Transfer of WBS to Operative Structure

Dear Experts.
I have come across a unique scenario where i have a WBS element which is carrying actual cost and commitment cost in it. Now the user needs this WBS element to be transfered to other operative project.
Do we have any way where we can transfer this WBS element without affecting the cost in it. Even we are not using any settlement in this project.
is there any way we can tranfer with or without the cost in it.
Reply at the earliest will be appreciated!
Thanks and Regards
Praveen B M

Hi,
I suggest, you can create a required WBS in the relevant project and do the actual cost transfer using KB11N (WBS to WBS option). For committments you just need to change the account assignment in the origin object to the new one. Do mark the current WBS as closed and keep it to address the reporting requirements in future.

  • Error while transfer simulation version to operative.

    Hi Experts
I tried to transfer a simulation to operative in CJV4.
But i experienced the below message:
    Backward scheduling (enter finish date)
    Message no. CO028
I could not find the reason, since all the the networks have start and finish dates, still i am unable to tranfer sim to operative.
    Please advise the action.
    Warm regards
    ramSiva

    ramSiva,
As fas as I know, it is not necessary at all to maintain forecast dates before transfering from sim to operative.
As per your reply I understand that no forecast dates were maintained in the operative project before transfering to sim and that no forecast dates are maintained in the sim before transfering back to operative. Is this so, isn´t it?
I cannot think of a reason why this may be happening.
    Maybe ask OSS ???
    Sorry for no better answer

  • Sony Mobile Communications Announces New Operational Structure and Reduction in Workforce

LONDON, UK – August 23, 2012 – Sony Mobile Communications AB (“Sony Mobile”) today announced that it is altering the global operational structure of its development sites in Tokyo, Japan, Lund, Sweden and Beijing, China. In October 2012, Sony Mobile will move its corporate headquarters and certain other functions from Lund, Sweden, to Tokyo, Japan. Sony Mobile has also redefined the roles and responsibilities of each major development site to leverage the strengths of each respective site. These measures aim to enhance operational and development capabilities of Sony Mobile such as time to market efficiency, streamline supply chain management and drive greater integration with the wider Sony group.
“Sony has identified the mobile business as one of its core businesses and the Xperia™ smartphone portfolio continues to gain momentum with customers and consumers worldwide,” said Kunimasa Suzuki, President and CEO of Sony Mobile. “We are accelerating the integration and convergence with the wider Sony group to continue enhancing our offerings, and a more focused and efficient operational structure will help to reduce Sony Mobile’s costs, enhance time to market efficiency and bring the business back to a place of strength.”
In relation to the operational structure changes, Sony Mobile plans to reduce its global headcount by approximately 15 percent (approximately 1000 personnel, including consultants) throughout the financial years of 2012 and 2013 (i.e. by the end of March 2014) as the company seeks to increase operational efficiency, reduce costs and drive profitable growth.
Today Sony Mobile filed a redundancy notification (“varsel”) with the Swedish authorities to notify them that the company expects around 650 employees across a number of functions at Sony Mobile in Lund to be affected by job closures. The remaining headcount reductions will be primarily consultants in Sweden. Lund will continue to be an important strategic site for Sony Mobile, with the main focus on software and application development.
Sony Mobile is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony Corporation, following Sony Corporation’s acquisition of Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson’s 50% stake in Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB, completed on February 15, 2012.

    Well ...
Motorola Mobility has announced that it'll be giving the boot to 20 percent of its workforce in the coming months. This is one of the few restructuring steps the company is taking, after it went under Google's ownership.
In addition to the 4,000 layoffs, the company is also planning on closing a third of its 94 facilities and focusing on its hubs in Sunnyvale, California, Chicago and Beijing and scale back its presence in Asia and India. There will be some reorganization at the high levels of the company as well, as 40 percent of Moto Mobility's vice presidents will be let go.

