Transfer Windows 7 OEM from iMac to Dell D630 Laptop

I purchased a Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 Bit, System Builder OEM DVD from Amazon last year.  I installed this on my iMac in conjunction with Parallels.
I rarely use Windows 7 on my iMac, but installed because I needed to run several Windows programs.
I have decided that it is just too slow and would like to install Windows 7 on my Dell 630 laptop, that is currently running Windows XP and no longer have MS support.
Am I able to use my Windows 7 OS to install on my laptop?  I heard that the software may be tied to a single install, but wanted to be sure.
Would MS allow me to do this?  Don't want to break laws/rules, but hate to spend any additional money I really don't have when I already have the software.

Use of this OEM System Builder Channel software is subject to the terms of the Microsoft OEM System Builder License. This software is
intended for pre-installation on a new personal computer for resale. This OEM System Builder Channel software requires the assembler to provide end user support for the Windows software and
cannot be transferred to another computer once it is installed.

  • Cannot print from IMac or Dell Latitude Laptop on Canon MX330 printer via Airport Extreme.

Trying to connect a Canon MX330 printer to an IMac and Dell Latitude laptop via Airport extreme and having no luck.
All devices recognize the printer, but when I try to print from the IMac it says that the printer is offline, even though it is not. The printer status on the IMac says offline until I clear the printer queue and then the status goes online.
When I try to print from the Dell laptop the printer reacts, but nothing prints.
I have run through all of the troubleshooting in the support section online. Any advice?

Unfortunately, not all USB printers are compatible with AirPort base stations. In addition, the  AirPort's USB port does not support the "advanced" printer functions, like scanning, copying or faxing, of multi-function printers.
To see if your printer is compatible, take a look at thisiFelix Unofficial AirPort Printer Compatibility link. If your printer isn't listed, it doesn't necessarily mean it won't work, but simply that it has not been verified. iFelix also provides the following workaround for printers not on the list that would certainly be worth a try.
Also you can try this Apple Tech Support article to see if it will help: Printer troubleshooting for AirPort Base Stations and Time Capsule
Finally, check out this IBM support article to see if your printer is listed as having a Postscript or PCL3 interface. If it does, then it will most likely work with the AirPort's USB port. Printers that use the "HP LIDIL" interface must be connected to a computer directly and will not work.

  • How do I transfer my iTunes library from an old, slow pc laptop to a newer faster pc laptop? Do I have to take a copy of my iTunes library on the hard drive of the old(er) pc laptop and load it onto the hard drive of my new(er) pc laptop?

How do I transfer my iTunes library from an old, slow pc laptop to a new(er), faster pc laptop? Do I have to make a copy of the iTunes library on the old pc laptop and re-install it on the new(er) pc laptop? Is it something that can de done using the actual iPod itself?

This is the method I would normally recommend:
Backup with this User Tip, restore the library to the new computer using the same tool, keep the backup up-to-date in future. Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer need to access protected content on it.
You can use your iPod classic to move your library to a new computer but if you don't already have a backup copy of the library (and your other important data) now is the time to think about it.

How do I transfer Photoshop Elements 10 from old computer to new laptop?

You need to installed it in the same way as you did on old machine.
If you like to save one instance of the license then please do de-activate while uninstalling.
Or if you have already used your "Two" instances of installation then you must need to de-activate one of the machine while
uninstalling so it will release the instance for new installation.

    Utter nonsense.

Just use the defaults. Windows 7 is very slow and really RAM-hungry. You will need 8 GB of RAM on your Mac because Windows 7 needs 2 GB all by itself. Even with that, it runs twice as slow as Windows XP.
If you've already spent money, there isn't much you can do at this point. I suggest using Apple Pages and, when you are ready to submit something to your professor, export it as a Word document and then re-save that Word document as a Word XML doc. I don't know why Pages doesn't export in docx format. It is built into the operating system. I even have a little utility that will save your clipboard directly to docx. You can download a fully-functional demo from: http://www.etresoft.com/pastefiler
There are many other utilities that can do the same, including Office 2011 itself. I prefer Pages because it supports modern OS X technologies and is much faster and easier to use than Word, but Pages only exports to DOC, not DOCX. Word is better if you are doing really sophisticated document, but it costs a fair amount money.

  • How can i transfer all my photos from iMac iPhoto Library to macbook pro to iPhoto or Adobe Lightroom 5

Just bought a 13.3" Macbook Pro Retina display Mid 2014 and would like to transfer all my Photos from my iMac to my Macbook Pro.
I have a thunderbolt cable ?????? Would it work if i connect them together and how ? If i can get some assistance and instructions on how to do it , Will be appreciated .
    Best regards
    Sam

To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
    Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
    If you're moving to Lightroom:
You need to export the images from iPhoto to the Finder, then import them to your Lightroom Catalogue.

  • Transfer a keynote presentation from imac to my ipad2

    1) Can I transfer a keynote presentation from my imac to my ipad2?
    2) How do I do it?
    3) Will all features and actions of presentation stay intact?
    Thank you

I think the easiest way to transfer a keynote to your iPad is to use the ICloud sync between the keynote app on your Mac and iOS device.
This should transfer all the stuff in your presentation that it looks the same.

How do you transfer a movie rental from desktop to laptop?

When you drag a movie from the Media Browser to the Time lIne in GarageBand, you will see a pop-up "Extracting Audio".
The Movie and the audio file will appear in separate tracks. You can copy the audio region from the sound track to a different track to keep it safe and then hide the Movie track.

