Transfer posting - Production to Warehouse (HUM)

Hi,
I would like to do a transfer posting from the Production storage location to the Warehouse what is a Handling Unit managed storage location.
I think the following steps should be done:
MB1B(creation of transfer posting from production storLoc to WH storLoc) with a 311 movement type
an inbound delivery should be created at the warehoude (configuration needed)
or with
VLMOVE (a HU should be created at the source Non HUM storage location first).
Could somebody help me with this question.

Auto print of Goods Issue/Transfer Posting Documents by Movement type

Hi,
We have created two different output types to print the layout's of Goods Issue/Transfer Posting Documents.
The requirement is to default the message in the document by movement type (key combination)
Meaning if it is 201 it should populate GI output type
If it is 313 it should populate TP output type.
we do not have any standard key combination (NACR) by movement type wise.
Any alternative way of meeting this requirement?

Hello Kevin,
I donu2019t think it is necessary to use a user exit to keep the Material B (that is transferred from Material A) in the same bin.
This can be controlled in the customizing: indicator Post to same bin, that can be set in the WM Movement type (V_T333-KZUAP) and in the Storage type (V_T3010-KZUAP).
Now I donu2019t know your business process but I am surprised that Material B requires more space than Material A since it is u2018bornu2019 by means of a transfer posting and not a production or packing step that makes it bigger in terms of capacity required.
A workaround for this could be to transfer (LT10) Material A first to a separate Storage type (with the Post to same bin-flag set) that has no Capacity check and after the 309 posting transfer it back into the warehouse with LT10.

Transfer posting options Need a printout prior to posting

Hello Gurus
Our company uses a 3rd party warehouse and carries serialized products. We often move items from
BLOCKED Storage location A to BLOCKED Storage location B (different physical address).
In transferring from SL A to SL B, we need a printout to give to warehouse A, so they know material/qty/which location.
The problem is the timing issue. At the time we want to execute the transfer posting, we dont know the serial numbers so we cannot execute in SAP. The warehouse makes the decision on which Seral numbers after receipt of printout.
What are my options?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
The only scenario I can think of is STO with Outbound Delivery.But In this case, is it possible to customize where it pulls from (Blocked stock) and transfers to Blocked or unrestricted stock?
Im not sure if something like this is possible.

You can try and make a Reservation using MB21 for the said storage locations.This reservation can be printed as well. Also while Issuing / Receiving Materiasl w.r.t Reservation via MIGO , you can select the desired stock type as "Blocked" under "Where" tab .

Missing part check at goods receipt or transfer posting

How Missing part check at goods receipt or transfer posting is different from availabilty check in production order.??
In which conditions we would use Missing part check at goods receipt or transfer posting ??
Is it possible for same component to behave differently in Missing part check at goods receipt or transfer posting or availabilty check in production order ?

missing parts check is possible at the time of a goods receipt, other receipt, or transfer posting.
if the missing parts check function is active in the plant, the system checks whether the material posted as a receipt is a missing part.
if it is a missing part, the system issues a warning message and sends an e-mail to the MRP controller responsible in the plant. assigning the missing part to a particular goods recipient takes place with the missing part processing in the application component Warehouse Management

Transfer Posting question.

Hi everybody, I have a doubt about the transfer posting. I don't know why, sometimes depending on the storage locations used, the transaction MB1B creates a material document, a inbound delivery or sometimes it shows an error saying "Material does not exist in warehouse 101". Could you explain me why does it happen?

Maybe this is because HUM is in use.
SPRO > Logistics - General > Handling Unit Management > Basics > MM > IM > HU Requierement for SLoc...
Here please check whether HUM requirement is set for the SLoc inconnection which you get the ID (inbound delivery) when you post goods movement by MB1B.

If you want to process hybrids (handling units and additional materials) or exclusively materials, please note that you cannot generate a material document directly. In these cases, you must create deliveries so that you can carry out all subsequent processes such as picking or posting goods movements.

Mb1b Transfer posting problem (urgent)

i m using movement type 309.
in the second screen they are entering batch..so based on that batch i m getting matnr and quantity in that batch.
In my ZBAPI ..

