Transfer of mobileMe archived e-mail to iCloud

I am a mobileMe user. I want to move to the cloud but I'm afraid that I may lose the very important e-mails I have stored in the archive mail folder of mobileMe. Can I rest assured that they will move, also is there a way to back up all that archive mail?
Thanks,
Chris

Thx Winston,
I can count the send item. But let me try to explain why did I ask this question.
I had a trouble in sending e-mails from icloud on 22/2 and when I saw in my send item there were no emails.
But the mesgs to whom I emailed received and out of which only few of them didn't got the email. So I wanted to know the log abt the outflow of the mesg with subject and the receipants email id and the list with attachment or not.
How and where will I get the information apart from send item and draft mesg and the outflow undelivered?
Regards
Sarfaraz

Your first theory may be correct.
If you haven't already, change your password on your .mac account. That will stop any further action by the other fellow. Even if you can't tease out the detail of what happened exactly, you can at least fix the problem with the password change.
Also if you left on good terms, contact the new owner of the workMac and ask if s/he used your .mac account.

  • How can I transfer all my photos on iPhone to iCloud for archive and delete them off my phone?

I do not want to simply backup my phone with iCloud.  My iPhone's memory is full and I would like to transfer all my 10,000+ photos to iCloud for safe keeping, and delete them off my phone.  Could I do that?  I know that iCloud is typically used for backing up the phone and works like a 'mirror' to the phone, but I want to use it more as an archive drive.  Please advise!

The only iCloud feature that meets this requirement is the iCloud Photo Library (Beta). I don't think that I would trust all my photos to a Beta-level product.
You could create a Dropbox Account and move the photos to it or move the photos to your computer.

  • Why can't I push my mail from iCloud to my MobileMe account?

I recently moved to iCloud and yesterday my MobileMe account stopped working. I update my software to OSX Lion and I can't figure out how to psh my mail from my iCloud account back to my MobileMe account. Can you help?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
iCloud and MobileMe are similar but separate services, iCloud is replacing MobileMe. Having migrated to iCloud you should now only use your iCloud account. You can access your iCloud e-mail, in your mail application by enabling it in system preferences >iCloud .

  • When I open my mail on iCloud it opens in Archive... how do I change this?

I want to be taken to my Inbox, not the Archive, when I open my mail in icloud.com.  This seems very strange for it to default to archive.  It didn't always do this.  I've checked "Preferences" and cannot find anything where I can change what folder is the default when you open up iCloud Mail.  Please help!

Change the zoom level in the document's properties, under Open Options.

There is no Mobile Me anymore. It has been gone for several years, now. However, your existing calendar and mail will integrate with iCloud if you enable it on your system.

Go to icloud.com from your computer, sign into your iCloud account and launch Mail, click the gear icon on the lower left and choose Preferences, then on the General tab yo can set up forwarding to forward email to your Gmail account.

  • Importing family MobileMe calendars and accounts into iCloud and living to tell the tale...

I have been staring at this for a long time and I hope this doesn't turn out to be as much of a brain twister as the early builds of MobileMe did. However, since I guess there must be plenty of us in the same boat, I figure this might be a good place to put together what we know and share our triumphs and disasters.
I have just installed 10.7.2 and the only mistake I have made to far was to hit the iCloud button and set iCloud up before I had read every single one of the FAQs, but then again, I haven't found any which address this problem. But I am sure that other people are already experiencing it.
We have a family MobileMe account, the main login being (we'll say) [email protected], which is the one I use; my wife uses [email protected] and our daughter uses [email protected]. The [email protected] is used purely for mail, contacts and calendars and nothing else worth mentioning.
    Now comes the tricky bit.
We have a separate AppleId, based on a non-Apple email, which we will call [email protected].
When I upgraded to 10.7.2 and set up iCloud for my iMac, I (unthinkingly) set up [email protected] as the iCloud account and then (after I had realised this maybe wasn't such a smart move) set up my iCloud Mail, Contacts and Calendars to sync to we'll say [email protected], although I didn't transfer my MobileMe Mail, Calendar and Contacts across. Because I have an existing MobileMe account, this data is still associated with MobileMe.
The 64 dollar question is this: can I set up the two other iMacs in this house to use the [email protected] AppleId, set their iCloud emails to perhaps [email protected] and [email protected], then transfer all the MobileMe accounts across to the [email protected] addresses and keep all the data separate? Or is it the case that you can only run one set of mail, contacts and calendars from a single AppleId?
    Or…
Are we going to have to create three separate AppleIds to run mail, contacts and calendars in iCloud and use [email protected] for the Apple Store.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated! My head hurts just from thinking about it all.
    Andrew

I cannot receive or send mail via iCloud in my Mac Mail app. I can do both by going into iCloud and accessing Mail and Calendars there.
Make sure Mail and Notes is selectded in System Preferences > iCloud

    Same for Calendars.

