Transfer Ownership in same household

Hi. I have read several of the posts that have been helpful regarding transferring ownership and multiple ipods on one computer. I didn't find any specifics, though, on doing that within the same household. I just bought myself a new ipod and want to give my old ipod to my daughter. I don't want the old ipod to sync to my account anymore, but to her account. How do I do that? Do I just restore as was explained in an earlier post and then we can get it to sync to her account, or is there something more that needs to be done since it will be used still on the same pc? Thank you in advance for all your help.

Hello Akama1,
Yes, all you will have to do is to restore the iPod to erase all the content from it and set it back to it's default settings.
If you guys are using the same iTunes library, then you will have to set your daughter's ipod up to only sync music and such from her account. however, it would be possible to sync content from both of your accounts to one iPod.
One work around this is to set up different iTunes libraries for each iPod or have your iPod set up on an entirely separate user account on your computer. Here is more help again on managing multiple iPods with one computer (the one you mentioned running into).

You can give the person a copy of the song files, which they can then add to their iTunes library.

  • How to transfer ownership of ipad 2 on verizon

I am trying to transfer teh ownership of ipad2 on verizon network. I have never registered my ipad onto the verizon network. The new owner is trying to register the ipad and it keeps telling him that it is registered to me. According to verizon they have no information about it connected to my account. I purchased it through Bestbuy and they told me to call apple. I called apple and the customer service agent told me it was a verizon problem. I tried to explain to her that verizon told me to call apple. I also informed her of the multiple messages on this site regarding the same issue. She told me to go to an apple store. I told her the closest store is over 2 1/2 hours away. She screamed back, "Go to and apple store" and then hung up on me. I am calling back but have been on hold now for 10 minutes. Anyone ever figure out how to transfer ownership of their ipad2 on the verizon network? I have already reset the pad entirely - twice. Verizon has no record of me ever registering the device to use on their network. apple in fact has no record of me registering my device with them. i never registered it with anyone yet it is registered and cannot be transferred.

I never registered it on the Verizon network, which is why they have no record of me in their system. It wax APPLE customer service that told me to go to an apple store, and then hung up on me!  Apple is the one that needs to erase the registration somehow as Verizon has no record of me to even erase.
I have found several other similar issues of this on here and none have been resolved. Anyone with an answer?

  • Transfer Ownership of App from Old Account to New Company Account

    Hi,
I've been researching for a method to transfer ownership of an app that was published under an old company account. We've migrated to a new account and would like to transfer ownership to this newer account. The information I came across suggests that we
unpublished the app and republish it under the new account. This solution isn't desirable as it would wipe out all statistics - votes/downloads/etc.
I know that this is possible to transfer app ownership for Windows Phone Apps (by opening a ticket) - is there another solution for transferring app ownership for Windows
    Store Dev Center apps?
    Thanks,

    NO :(

  • Transfer ownership

How do you transfer ownership of an iTunes device and content? My daughter gave back my iPod Touch (older version) with some audio she had transferred from her CD's to it. I'm not interested in her purchased software from Apple but do not want to lose the audio.

Apart from purchases, iTunes will only transfer music in the one direction, computer to device. This is largely an obstacle designed to stop iTunes/iPod being used to illicitly share files. I believe sharing music within a household is generally acceptable. Either your daughter could share the files directly from her computer, or give them to you on a memory stick, or you could use a third party tool to extract them from the device such as one of those listed in Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

  • How can 2 people use itunes in the same household? we both have iphone 4 and separate id but the same itunes? pleasehelp

how can two people use itunes in the same household? i had a iphone before so alreday had an itunes account now me and my husband have upgraded and we now both have them. he has set up a username and i have mine yet when he logs in he seems to just get my account? please help

Decide which iPhone will be keeping the current iCloud account.  On the one that will be changing accounts, if you have any photos in photo stream that are not in your camera roll or backed up somewhere else save these to your camera roll by opening the photo stream album in the thumbnail view, tapping Edit, then tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share and tap Save to Camera Roll.  If you are syncing Notes with iCloud, you'll also have to email your notes to yourself so they can be recreated in the new account as they cannot be migrated.
Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud.  The phone that will be keeping the account will not be effected by this.)  When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On My iPhone.  Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom).  Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to the new account.
Finally, to un-merge the data you will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the data you don't want (such as deleting your wife's data from your account, and vice versa).