In the second line item..They are entering scrap material which the data has to get from MARD table. There is no batch exists for this second line item.
i m writing query to get the data from mard like this:-

Quality Module-Transfer posting

Hi,
Why it is not able to post the 321 mvmt in MB1B.
If we want to manualy post the stock to unrestricted through mb1b an error of change inspection of stock in QM only appears.
Please provide me a solution to manually post the 321 mvmt in MB1B.

Dear Vidhya,
As QM is active for the material,it does not allow to do the transfer posting
through MB1B T code & 321 movement.
In certain cases this is permitted.
For a material X QM is not active,but in Work scheduling view,you have included
the setting for Post to Inspection stock.This material after the production booking
goes to quality inspection stock,this can be cleared by MB1B T code using 321
movement.

Transfer posting to block stock through quality notification

Dear QM Experts,
I am trying to post the material from unrestricted use to block stock through quality notification type Q2. Following are the details.
1.     Material is batch managed
2.     Storage location is managed by warehouse management and has storage bin.
3.     Material has split valuation
When I click on link transfer post unrestrictedblock system asks to put storage type and storage bin. Here I enter the appropriate details. When I press enter system throws error message as Enter valuation type as the material has split valuation active. Surprisingly I do not find the option to put this valuation type in Q2 notification screen.
On the contrary when I try to do 344 movment manually through MB1B system gives pop up to select appropriate valuation type.
Requirement is movement 344 should happen through quality notification considering above constraints. How the valuation type to be entered in Q2 notification?
I would be grateful, if someone can throw some light on this.

Which valuation category do you use in material master accounting view?
In my experience..
Normally a company use the batch management for split valuation and a valuation type should be input automatically by transaction in batch master.
Therefore when you input a material, plant, batch in notification screen, a valuation type would be selected in background by system.
Anyway try below..
At transaction MSC2N you input a valuation type into batch master then try to transafer posting through notification.
I'm not sure why your batch master does not have a valuation type.

The stock transfer process begins with a requirement to transfer material from one plant to another within the same company code. This request, a stock transfer requisition, may be created automatically by MRP in the procuring plant, or manually by a buyer.
The process also works without MRP. Here, the buyer creates the stock transport order directly. The only master data requirement is the material master to support the stock transfer process. The material master must exist in both the procuring (receiving) plant and the providing (issuing) plant. Unlike other purchase orders, stock transfer purchase orders are not subject to approval. A buyer validates the accuracy of the stock transfer purchase requisition and converts it into a stock transfer purchase order. Without MRP, the buyer creates the stock transfer purchase order directly. A warehouse clerk at the issuing plant monitors the materials to be shipped, and creates necessary deliveries. Once a delivery is created, a pick list is generated for the materials. A warehouse clerk gathers the materials and confirms the picked quantities. Once the delivery is complete, the delivery quantities are issued, appropriate documentation is generated, and the shipment is sent, ending the process for the issuing plant. Goods are received at the receiving plant referencing the delivery number on the shipping documents. Inventory is received into a location based on fixed parameters proposed from the material master which can be changed at time of purchase order creation or goods receipt (transactional data capture).

Subcontracting for Sales Order Stock and collective Transfer Posting

Dear Expert,
We have a scenario in subcontracting wherein the sales order the customer also wants to see the components and as such along with the Header item of subcontracting ,we also mention the components as another line item in the sane Sales Order.
Now from the sale sorder two Po's are created onr for the subcontractor and one for the compnens to be procured.
Since the components are procured on sales order stock there is noway we can issue it to the Vendor stock through Movt .Type 541.
As per SAP AG WE CAN:
"ubcontracting is also possible in conjunction with sales order stocks and project stocks. The subcontracting orders are account-assigned to a sales order or a WBS element. Thus, the components are not transferred (using a transfer posting) to the u201Cstock of material provided to vendoru201D but are directly withdrawn from the sales order stock or the project stock at the time of the goods receipt. The material manufactured is also posted to the sales order stock or to the project stock. The cost of subcontracting is then debited to the sales order or WBS element.Since the components are not transferred to the u201Cstock of material provided to vendoru201D, we recommend that you use a transfer posting to transfer the provided components to a new storage location (for example, 9999). This enables you to obtain an overview of those stocks that are physically located at the subcontractor.This information is particularly important when you carry out a physical inventory of the sales order stocks and project stocks."
But my query is that how many such storage locations will be created for the subcontracting vendors.
Secondly for the stock transfer from sales to storage location , we have lots of sales order, is dera way through which we can do bulk transfer rathar than clicking at new item everytime and then doing the transfer posting.

