Transfer Video to DVD

I have taken a lot of video footage of my son's football games with my sony digital handycam. I have downloaded the footage to Final Cut Express so I can edit it and make a video. I haven't had time to do that yet but one of the parents has asked me for the game footage. I'm not sure how to take it off of FCE and put it on a DVD. This is what I tried so far...I clicked on the file and exported it using quick time. I then put it in a burn folder and burned it. Here is the problem. The footage looks really bad. It looks rather jumpy and it skips some frames. It doesn't look like this when I view it in FCE. Please help me understand how to get this footage to one of the parents on a CD with better quality. Is there a format that I should download it with that he will be able to use to edit it as well?
Thanks so much for your help!

I say in theory, because it should work but anything can happen.
As for the where in iDVD, it's called a "drop zone". Open up iDVD and select a theme you'd like to use. Depending on the theme, you could have one or multiple "drop zones" where the movie will appear as a thumbnail. Upon previewing your iDVD creation, in most cases clicking the thumbnail will play that given movie.
If you need assistance beyond that with iDVD, you should probably slide over to that specific forum.

  • How to transfer videos to dvd's

    Hello,
I downloaded the free quick time for my grandsons ipod. Unfortunetly it turned all my home videos to quick time format. I can't get them to transfer to dvd now, so that we can play them on our dvd player. How can I fix this? any help is appreciated. I already removing quick time player. It didn't help. I hate to loose all my videos as I have no copies except on my computer.

it is easy to solve only with the help of *DVD Creator* software. if you are not very sure about the operation, you can refer to the guide article "How to Convert QuickTime(.MOV) to DVD on Mac?"

how does ipad transfer to a dvd

The iPad doesn't. You can copy films and tv shows bought from the iTunes store to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases and you can then copy them to a DVD for backup purposes, but you won't be able to play them in a 'normal' DVD player.
If you mean videos that you've taken with the iPad then you can also copy them to your computer : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083

Go to the Map mode in your iDVD project and make sure the blue bin at the left is empty.  That's where you drag slideshows to if you want the DVD to open immediately to that slideshow and bypass the menu.
If there is an item in there drag it out.

  • What is the best way to transfer video from a Panasonic HDC-SD60 camcorder on to a DVD using iDVD?

I am trying to get my Panasonic HDC-SD60 camcorder to transfer video over to a DVD using iDVD.  The iDVD wants the firewire connection to be used,  No mini USB to firewire line exists.  Any help?

iDVD is part of the iLife suite of apps.
in this collection, iMovie is the 'importer', esp. via usb from AVCHD-devices like yours.
plus editor, I mostly doubt, you haven't to 'clean' here&there your recordings
from there you 'share' to iDVD.
you'll notice a loss of quality in this process due to  cam is HDef, any videoDVD is always SDef .....

  • I want to transfer my VHS-C videos to DVD.

I want to transfer my VHS-C videos to DVD using my I MAC (Mid-2011).  I have the camcorder (Panasonic PV-IQ305) to use.  I also have a VHS player I can use.

Does the Panasonic camcorder have the play thru capability? If it does you can connect the camcorder to your Mac with a FW cable, put in a tape, launch iMovie and play the tape in the camcorder to import it into iMovie.  If the camera does not have play thru see if you can find one that does.  Then connect your VHS player to the camera and the camera to your iMac.
Otherwise you'll need to use a converter like the Canopus converters. They are not inexpensive but do an excellent job. I used the ADVC-100 model to convert all of my VHS videos to digital and then burn to iDVD. There are undoubtly other converters on the market that do the same function.  The Canopus is the only one I've seen discussed in this community.
If you could borrow a camcorder with pass thru you could save a few $$$.

  • Satellite A660 - how to transfer video from my digital camera?

How do I directly transfer video from my Panasonic digital video camera to my A660? I want to burn DVD. Camera has HDMI output and/or 3 wire (audio / video) RCA jacks.

    Hi
The camera should support other ports in order to move the files to the computer.
The mentioned ports like HDMI out and RCA can be used in order to connect the camcorder to the LCD TV but not to the notebook.
So check the camcorder again there should be an USB port (mini or micro) or firewire which would help you to export the files.

  • HT1535 how can I transfer videos from my itune library to my friend's ipod

how can I transfer videos that I've made at home, and that I converted so that I could play them on my ipod, which are now in my Itunes library, to my friend's ipod, without erasing all the stuff on his ipod?