Use the field BBSEG-PROJK, it's the WBS number in external formay (Batch-Input format) (ie PRPS-POSID)
Look in (old) [Batch Input Documents|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_45b/helpdata/en/35/a47e63763e0392e10000009b38f9b7/content.htm] for :
Structure BBSEG also contains the fields for one-time data and the data for the coding block. The screen for one-time data is displayed if you have to post to a one-time account or if an alternative payee is to be specified in the document. The data for the coding block in batch input is generally displayed on a separate screen. Here, you should note the following name differences:
         COBL-KDAUF          =     BBSEG-VBEL2     Sales order number
         COBL-KDPOS          =     BBSEG-POSN2
    Item in sales order
    COBL-RMVCT = BBSEG-BEWAR Transaction type
    COBL-PS_PSP_PNR = BBSEG-PROJK Project account assignment
    COBL-PPRCTR = BBSEG-PPRCT Partner profit center
COBL-KDEIN = BBSEG-ETEN2 Schedule line in sales order

  • Query Regarding transfer of WBS element change data

    Hi All,
We have a requirement in which we need to transfer the change/create/delete information for WBS element in SAP to a third party system for certain set of specified fields.
The problem we are facing is that the change and create information dosen't get updated in the CDHDR and CDPOS tables, but the master table for WBS element (PRPS).
One way of fetching the change information is to compare the old and new field values for the specified fields, which seems to be a tedious job.
Just wanted to know if there is any other possible solution to the above requirement????
    Thanks in advance,
    Manish Gupta

You should also include Oracle Warehouse Builder in your evaluation. It uses Oracle gateways to pull data from 3rd party databases and supports loading from flat files as well. If these data sources support ODBC, then you might be able to load via the ODBC (Generic Connectivity Gateway), wouldn't be super fast, but it you could manage the dowtime...

  • Am I able to Log and Transfer m2ts WITHOUT proper folder structure?

Basically what the question says... I've been trying to convert some m2ts footage for use with FCP, and have only just discovered that I could Log and Tranfer it. Unfortunately, the footage I would like to Log and Transfer no longer exists in the proper file/folder structure, just as m2ts files.
Is there still a simple way to use it in FCP via Log and Transfer, or at least without losing quality?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mark

You cannot use log and transfer without the folder structure. Use ClipWrap2 to transcode the media.

  • Transfer cost planning to operative

    hi
We r using CJ40 and unit costing where v r planning materials.
i want to transfer these planned material to be transferred to projects ( networks). How?
    Regards
    KP

It is not possible to transfer material codes you have used for unit cost planning.  Actual material will have to be attached to network activities manually.  As of now i.e. in ECC 6.0 there is no facility to transfer the material codes used in unit cost planning to be used for procurement directly.  However, there is a facility called easy cost planning.  Material code used there can be converted as procurement item using easy execution services.

  • PS-SD integration is it possible to create a Whole WBS Structure

    Hello to everybody,
I'm involved in project in which there is a strict integration SD-PS. Each sales order item should be assigned to a specific WBS element. I found SD/PS assignment indicator, in control data of standard project definition. i customized the coding mask to create an operative project after sales order saving which code is a suffix concatenate to sales order number. example if sales order number is 290 the project will be E-270. Unfortunately the WBS elements don't change. So the first level of WBS (the billing element) and second levels (account levels) mantain the code of standard WBS. I wish that also their operative code could be automatically determined.
In the previuos example I wish the project coming out so structured
    E-270 (project)
    E-270 (aggregating first level)
E-270-0010 (second level related to sales order item 0010)
    and so on...
Is it possible by standard. actually I tried but first and second levels are proposed as in standard project so I have to manually change them by replacing...
    Thank's in advance
    Luca Pastura