This is a known issue, the system doesnt allow stock to have two special stock statuses at the same time.
Your concern of having to make multiple storage locations is valid (since this is a configuration).
I suggest you do the following
- Configure a warehouse and a single storage type (say 001). Allow mixing of materials in a single bin
- Assign this warehouse to a new storage location.
- Create a bin for every sales order number in the warehouse.
- When goods are moved to subcontractor, perform a transfer posting to the storage location, and perform a putaway to the respective bin. The putaway strategy can be tweaked using a user exit to go to the relevant bin. This way you do not have to enter the WM transaction for putaway.
- To consume the stocks, you can use 231E movement (MB1A). On the WM side, the picking strategy can be enhanced so that the picking TO is generated with the correct source bin. Make sure the GL account and CO objects are as per FICO requirements.
This way you can track the stocks binwise (bin level reports are available in WM), perform physical inventory and also consume the stocks from the relevant bin automatically.
We had faced the same situation, and we ended up not having sales order stock at all.

I want to post sales order stock from Sales oder XXXX line XX to Sales Order XXXX Line YY. both the line items of the material are of same materil number. my stock is warehouse managed stock.
when i use MB11 movemnet 413E error message Manual posting into/from WM controlled storage not allowed.
can any one guide me how to proceed. I am trying this transfer posting for the first time. when I use LU01 with 309 movement error message is Plt YY/ S.Loc XX is HU-managed. Posting change notice not provided for HUs

Need information on the transfer posting from WM To IM

Hello All,
Is there any scenario in WM and IM, where you are doing the transfer posting in MIGO_TR and creating the material doc for it. Now the stock moves in IM but when u create TO for the material doc and confirm the TO. That's where the stock moves in WM.
1) MB1B-311 Movt type---create TO for the mat Doc---i am moving the stock from one storage location to another location...then it moves the stock in IM, but i create TO and confirm in LT06...that's where, the stock moves in WM.
2) MB1B---321 MOVT TYPE...LT06...the stock category changes in IM and WM respectively...
I know the above scenarios work fine but there is any scenarios in SAP, where the posting happens first in WM and then in IM.
i need the clarity on the below scenarios, which is similar in case.

As Manish mentions above, when you are performing a posting change in a WM-managed SLOC, the preferable method is to use LQ02. This is because you already know the exact quant involved in the posting change and if your configuration is set properly, it is a single transaction for the end user.
If you start with MIGO, you must then follow on with LU04 as a second step to convert the Posting Change Notification in the foreground - otherwise you risk carrying out a posting change on the wrong quant!
You will first need to create custom WM movement types for the constellation of movements you want to perform these posting changes with (e.g., U > S, S > U, etc.). For the examples I just named you can copy the appropriate 3xx WM movement as a template. I would recommend that you set these movement types for automatic creation, automatic confirmation and post to the same bin.
In the IMG you can go to WM > Interfaces > IM > Define Posting Changes and link the IM and WM movements and also the source/destination stock categories (or special stock). Then in LQ02 you can simply enter the warehouse, storage type, bin and WM movement involved and you should be able to tick the quant(s) to change and post.
One limitation of using LQ02 for initiating the posting change in WM is that you must transform the entire quant. If, for example, you have a quant with 100 EA and only 41 EA are to be blocked, you should first quickly perform a bin-to-bin movement of the stock to be blocked to some other bin, perform the posting change, and then move it back. This has been my experience. If someone knows a way to do a partial posting change using LQ02 I'd love to know how to do it.

instead of doing that why dont u try the following
while creating production order give store loc which u want then while confirming the production order u will recieve material in required storage locn no need of 311
