Transfer Purchses in Itunes is not transfering applications

I recently bought a new computer. I managed to transfer everything in my itunes from the previous computer but I am having issues getting the applications that are exclusively on my iphone to transfer onto my computer. I've read all the info on how to do it but its not working. I've authorized my new computer, and I've done the "transfer purchases" and even though itunes seems to be going through the motions of transferring the applications, when the progress bar finishes there is no sign of the applications. So as of this moment my applications are the only thing not synced because when I click on the "sync applications" option, the pop up tells me that all the apps on my iphone will be cleared and replaced with the ones on my computer (which don't include the ones I've downloaded straight from the iphone).
I was so frustrated that I re synced my iphone with my old computer and tried to transfer the applications on that computer but it didn't work either!! So I am thinking this is something to do with the new itunes 9? Help!

Are you selecting the music to sync to the iPad? Try it this way.
Connect the iPad to the computer and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Music Tab on the right.
Click on all of the albums or playlists that you want to sync - or the entire library if you like.
Click on the Sync Music Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
Do you have your sync preferences set to Manually Manage Music And Videos in the Summary Tab of iTunes? If you do, deselect that and try again.

How can i transfer the entire itunes program (not the library,but the actual program itself) from one cpu to another? I have the older version that has the slide feature. I can't stand the new itunes.

Sounds like you've already installed iTunes 11 and are now trying to downgrade. To do so successfully you will also need access to a pre-upgrade copy of your library as set out below...
The main differences between iTunes 11 and earlier versions are the loss of coverflow and ability to have multiple windows open.
In Windows, you can restore much of the look & feel of iTunes 10.7 with these shortcuts:
ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
If you don't like having different coloured background & text in the Album (Grid) view use Edit > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
With iTunes 11.0.3 you can enable artwork in the Songs & List views from View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) making it more like the old Album List view.
If you still feel the need to roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the 32 bit installer or 64 bit installer as appropriate, uninstall iTunes and supporting software, i.e. Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.

Some of my playlists in itunes are not transferrring to my iPhone either by sincing and by icloud. I turned itunes match on and off several times and still doesn't put missing playlists on my phone. I didn't have this issue prior to saving to icloud and using itunes match. Anyone else having this issue?

That definitely sounds frustrating! Let's give this a go to see if we can isolate the issue futher:
First, connect your device and choose the "Music" tab. Next, uncheck the "Sync Music" checkbox, and apply the changes (so there is ultimately no music syncing to your iPhone).
Once you have done that, recheck the "Sync Music" checkbox, and apply the changes once more. This will instruct iTunes to completely remove all music from your iPhone, and then copy the files once more. If you have a large amount of music, this initial sync may take a while.

ITunes purchases not showing in iTunes and not transferring to iPod shuffle

I Have been using ipod shuffles for several years as they are small and convenient for running. I have purchased 175 songs on iTunes and been forced to purchase FIVE iPod shuffle devices because the battery life in all five devices degrades after approximately 40 re-charges to the point that I only get 15 minutes battery time after a full charge. This is occurring on every iPod shuffle I have bought inclusing the latest one which is only two months old. A couple of weeks ago, I purchased several applications for my iPad and several new songs. I receive emails after each purchase. However, when I looked at my iTunes account, it showed all the items as a single item purchase and the songs were not even showing up as purchased or in my play list. This tells me that someone at Apple accounting is manually adjusting purchases and not itemizing them and the songs were not even given to me. I had to reinstall my entire iTunes program and they had to reinsert the new songs into my purchased playlist. That is why I couldn't transfer my songs onto my iPod shuffle. Now, with the latest IOS 8.3 update, I am getting all sorts of service problems like it says each time I turn on my laptop that I have inserted a CD or DVD, select the times I want to burn. It was never doing that before. It is also giving me all these warnings too:

I purchased four new iTunes songs yesterday and only one of them transferred into my iPod shuffle. I am so tired and frustrated with the endless defects in Apple Products, that soon I am just going to say ENOUGH AND COMPLETELY STOP USING ALL APPLE PRODUCTS.

Problem with iTunes and not transferring media.

This is differnt since the media it won't transfer has already been on the iPod once before. My iTunes won't tranfer some of my songs (that it did before) and some of my TV shows (that it did before as well) for some reaon or another. I have them set for autosync, no manual transfer, they are the latest episodes of the show, they are checked, and I have tried syncing it about eight times using different methods to get it to sync up. The songs a like every other song and not a problem with them.
Any ideas?

ITunes 9 not updating applications

When I log into iTunes 9, I can usually update ONE application... and then the updates stop working. I can click on all I want, but the count of updated apps doesn't drop.
Ideas?

