Transfer Structure / Transfer Rules comparison or copy

Hello,
We have our BW dev system linked to both dev and QA R/3. Consequently, the transfer rules are created manually for the QA.
Do you know if there are any tools to compare the transfer structure/rules for given data source and source systems?

Hi Michal,
What I understood is, you have only one Bw system & both R/3 Dev and R/3 Quality boxes are connected to it and you have to take data from both boxes to BW system.
I do not understand the cause of this kind of system landscape but you can assign the another data source to same infosource then you will see data comming from two system one will be for R3 Dev and other for R3 Quality.

Copy transfer structure transfer rules from one client to other client

Hi
Our R3 client 100 is mapped to BW client 100.
R3 client 100 is source system in BW.
As the master data is created by users in R3 client 200 we want to get the data from client 200 to BW. We dont want to replicate each datasource and do all stuff form scratch for client 200.
Now the question is as we need to create transfer rules, transfer structure for all master data objects for client 200 in BW.
1. Going to create R3 200 client in BW.--this is possible.
2.Like create a transport connection in BW for client 200 for all master data infoobjects transfer rules transfer structure,process chain, infopackages..etc
3.Do the source system mapping for new client 200.
4.and then execute the process chain..
What are the best ways to achieve this.
creating all transfer structure and transfer rules only for those we are loading daily ..rather than all active ones.. How can I get the list of that master data that is loading daily.. and how easily can I create transfer structure..etc dependent objects in one go than manually.
Any help or thoughts are appreciated..

Hi,
BW is not client dependent!!! When you sign on to BW, you have the client required. However, this field does not appear in any table (master data, ODS, cubes, whatever).
This means that a same BW server with a single client can have multiple R/3 connections (for multiple R/3 clients).
The database do not care about the client in BW. The data will be consolidated.
So, you do not need any new client in BW, just two R/3 connections for your two clients.

Transfer structure copied into another structure ?

Iam trying to transport an transfer structure and iam getting an error and when i looked into the SE09 log i noticed somethng strange .
I am not understanding why a transfer structure is copied into another structure as shown below in Bold while transporting ??? is this somethng normal or somehtng happening strangely in my system ?

when i have trying to transport infocube 0fiar_c03 with infosource 0fi_ar_4 from development client.the following message has shown as error "No Transfer Rule(s) available for the transfer structure 0FI_AR_4_DB in the control table".pl let me know the possible cause of error.

it seems the transfer rules not transport.
try in dev, change transfer rules,
and from menu extras (beside go to) -> object directory entry -> transfer rules -> in next screen, check if package/development class is $TMP, click pencil icon, and choose your package/dev class, system will prompt request, create new request and transport.
if package/dev class isn't $TMP, try following,
rsa1->transport connection->left panel choose 'object type' and middle panel 'infosource' and 'select objects', and choose '0fi_ar_4' and 'transfer', then you will see 0fi_ar_4 in right panel, we will use this infosource to collect transfer rules.
you may need to specify the source system assignment in transport connection when collecting objects, click 'source system assignment' and make sure your r/3 source system is marked.
choose collection mode 'manual' and grouping 'in dataflow before', and 'execute', after objects collection finished, expand the infosource and make sure your transfer rules and datasources are there and marked. click transport (truck icon).
also make sure you maintain the source system mapping in TARGET system (QAS), rsa1->tools->source system mapping (tcode rslgmp), fill 'orgsrcsys' with r/3 dev and 'trgsrcsys' with r/3 QAS, do the same for BW Prod with r/3 qas for 'orgsrcsys' and r/3 prod for 'trgsrcsys'.

Cannot activate 3.5 transfer structures after BI system copy

We have just completed our first BI system copy (database-specific) from our BI-Production to BI-QA system to refresh database. Have followed the Homogenous System Copy Procedure provided by SAP for Netweaver 7.0, DB2 for LUW. Have been able to reactivate all 7.0 content, but 3.5 transfer structures cannot be activated because the transfer structure tables are not in the ERP QA source system. All 3.5 transfer structures were working prior to the BI system copy. Can anyone provide some guidance. Have issued an OSS Note with SAP, but that can take some time to get resolution. Is there any other resolution than converting 3.5 to 7.0 as this is half of our data?

