Transfer script for public sites

Is there a way for using a transfer script in public sites ?
I only want to get the content information using a script.

We're not including the destination variable in the form post that calls our cgi script. I can't get to the Edit Site Settings window in the original iTunes U store - we use this transfer script to handle the admin access, and it isn't working for that either. I've been testing a very simple version of this Perl script from a fresh copy of the sample files collection, and with debugging enabled it looks like it is getting everything except for a current time - it tells me that the time is valid, but is "too far in the past" and so it doesn't include the otherwise valid identity and credential values. I'm checking with our system administrators to verify that our server's time is accurate. Thanks for the follow-up response.

Transfer script for private site has stopped working

We had split our vintage iTunes U site into a new Public site - keeping the original access-controlled content as a 'private' site - a few months ago. We had a transfer script in place for the original site, which was used to direct users to course materials with specific credentials supplied to control access. The transfer script has stopped working at some point in recent weeks - we hadn't modified it for a quite a while, so I'm guessing that it has stopped working due to some change in the destination url. I couldn't find documentation indicating any changes to the transfer script so that it finds the original site rather than the new Public site - the site url in the script is "https://deimos.apple.com/WebObjects/Core.woa/Browse/scu.edu", which will open the new public site. If anyone has a suggestion for what we might try to get the script working again, it would be much appreciated.

Sharepoint warmup script for https sites

we want to warm up https site which is based on sharepoint 2010.
When we run some sample powershells it shows access forbidden error so we are not able to warm up https site.
Its slow on first load so need some warmup script for https sites.

Just ensure that the service account that you use to trigger the Powershell scripts has access to IIS and SharePoint. Most often, the SharePoint Farm account would be used for scheduling the warm up scripts on the WFE server.

Input requested: Issues in upgrading search for public site to 2013

We have a fully branded 2010 public site that uses search. In our upgrade to 2013:
We'd would prefer not to perform the visual upgrade because we don't want to update our master pages and page layouts.
Search currently uses a 2010 search scope to limit results to the single site collection - there are other portals on the farm.
We can't use the new 2013 result sources that replace search scopes, so I'm looking for a good way to limit search results. I know I could create a separate search service app for the portal, but I'd prefer not to do that.
Does anyone see a way to do this without performing the 2013 visual upgrade OR using custom development OR creating a new search service application that serves just the 2013. I know I'm asking to have my cake and eat it, too, but I want to exhaust
all easy options before I try something more complex.

As I understand, you are concerning about custom branding and search scope issues when upgrading from SharePoint 2010 to 2013 version.
For custom branding, SharePoint 2013 introduces a new user interface that is lightweight, fast, and fluid. To get this new experience, you must upgrade to the new UI. If your site collection contains custom branding, we recommend that, before you upgrade,

Itunes u support for public site manager

I have been the iTunes U admin for my college for years - since iTunes U first started. I cannot log into the public site manager - it refuses to acknowledge my credentials, even though I can log into my institutions iTunesU site directly through iTunes. Others have reported the same problem with no solution. Who can I call to get this fixed?

You should be able to configure this within the library settings of the master page library as below.

Did the banner image guidelines for Public Site Manager changed this week?

The guideline example illustration used to have the Provider Name underneath the Page Path (breadcrumb) on the top left of the banner image. What happened? We published our site (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising) on Monday and now the Provider Name's gone and our layout is off. Looks like the image is placed lower and some of the description text is covered by the section. Take a look at these universities(U of Arizona, Full Sail U, Carnegie Mellon U,Brock U, and Albert Einstein).

iTunes U Public Site Manager no longer displays the second level provider name heading in the upper left corner of your provider page. While removing the second level provider name heading, additional space was also removed from the page, causing existing banners to overlap feature boxes. The iTunes U Team has fixed this issue and restored the previous page layout. Review "Understanding provider page image guidelines" to learn more about customizing your provider page.

PHP Upload script for ZIP/SIT files

Hi,
I'm trying to locate a decent script that would allow clients
to upload files to a Web site that I am working on. I found a basic
one that works at www.w3schools.com/PHP/php_file_upload.asp.
However, it lack the capabilities to upload zip and sit files.
Could I modify the existing script that I just mentioned?
Unfortunately, I am not very PHP saavy. I have been Googling for
such a script but have not found one yet. I hope some one could
recommend a decent script. Thanks.