    Hello Uddhab,
thank you for your suggestion. I've tried and it seems to function. the only problem is that for the first level root the system creates a suffix equal to second level root. in other words it creates two wbs equal.
    example.
    i created the standard project
    GA.9999999999
    GA.9999999999
    GA.9999999999.09999
    GA.9999999999.00010
    GA.9999999999.00020
I assigned GA.9999999999.00010 to standard network used as template for sd order processing. when saving the sales order number 190 the system tries to generate this operative structure
    proj def GA.0000000190
    1     GA.0000000190.00010     Aggregation
    2      GA.0000000190.00010     Confirmation 0010
and it gives error as two wbs elements are equal.
    can you help me?
    thank's in advance

  • Standard WBS Elements v Operative WBS elements as templates

    Hi
I am considering the use of Standard WBS elements however one of the limitations that I have identified is that it is not possible to enter the any default settlement parameters into the WBS elements.
As our Work Breakdown structures are a combination of both operative as well as capital WBS elements (for accounting purposes) it is not possible to enter the default Settlement Profile in the project profile.  ie: Mulitple settlement profiles are used across the WBS elements for a single project profile, depending on the required accounting treatment.
Ensuring that users enter the correct settlement paramters for each WBS element cannot be gaurenteed and it does not appear possible to use sustitutions to populate these parameters.  Month end settlement is often problematic and the correct accounting treatment is essential so I am looking for alternatives.
One alternative that comes to mind is to set aside a range of operative WBS elements for use as templates.  This would then ensure that all required fields in the operative structures are pre - populated including the settlement parameters.
Has anyone used operative structures in this way and if so are there any potential issues?
    Thanks in advance.
    Ian

    Hi Hermant,
Thanks for your ongoing input.  I am still not sure my original message was clear.
The key point is that I am talking about using a range of operative structures as templates.  "lets just say the first 200 operative structures will be designated as templates."  These operative structures to be used as templates, contain different settlement parameters for each WBS element.
In your first post you mentioned.
"2. But this will not solve your purpose as copied projects will not have the settlement profile "as it is" in the std. operative WBS elements. Settlement profile gets defaulted from project profile... hence you will have to mainatin it manually again in the copied projects."
    and in your second post.
"That is what I mentioned in my earlier post... although you maintain different settlement parametes in project which is to be copied.. it won't be inherited in new project. You will have to maintain it manually..."
This is not the case, you actually do not need to maintain these settlement parameters manually when you copy an operative structure. (used as a template)  This is exactly why I am considering using operative structures and NOT standard structures as templates.  I agree, when using standard structures no settlement paramaters are inherited.
As I mentioned in my first post the Project Profile will not contain a settlement profile.  Hence when the operative structure with pre populated settlement parameters is used as a "template" and copied to create a new operative structure all settlement parameters are copied / inherited to the new operative structure.  This is the result based on my prototype.  Try this, copy an operative structure that has pre populated settlement parameters and you will see that all these settlement parameters are copied.....at least in my system that is the way it works.
I hope this helps clear up any misunderstanding.

  • How to transfer costs from one WBS to another WBS?

    Hi,
I want to transfer costs from one WBS to another. Remember two currencies are maintained viz. local and group.
So how can i transfer the balance such that both the local currency and group currency balance gets transferred.
Please ensure that the transfer should show 0 balance outstanding in CJI3 report.
I need to transfer because WBS is holding some value which was not settled in the previous year.

    Hi
You can transfer the Amount from One WBS to Another through KB11N. In this you Choose the Screen Variant as "_WBS/Network_" and do necessary steps.
    Hope it helps.

  • WBS element transfer from invoice to Fi Documents.

    Dear Friends,
    In our business process
      1. Project creation
      2. Delivery
      3. Project Invoice.
In this case we can see WBS elements in invoice item data. But this WBS elements did not transfer to Financial documents.
Please suggest me how to transfer the WBS element from Invoice to FI Documents.
    Kindly Regards
    Arun

    Hi Arun,
In the WBS masterdata, in basic data tab, if the " Account Assignment Element" is not ticked on, please tick it. After doing this, try the transaction from scratch once again. Now the posting document will have the WBS element.