  • Anyone having trouble with their MobileMe email after switching to iCloud?

After making the switch to iCloud, I can't access my MobileMe email at all. When I enter my information on my phone to set up the account it verifies it, then when I go to the mail app it says the password is incorrect. When I got to my Mail map on my mac it says the server rejects my password. When I go to the mobile me and iCloud websites they tell me there is an error.

Same here - I had to turn my iphone4 Off several times and finally left if off for a few minutes - that seemed to do the trick. Once I restarted it prompted me to transfer my MobileMe account to iCloud and when I clicked OK it worked like a charm.

  • Can't log in to my (mobileme) email on Mail/Server rejecting password, Can't log in to my (mobileme) email on Mail/Server rejecting password

    Hi all,
I went to check my email in mail last night and my mobileme account was offline. (Gmail account is online no problem). I clicked to take it back online, but it wouldn't accept my password. My parents also have this address on their mail (2 x macbook pros on lion, 2 x iphone 4, 1 x ipad4 -if this is relevant!) as its our main business account. The same situation was on their devices.
I came into the studio this morning and tried the following on my computer:
-Re-setting password on iforgot. (This took a few attempts as I can't use alternative email address as it doesn't work and is years old, and it kept telling me my security question (Bday) was wrong when it was correct...) I got there in the end and changed the password successfully.
-Went to remove keychain, but there was nothing there at all for the account
-Deleting account and re-setting up. This didnt work, as it wouldnt accept my password (new or old).
This happened a few weeks ago as well, and resetting the password and resetting the account worked.
I also did the same on my parents devices, and the new account was set up fine, so we can at least access the emails via their computers.
The differences between the computers, and what I'm guessing the problem is, I am on Snow leopard (10.6.8), on old version of mail (4.5) and obviously not connected to icloud. They are on lion and the latest versions of mail, and on icloud.
I desperately don't want to upgrade to lion as I run lots of expensive software off my machine, (photoshop, illustrator, indesign, after effects etc) and don't want lion to mess them up.
Do you think the fact i'm on such an old version is the problem? Why would the account have been taken offline on the other devices initally though?
I have had different messages popping up:
"The MobileMe IMAP server “mail.me.com” rejected the password for user...."
"Logging in to the MobileMe IMAP server “mail.me.com” failed. Make sure the user name and password you entered are correct, then click Continue. If the information isn’t correct, you cannot receive messages."
And something about the certificate not being secure.
Sorry, this has been all over the place - very behind now and rushing!! Hope it makes sense and someone can help soon, as I need to send a ton of emails this afternoon off my machine! :-) Thanks in advance!!

You can continue to run most PowerPC software in Mt. Lion by installing Snow Leopard Server into Parallels 8:

  • Snow Leopard, Mail and iCloud - attacked by a Lion

I just received the following email from Apple:
You can now retain your me.com or mac.com address and keep your email
working after MobileMe ends, even if you don’t meet iCloud requirements.
I thought the "Even if you don't meet iCloud requirements" might mean Snow Leopard would be OK, but NO according to a chat with an Apple representative. I'm confused and frustrated.
I have many accounts coming into my Mac Mail - from hotmail, gmail, web email addresses, etc.  I use Mac Mail 4.5 as a hub for my home business that I'm trying to get going.  Months of work, and been a happy Mobile Me member for years.  I'm now familiar with the software I use to work my business, but much would be lost if I move to Lion.  Quite honestly, what Lion can offer, I'm not that interested in. I'd just got comfortable and forked out enough money on software etc, then a LION comes along! I want all my mail accounts still to work - ie RECEIVE AND SEND EMAIL from all my accounts
So what to do? (more hours of work caused by Apple's semi-enforced upgrade to Lion? - Am I a lone voice here?)
    Thanks for any assistance

The image you uploaded isn't working, but I'm assuming what has happened is your MobileMe account has moved to iCloud - Apple is doing this for you because they are killing MobileMe and replacing it with iCloud - and your OS (Snow Leopard) doesn't have an iCloud setting in Mail.
    But it does work.
This website has a step by step walkthrough with pictures. Very easy.
If that doesn't work, try this. The only downside to this, I believe, is that since they are setting it up as a POP account, your read/unread won't be synced. So if you read an email on your iPhone, your Mac won't know it's read. If that's not an issue for you, then go for it.
I hope everything works out for you. I know sometimes these changes can be frustrating, but they're usually for the best in the long run. It's just the transition that can be tough.