If you insert a CD, it gets the info, you import it, change the info and then reinsert the CD and reimport, it will not reuse the info you changed. It will use the info from the CD.
This is how it has always been.
If the CD info is not correct, you need to change it before you import/reimport it.
If you have already imported and changed the info, you can use this script -> Copy Track Info to CD Tracks v1.3 to copy the changed info in Tunes to the CD, then reimport it.

Purchased music plays in iTunes but not Apple applications

My issue is not as dire as most here but still....
Recently, my purchased music became unavailable to
all Apple applications (iPhoto, iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Quicktime, etc) except
iTunes. If I try to play one, "This computer is not authorized to play this
song" message appears. Never did before. After following the
"open iTunes to reauthorize this computer" instruction it reports
authorization was successful. However, the songs are still unavailable
to Apple apps. and the "not authorized" message keeps popping up.
And they all play fine in iTunes. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Usually unchecking the song(s) in iTUnes, updating the ipod, then checking the songs and updating the ipod again will fix the problem.
If not restoring it with the latest ipod updater (06-28-2006) should fix it. Restoring wipes the ipod clean and then you use iTUnes to load it back up with your music

ITunes are not transfering to my iPod

I have recently downloaded songs in itunes and have tried to transfer them to my iPod, but they are not registering. I have plenty of memory left, so I know that is not it. Is there another reason why these songs will not show up on my iPod, but are on my iTunes? I have given authority and there seems to be no other reason. Can you help? Sorry if this question has already been asked.

ITunes Purchase not transferring to iPod

Before the 3.0 update when I downloaded a song via iTunes on my iPhone it was placed in the file Downloaded From iPhone. After the update it no longer does that. Can this be fixed or not?

Well my first question is, can you even play it in iTunes?

ITunes artwork not transferring

I recently imported an album (the Smiths' Hatful of Hollow) from CD, and wanted to copy the artwork, too. Using Firefox 3.5.7 on my MacBook Pro with MacOS 10.6.2, I went to the Amazon page for that product, and clicked on the link for a larger image:

With iTunes 9.0.2, I opened an info window (command-I) and dragged the image into the Artwork window. The window highlighted but did not accept the artwork, even if I tried clicking on the checkbox to the left prior to dragging. I can drag the artwork into the "Now Playing" artwork box on the lower left. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, is there something I'm missing? I checked the instructions in iTunes Help, which seems to be the same as I recall previously.

HT1539 Just bought a Blu-Ray disc, entered the code to transfer movie to iTunes (online, not from the disc), but get an error that iTunes timed out? What is causing this?

Have you seen this thread about Disk Utility's space message and different Blu Ray media?
As to your other questions, I have very limited BluRay experience; the few times when I made a disk image it was for someone else's use or for testing workflows, but I know I didn't get into any weird encoding loops. As you know,the progress bar is pretty obscure by nature; alternatively, open up Batch Monitor and click on the info button do see what percentage has been complete.
Assuming by now that you've canceled the job, I would download Digital Rebellion's Compressor Repair tool (free) and run that – including the trash preferences option. Also, I've had occasions when job actions started to act up and were cured by running repair permissions in Dick Utility.
My impression is that the people who use disk images with Toast are happy with the results. So even if it's not something you get now, perhaps it's the long term solution.

1. iTunes won't offer cloud downloads for songs that it "thinks" are in your library, even if it "knows" the files are missing. If you've exhaustively searched for the missing files and there is no prospect of repair by restoring to them to their original locations, or connecting to new ones, then delete that tracks that display both the missing exclamation mark and are of media kind Purchased/Protected AAC audio file. Don't hide from iTunes in the cloud when asked, close iTunes, then reopen. You can download from the cloud links or iTunes Store > Quicklinks > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer > All songs > Download all.
2. Why? Not sure, perhaps 3rd party tools or accidental key presses combined with previously hidden warning messages when trying to organize the library. There is a hint that using the feature to downsample media as it is synced to a device may also be involved, though I've not replicated it. Whatever the reason a backup would protect your media.

I just had to have my toshiba laptop hard drive replaced and I am unable to move my itunes library from my ipad back to the laptop. It says it is linked to another library and I can only transfer purchased music etc and not the rest of the library.Help!

I have just had my Toshiba laptop hard drive replaced. This has resulted in all previous content held on the laptop to be lost. I wanted to try and transfer my music library from my ipad to the laptop, but it will not allow me to do so. The message is that the ipad is linked to another computer and it will only allow the transfer of the items purchased on through the ipad and nothing else. Does anyone know if the full library can be transferred back to the computer?

You need to transfer the iTunes Library from the most recent backup you made before the hard drive was replaced.
You can't transfer the full iTunes Library from the iPad back to iTunes.
There are third-party Windows applications that will transfer data from an iOS device, but they don't re-create the iTunes Library exactly as it was before.