Be careful. These informations can be faked or might not be
available at
all. I can easily upload a PHP script as "image/jpeg". If the
file ends
up in a public directory within the document root, I can
execute it and
then have a look at the entire server ...
Relying on the content type or file extension is a huge
security hole!
I'm quite surprised that W3Schools publishes such an insecure
script.
To make sure that an uploaded file is really of the type you
expect, you
must look at its content! For images you can use
getimagesize(), which
will also return the type if it's a valid image. For other
types you
have to use other libs or external tools. On a *nix machine
you could
execute the shell command 'file' for example, which
recognizes quite a
lot of different file types.

Force Reset Settings Script for Public Edit Lab

I work at a public access television station where we have a public edit suite outfitted with several final cut studio workstations. We have several external hard drives that we have our members use instead of the imacs internal drives, so that each project/member can work independent of any specific workstation.
What I'd like to do is FORCE our members to reset their scratch disks every time they launch FCP, to ensure that they set their scratch disk to their properly named folder on whichever external drive they're using.
We've had issues where some members forget to set scratch disks, capture to another members project folder, to then come back and see that that other member, not knowing what the other files were, deleted them.
Is there a simple script I can set to run each time FCP is quit, or on startup/shut down, to ensure that scratch disk settings don't stick for more than one launch?

I am not sure I agree with the school of hard knocks perspective. Certainly there are times on a public system that require people to follow basic rules and procedures to get their work done, but the problem is that Final Cut is designed for a single user system, not an open lab account.
If I purchase a copy of Final Cut and run it on my personal machine I may never even need to look at the scratch disk setting. Even when students do understand how scratch disks work their is the possibility of error. Also it is very easy for one user to mess up another's work.
This may be the reality of the software but it doesn't mean it is an effective means of managing a public lab. I think finding a way to allow auto reset of the scratch disk would be a healthy reminder to anyone working in a public system, expert or novice. When working in other professional media suites such as protools you are asked to set an equivalent location when creating a new session(equivalent to a project). A similar possible setting in Final Cut would allow it to work in different environments more easily.

A similar situation happened here a few days ago.
I published an iTunes U course, not a collection, at 6:00 PM Thursday, June 26. It still did not show up in iTunes U Store or in our college's iTunes U site at 8:00 AM Monday, June 30. (I checked multiple times a day.) That was after over 80 hours.
I filled up a support request form in this web site: https://ssl.apple.com/support/itunes-u/public-site-manager/contact.html around 9:00 AM on Monday, June 30. Credit to Apple PSM Support, I got a reply around noon the same day informing me they did see the iTunes U Course up. I checked and it did become available in both places. So it took 80+ hours from the time it was published to the time it became available in iTunes U store and in our site.
We have over 120 courses and collections. It usually takes an hour or so and at most 24 hours for one course/collection to become available. It never needed more than a day, but this time more than 3 days.
So be patient. And you may fill up the support form also to let Apple iTunes U PSM Support team be aware.

Since a long time I use a script for automatic text replacements which perform with each save command.
The script sits in that folder:
C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CC\de_DE\Configuration\Commands\foo_beforeSave.htm
It works for all documents of all sites.
The source code (the regex rule is just an example) of the script you find below.
My question:
I like to perform a script like this only for a specific site.
I'm not a programmer. So I don't know where to place the script to reach that target. Or how I have to edit the source code of the script.
Is there anybody who could help me with that please?

Well, the posted script is a full working one.
I just search for a way to limit the range of the script to the actual site.
Therefore it is unimportant, which regex is in the example.

HW acceleration (direct2d) causes problems for my site , is there a script to disable it automatically?

direct2d acceleration on FF4 causes really bad font rendering problems for my site.
Text goes on to of each other and behind pictures making it impossible to read for some parts. Disabling HW acceleration fixes the problem. Is there a script that I could use to disable it automatically for my site?

In fact updating my graphics was the cause of the problem. With the old drivers there were no problems. It depends on the system. So far I've tested on 6 Windows PC's. on 2 of them it worked fine. My site should be 100% W3C compliant. It works fine on 3.6, Chrome, IE and Opera
