Transfer workspace from CS6 to CC

Where is the workspace file? I want to transfer my workspace from CS to CC. Dreamweaver was no problem.

I'm doing this on 10.8.4
You will have to go to your user /library/preferences....but since osx 10.xx (I dont know which one exactly) the Library folder is hidden SO...
....In your FINDER menu under...
GO (hold down alt and you will see library apear among other things), click on it
go to preferences/ find your “previous CS product settings” folder/find workspaces/copy them to the workspaces folder of your CC product
I did this with illustrator an indesign and it works, i copied my workspaces from CS6, and i have done the same thing when going from CS5-CS6.
This time is a little different. “Illustrator CC setting” folder ......is called “Illustrator 17 settings” and for indesign is “version 9.0” folder.
Of all the CC products only Photoshop asked me if i wish to import my previous workspaces.
I wish those guys developing different apps would talk among themselves once in a while.
I hope this helps.

  • Transfer settings from CS6 to CC

    Hey everyone,
Just wondering if there was an easy way to transfer all my effects, settings and plugins from CS6 to CC. I have an 27in iMac (just to give you an idea of what my operating system is).
I want to transfer all my settins from CS6 to CC but cant see an easy way to do it. I have loads of stuff that I need to transfer over including all the Red Giant plugins and don't want to spend the million hours thats going to take. Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

Check your Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/Media core directories for 3Rd party plug-ins. Copy them from CS6 to CC or create an alias.
    Plug-in's done.
Check your Documents/Adobe/After Effects CS6 folder. Copy the contents to CC or create an alias. Pre-sets done.
If you can't see the root Library file in Finder try using the Go To Folder link from the Go menu in finder and enter /Library
That should do it for most things.

Select your Action set. Choose Save Actions from the palette drop-down menu.

How do I migrate sites and settings from CS6 to CC?

Well. With Dreamweaver CC, you could use the Sync settings feature to transfer workspaces from one CC machine to the other.
But with CS6 workspaces being transferred to CC there is a not so intuitive way to do it.
Backup/Rename the CC workspace folder [resent at C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CC\configuration\workspace to anything you like.
Copy the workspace folder from C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS6\configuration\workspace to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CC\configuration\workspace
Now you should have your CS6 workspaces in CC.

  • Can I sync my custom workspace from CC into CC 2014 (on the same computer)?

I'm specifically trying in Illustrator CC 2014 and my custom workspace from Illustrator CC doesn't show up. I've manually synced on both sides and no luck. I assume this issue applies to all of CC 2014. Thanks for any help!

    Hi jfallon,
You are correct. You cannot automatically sync the workspaces present in Illustrator CC as this feature is available only in CC 2014 apps. So, you need to transfer workspaces from CC to CC 2014.
Check the below links for how to do so.

  • Transferring saved workspaces, brushes, scripts, etc. from CS6 to CC on a PC using Windows 7

This is what I came up with...
Transfer saved workspaces, brushes, scripts, etc. from CS6 (Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) to CC on a PC using Windows 7.
Go to start menu < computer < (OS) C: drive < documents and settings* < user (your user name) < application data** < adobe < adobe illustrator (or adobe photoshop)***
*To see the ‘documents and settings’ folder, I had to go to start menu < control panel < folder options –  select view tab – uncheck hide protected operating system files (recommended). The computer will prompt you to go ahead, say ‘yes’ then hit apply.
** There is another folder above ‘application data’ named ‘appdata’, this is not the correct folder.
    * & ** I could not access these folders no matter what user settings I selected or logged in as administrator. I did an internet search and found the following successful:
If the the folder denies you access to share… right click on the folder < select properties < select the ‘security’ tab < click the ‘edit’ button < select any and all users named ‘everyone’ < select ‘remove’
After I removed the ‘everyone’ users, I was able to successfully share the folder to my user and access.
*** I did not have an ‘adobe indesign’ folder, scrolling down the list it was labeled just as ‘indesign’. So was ‘bridge’, ‘dreamweaver’, etc.
INDESIGN: Below are my exact paths for my particular system:
< adobe < Indesign (inside this folder I have three folders: Version 7.0, Version 8.0 and Version 9.0 – which correlates? to CS5, CS6 and CC.) < Version 8.0 < en_US < Workspaces (inside this folder I have two files of each workspace – for example named: ‘xyz.xml’ and ‘xyz_CurrentWorkspace.xml’, I don’t why there are two similarly named files??, so I copied both and pasted both (and it worked.)
< copy the workspaces you want to bring into CC
    >Go back, to the Indesign folder and then to < Version 9.0 < en_US < Workspaces and paste the workspaces.
I did the same for scripts: copied from the Version 8.0 folder to the Version 9.0 folder *Please note that, with updated versions, your scripts may not work…
    < Version 8.0 < en_US < scripts < scripts panel (copy scripts.)
You can do the same for Greps, Glyphs, Find/Change, etc.
I copied entire folders over from the en_US folders: ‘Indesign Shortcut Sets’ and ‘Glyph sets’
PHOTOSHOP: Below are my exact paths for my particular system: * please note I also have a ‘photoshop’ folder in the ‘adobe’ folder, which did not have what I was looking for to carry over.
< adobe < adobe photoshop CS6 < adobe photoshop CS6 settings – copy all files < go back to adobe < adobe photoshop CC < adobe photoshop CC settings – paste all files

To turn off UAC, go to the Control Panel, then User Accounts.
Under the header, "Make changes to your user account", there is an entry titled "Change User Account Control Settings".
Pick it, and drag the slider all the way down to "Never Notify".

