Transfer Purchases between iTunes accounts

On my iPhone, I have several a mixture of applications bought from 2 different iTunes accounts (2 separate email addresses)
Is there any way I can transfer all the applications that were purchased using email account 1 to email account 2?
I no longer use the first iTunes account created and would like to bring all my applications and songs into the one iTunes account?
Cheers
Duncs

I had this same issue.
Simple answer: I couldn't transfer the apps downloaded from the original account. They are associated and linked with that account.
The only thing I could do was to re-download everything with the new, current account. Even paid applications.
If you have a lot of paid applications (or music) associated with the original account, you might be able to get someone from Apple to help you. I didn't own that much that I paid for, so it wasn't a big deal for me.
sorry and good luck.

  • Transferring Purchases Between Itunes Accounts

For about 8 years now I have been using my dad's Itunes account to purchase music, so there is about 1000 songs of mine on his account. However, I am about to buy a mac for myself and I am going to be setting up my own Itunes account. Is there any way I can transfer all of my purchases across computers from my dad's account to my new one?

An additional note is that if the tunes a .m4a then there is no DRM asscociated and you can add those tunes to your Library. The tunes just will not be asscociated with your account but you can still play them. If the tunes are DRM pproteded .m4p then you would have to authorize your computer to his account to play those files. TV Shows and Movies are DRM protected.
So if there is no DRM there is no real reason to repuchase the tunes. Just be sure to keep a b/u on your iTunes Library.

  • Can I transfer purchases between accounts?

I want my sister to get a new iTunes account, can I transfer purchases between accounts so that she can keep her stuff?

You can't currently transfer purchases between accounts as Apple haven't added that ability.  As long as the old account remains authorised on the computer that they sync to then they should be able to continue using that music, and it will remain on their phones.
If they do create their own accounts then if they turn on automatic downloads or re-download past purchases for an account then they risk tying the phone (or computer if that is where they do it) to that account for 90 days : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627

This really isnt good. there isnt even a .tmp file on my pc.
Did you enable the display of system files and hidden files and folders?
by the way, how can i stop this from happening another time.
    Make a backup!
i had music there for over 6 years.
Well you must have updated iTunes once or twice in that time. Do you have some sort of "tidying" app that is supposed to clean "unnecessary" files. If so perhaps it is too aggressive.

  • HT1539 Transferring digital copies between iTunes accounts

    Hi
I have recently set up my own iTunes account, but digital copies of films I have got in the past are on my old account & the redeeming codes won't let me download them again. Does anyone know if its possible to transfer digital copies between iTunes accounts?
If not, is there any way I can get these films on my iPad that's linked to my new account?
Any advice anyone can give me will be helpful. Cheers.

It's not possible to transfer 'normal' iTunes purchases between accounts, and I assume that the same thing applies to digital copies. You should be able to copy them onto the computer that you sync the iPad from, authorise that account on it (via the Store > Authorise This Computer menu option in iTunes), add them to its iTunes (File > Add To Library), and then sync them to your iPad

  • HT202157 switching between itunes accounts

i just upgraded my itunes account tonight.  i have a question: is the switching between itunes accounts legal?  How do they know you are not getting a friends account info and watching their movies?  Does anyone know the answer to how this works and if it is legal?
    Thanks,
    Dena

The potential to associate a computer to an account for 90 days has been possible for a number of years like it has been on iOS devices, and can happen if you use iTunes Match, automatic downloads or redownload past purchases (though, based on some posts I've seen, it doesn't always seem to happen) - I believe it's an attempt to try and stop people logging into their account on other people's computers or devices and redownloading/sharing their content, not to stop people having multiple accounts.
It shouldn't stop you buying new content on the account, just doing any of the above three things. If you want to do one of them on your other account then you can try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will remove the current association, but if you then do one of them on the other account then you are likely to start a 90 association to that account instead : Manage your associated devices in iTunes - Apple Support.

  • I want to transfer my remaining ITunes account balance to my husband's account.  Different password/Apple ID for him.  How can I accomplish this?

I want to transfer my remaining ITunes account balance from my IMac to my husband's IPad.  He has a different Username and Password.  How do I make the transfer?

