  • How to transfer video/movie to ipod from iTunes?

    Hi,
Recently, I have got my new iPod Touch 4G.  I succesfully transfered songs/apps from iTunes to my iPod Touch. But I don't know how to transfer video/movie to my iPod. I can't add a movie/video clip to iTunes ( File-> Add file to Library).
Is there any video format conversion required?
    Thanks
    Siva

  • How do I transfer videos from my ipod touch to my iphone 4s?

How do I transfer videos/films from my ipod touch to my new iphone 4S.  Hasn't synchronised anything, had to create music folders and copy across but won't let me do any videos/films I have downloaded off my DVD's.

For ipod to iphone transfers, you need to go through iTunes on your computer.
You mention DVD films.  Have you already copied them to the ipod touch?  If not, and the DVDs are commercial films, then you need to rip them, transcribe them to iphone format before syncing them.

  • Cannot transfer videos into my ipod touch after upgrading to iOS5 and iTunes 10.5! HELP!

before i upgraded into iOS5 and iTunes 10.5 i was still able to transfer videos with mp4 format.
after i upgrade, i cant transfer anymore.
I CANT TRANSFER THE SAME VIDEOS I HAVE.
I CANT VIEW VIDEOS THAT I DOWNLOADED FROM THE APPLE TRAILERS.
    what went wrong?
    any solution?
is apple even aware of this?
i need to sync my videos
i dont like syncing them on a third party app.
    please help and advice.
    thanks!

I am encountering the same problem. And its really frustrating to see that the same videos that played earlier cant be played now. WHY?
There are some itunes forums that give the solution as :
Add the video to iTunes. Convert it into correct format using iTunes. But when i try to add, it doesn't even show the video on the list. No error message is also shown to indicate why the video is not added even to iTunes. Earlier it added but gave error when doing sync. Now i cant even Add.
Does anyone know if how to make APPLE aware of this?

  • How can I transfer Video from old IPOD to new

I bought an IPOD from Ebay and would like to transfer the video from my classic Ipod to a new nano.
    Can I do this?
    Thanks

Not directly (iPod to iPod). Instead, if you do not already have them in your iTunes library, you need to first get them back into your iTunes library. Then you can easily sync them out to any iPod you connect to that library.

  • Why wont it allow me to transfer Videos to my iPod

I am currently using ImTOO iPod Movie Converter to convert my .mp3 and .mpeg files into .mp4.
But after I convert it, I tried to move it into iTunes under the video category, and when I drop it, it doesn't show up. But when I try to put it over the iPod source icon, I get the Circle with a dash saying I can't.
I've also tried to convert them to .mov files but when I do, they are extremely slow and the audio does not match the video and the video is way blurry and speeds over the audio.
What should I do. Is there a way I can transfer the actual extension (.mp4) to my iPod or iTunes and it actually working?

I'm not sure what method you are using, but if the normal method fails (see my last paragraph), another way is to use Image Capture to import clips to your iMac. These clips can then be imported to iMovie by selecting from iMovie's menu: "File > Import ⇒ Movies".
The Image Capture app is located in your Applications folder. Firstly, connect the iPhone (or whatever phone you have) to the iMac using a USB cable. Open Image Capture, wait for the device to be recognized (and for thumbnails to be generated), select the clips you want to import, then click the Import button. The file (or files) will normally be saved to the Desktop.
You should now be able to import the saved clips to iMovie, as I described in my first paragraph above. If this fails you will have to convert the clips to an iMovie friendly format. An easy way is to right-click (or Control-click) on the file on the Desktop, then select "Encode Selected Video Files" from the pop-up menu (it's the last item on the menu). Choose the desired Setting (480p, 720p or 1080p) and select "Encode for ⇒ Greater compatibility". Save to the Desktop or any preferred location. The encoded video should now be able to be imported to iMovie. When importing, check (tick) the box "Optimize video" and select "Full - Original Size".
If iMovie is open when you connect the phone to your iMac, it will usually start generating poster images (thumbnails). When these are generated, a window will appear in iMovie showing all the thumbnails. You can then select any or all of these for import. That's the usual way. But if this is not working for you, then use the Image Capture and Encoding method I described above.

  • How do I transfer videos from an Ipod Touch 4g to a Windows 7 PC?

I can't access them through "Computer" and then Ipod device (I can access pictures that way).
I don't see how in Itunes.
I HOPE I don't have to BUY a piece of software to do this.
I thought perhaps there was some way to do it using the bluetooth in the Ipod and in my computer. Doesn't appear to be. I can do it with my cell, though.
    Any ideas?

  • How can i transfer videos from my iPod to my computer?

I can easily copy photos from my iPod to my computer. I just go to the iPod camera drive that appears on the "My Computer" menu when i plug my IPod, open it, copy the photos and paste them wherever I want. Altough, I cannot do the same for the videos. How can I take them off the iPod?

When you plug your iPod into your computer using a USB, does a file manager pop up with several options to download photos/videos? If not, that could be your problem. But if it does, which option have you been picking? Try picking all of them and see which one will let you download your photos and videos. You can sync all of your photos to your computer, which will also sync all of the videos onto the computer. You may have trouble if you are using a laptop. In that situation, I would suggest using a desktop computer.

  • Can't transfer videos to ipod / video settings don't show up in itunes

hi everyone, i have a very frustrating problem.
i am a college student and have my ipod synced with the computer in the dorm but am home for the summer so am using my parents' computer. i installed the ipod video software and ran the 3-23-06 ipod update, but was unable to transfer videos to the ipod (even though they are in the correct format - i tried the "convert selection for ipod" thing and itunes didn't because it said it was already in a correct format.
so i uninstalled itunes and quicktime, and reinstalled, hoping it would work. however the problems remain. i cannot drag videos into my ipod (even though they are successfully added to my library and are in the correct format). additionally, whenever i go to the ipod settings window, there is no video tab, i have installed all the requisite software and have the latest itunes version, and have windows service pack 2 as well, so i dont see why it doesnt work... i meet all the requirements and have installed everything necessary... does anyone have any ideas as to why this problem is occurring and what i can do to solve it? theres no point to having a video ipod if you cant send any videos to it - anyone know what might be causing the problem?
    thanks,
    scagneas

Hmmm that is weird. Have you gone into your Ipod options and made sure under video, that you DO NOT have "do not update videos" selected. If that is not the problem then try this.
Make a new playlist to hold your videos in your Ipod. Then under "videos" in your Ipod options select "Automatically update selected playlist only", and then select the playlist that you created to hold your videos and click "ok". After you do that put the videos into your library, then from your library click and drag the videos into the playlist you created to hold your Ipod. Then update your Ipod and you should have them on their.

  • HT1535 how can I transfer videos from my itune library to my friend's ipod

how can I transfer videos that I've made at home, and that I converted so that I could play them on my ipod, which are now in my Itunes library, to my friend's ipod, without erasing all the stuff on his ipod?

Email the files to the friend to import to their iTunes library.
Copy the files to a flash drive to be imported to the iTunes library on their computer.
Burn the files to a CD/DVD.
Any of a variety of options that in no way involve connecting your friends iPod to your computer.

  • How do I transfer songs from one ipod video to another

I want to transfer songs from one ipod to another, but how do i do it. 2 itunes?

You can't transfer directly from one iPod to another, the songs have to be in iTunes and you update your second iPod from there. If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows. The procedure is a bit involved also it was written long before iTunes 7 so it requires a little adaptation as the iPod preferences are no longer in the location described. Also it won't transfer playlists or videos as far as I know. However if you're interested it's posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
