Transfer Project vs Transfer Projects

Hi All - Here is the situation..when I enter one of my libraries and decide to transfer a project from that library to another or perhaps a new library, then that works as advertised. Workflow is = Masters and referenced are in the same library, and using export and choosing "Items as new Library". When I select more than one project - that is PROJECTS in plural, then Aperture will not recognize Masters, thus I am really hesitant to undertake that export unless everything goes with it....any ideas on what to do, or what I am doing wrong would be helpful.
btw - I have thought about doing in reverse with creation of new library and then import, but that seems not to Aperture's liking.

Not sure what you are trying to say if I select multiple projects and export items as library the newly created library is fine, the masters are included.
You might what to rephrase your question to be more clear as to what is not working for you.

OK it depends.
If you have a finished movie, you can SHARE/EXPORT MOVIE and create your final movie. Then, depending on the size of the finished movie, you can transfer via dropbox or similar service. Ninety minutes is a very long movie for iMovie, but it may work for you. I would suggest 720P to keep the size down.
If you need to transfer the entire iMovie Project so it can be edited in iMovie at the other end, then you need to transfer the project and event assets to an external hard drive and get the hard drive to the other location.

Transfer material from Valuated project non valuated project

Hi Experts,
While i am trying to transfer material from Valuated project stock to Non valuated project with T.Code MB1B movement type 415 'Q', I am getting following error.
WBS element has different inventory valuation
Message no. CN769
Diagnosis
The project definition for WBS element only allows the following stock control:
No project stock
No project stock with defined valuation M
' ' = non-valuated project stock
'M' = valuated project stock
System Response
Account assignment not possible.
Procedure
Change the settings for the project stock in the project definition (Control tab) or use a suitable WBS element.
Kindly suggest me how to trafer material from Non valued project stock to valuated project stock.

Actually, you sohuld not be transferring stock to non-vlauated proejct directly. In case of non-valuated project, stock is never valuated while in case of valuated project it is valuated. So there is basic difference in valuation method. This will create inconistency if you attempt ot transfer it directly.
You should rather transfer this stock to general stock and then transfer to non-valuated project stock.

We are dealing with project specific stocks & customer project scenario.
My requirement is that we having 2 plants. Projects are created in 1001 plant, same plant does the mfg. of FG items required for projects & 1002 plant manufactures MTS items which are required to mfg. project FG items as well as same items will bring into 1001 plant and then delivered to customer.
Here my clients want to create stock transfer pr through project builder to bring MTS items from 1002 plant to 1001 plant & then delivered to customer.
I think as you said this is not possible in std. sap to create stock transfer pr through project builder.

Transfered DVD ( via Handbrake ) to Aperture folder. Was able to transfer still photos to iMovie project but DVD project ( in same folder would not transfer. What is correct procedure?

Hi
The inventory expenditures in Oracle Projects cannot be adjusted. Therefore you may either do the change in original module or use a workaround.
Assuming you are working with Project Manufacturing , you could transfer the items from the original project locator to the new project. Use Project-Transfer transaction type.
Alternatively enter a preapproved Miscellaneous expenditure item to debit the new project and a negative one to credit the original project. This method you can easily move the summarized amount of all cost between projects, however, there is no link to the original expenditures.

How to Transfer PPV to anthor project

We are using standard cost method and PJM
Item is received in Project locator for Project A. Cost collection program transfer the cost based on Std cost and PPV to Project A.
Now the Item is transferted from Project A to Project B locator in inventory . Only the Std cost get transfered to Project B. The PPV is still remain in Project A.
How to Transfer the PPV from Project A to Project B. (Project Transfer option in Exp inquiry is not allowed since the Source is Inventory).

I understand you want to allocate all cost incurred on project A to project B. If you setup the allocation rule to do that, each run of the allocation process will generate one expenditure item on the target project.
Therefore, you can have only one expenditure type for such expenditure item.
If you want to keep the list of expenditure types of project A so cost will be transfered to identical expenditure types in project B, you might consider setting up multiple allocation rules.
You need to setup allocations source by resource list, where the resource list is defined by expenditure types. The summarization process will summarize the total amount of each expenditure type on project A. You will need to setup each allocation rule for an individual expenditure type (resource) in project A. Foe each such allocation rule you set the target expenditure type to equal the source expenditure type. Be sure to have all you expenditure types with an additional expenditure type class of miscellaneous.

Problem in tranfering simulation project to operative project-CJV4

hi all,
I am able to transfer operative project to simulation project but after making changes in the simulation project, I am not able to transfer the simulation project back to the operative project.
on clicking the transfer icon ,it gives a message:the project is being updated
but later an error is generated in the sap mail box :
Transaction..   CJV4

   Error Info...   00 671: ABAP/4 processor: SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC
and the operative project is not affected.

no, i m not getting any dump.
when i transfer the project,it successfully goes into the log tranfer screen while the status msg is the project is being updated...when i press back button....the previously mentioned error occur.