If any part of the balance from an iTunes gift card has been spent, the remainder of it can't be moved to another Apple ID through any means.

  • If I buy an in app purchase with iTunes account "B" on my ipad, while logged into a different gamecenter, will it show up on Apple ID "A" email?

If I buy an in app purchase with iTunes account "B" on my ipad, while logged into a different gamecenter, will it show up on Apple ID "A" email? I am trying to buy an in app purchase for Clash Of The Clans. My gamecenter is associated with Apple Account "A", but if I purchase the in app purchase under Apple Account "B", will it show up in Apple Account "A" email, due to it being associated via gamecenter? Please reply!

No. An in-app purchase can only be made through the same iTunes Store account that the game was originally purchased through and will be linked only to that account. Receipts will be mailed only to the email address associated with that Apple ID. What Game Center account the game is linked to will be, to the best of my knowledge, irrelevant.

  • I have mistakenly opened up a new iTunes account. Can I transfer purchases from one account to the other?

I have recently bought a new iPad mini and tried to set it up and share with my old iTunes account.
I thought I was changing email addresses for contact info, but was actually setting up a new iTunes account and paid for the £21 a year sharing service.
I have a few (not many) tunes purchased on my old iTunes account.
Is there a way of merging/closing my old account and transferring purchases across to the new iTunes account?
I could swap between the two, but doing that on the phone/ipad will mean I cannot swap back for 90 days!!!!!
    Thanks

Did you ever get around to transfer purchases from your old iPhone to iTunes in your computer.  If you did, your ringtone will be there and all you need to do is sync it back to your new iPhone.
Ringtones can only be downloaded once from the iTunes Store that is why the user guides recommend that you transfer purchases from the iPhone to the computer.
If you never synced your old iPhone to iTunes, then you need to do that now so that you can get your ringtone on your new iPhone.

  • Transfer between iTunes accounts?

I would like to transfer purchases from my Australian iTunes account to my English iTunes account. Does anyone know if I can do this? Thanks

    You cannot do this.
Just keep everything stored on your computer and backed up.  You will be abel to use your apps and music, you simply will not be able to update or redownload.

  • Can you transfer between itunes accounts using home sharing

I am wanting buy an Ipad 2 as a present and pre load some apps for them on it. Ill have to sync it to my itunes account to do this. so how do i go about ensuring what i have downlaoded doesnt get lose when they then use their itunes account? Would having to 2 accounts on one computer help?

Apps are locked to the iTunes Store account under which they were purchased and cannot be transferred to another account. Unless the recipient of this gift will be living with you or is someone who you would trust with your iTunes Store account ID and password, preloading the iPad won't be practical since, without your iTunes Store account information, anything you load on the iPad will be erased when the recipient syncs it to their computer. You can gift the apps, if you wish, which would allow the recipient to download the apps through his or her own iTunes Store account. Or you can give an iTunes card along with the iPad and let the person choose their own apps.
    Regards.

  • Can you transfer purchases from one account to another?

My parents created an Apple ID using our HOME E-MAIL and I've been using that one since I first used iTunes. Now, I have MY OWN e-mail address and I want to use that one now. I want to know if there's a way to TRANSFER ALL the purchases I've made with that account to my new one. I really DON'T wanna have to buy them again...and I have ALOT of stuff I bought.

Stuff that was bought recently is DRM-free, and should work under any account.
Stuff that was bought when all files were DRM-protected are non-transferrable between accounts.
If you subscribe to iTunes Match, you should (not 100% positive) be able to delete your DRM-protected files and redownload them from iTunes's matching service. (Ones that are matched, of course.. Uploaded ones will stay DRM'd.) It's only $25 for a year's subscription, and all their files are 256kbps, too. I'd recommend this solution.
If you bought video files, I'm afraid you're screwed, as there's no way (that I know of) to remove DRM from videos. Either re-download or keep authorizing your computer with both iTunes accounts (the old one and your current one).
I have a couple music vids and TV show episodes that a buddy of mine gave me about 9 years ago. Every time I get a new computer, I have to have him come over and authorize my account, or I can't play them.
    Hope this helped.
