Transfer Profile

Hi Everyone,
While I was creating activity for transfer profile it gives error saying 'Transfer to R/3 using mixed periodicities is not allowed'. And I am using 9ADP as periodicity. Now I changed the time bucket profile to accomodate days in it.
After doing that interactive planning gives error " read and write profile not match ".
My intention is to transfer data from APO to R/3.
Can anybody help me with that.

Hi John,
I guess I am giving you the answer very late and the problem might have already been solved. However try the following if the problem is not yet resolved.
The time bucket profile should have only one periodicity. Select Months in the Time bucket profile and schedule the transfer job again.
and it is always better to have only one keyfigure in the data view whose values you want to transfer, mostly Final Forecast. (Best Practise).

I have gone through the procedure on your support page for creating a new profile and saving it to a memory stick. The file saved was "times.json". Why don't you use the Sync option ? Instead of doing this manually.

New notebook - how to transfer profile or settings for iTunes

I will be changing to a new notebook in 2 weeks time.
I know if i were to install iTunes in the new notebook and sync with my iPhone, all the data will be wiped clean.
Can anyone help and advise if there are any profile files or settings file which i should back up and copy to my new notebook so that i do not need to reset up all over again?

You need to transfer your iTunes folder and library from your existing PC to your new PC.
With Windows, your iTunes folder is in the “My Music” folder. On a Mac, its just called “Music.”
With iTunes quit on your new PC, transfer your iTunes named folder from within your My Music folder to the same location on your new PC. This will include your iTunes music, video, podcasts, and iPhone applications.
You will also need to authorize your new PC with iTunes with your existing iTunes account. At the iTunes menu bar, go to Store and select Authorize Computer.
You can authorize up to 5 computers with the same iTunes account. If you don't plan on using your existing PC with your iTunes account, you should de-authorize the computer with iTunes.

It is not possible. Settings to be saved do only work with the same bios version. When updating you need to set everything again.

How to transfer profile information to one domain to other domain

Now now i am having one domain(ABC.com) with 700 computer and now my organisation is plan to change our domain name due to some reason.
They have some requirement in this migration . They want same profile and files in user desktop when they logged in to new domain.
Same files and profile configuration has to be loaded when they logged into new domain .
how to do that any idea please help.

Can i transfer profile folder created in win xp to linux

i want to create a back up of my firefox profile folder which
is win xp and install it in linux on another computer

It is better not to copy a full profile folder with all files, but only copy the files that you really need to avoid problems.

Transfer profile from Q5 to Q10

hi there,
i have problems transferring my profile from my current profile from a Q5 to a new Q10. Both devices have the latest software but it says that it is incompatible device software annd thus not possible because software in teh Q5 seems newer than on the Q10..
any ideas?

So, the OS versions are not the same and the message you received was, indeed, correct.
You will need to update the Q10 to the same version that is on the Q5. Here is a link with instructions on how to do that. It is very easy.

Once you update the Q10 to match the Q5 you will be able to interchange backups.

Transfer of profiles to Roles in PFCG

Hello,
yes i know that it is possible to transfer profiles to roles in pfcg.
This is possible over
EDIT>Insert Authorization->from Profile
But we need to transfer over 500 Profiles to new roles. Do we have a change to automating this process? Or do we need to do this manuell for any profile?

This will perhaps an option to import all our mauell profiles to roles.
After this, i think we can use ECATT to rename the new roles to the naming conventions.

Tom,
You can copy data from COPA using Tcode : MC7P. But you still have to move it to SOP ( info structure S076 ).
Next from SOP you can move plan to inactive demand (inactive version 002 ) ( using tcode MC8S) by creating suitable transfer profile.
That demand can then be refrenced back to your LTP planning scenario ( using Tcode MS31 -create planing scenario or MS32- change planning scenario)

Transfer of forecast from SNP to ECC

We are using transfer profile to transfer forecast (9ADFCST) from SNP to ECC.
We find that the original forecast is not transferred, but only the unconsumed (Original fcst - sales) forecast is transferred.
Is there a way to transfer the original forecast from SNP to ECC?

Thanks for your response.
Yes, we had thought of doing that, but we are transferring the forecast based on requirement strategy for each product in product master data in SNP.
Though DP has all the original forecst, it does not have req. strat. as a selection criterion for SKU.
For example-- if the req. strat. is 20 then create VSF orders in ECC, if it is 30 then create VSE orders in ECC and if it is 32 do not transfer to ECC.
So we have to fall back on SNP to transfer the forecast using that product selection criterion.
But in SNP the forecast is consumed by sales order/deliveries and only the "remaining" forecast (after all the consumption have taken place) is transferred.
We had tried /sapapo/dmp2 to transfer original forecast, but it does not work if the "Planning Assembly" field is not checked in the product master. And we do not use that field in our product master data.

