, you are starting with a very sophisticated tree organization, with deliberate file name duplications for instance, with a lot of external disks : I have never seen anything like this before... no I am wrong : its just a little more that what I did before starting to use Elements ten years ago
Now its obvious to me that I have given you too much info, too many links and that has not helped you to understand how to solve your problems. Most of your objections in your last post show that you have missed the answers already given.
Before applying the best methods to reconnect, there are facts you have to understand.
- any database organizing system (DAM) like the Organizer, Lightroom or more sophisticated ones, provide ways to insure easy retrieval and grouping of media, sorting and rating, keeping track of originals and versions. That's also your goal.
- you have created your own system (very similar to my own one, 10 years ago). The question is : do you consider it as the ultimate goal, or simply a means to achieve the above general goal ?
- You want to keep your own organization : it's quite possible to do so even if it is redundant, and totally opposed to any database system philosophy. For instance, you understand that your Organizer catalog only contains paths to your selectec working files and totally ignores others. The builtin tools to move, rename, delete or backup/restore ignore other files. You don't want to use them precisely because you want to control all files. All those database systems can solve the final organization goals : they can deal with hundred of thousands pictures, keeping track of originals as well as version sets, they nearly completely free you of the task of thinking about folders. You simply have to use them, and trust them.
- Do you really think that there is a market to develop such personal solutions ? As I said before it is possible to keep your organization together with the standard one, but that means only useless complexity. Even if the developers of Elements are not the smartest, they are working with the same choice as other elaborate systems like Lightroom : trust the software and understand and use it.
- "Buyers beware..." There, you are right. There are other kinds of tools, and it should be obvious that many users cannot accept to trust a software and stop thinking about folders : they are right in thinking the Organizer is not the right tool for them.

- You are also partly right here : the Organizer was first introduced at a time when using external disks was not common. But you are wrong in that : the way to change disk or upgrade hardware or software version has been widely covered (see my links and Adobe's help) and there are safe ways included, especially the backup and restore way, the moving files way and ways of reconnecting (even if those are not as powerful as in Lightroom). Then managing only a subset of pictures has never been a problem, except if you insist on your sophisticated tree arborescence with duplicate names.
Now, to solve your problem .:
First did you read and can you follow the instructions in the 2nd link (quickly reconnecting...) I gave you ?
There would be two other ways to do the job, but the fact that you have already reconnected some files might be a problem.
- First : simply do the standard migrating way in the Organizer : backup your catalog to one of your external disks, and simply restore to the custom location keeping the same tree organization on your new drive. That's time consuming, but simple and safe and there is no risk for your original master files : the catalogued files will be restored in the right subfolders, totally ignoring duplicate file names.
- The last resort... I won't give it here because it requires direct changes in the sqlite database contained in your catalog. I am sure that for one person that might help, I would cause severe troubles for dozens of others... I also think that if smart developers wanted to implement this catalog update following a drive change, they would meet many problems like yours because of seemingly identical situations hiding custom differences in personal organization. -
BO6.5 ORB error after moving server to new location

Our server was forklifted to a new location within our network, so the IP address changed but everything else remains the same. Now we are unable to restart the BO server. We found a location in the Configuration Tools > ORB setting where the IP was hardcoded. We were able to change the IP after stopping all BO services running on the server, but we could not complete the setting change as we keep getting the following error - "Configuration script cannot be started (Error: CFT 06002)". What steps did you perform in the Configuration Tools to update the IP address? Can you provide details?
You may have to Update the ORB or completely recreate it.
Note that if you recreate the ORB, you need to backup your Storage folder.
But before proceeding with the above, please check the following note:
1182500 - Error: "Configuration script cannot be started(Error: CFT 06002)" when customer trying to update the ORB
Symptom
When trying to update the ORB the following error message appears: "Configuration script cannot be started(Error: CFT 06002)" You are then unable to ping the IP address for a server name.
Cause
The "C:/Winnt" or "Windows/System32" value is missing for the System variable PATH.
Resolution
Perform the following steps:
- Add C:/Winnt or Windows/System32 to the System variable PATH.
- Reboot the server.
- Update the ORB.

I am developing small EWS client. For initial testing I wrote simple code:
