Transfer of photo from phone / camera to iPad

When i connect the HTC phone or my Samsung camera to the iPad by the camera connection kit, I get the message: Accessories are not available. Accessories connected use too much power. What is wrong?

Meaning that they are not compatible to the iPad and they use too much power to charge via USB charge from iPad. You can still transfer photos by computer. You transfer your photos from your phone to the computer, and then sync those photos to the iPad. Note: Synced photos cannot be deleted so if you want to delete you need a computer and iTunes.

You could email it to yourself or if you are talking about lots of photos:
You can directly transfer photos and videos via WiFi between the iDevices, PCs, and Macs with an App like Photo Transfer.

Or you can upload the photos and videos to the Dropbox service using the Dropbox App on the iDevice, PC, or Mac and download them to the another device using the Dropbox App on that device.

You could try closing the Photos app completely and then re-open it to see if that makes a difference : from the home screen (i.e. not with Photos 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Photos app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
Are you adding the photos yourself to the card via a computer, or is it straight from a camera ?

I have no clue that you mean by it only shows photos from the camera icon. It has to show the photos in the camera roll of the photos app since those are the only photos that you can import via the USB cable.
There are other ways of transferring photos to a computer, but they involve using third party apps. There are WiFi transfer apps that will do this. DropBox will also let you upload photos to a public folder and then download them to a computer.

  • TS3274 How to transfer my photos from ipad to pc or memory card?

Please help if you can - I have transferred photos from my cameras memory card using an adaptor into the ipad but now cannot get these photos off to use on my PC to create a photobook URGENTLY.  I see I can sync my ipad and tranfer photos TO it but not FROM it.  Please walk me through the steps. I can't see why it couldn't be done given that they are my photos not copyright from elsewhere.  I don't have the photos on the memory card anymore so they are only on my ipad and I need to make use of them.  Thanks in advance of assistance.

You can use 3rd party apps like Photo Transfer App.

  • HT4847 i deleted some photos from my camera roll on ipad by mistake trying to get more icloud storage.  can i get them back?

I was trying to free up icloud storage in order to back up my iphone 5 using my ipad.  I mistakenly deleted some photos from my camera roll and they were deleted from both iphone and ipad photo albums.  Can I retrieve them somehow or are they gone forever?  Now I read that doesn't help to free up space...not sure what does free up space so I can back up my phone again.  Help!

Welcome to the Apple Community bonwal.
Are you sure you deleted them from your camera roll and not from photo stream.

Can I transfer photos from my iPhone to iPad without needing to use iTunes to sync?

You have a Mac, so essentially iPhoto (or Aperture, depending on what you have) stores and organizes photos. I find this very useful, because although 99.9% of my photos are from a real camera, I do occasionally take photos with my iPhone, possibly more now that I have an iPhone 4.
iTunes, as annoying as it can be at times, let's you organize what photos are moved to the iPad and iPhone. It really is easy, even for a rank beginner.
Apple also keeps a closed system for these products. Again, annoying at times, but mostly it works. You should read stories about the Android system where apps work or don't work depending on seemingly random movements of the planets. There might be something out there if you look hard, but you'll be frustrated with what happens.
I'm very happy how I control photos with Aperture, iPhone, iPad and iTunes in combination. Switch out Aperture and iPhoto, and you'll be fine too.
But, if there's a particular reason why you don't like the combination, drop a note here, and we'll try to help out.

transfer of photos from ipod to ipad via bluetooth, help

The blluetooth isn't meant to do that. It's largely meant for headphones and keyboards.
now, if you have the camera connection kit  you can attach your iPod to your iPad using that (plugging the iPod's charging cable to the USB part of the CCK) and the photos will transfer. I've done it with my Touch.

How do I transfer photos from the camera roll on my iPhone 4 to my iPad Air?

If you have a few, you can e-mail them from one device to another.
You can enable iCloud on both devices and turn on photo stream (although photo stream doesn't work retroactively so it may take some fiddling)
there are third party apps out ther for photo sharing
You can upload them to a service like dropbox, from one device, then download them onto the other one.

  • How can I get all photos from the camera roll onto the photo stream so they will share between iphone and ipad?

How can I get all photos from the camera roll, and all new pictures taken, to get on the photostream so they can share between iphone and ipad?

When turning PhotoStream on with photos available in the Camera Roll, only photos captured by the iPhone or saved on the iPhone are placed in the PhotoStream.
For all photos that were in the Camera Roll prior to turning PhotoStream on, import the photos with your computer and add the photos to your PhotoStream on your computer.

HOw can I transfer photos from my pc to iPad using iTUnes?

Connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page (though it looks like Apple are doing some maintenance at the moment so the link isn't working). You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - not including photos in a subsequent sync is how you delete them from the iPad (synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad).

My MacBook Pro does not recognize my Android Incrdible 2 cell phone and therefore I can not transfer any photos from my cell phone to my Mac. I was able to do this in the past, but can not do so now. I have not upgraded to any new software. My USB cable is plugged in properly and I just get an error message -- "No Android Device Found". What could be the problem?

I had the same issue with the Galaxy S4 trying to see what the hype was about and was my first and last android phone. With that being said unfortunately it is a hit or miss with the Mac recognizing an android device or not.  It worked perfectly fine the first time around and then it stopped working for no apparent reason. Through trial and error nothing I did solved the issue.   I did however plug it in my Mac and left it connected for about 30-40 min to charge for a bit and all of the sudden it recognizes the phone. So I just launched Android File Transfer and everything else became fluid after that.    I have no explanation as to why it happened that way, but what I gathered from this is maybe you just have to let it sit for a minute while plugged in before the Mac recognizes it, after all they are opposing software.  On a side note this is why I will always be an apple user, Iphones and the like never have this problem

I want to transfer my photos from the PC (windows explorer) to my Ipad. The problem is that a keep my photos in different categories and they are in one large folder and several subfolders (2 or 3 levels of subfolders). When I sent it to the Ipad, it just respect the first level of folder. After the first subfolder, all the photos are mixed. Any idea how to keep my original organization just transferring from PC to the Ipad (folder having a subfolder also having another subfolder)?
    Thanks
    Diogo

The Photos app doesn't currently support subfolders, it only has the one level of folder/album. You will either need to change your folder structure on your computer to be just one level, see if there is a third-party photo app in the store that copes with subfolders, or just make do.
