iTunes cannot play Real content, so you'd have to convert your video to a format iTunes supports. I haven't used any Windows converters that can handle Real content, so I can't make any specific recommendations. Perhaps someone else here will be able to suggest a tool.
how do i make i tunes my default player as i never use real player
Go to the Advanced preferences in iTunes and click the Set button next to "use iTunes for Internet content". That will set iTunes to be the default player for all the formats it supports. That will of course not include Real content since iTunes can't play Real's format.
Hope this helps.

I have another kind of problem with Firefox

I was having problems with the Real Player Video downloader, and saw the fix posted here in the forums, but all the threads are now closed. So, I was wondering...is there a consequence to making the alteration in the fix? What happens now? Does the browser have a different set of problems? Here is the fix we were advised to apply:
If the value is changed, what effect does that have?
"type about:config in the address bar
Then in the filter box type dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npswf32.dll.
Then change the value to false."

  • Real Player Video Downloader does not work anymore - isn't even accessible anymore - after Firefox / Adobe Flash Player update, how to fix this?

Real Player Video Player no longer provides option to download after my Firefox / Adobe Flash Player updated. How can this be fixed?

Hi David, try dropping the .dll extension, in fact you can just enter dom.ipc.plugins and it should come up. Or enter the whole thing and then backspace until it comes up. Also, I have Windows 7(x64) and this fix worked fine for me.

  • Real Player video encoding

    Hey all,
I know that compressor will not encode to a Real Player video file (.rm), so I am looking for the best app that will allow me to encode (preferably from within FCP 5), to a real video file. The app HAS to be Tiger compatible.
I know Compression Master is not compatible with Tiger as far as Real video goes, nor is the free plug-in available from Real's support site.
Anyone know if the Squeeze Compression Suite is truly Tiger compatible in this regard? Any other options for me would be greatly appreciated and thanks.

    Interesting.
I'm assuming Real shows up as a custom option then within Compressor? I've uninstalled the plug-in, but if it works from Compressor I'll gladly re-install and try my luck.
Is there any special workflow I need to know to access the Real option from within Compressor?
I actually tried the Real export from QuickTime Conversion within FCP 5, and it worked, however, the issue appears to be synch.....my audio lagged the video by about 45 frames or so.

Thanks we are not kids anymore & wiz for that matter! Most likely that video clip is not supported by your phone multimedia player. You have two option:
    1. Convert that video clip first to a format which the phone support before transfering to phone say the Nokia Media Converter(it converts some but not all video files to 3gp), or any free video converter available on the net(use your search engine(e.g. google, yahoo etc)).
    2. Install a 3rd party multimedia player for phone like the CorePlayer which support almost all format available.
    Hope it helps!

  • 5530 Converting real player videos to phone.

I was wondering if someone could possibly tell me how to transfer compatiable videos from my computer to my phone?
I have tried a few programs and real player conversion it self, but the files to do not play very well.
Any help or suggestions will greatly be appreciated.
    Thankyou.

    Hi,
To convert Videos compatible with your Nokia device, you can try using the Nokia Video Manager in the Nokia PC Suite or you can use Total Video Converter, Videora Converter. I use both of the them.

  • I downloaded and installed firefox 5, but uninstalled it because it is not conpatible with Real Player video downloader. I cannot download videos from You tube or other sites with Firefox 5. How can I resolve this problem? ooader

I use Real Player to play music and videos. I also download videos from You Tube and from other sites thru Real Player which is compatible with Firefox 4.0.1, but not with Firefox 5. Please tell me why?

Firefox 4.0.1 has been an unsafe browser since the release of Firefox 5. So please don't use it.
Real hasn't made Real Player Browser Plugin compatible with Firefox 5.

  • Real Player video freezes

When I play videos using Real player on my E51,the video always freezes at 35 min and 46s. I have tried with different videos and the video always freezes around 35 mins. The audio however continues to play.
    Any suggestions or solutions?
    Thanks

Hmm, my problem with the Photos app is a slightly different one (edit: actually, reading the last part again, it may be the same problem, if you meant images show blurry, as in it upscales the thumbnails, and you're often getting system errors. So I'm definitely going to give this one a try right now -- fingers crossed), but I now do wonder whether I shouldn't give that one a try.

  • Real player video formats

    can anyone help me??????
don't know if i am having a blonde moment, but
how do i view videos on my n70 from my pc
what format do i need to convert my files to such as mpeg and wmv, and where do i store them on my n70

Depending on the videoformat you have in your PC, you can convert them to portable format with PC Suite/MultimediaPlayer (the icon view multimedia)
Open the original video file from PC wit Multimedia Player, press the "disket&arrow" smll button next to the big PLAY button and select to what format you cant to convert.
Without knowing your originl formats, best way is to try with that and see what the quality is then in the phone.
Some other users here might have alternative proposals ?

  • Real Player Video Converting

Does anyone know how to convert .rm files into somthing like an .mov or mpg?

Well, not every wmv file is the same. There are different versions, and the X-Fi2 should play wmv 9. But as you are using the same program to convert the files, I suspect that the problem lies with the bitrate (higher than 000kbps is not accepted) or resolution (higher than 640x480 is not accepted).
So you might want to reconvert the files, and keep an eye on the bitrate and resolution.
But personally I'm having issues with wmv files in general, so I always convert to xvid. I found that xvid files have more success playing on the X-Fi2. As long as you keep the bitrate below 800kbps and the resolution below 640x480, they play very well without stutter.

  • I've lost all sound on YouTube and Real Player

    Hi there,
It seems I have lost all sound on YouTube and Real Player videos I try to play. I'm not sure if this applies to other applications as well, and neither am I sure if this happened after I installed the new Quicktime software update (it seems not, but I could be wrong). This is why I'm posting this here.
Music plays fine in iTunes and I have sound for most other applications I use.
    What could be wrong?

Am I literally missing something on my MacBook? When I try to do this, it says "output is not supported" under Audio Output.
Open your hard drive, go to Applications, go to
Utilities, and open Audio Midi Setup. Check the
format for audio output and change it to 44100.0 Hz.