  • Can iTunes purchases be loaded to multiple iPods within the same household

Is it legal to download purchased music from iTunes Music Store to more than one iPod within the same household?
I understand the implications with teenagers sharing music in this manner; however, it seems crazy that I need purchase duplicate music to download to both mine and my wife's iPod.
I tested this with a few of the songs I purchased over the weekend and the iTunes software will allow the files to be imported into iTunes but not the iPod. It gives a message that states my wife's iPod is not autorized to download these files.
Please advise if it is legal to do this and if so how I can go about importing purchased files to my wife's iPod?

It says the files are not authorized for use on that her iPod. I made the purchases from my work laptop and updated my iPod from iTunes on my computer.
I added original CD tracts to the iTunes software on my work laptop and copied these and my purchased files to a second version of iTunes that is running on my home computer that my wife uses to manage her iPod.
I imported the folders to her computer by going to "File" and "Add Folder to Library". It brought the purchased files in to her library and auto-created a folder that it identified as imported Limeware files for the folders of the CD files.
When I updated her ipod it loaded all the files except for the 6 purchased files that I had brought in. That is when I got the message saying that her iPod was not authorized to receive the 6 purchased files.
In addition to not being able to load my purchased files to my wife's iPod, I am afraid that I will be charged for the imported CD files that iTunes automatically and erroneously identified as "Limeware" files.
Any advice? Thanks for the feedback and taking the time.

  • Can you set up apple tv using 2 different itunes accounts from 2 different macs in same household?

can you set up apple tv using 2 different itunes accounts from 2 different macs in same household?

No, you can only connect to one Home Sharing account at a time. If you want to see the content of the other Mac's library you will have to turn off Home Sharing on the Apple TV and log back in with the other iTunes account.

  • Delivery without reference for stock transfer within the same plant 311

    Dear all,
I need to create a delivery without reference for stock transfer within the same plant, movement 311,  i.e. just from 1 storage location to another storage location.
I tried to use VL01NO with delivery type UL.
Now my question is how can I assign a receiving plant for a customer?
I can't do the MIGO or MB1B document because I need the delivery document (packing list, forms, Texts,...).
    It's possible this option???
    Thank you very much.

    Hi,
What is the item category you are assigning while doing VL01NO?  Check the schedule line category for that item category assignment.  That Schedule line category has an option for one step GI.  There you can assign 311 or create a separate item category and schedule line category and in that SC assign 311.
    Thanks
    Krish.

  • What is necessary to transfer ownership of a CS4 product?

I have Web Premium CS4 for a Mac and don't use it any longer. What is necessary to transfer ownership?
Basically, I want to pass this on for sale. There was a transfer of ownership slip included with it when I purchased it in 2010, used.
I've seen these "used" Adobe products at Amazon sold as "open box" items. With Adobe, there is a registration involved in their products and also activation once installed on a computer. So I am presuming I need to de-activate it, and provide the transfer of ownership form to a prospective purchaser.
When I search on Adobe's website for customer service on these details, it turns out to become a very time consuming process, after better than a hour of going through the menu system I still have not been able to locate a phone #, or email option contacting them for information on this.
This is why I've come here - Adobe itself recommends the Community Board when the info on their tech support and customer service site has not answered the inquiry.

  • How do I transfer ownership on an iTouch?

I would like to give my iTouch to my sister-in-law. How do I transfer ownership? And how do I get it dedicated to her laptop, a MacBook Pro?
    Thanks in advance,
    John Kendrick

If you want to keep your present touch contents secret from your sister-in-law, do the following:
    Erase all content and settings:
Connect iPod touch to your computer or a power adapter. Choose General > Reset and tap “Erase All Content and Settings.” This feature resets all settings to their defaults and permanently removes all your information and media on your iPod touch by overwriting the data stored on iPod touch.
Important: You can’t use iPod touch while data is being overwritten. This can take one to four hours or more, depending on the storage capacity of your iPod touch.

  • Is there a way to transfer "ownership" of a shared review?

We use a shared network drive as a repository for shared PDF reviews. One of our department members will retire in the next few weeks. We would like to change the initiator of that person's shared reviews to another department member so deadlines can be extended, reviewers added, etc.
    Is this possible?

  • Transfer ownership of Magic Trackpad?

    Hi,
I purchased a Magic Trackpad used along with an iMac.  I was able to transfer ownership of the iMac, but the Magic Trackpad still shows the previous owner's name in the top right bluetooth menu.
Is there a way to register and/or transfer ownership of the Magic Trackpad using my account?  Or, at the least, is there a way to change the owner's name so it shows my name instead of the previous owner's name?
    Thanks

Apple does not maintain a database of peripheral devices, so it is not registered anywhere.
You should be able to change the name in the Bluetooth pane of system preferences (If you want to).