Two different operating systems.
It has nothing to do with the phones running different operating systems. Bluetooth is a platform independent standard. It's all due to the different Bluetooth profiles each device incorporates. iPhones do not have the file transfer profile.

We are in the process of implementing DP for one of our clients,
We are facing the following problem, while releasing the Demand ( as PIR) to SAP R/3.
Transfer to R/3 using mixed periodicities is not allowed
We have maintained below mentioned steps;
1.Periodicities of Planning area maintained only weekly buckets.
2. Maintain Transfer Profile (SAPAP/MC8U)
3. Define activities for Mass Processing (SAPAPO/MC8T)
4. Create Demand Planning for Background job
(SAPAPO/MC8D)
5. Schedule demand planning in Background (SAPAPO/MC8G)
6. Through SM37 I checked the Spool List.*Error: Transfer to
R/3 using mixed periodicities is not allowed*
Kindly request if anyone knows provide solution.

I think you can have only month, quarter and year in your storage bucket profile when you release forecast to ECC.
Anything lesser than that will give you an error when you release forecast to ECC.
If you want to send forecasts in weekly buckets, then you need to maintain the period split profile (Transaction /SAPAPO/SDP_SPLIT - Maintain Period Split Profile ) and assign this profile to the transfer profile.

Transfer Demand Plan to R/3

Hi All,
I need to transfer the Demand Plan to R/3.
Please let me know the importance of Period Split profile in the transfer profile screen.
we are using the posting periodicity in the planning book.
What is the use of Distribution Function?
Is it possible to transfer the demand in days for first 3/4 weeks and then in weeks for rest of the period.
Your input/suggestions are highly appreciated.

Period split profile is used when your demand plan is calculated in a particular periodicity (say month) and you want to see the result in ERP with a more detailed periodicity(say weeks or days). In case your demand plan periodicity is the same as the periodicity in which you want to see the results in R/3 then there is no need for a period split profile. As the name implies period split , splits the value to a finer level.
Distribution function is used to assign weightage to the different periods. We divide the value of a period equally so iam not very sure about the distribution function concept. But i think , if you have demand plan of 100 CS for a month and you are splitting it into weeks (defined in period split profile) , and decide to give more weightage to weeks 1 and 2 compared to 3 and 4 then the distribution function comes into play . Not sure about it though.
Also refer to consulting note 403050 . It talks about releasing forecast to sNP, but then the concept of period split profile / distribution function is the same irrespective of the target to which the demand plan is released.

Forecast Transfer to R/3 in Daily/Weekly buckets

Hi,
We have 2 planning areas in DP - Weekly and daily planning area. For the first 3 weeks, the forecast will be transferred to R/3 in daily buckets and for the remaining 2 weeks, the forecast will be transferred in weekly buckets. I have created 2 separate transfer profiles - one for daily transfer from the daily planning book and another one for weekly transfer from weekly planning book. When I run the forecast transfer from the daily planning book for the first 3 weeks, the forecast gets successfully transferred to R/3 Demand management. But, when I run the forecast transfer from the weekly planning book for Weeks 4 & 5, the forecast gets released successfully although it overwrites the previous forecast in daily buckets. Please bear in mind that the time periods for daily and weekly transfer are different. The same thing happens if I run the weekly transfer first and then do the daily transfer. For another location, we release the forecast to SNP in the same way and it works fine. Does anyone has any clues about this situation? Thanks.

Time bucket profile: 21 days
Transfer profile: Daily Transfer profile (Released to active version A)
Activity: Daily Transfer Activity
Job: Daily Transfer Job (based on planing book2 and data view2)
Planning book1: Background Weekly Planning book
Dataview1: Weekly Forecast Transfer View (Offset field is set to 3 so that forecast could be transferred to weeks 4 & 5.
Time bucket profile: 2Weeks
Transfer profile: Weekly Transfer profile (Released to active version A)
Activity: Weekly Transfer Activity
Job:Weekly Transfer Job ( based on planing book1 and data view1)
Yes, I am transferring both the daily and weekly forecast to the same active version, but different time horizons. So, in order to do this, do I need to transfer to 2 different active versions. If this is the case, can DRP be able to use forecast from 2 active versions?

Transfer Forecast to R/3

When trying to transfer forecast to R/3 from Demand Planning, I am getting a successful transfer message.
but Independent requirements are not showing up in R/3.
I have created a activity and schedules a background job for the transfer.
Are there any settings to be done...
The material is already marked for External Planning.

Hi Kishore,
Have you created the transfer profile? If so, have you included that transfer profile in that planning activity?
Also make sure that you have included the correct selection id in your planning job.
I just gave you few check points to look into. Please let me know what happens.