  • How can i transfer my itunes library from my ipod to my laptop

how can i transfer my itunes library from my ipod to a new laptop

3 things you need to transfer music from iPod to itunes: iPod, computer, iTunes.
step 1 connect your ipod to your computer via the white USB cable.
step 2 open My Computer, or just Computer from the start menu and look for the ipod drive. It should be in the (F:) drive. You will see the ipod logo in the listing of disk drives.
step 3 Now you should have a new folder called ipod_control. Open that folder up and you should see the following: Calendar, Contacts, ipod_control, notes, photos, ect. If you are trying to save all of your music then the ipod_control folder is the only one you need to worry about.
step 3 Open the ipod_control folder then open the music folder. Copy each one of those folders (should look similar to these: F00, F01 ...) onto your computer.
step 3 Open itunes and insert the new folder you created on your computer's desktop into: library ---> Music

  • How to transfer Windows 3 data from a G3 with a bad floppy drive

My first Mac was a PowerMac G3 beige tower (233 Ghz) in 1998.  At that time I installed VirtualPC running Windows 3.0 to use a genealogy program that didn't run on a Mac and input all my family data.  I have a 5 inch floppy disk with the data but when I tried to use it to transfer to a newer computer, I got a message that one of the files (of course it had to be the biggest!) was corrupted.  Now the floppy disc drivenon the G3 has failed.  I bought a "new" drive off the Internetn but it doesn't work either.  Windows 3.0 doesn't recognize USB, so I can't use my external floppy drive.  Is there any way I can transfer the data via a direct connection to another Mac?  I have a eMac (educational version of the original iMac, vintage 2002) that still works, also a PowerPC iMac and an Intel iMac.  I will be extremely grateful to anyone who can keep me from having to input all that family info again!

"I have a 5 inch floppy disk with the data but when I tried to use it to transfer to a newer computer..."
Do you mean a 3.5" floppy disk, used with the G3's internal FDD?  Unfortunately, long-term data storage on a floppy disk is risky, as degradation of the magnetic oxide on the disk's surface can contribute to file corruption.  The beige G3s had a "SuperDrive" FDD, which unlike a standard PC floppy disk drive, combined data and power on the same ribbon cable connection and didn't use separate cabling for each.  Is the "new" floppy drive that you bought designed for use in a beige G3?
"Is there any way I can transfer the data via a direct connection to another Mac?"
Are these same files stored on the hard drive in the beige G3, eliminating the need to read the floppy disk or are they solely contained on the floppy disk?  If the latter is the case, you still need a working FDD to read the disk, even with a networked connection between the beige G3 and the eMac or PowerPC iMac.  If you can transfer the files to a newer Mac, were you planning to install VirtualPC on the newer Mac, to run the Windows 3.0-based program and read them?

  • Is there a way to transfer windows 8 license from old pc to new macbook air?

I got a macbook air about a month ago.  I was wondering if it was possible to transfer the windows 8 os license from my old pc laptop to the macbook air?

If you bought Windows 8 on a DVD, you can transfer the license from your PC to the MacBook Air, always that you remove Windows 8 from your old PC.
If Windows 8 came with the PC, you can use that license only with your PC, not with the Mac

  • How do I transfer an IPages doc from iMac to iPad

I have created a doc on imac 10.7.3 os using ipages. Want to down load the template to an Ipad for use to take meeting minutes. I have tried to run it thru ITunes, but no luck.  Tried to export and save in folder where my photos are that go on my IPAD2 ......HELP

    James,
You can't transfer "templates" created in Pages on your Mac to your iOS device. Templates are special files with the extension .template as opposed to normal pages documents with their .pages extension. You can't add templates to the template library on your iOS device; you can only add documents to your iOS device and re-use and re-name them as psuedo-templates.
In order for you to use the document you create on you Mac on your iOS device do the following (your iOS device needs to be connected to your Mac or connected to a power supply and using the same WiFi network as your Mac):
    1. In iTunes go to your device Apps pane > File Sharing > Select Pages as the App > Click Add and locate your Pages Document - if the file isn't immediately copied to your iOS device, click on the Synch button.
    2. On your iOS Device, open Pages and in the Document View (Thumbnails) tap the "+" button (upper left) and Add From iTunes - this will transfer the document into Pages and open the document.
    3. Without editing the document, return to the Document View. You can place this document into a folder of similar documents that you would like to keep as "templates" - label the folder with something meaningful like "Masters"
    4. To use the "templeate" in Pages on your iOS device, in Pages Document View > Edit (button upper right) > select the document (tap once) and when the Copy Icon appears (looks like two pages with a "+" sign) tap the Copy Icon - this will create a copy of your original "template" - rename it then you can edit, save, share, print, etc.
    Hope this helps.

  • Canon Pixma Printer prints from Windows, but not from iMac PLEASE HELP!

I have a Canon Pixma IP-400 USB printer connected via Airport Express Base Station. I can print just fine from my Windows computer, but when I attempt to print from my iMac, I get +"Error Nubmer : 300 The printer does not respond. Make sure that the printer is plugged in, powered-on, and properly connected to your computer"+ The printer is +plugged in, powered-on,+ and +properly connected+.
The weirdness is that I can connect the printer directly to the iMac and it prints just fine! I tried replacing the cables (both USB and power cables) to no avail. The iMac prints fine to our other (laser) printer on a different Airport Express Base Station.
    Any suggestions? Thank you!!

See my post "Need help to get printer to work".
