Transfer photos from lg optimus to imac

Hello. How do I transfer pictures from an LG Optimus android phone to an i-mac?

Pretty much the same as with any camera or phone. http://osxdaily.com/2013/02/08/transfer-photos-from-android-to-mac-os-x/

How can I transfer my photos from iphoto on an imac to iphoto on a macbook, both have same operating software.

Depends on what exactly you want to do and on what version of iphoto you have on each
To move selected events from one to the other pruchase iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ -  and use it to move the photos or events
To move the entire iPhoto library
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive

Best way to transfer Photos from Mac notebook to my imac

    There are several different ways....
see > Mac Basics: File Sharing
or > How to use Migration Assistant to transfer files from another Mac
But to be honest, I prefer just copying the Photos onto a Flash Drive or Hard Drive and import them into iPhoto on the other Mac.

  • Can I transfer photos from old macbook to iMac and put all photos on a new external drive without losing any photos?

Had to purchase new Macbook so all devices could sync with Yosemite.   I use iMAC and Macbook with iPhone, etc.  I have many photos over years and do scrapbooking.  I want to preserve my pix on an external hard drive and organize them.  I am currently using external drive on iMAC and a separate one on Macbook that is outdated.  I use them with TM for backup.  Can I transfer pix data only to the iMAC via a transfer cable and then send all photos to new external drive for access and safe storage?  I am confused about backup not preserving my photos.  Help please me transfer and save my pix and properly set up my external for access.  Thanks a bunch!

    connie,
I assume you are storing your photos in an iPhoto library, since you are asking in the iPhoto forum?
if you want to store your iPhoto library on an external drive and keep them safe, you need two external drives.  One drive to store the working copy of the photo library, that you are using to work with your photos,  and one drive for time machine to make back copies of your iPhoto library.
Can I transfer pix data only to the iMAC via a transfer cable and then send all photos to new external drive for access and safe storage?
You could simply plug your new drive into the MacBook and copy the library from the old drive to the new. Then connect the new drive to your iMac and use the iPhoto library there.
Make sure, your new drive has the correct file system - MacOS Extended (Journaled) .  See this link:  iPhoto: Issues with FAT32-formatted drives

How to transfer just recent photos from iPhone 6 to my iMac?

Connect the iPhone to a USB port on your iMac and launch iPhoto. The Import panel will show you the photos grouped by "new photos" and "already imported".  Select the new photos you want to import in the panel and press "Import Selected".

  • Transfer photos from iphoto on my imac to my ipad air

I am trying to get my 1700 photos from my imac (yosemite 10.10.2) ot my ipad air. I am going through itunes, but am not seeing the items than a former thread suggested. I cannot get to iphoto on my mac from itumes. What am I doing wrong?

If you have iCloud Photo Library (beta) on, you use that, not iTunes, to transfer photos. See: iCloud Photo Library beta FAQ - Apple Support
iPhoto is not compatible with iCloud Photo Library (beta) and will soon be replaced by a new app "Photos" that is compatible. In the meantime if you want to continue to use iCloud Photo Library (beta) from your Mac there are instructions in  the above link.

  • HT1535 how do i transfer photos from iphoto on my imac to my new ipad

I have read and reread the ipad manual and under importing photos and videos -  this is all it says,
"To transfer the photos to your computer, connect iPad to your computer and import the images with a photo application such as iPhoto or Adobe Elements."
There are no explicite instructions on how to get the photos from iPhoto onto my iPad.  There is nothing in iPhoto either.

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • How to transfer photos from iphoto 09 on iMac to iphoto on Mac Book Pro

This is my first posting as I have tried unsuccessfully to find an answer to my query in the many answers to questions already posed.
I have an iMac and recently my girlfriend bought a Mac Book Pro. Whilst I have managed to transfer my music library to her Mac Book Pro using the new sharing facility in the latest version of iTunes, I have been unable to transfer the photos which I have on my Mac in iphoto 09.
Any help, advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in anticipation of your assistance.
    Best regards
EDIT: Just realised that I have posted this in iPhoto 08 instead of iPhoto 09 - I hope someone can still help!

Many thanks for your reply Terence
I understand what you mean, but would you be so kind as to explain how I should connect the machines. At first, I thought that some form of double ended USB may do it, but when I spoke to someone at work, they suggested a cross over ethernet cable.
    Your advice would be appreciated.
    Thank you once again

  • How can i transfer photos from my macbook to my imac without altering their quality

I am trying to transfer photos from my macbook to my imac, with the same version og iphoto, but it seems that the imac is having trouble to give me clean photos, as if it was putting 2 images, one on the other.... any suggestion for a clean and quick transfer ? and to what may cause that the photos seems blurry ?
    thanks
    Lau

Connect the two Macs together (network, firewire target mode, etc) and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity from the old Mac to the pictures folder of the new Mac - launch iPhoto on the new mac and it will open the library and convert it as needed and you will be ready move forward.

  • How do i transfer photos from a pc to an imac

how do i transfer photos from a pc to an imac please

    Hi Matty,
The easiest way is to transfer your photo library on your PC to a Flash Drive, then insert that drive into your Mac and import the photos to iPhoto. Once you insert the Flash Drive into your Mac, iPhoto shoud automatically launch, and should recognize that you have photos to be imported. You just click on the Import button, and away it goes.
    Hope this helps,
    Cheers,

  • How can I transfer photos from my  iMac to my iPad and not lose the ones already stored on the iPad.

How can I transfer photos from my  iMac to my iPad and not lose the ones already stored on the iPad?  When using iTunes to sync a folder from the iMac to the iPad it always removes anything previously synced.
    Help appreciated
    David

I've just found out the reason for this behaviour. I am syncing from a computer which is different to the one I first synced with. iTunes can't cope with this situation so deletes anything synced from another source.

  • How can I transfer photos from my Imac OS9 to a Macbook Pro OS 10 ? 10

How can I transfer photos from my Imac OS9 to a Macbook Pro OS 10 ?

The easiest way is probably to use a USB flash drive (you may have to test whether it is compatible with the Mac OS 9 iMac).
Somewhat more complicated would be to connect the two computers via Ethernet to (the built-in switch of) a broadband router, and then transfer files over the Internet (or a local network).
There are other methods as well (FireWire, CD-R, et cetera), depending upon the exact computer models involved.

  • How do I transfer photos from my MacBook Pro to my iMac?

How do I transfer photos from my MacBook Pro to my iMac?

You can go into your pictures folder in your user folder on your old computer and copy the iPhoto Library file (should be fairly large) either directly to the new computer or to an external drive.  Copy the old iPhoto Library over to the new pictures folder on your new computer.  The old iPhoto Library should overwrite the iPhoto Library on your new machine.  When you fire up iPhoto on your new machine, everything should be there in the same form as it was on your old machine.