Transfer Structure Error

I am getting the following error when trying to activate Transfer Structure for 0PLANT_TEXT in BW.
Error when creating transfer structure /BIC/CCGB0PLANT_TEXT in source system ORAGDV130
Message no. R3104
Diagnosis
An error occurred when creating transfer structure /BIC/CCGB0PLANT_TEXT as an IDoc segment in source system ORAGDV130 .
System response
The action was terminated. No data was changed.
Procedure
Use the generation log in source system ORAGDV130 to identify the error, and remove the cause.
I am using PSA as the transfer method. Any help is appreciated.

To implement what is said in the note IS VERY EASY!
I have even created this program in my system. It seems to be very very useful program. Not only for your case. THE PROGRAM CHECKS CONSISTENCIES IN THE SOURCE SYSTEM AND CORRECT THEM! It may help in many problems with source systems.
So, here is a way to implement the program.
- In the text tabstrip of the note click on 'Correction Instructions' tabstrip.
- Then in the 'Ref. Correction' column choose a number that corresponds to your system PI (click on it).
- Click on a report name 'z_rs_scrsystem_r3_check'.
- In your BW system execute tcode SE38 (or ask someone with a development key), give the name 'z_rs_scrsystem_r3_check', click on a button 'create'.
- Enter program description, choose 'executable' option.
- Into the screen of ABAP Editor copy-paste the code from the note correction instructions.
- Click on 'Check', then 'Activate' icons.
- If everything is OK, press F8 (execute).
Then follow the note:
"These programs have the following input parameters:
SLOGSYS Specify the logical system name of your source system here
RLOGSYS Specify the logical system name of the BW system here
If you enter nothing here, all existing BW source system connections are processed.
Use the NO_DB_UP parameter to control whether the program works in check or correction mode. The NO_DB_UP = 'X' default represents check mode.
2. First execute the Z_RS_SCRSYSTEM_R3_CHECK program in check mode. The inconsistencies detected by the program are issued as a log. Now start the programs in correction mode (NO_DB_UP = ' '). Then execute the program again in check mode (NO_DB_UP = 'X'). This program may not eliminate all inconsistencies during the first correction run. Then execute the program again in the check mode (NO_DB_UP = 'X'). This program may not eliminate all inconsistencies during the first correction run.
3. If the error continues to occur:
Check the transfer structure in the source system using transaction SE11. Use note 147195 if namespace conflicts are reported in the consistency log.
After the correction has been made, you should check to see whether it is possible to switch your transfer rules from the IDoc transfer method to the PSA transfer method.
We recommend that you use the PSA transfer method."

Error when creating transfer structure in source system

We have just had a copy of the ERP production system done and connected it to our existing QA system (done by our service providers) for a test go-live of our ERP upgrade.
Now I cannot activate the transfer rules as the transfer structure cannot be created in the source system.
I have checked the settings in table RSBASIDOC and they look okay, I can only assume that our wonderful basis people have done everything they should have but cannot be sure they've done it all correctly.
The sourcesystem is active, the RFC's are fine.
And help for a desperate man please. I've got to get this working in 1 day as basis need the system back to do an Oracle upgrade.

Try to replicate the DS once again and the run the program RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL to activate your transfer structure. Hope it helps.

you can add infoobjects in the communication structure and they will be available in the transfer rules.
the transfer structure is a copy of the fields available in your extractor, so to add fields here you have to append them to the extract structure in your source system

Transfer Structure 'USES' Box

Hello Friends
I have a quick question for you.What is the 'USES' checkbox for in the Transfer Structure on the far left side, right next to the CONVE box.What does teh 'Uses' box signify and what does a green check present or absent there mean.

The column 'USES' identify whether the field is used in the communication structure or not.
To give you an example, lets say you have two fields KTOPL and HKONT in your extract structure of the data source and you have transferred these fields to the transfer structure, however you have mapped only KTOPL to an info-object where as HKONT is not mapped (in assign info-object section of transfer rules tab). That means KTOPL will only appear in the communication structure. If you check the USES column, you can see that it will be checked (a tick mark) for KTOPL where as "blank" for HKONT.