    Hi,
first, I'm not Adobe's "slave" as you might to accuse me. Most of the posters here are users like me.
I only can repeat that what I found in Adobe's help sites, as I wrote above. You are free to figure out the "real" truth and - the best would be - you may contact Adobe directly, here are - I'm sure you know them -  the links I would use: http://helpx.adobe.com/support.html  and http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html.

Your .wma (proprietary to Windows format) will not play or convert in iTunes Mac so convert them in iTunes Windows to .mp3 before moving your library. There are other converters on the Internet - do a search.

  • How to Transfer Colletions from Bridge CS5 to Bridge CS6?

How to Transfer collections from Bridge in CS5 to CS6?  I tried to copy my collections to the new Bridge but for some reason I do not see an option.  I tried putting on Keywords on my collections so that I can pull them up again but for some reason it won't write keywords anymore?  What is the best approach to transfer collections.  Thanks.  KC

What is the best approach to transfer collections.  Thanks.  KC
On a Mac both the keyword file and collections are stored in the user library (by default hidden in OSX lion) in the user account.
    The path on Mac:
user / library / Application Support / Adobe. Inhere you should see both Bridge CS5 and bridge CS6 if you have upgraded while the older system is still on your system.
In Bridge CS5 you see several folders and files. The keyword file that has all your in CS5 created keywords is called 'Adobe Bridge Keywords.xml' and the folder called Collections should have all your saved collections in it.
You can copy the keyword file to the same location in CS6 and also the content of the collections folder can be copied to the CS6 folder.
After restarting Bridge CS6 they should reflect the correct collections and keywords.
Don't know the path on Windows but it might be similar.

  • Transfer from CS6 to CC

My nik software did not transfer from CS6 to CC. also my "collections" did not transfer.  How do I get them to transfer?  Steve

I solved the nik problem (you have to access plugins before reloading the programs) but still can not transfer my "collections" from bridge cs6 to CC. The collections  am referring to is one of the tabs in bridge such as folders, metadata, previews, keywords, etc. I have many stored folders of images in collections that I would like to transfer instead of rebuilding from scratch.

  • How do I transfer all of my Preferences, etc. when upgrading from CS6 to CC

    Hello,
I just decided to upgrade today from CS6 to CC. After downloading Premier Pro CC, I notice that NONE of my Preferences, Sequence Presets, Media Export Custom Presets, Effects Presets were carried over to the new version of CC.
Surely, I do not have to manually re-create all of these presets/settings.
Can someone please tell me there is an easy way to get everything transfered over from CS6 to CC?
    Thank you,
    Robert

The best option is to use Migration Assistant to restore your data from the old computer, and as you have a Time Machine backup of the old MacBook, use that backup.
The link from where you have posted this question gives you the steps to transfer files from another Mac, but transferring files from a Time Machine backup is even easier. To do it, just connect the Time Machine disk to the new computer and then, open Migration Assistant (it's in /Applications/Utilities) and follow the steps.
When Migration Assistant finishes, you will have a new user with the data you have restored from your backup, so go to  > Log Out and log in the new user. If you want more information about that process, read > http://pondini.org/OSX/MigrateLion.html
If you haven't set up the new computer yet, you can restore the backup through Setup Assistant. See > http://pondini.org/OSX/SetupLion.html

  • My Photoshop CS6 Extended did not transfer properly from Macbook to iMac. I am being asked to 'buy' it.

My Photoshop CS6 Extended did not transfer properly from Macbook to iMac. It was treated as a trial and now I am being asked to 'buy' it.

I have run into this before. Click on "license this product" on the Trial countdown screen.
Sign in if asked with your Adobe ID/Password  The Cloud is an option for those who do not have a serial number license. It isn't mandatory.
Then look for the "I have a serial number" option.
And enter it from there and activate. Your trial should convert to Photoshop Standard or Extended depending on the serial number.
Of course migrating or restoring from Time Machine does break licensing.
So aside from uninstall, run the Cleaner tool Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
and use Disk Utility to verify your disk and run a "Repair Permissions" before install.

  • How do I transfer photos from aperture and iPhoto to bridge?

How do I transfer photos from Aperture and iPhoto to Adobe Bridge.  I am using Photoshop CS6.  Many of my original photos were stored as raw files.

Here's how to access Mac iPhoto images for use in Photoshop
and so that they may be viewed by choosing that folder in Bridge..
    1. In the Finder, navigate to Users > [user name} > Pictures > iPhoto Library.
    2. Control-click (Right-click) the iPhoto Library file and choose Show Package Contents.
    3. A Finder window opens that shows the contents. The Masters folder (or called Originals folder) contains all of the photographs that are in iPhoto.
Photoshop cannot access this folder, but if you make a duplicate of the folder, the dupe will be accessible -- so:
    4. Control-click (Right-click) the folder named Masters (or Originals) and choose Duplicate.
5, Drag the duplicate folder which is named "Masters copy" or “Originals copy” from the iPhoto Library Finder window to the Desktop.
    6. Open images in Photoshop from file on desktop or view them in Bridge.
7  Rename the folder and move it elsewhere (probably to the Pictures folder), if desired.