Email the files to the friend to import to their iTunes library.
Copy the files to a flash drive to be imported to the iTunes library on their computer.
Burn the files to a CD/DVD.
Any of a variety of options that in no way involve connecting your friends iPod to your computer.

  • Recording from a video to DVD on my Qosmio

Extremely easy. INstall "WinDVD Creator 2 Platinum for Toshiba" that is on the "Additional Tools & Program" CDs that was provided with your Qosmio.
After installation, reboot. Once you take control again, apply this patch (double click the .ref files)
    http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tools/updates/windvd-creator-reg/regpatch-xp-na.zip
Now open winDVD Creator 2 and from then on you will figure all out by yourself. (you can select if you want to record from tv, composite or svhs). It will record in .mpg (MPEG2) format, ready to burn on DVD.
    Later,

If these were home movies on DVD's then my answer would be yes you can just do a search on Google for DVD to Ipod.
If we are talking about store bought movies. Well we are not allowed to discuss that. As per the terms we agreed to when joining this Forum.

Hello, I want to know how I can transfer videos to my ZEN. If I put a DVD in my DVD-Reader and try to open it with the Windows Media Player 0, then occured an error, that says there is no codec installed, so I cant get the Videos to my Hard Disk.

I use Windows XP with SP3.
Could you please help me? Thank You!

That is true you need to convert the files before you can load to player. But you will also need a dvd ripper to get onto the harddri've. I use this to rip Clone DVD+AnyDVD both have free 30 day trialshttp://www.slysoft.com/en/? & anyvideo converter free to convert to AVIhttp://www.download.com/Any-Video-Co..._4-066456.html

  • FX5600U 128 VTD Video to DVD

OK I finally installed the Video capture drivers properly for this card (ie the ones not including a TV Tuner driver) and everything seems to have gone in ok with no more errors.
I want to transfer loads of old home video to DVD but I feel as though I'm groping around in the dark.  What do I need now?  I've got Nero DVD burning s/w and a DVD-R writer I assume I need some software to capture the video in, manipulate it then write it to DVD.  Can someone point me to good, esy to use  (cheap) s/w that does this.  Am I right in assuming the Audio out from the VCR is connected to Line in of the sound card and Vout is connected to Vin of the FX5600.
    Help please.

  • Transferring old videos to DVD with Satellite M70

Is it feasible to connect a video recorder to a Satellite M70 in order to transfer video tape recordings to DVD? If it is, what cable do I need?

    Hi there,
since your notebook is only equipped with an TV-OUT, you cannot just connect a video recorder to your machine, because to do this you will need an Video-IN.
The only chance you have is to purchase a external video grabber for PCMCIA or USB.
With such Video Grabber youre able to receive external video signals and to record/edit them.
Heres a link which shows you an example what I mean:

    Hope that will help you.

  • Transferring VHS Video onto DVD via Macbook

    Hi
I've been given a large project and need some (simple) help.
Its to transfer about 40 VHS tapes onto CD,s.
Help please as How/what do I need/ is there any step by step instructions?
    Thanks

    Hi Nigel
First, please be clear about exactly what you need to do. You need to transfer video from VHS, but if you need to burn video to a playable disk, you need to create DVDs, not CDs (which are for audio or data only). If you're unsure about this, check with the person who gave you the project.
Next, you need a VHS video player with video outputs. It's most likely that you'll have RCA-style "composite" video, which is a yellow connector, along with red and white connectors for the audio. You may also have an S-video connector, which is a round multi-pin socket. If it's a newer VCR, you might even have component video, which is a series of three red, blue and green sockets.
The third part of the equation is getting that video into your computer. With a MacBook, you don't have any kind of video-in socket, and even if you had a Mac Pro desktop, you would still need to purchase a video capture card to get the video in.
However, Macs (except for the very newest MacBooks) all have Firewire ports, which is an industry-accepted way to import video. If you have a video generating device plugged into your Firewire port, you will be able very easily to pull it into iMovie, or Final Cut (Express or Studio). So if you can borrow/rent a device to convert the video to a Firewire signal, that's the best solution. You can use a digital camcorder that has composite video in and Firewire out (usually the most readily available solution), and any professional "video deck" will also do this for you. There are conversion boxes available, but they are quite an investment if you have to buy them.