Import Files as Projects makes other projects disappear

Hi,
I'm new to these forums and new to Aperture. I would really like some help with this issue. I have searched the forums and while I've found one other post with the exact problem no one has posted an answer...I hope for better results.
I work in IT so I am pretty savvy, as such I will try to explain the issue as thoroughly as possible.
ISSUE: I have created Folders at the root level of my Aperture Library. Inside those Folders I have imported pictures with the standard import method, and as expected it has created projects for each import. After realizing that I could import "Files as projects" I tried that option. I had about 9 projects in the folder and after importing "Files as projects" for several new folders I was left with only a few new projects and several of my existing projects were gone. If I click on the folder that contains the projects all the pictures are still there, but the organization of having them in their individual projects was lost.
At this point I started over. Rather than taking the time to import one folder at a time, I decided to try the "Import Folders as Projects" option from the start. I had about 17 folders I was importing and after getting the successful import message I was left with only 8 projects, rather than 17 as expected for each of the folders imported. However, once again, ALL the pictures where there in the root folder.
I tried a third time. I wiped the library clean and started over and I got the same results.
Once again, I'm a new aperture user and I would like to transfer my MANY pictures into Aperture but If I have to import 1 folder at a time then it will take me months. Also I'm not too confident with the Library structure as I don't know if this is a corruption in the Library or another issue. It makes me worried that months down the line when I have all my pictures in aperture I will have to start all over.
Visual of the way I'm trying to organize (Of course there are MANY more projects in each folder):

Hi rwboyer - I just realized that I have read many of your posts on your website regarding organizing your pictures on Aperture, very nice. I have fixed/figured out what was going on....and to tell you the truth I feel kind of stupid I hadn't checked.
ANSWER: In the Projects tab the setting was set to "Recent Projects" as opposed to "All Projects". As soon as I flipped this setting they all magically appeared.
I don't know how Aperture defines "recent" but considering that I imported all at the same time I was not thinking any one project was more recent than another. Oh well it's fixed, I'm happy and very excited to start using Aperture. Thanks again for the response.

Any expenditure item charged to any project could be transfered to another project, assuming the Transaction Source does not restrict the adjustment in PJC.
When you select the expenditure item to transfer, the system creates a negative EI in the original project and another related EI in the target project.
Distributing those transactions will credit the CIP account on the capital project and debit the expense account on the indirect project.

I have already finished with the project,but then as something happened I need to make it as a new project.So how can I used all the information I have on the old project to be transfer to the new one?

hello.
there are other more elaborate (and depending on size and scope of modifications, possibly useful) options including Methodology Management, but to keep it simple, try the following:
if you have an initial baseline of the existing project, restore it and go from there. let me know if you need help on that.
if not, copy-paste the existing project and manually adjust the newly created one. you can use "global changes" and/or "fill down" (see help and/or available related posts for this) to clear progress data such as actual resource/ expense units and costs, then activity start dates (in this order).
make sure you baseline your projects before you start imputting actual data.

Sales Company - > Attaching their Project/Task to Sales Order.(Different OU,LE,Set of Books).
Manufacturing Plant - > Imports the Sales-Order of Sales Company(Different OU,LE,Set of Books).
Current Flow - > Sales Company Project/Task -> Planning -> Work Orders ->Transfer Cost to Projects.
And Manufacturing Unit will create their Internal Project.
Questions :-
Now Manufacturing Unit wants to know their Manufacturing Cost(Material Cost,Resource Cost and Overhead Cost) ?How to track cost for Manufacturing Plant ?
How we can transfer the cost from Sales Company Project to Manufacturing Project ?
Do we need to Transfer from Cost from Sales Company OU to Manufacturing Internal Project OU ?
Is their any other way to do the setups ?
Iam only concened about How to use Sales Company Project and Manufacturing Internal Project ?

We are in a process to implement flow of information between Sales Order from two different LEs.
Our Order originates from Sales Service Org(Project Owning Org) ----> Trading Hub------- > MFG Plant. The equipment is shipped directly to customer.
We would like to know more on the solution which you have explained : -
"Manufacturing plant may use the same project as setup by the sales company. They could setup the transfer price rules for cross charge. Then run the Inter-company billing process which generates a sales invoice in the manufacturing OU AR, and interface that as internal supplier invoice to the AP of the Sales OU. To implement the Inter-company billing you need to follow the required setups in both OUs."
We have been following steps and found not working
(1) Created Project under Sales & Service Operating Unit (OU)
(2) Created Sales Order against this Project in Sales & Service OU, the shipping org on this sales order is MFG which belongs to different entity & OU.
(3) Pick and Ship from shipping org MFG OU
(4) Run Cost Collection Manager for Inventory Cost Transfer for the Shipping Org MFG
(5) There is no transaction pending for this cost under Sales & Service OU, however this is pending under MFG OU (shipping Org)
(6) Ran the "Transaction Import" program from MFG OU and the transaction got rejected as the Project belongs to Sales & Service OU.

Unable open Project details or a project from PWA Project server 2010 with Alias name

Hi,
I am unable to open the Projects from Project center with the Alias name with the server name i am able to open the projects, version is project server 2010,
My system is ABC.DC.IN alias name i have given is DEF.AD.COM
With the system name i can able access PWA and all are working fine.
As i have observed with alias name i can able to login to pwa and all the server setting approval center all are working fine but only in the project center i am not able to open the projects (http://DEF.AD.COM/pwa/ProjectDrillDown.aspx .xxxx)
its is coming in the below of the ie.
But with Alias name these are the issues i am facing,
1.when longing with alias name its asking two times for user name and password
2.when i click on a project from project center its taking some time and asking for user name and password after i enter user name and password "PAGE cannot displayed" error i am getting.
can any one Help me.

name password again if click on any project in project center and and showing page cannot be displayed error.