Transfer Structure Could not be Collected

I am trying to activate some Business Content (CO-OM-CCA Costs & Allocations).
In the Select Object Popup, after selecting the required object and I am pressing the Transfer Selection. Now I am getting the errors as below
1) Object 0VALUATION_TEXT D6B100PCC (Transfer Structure,ISTS) could not be collected for object 0VALUATION_TEXT D6B100PCC (Transfer Rules,ISMP)
2) Object '0VALUATION_TEXT D6B100PCC' (ISTS) of type 'Transfer Structure' is not available in version 'D'

This error is coming even I try to activate some DEMO Content (CO-PA Demo Cube).
I am Grouping the objects with the Option In Dataflow Before and Afterwards with Collection Mode as Collect Automatically

Hi Nathan,
Make sure the objects are active. If so, then goto the infosource -> Extras (from menu) -> Object directory.. -> Transfer rules -> assign the package and it would ask for transfer structure later so assign the package to that as well.

Transfer structure 0BUS_AREA_TEXT_HA does not exist

We are transporting InfoCube - 0FIGL_C10. which we had collected in a transport request with grouping as in Data Flow Before. This request ended with return code 12 with error message "Transfer structure 0BUS_AREA_TEXT_HA does not exist, Error RSAR 440 when handling objects with type R3TR ISTS"
After this I collected the transfer rules of 0BUS_AREA_Text with grouping as dataflow before and after. the transport of this request also failed with return code 12 with the same error message "Transfer structure 0BUS_AREA_TEXT_HA does not exist, Error RSAR 440 when handling objects with type R3TR ISTS"
has any one faced this error, please suggest the corrective action to be taken,

try in dev rsa1->transport connection with infosource 2lis_03_bx as starting point, collection mode 'manual', grouping 'in dataflow before', and click 'source system assignment' (yellow box with x) and make sure r/3 source system is marked. then click execute. it will collect objects, after finish, make sure transfer rules, transf structure and datasource are marked following the infosource. create request and transport.

Transfer Structure activation

Hi all
I need to execute a specific Infopackage in the Quality System . However , When i try to open the infopackage it gives a message saying " transfer structure not yet active " . When I go to the Transfer structure and try to activate it , i get a message saying " Cross Client customising not allowed " .
Can anyone please help me resolve this issue . I am pretty new to BIW .

hi,
you have to transport the transfer structure/rule from Dev system. your QA is set to not allowed changes.
to transport, logon to Dev system, transaction rsa1 >> transport connection >> choose 'object types' in left frame then find 'infosource' in middle frame and expand, click 'select object' and entry your infosource where the trasnfer structure belongs to. make sure the source system is marked in 'source system assignment' (click yellow box with X), choose 'in dataflow before' for grouping and collection mode 'manual'. expand the infosource, make sure the transfer structure is there and marked. create request and transport.

Transfer structure Transport ?

Hello Experts,
Transport from System1 to System2.
Transfer structure, data source, transfer rules, infosource are already present in the target system system2.
I made modifications to the transfer structure in system1 and added just the transfer structure to the transport request to system2. It failed with these messages. Highly appreciate your suggestions.
Error: "There is no Datasource with these attributes"
Warning: "Reference to transfer structure ABC_AB not available. No activation possible".
Wondering if I have to include the datasources in the transport request along with the modified transfer structure.

If you have made changes in the Transfer Structure and the transfer rules, I would advice you to transport the entire infosource to system2.

Fields missing from PSA Hierarchy transfer structures

Hi,
I am facing a strange problem. After replicating the source system and running program RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL we are getting errors in 0Equipment_hier and 0funct_loc_hier. it complains about missing equnr and tplnr fields from the transfer structure.
We were using the datasources all the while, but we might not have done the replication in a long time.
Since it is a PSA hierarchy, it has Header and Node communication structures. The Node should be mapped to EQUNR but it not coming from Transfer structure.
I executed 0Equipment_hier from RSA3 and I can see the fields like nodename and infoobject. but even in PSA we don't see the fields.
We applied latest SPs in BW. SP 20 BW 3.5. Any help is appreciated.

try to check the transfer structure if the fields have been included,
rsa1-infosource-0equipment transfer rules - change transfer rules,
click tab 'datasource/transf.rules', check if the equnr is in left side (bw transfer structure), if it's not there, check if it's in right side (source system extract structure), if it's there, cursor position on it and use right arrow button there to have it in right side.
