Transfer of games to iPod Classic

I previously had 5th Gen 80gb but have upgraded to a 160gb - only issue is that myt games esp Bejewelled have not transferred although in the itunes store it does say that the game is compatible with the classic - anyone know how to get the games transferred?

If you bought the games for your 5G prior to the release of the 6G, then those games aren't compatible. I've (thankfully) only got three games I bought before my classic. If I want to play them on the classic, I'd have to rebuy them.
That info you see on the iTunes store is for buying the games now. When you do, code for the 5 and 6 G is included and you only run the code for the system you own. Those older games didn't come with 6G code though, so that option's not available.

How do I transfer music form one Ipod classic to another?

Music cannot be transferred from iPod directly to another.  You'll need to make sure the music on the iPod is in your iTunes library first. Once you have done that (if it even needs to be done) go ahead and sync it to the 2nd iPod.

load the current version of I tunes on the laptop and sync the pod.  Then sync the phone - you can select all or as much of the music you want to.
Also - if the music on the pod was purchased from the itune store in the first place, you should be able to redownload it to the phone for free, as long as you are using the same apple id that it was bought with.

  • Games for Ipod classic

Hello, Anybody knows why there isn´t games for Ipod classic on itunes? last year I purchase Pacman game and now I don't find a link anymore.
    thanks

I can never find them through the iTunes store in iTunes. But what I do is google "ipod classic games" and usually the first link is an Apple page, that will link your iTunes to the Classic games store. It's weird, but it's the only way I've found to get in. Now, if these games weren't all $4.99 I might actually get one or two. It's pretty criminal that games for the older-school iPod are 5 bucks, while the Touch has better games, some for $.99 and others for free.
Apple should wise up and start discounting the Classic games. They'd make a killing.

  • How do you transfer songs from my iPod Classic to my new computer? The only songs that transfer are those that I purchased on iTunes. Is there a 3rd party website or something?

I am trying to transfer 3000 songs from my iPod Classic to my new computer. The only songs that transfer are those that I have purchased on iTunes (242 songs). All of the music from my CD collection that I have on my iPod Classic will not transfer. What (if any) is the best 3rd party website that will assist?

  • My iTunes crashed and no longer has play counts; how do I transfer playcounts from my iPod Classic back into iTunes11?

About a week ago, my harddrive crashed and we finally ran a scan and got rid of the corrupted data. Unfortunately, the corrupted data happened to be my iTunes library. Everything was wiped--my iCloud stuff, CDs I'd downloaded, mp3s I'd gotten in music swaps with friends, everything. I managed to recover all the stuff from the Cloud but all my playcounts and other data was missing. I have all the information still on my iPod classic but I can't figure out how to transfer it back into iTunes, as I really would like to keep my playcounts and playlists intact.
    Any advice?

  • HT1329 Can you transfer photos off the ipod classic?

Recently my hard drive in my MacBook Air crashed so I was wondering if I could transfer my photos that were originally placed on the Ipod Classic with a MacBook Air off of my Ipod Classic onto another Mac? If so how? Thanks

You can do that (in a useable form) only if you had a particular setting enabled when you synced the photos to the iPod.  To find this setting, select the iPod in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES.  Over to the right, go to the Photos tab.  On that screen, there is a checkbox that says Include full-resolution photos.  IF that checkbox was checked when you synced the photos to the iPod, they are stored separately on the iPod as individual image files.  You just need to Enable disk use (on the iPod's Summary tab), and use Finder to open the iPod's "disk."  The image files are in a folder called Photos.
If that checkbox was not checked, the photos on iPod only exist in an optimized format to fit the small iPod screen and they are stored in a special "database" file (to save as much storage space as possible on iPod).  Therefore, they are not in a format that is directly usable, and they are low resolution, so even if they were extracted (using a third-party utility), they would look highly pixelated when enlarged to computer screen size.

  • HT1351 Using OverDrive Media from my library I can't transfer audiobooks to my ipod classic

Can anyone tell me how to configure my ipod Classic so I can transfer audiobooks from the library using OverDrive Media.  These particular books are labeled "ipod compatible" but when I try to transfer, after downloading to my computer, I get an error message saying they can't be transferred to my ipod.  I selected the option on my ipod to manually manage something which I know requires that I eject my ipod before disconnecting it from the computer.  Any other help?

What format are these audiobook tracks in? If it's the WAV format it will not work with the iPod Classic. You'll want to use the MP3 version instead from OverDrive.

  • How to transfer iPhoto events from iPod Classic to Mac

I have an old iPod Classic 80GB and used to sync all my iPhoto events with it (full resolution pictures and disk use enabled).
Now my MacBook White HD crashed, and I would like to transfer all the events to a MacBook Air running Mountain Lion (v10.8.2). I could easily copy and paste the "Full Resolution" folder, which has all the pictures. However, I could not manage a way of transfering the photos metadata, i.e., I was unable to transfer the events' names along with the photos or keep them sepparated in events.
I have read this article http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1930, according to which the iPhoto should identify my iPod and would be able to import the pictures. But the iPhoto (v9.4.2) can't "see" the iPod (perhaps because it's a much newer iPhoto version compared to the one running in my old Tiger MacBook White). And if it could, I'm afraid it wouldn't identify the events in which every group of pictures is split.
How can I import the photos sepparated in iPhoto events from my iPod Classic to the Mac? Any ideas?

Yes, iPhoto is the best choice for you.

  • How do I transfer music from my Ipod Classic to Itunes on my new computer?

I recently upgraded my computer and I want to transfer my music from my Ipod classic to the new system.  How do I do it?  If I sync the Ipod, the music will be lost.

    Hi JRSandner,
Thanks for the question. Based on what you stated, it seems like you want to download content from the iPod to the computer. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
