Transfer video to ipad without computer/itunes

My macbook pro recently died and I can't afford to get a replacement right now. So I would like to know if there are any apps/programs to install on my bf's computer so that I can transfer videos from his computer to my ipad without clearing my ipad. I am currently using Air Video (or something like that) but it only works as long as both my ipad and his computer are connected to the internet, which obviously won't work once we leave the house.

Pad2, the new iPad Supported Video Formats & Movie Formats
H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import.

  • HT201317 How do I sync video from ipad to computer using Lion and iphoto 9.4.2

I have new Mini Ipad and newest version of iphoto, Lion O/S.  Photo stream does not transfer video from ipad to computer.  Transfer app very slow and does not always work even though all devices and Wi Fi 5 feet from each other.  What other method can I use.

Connect it to your computer using a USB cable and import any video into iPhoto.

how to transfer files from mac to ipad without using itunes ???
as i want to use my ipad for official use as well...please suggest..

well to be 100% technical, no you didn't but that aside, it good to know there are ways for people to transfer music into the default apps without iTunes, if they have a need.
I tend to use 3rd party apps for documents, like your mentioned iExplorer etc, which are handy.
I see from a search the two "apps" you mentioned are not iOS apps, which I had assumed, SyncPod and FreeSync are apps for your computer, that would explain their access to the default Music/Video apps.
I had wondered how Apple had allowed iOS apps in the store that could get around the sandboxing in iOS of apps.

  • Is there a way to transfer music from PC to IPad without using ITunes

can I transfer music I already have on my PC windows 7 to my IPad without using Itunes on the PC? I cannot get it to download on my PC.

Only if you are in a country where you can re-download your iTunes purchases on your iPad's iTunes, and if you've signed up for iTunes Match for the CDs that you've copied - otherwise you will need to go via iTunes on your computer.
If you are having problems downloading iTunes on your computer then you could try posting in the iTunes for Windows forum and see if anybody there can help.

  • How to download youtube videos to ipad without using a computer.

How to download youtube videos to ipad without using a computer???  Looking to download some videos people created using Dr. Jean music.  My kid used Dr. Jean in preschool and wanted to keep singing them at home.
Looking for a friend that doesn't use a computer.  I myself have downloaded some kids educational stuff and added to itunes and then put on ipod/ipad using firefox.
Is there an easy way, so they don't go to the photo roll??
    thanks in advance.

There are some Apps you can use, but be careful they will only download these videos inside the App, so you won't ba able to play them in your video app or share them.
Most popular is the app called "Video Download" but there are a lot of alternatives for free and even with more quality which you can pay for.

On the iPad from the computer does not make sense. If you want to go from iPad to computer - connect the iPad, launch iTunes, right click the iPad name on the left under devices and select Transfer Purchases.
From the computer to the iPad .....
    Sync with iTunes.
Connect the iPad to the Mac and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Movies Tab on the right.
Click on all of the movies that you want to sync to the iPad.
Click on the Sync Movies Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes

How do I transfer photos from iPad to computer?

For photos taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083
For photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer (which has a free lite version called Simple Photo & Video Transfer) which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you ten copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.

  • HT201302 transfer videos to ipad from pc

i want to know how to transfer movies to Ipad from pc? as i have downloaded movies from internet and i want to watch them on Ipad, ipad supports AVI format?

If you have them on your computer's iTunes then you can try syncing them by connecting the iPad to your computer and selecting it on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and on the right-hand side on the Movies tab selecting and syncing them to the iPad's Videos app. If you get a message that they are not compatible with the iPad then try doing Advanced > Create iPad Version and then try syncing those versions.
If you can't get them into your computer's iTunes then you will either need to convert them into a compatible format, or you could have a look in the store for AVI players.

  • How do I transfer video from iPad to mac?

I have videos on my iPhone that I want to transfer to my MacBookPro.  I managed to damage the copies on my Mac so I deleted the damaged copies and I would like to put them back on my Mac from my iPhone.  I tried to do this using my iPad, which also had the videos but the sync process deleted them from my iPad.  I don't want this to happen with the copies that are on my iPhone.  Is this transfer from my iPhone to my Mac possible?  If so, how is it done?

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer. iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only purchases from iTunes Store For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer (except as outlined in the documents Niel linked) you will have to use third party commercial software. • How to transfer videos from iPad 3 to my Mac

I recently purchaced the 3rd generation iPad. I have taken videos using the Camera app installed. I now want to get them transfered to my Mac Air. Can someone help me learn how?

I don't know why iTunes is so much complicated. I use iPad manager utility to transfer files and manage all the content on my iPad.
It's good because even the free version of this tool works well and lets you transfer data between ipad and Mac without paying anything (yeah, it pops some random dialogue box while transferring data). Try it!

  • Sync videos to iPad, without "include videos"

I have two videos in iPhoto which I want sync'ed to my iPad 3, so I checked "include videos." But now it will include all videos in the events that I want to sync, and I rarely want that. If I uncheck "include videos," it removes the two that I want.
So my question is, how do I get those two sync'ed to my iPad without checking "include videos"?
    Thanks!
    iMac 24", 10.7.3

You can not directly sync an iPhone with an iPad. You can sync certain data with the help of iCloud as long as both devices are setup with the same Apple ID. iTunes Purchases can be downloaded to multiple devices as well, as long as they are also signed into the same account. iTunes Match can help with music not purchased from iTunes although you would have to start with a computer.

  • Transfer video to ipad

Apple is supposed to be the best?  I gave an ipad to someone as a gift - she wanted to use it for photos and videos - can't transfer videos no matter what cables she buys - Apple has definitely lost a customer here - what is cool about spending more than an hour trying to transfer a video from a SD card to an ipad.  How is it possible that a computer and a couple of cables are needed to do such a simple thing despite having an icloud account and putting in your apple id password 10 times!!!

So import it into iTunes and sync it that way. Or upload it to something like dropbox and then download it to your device.
You can also experiment with a program to change the format and help with the size. mpegstreamclip is a free converter to change it from .mov to .mp4 which may reduce its size and make it e-mailable or someting you can import off the card.
Also, this is a user to user forum. There's no one apple here, so while I totally get your frustration, there's nothing here we can do about it beyond try to help you fix it.
