Transfered contacts not appearing in address book.

Verizon Wireless transfered the contacts from my old phone to my new BB8330.  The contacts are not appearing in the business or personal folder.  Previous numbers I had dialed that were in my old contacts now have the contact name attached and when I receive a call from a contact the contact name and number appears!  The same thing is true with voice activated dialing,  contact names will appear that I cannot find in the address book.  It seems that the contacts transfered but I cannot find them.  I read in the technical forum that the contacts could be in the sim card, but I don't believe my phone has a sim card.  Help!

Welcme to the Frums!
Go to your address book - PRESS MENU KEY - FILTER and uncheck any boxes that are checked -
See if that helps!

  • Synchronized Contacts do not appear in Address Book

    Hello,
I have OS 10.6.6, iSync 3.1, Address Book 5.0.3 and a NOKIA 6500c Phone. I successfully installed the plugin for the Nokia (at least it seems like it, the phone is recognized).
I have like 6 contact in Address Book and like 150 on Phone. When I do the "first time" sync I chose "merge" phone and computer. When doing the sync, on the phone display a status bar appears and it says x/150 synchronized, as should be, and within a few seconds its done. But the contacts do not appear in Address Book. I've tried this a few times after resetting the syncing settings and everytime I do the first time sync, it appears to work, but nothing appears in Address Book.
Funny is: If I change the phone number of one of the existing 6 entries, that I have in my AddressBook on computer, on the phone, the change is synchronized to the computer. But no new entries are entered on the computer.
    What am I missing?
    Thank you!

There should be an option within the phones menus somewhere.
I think its something like choose Edit on a contact and change the *Store to* option to phone
Or, it may be something like this:

    The phone's manual may help.

  • Favorite contact not found in Address Book

My brother is starred as a favorite contact in my contacts list but his name/nor contact information can be found in my address book...Also another problem I have recently found is my neighbors contact information is missing although I can recieved text messages from him and his name appears along side with the text message.....Any suggestions?

After several days of trying, i finally seem to have it working. What i ended up doing was exporting my backing up my addresses on another computer that still had Snow Leopard on it. I exported both as .abbu and vCards. I was then able to get the vCards into iCloud.
Problem was, i could not get them to import into Contacts in Mavericks. I could not even add the iCloud account to contacts. It would let me sign in and choose contacts, but iCloud never showed up in the accounts nor did the contacts show up in Contacts.
After trying repairing permissions and resetting the PRAM to no avail, it occured to me to delete the Address Book folder from /Library/Application Support
Once that folder was gone, i was able to add iCloud to the accounts and import the .abbu file from Address Book.
So if you did not export your Address Book contacts before updating, you will need a second computer that is still running Snow Leopard to export the contacts. Then you can delete the Address Book folder from the Library and you should then be able to import the contacts into Contacts on Mavericks.
    Hope this helps.

  • Google Sync Not appearing in Address Book

    Hello:
I just upgraded my mac book pro from 10.4 to 10.5.8 to be able to sync my address book with google contacts. I opened the address book, and opened preferences and my only options are mobleMe (which I have), exchange, and Yahoo!. Other messages suggest syncing with an iPhone or an Ipod. I hooked my 4G iPod and synced contacts. Re-opened address book and still no google contact options.
Anybody have any ideas how to get around this? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
    Linda

you need an iphone or an ipod touch to get that option in Address Book. a regular ipod won't cut it. there are hacks around this issue. you can try this one
    http://www.zaphu.com/2008/05/29/how-to-enable-mac-address-book-syncing-with-goog les-gmail-contacts-without-an-iphone-or-mac/
as with any hack you use it at your own risk.

  • Contact not displayed in address book but appears in mail merge list

Using Outlook 2013 to do a mail merge. Items in address book updated - some deleted, edited, etc. - appear correctly in Outlook. Using the import/export function in Outlook or the mail merge wizard in Word 2013 produce the same list of names - no deletes
or edits that were made in Outlook. Some items in Outlook were missing. I've tried adding them which appears to work but they do not show up in Outlook. Could there be 2 files?

Yes. I've deleted ALL contacts and resync'ed. I've deleted the number from both Google Contacts and the iPhone. I've tried adding just from Google Contacts and I've tried just adding on the iPhone. I've tried the number with the 1, without the 1, etc.

  • Contact not transfer to address book

i have i phone 3gs and when i add new contacts in my i phone not trancfer to my mac address book after sync by itune please help

Thanks for the suggestions. Resetting sync history did allow contacts entered on the phone to be transfered back to the computer. They do not however go back into my category "Mobile Phone" in the address book. They must be manually transfered back to the category "Mobile Phone".

  • IOS 5 contacts: not shown in address book, shown in spotlight

A friend of mine with an iPhone4 and iOS5 reported to me he could not find (had lost) some contacts in the address book.
When i used the spotlight-page (swipe in the homescreen so you get to see the screen to the left of the homescreen) COULD find the contacts: you see the contact, and when selected, you get to the page in the address book with all the details.
So the contacts are there, but the Address Book just will not show them!
I am still looking for a fix for this. Does anybody know of a way to fix the indexing of the address book on the iPhone, as that might be the problem?

I had this also.  My contacts were not showing in the Contacts App or the Phone App but were when I searched.
If you went to Groups from Address book it only showed an option for contacts for my Google Apps contacts.
Originally I had icloud set to not do anything with contacts because I thought they were at Google Apps.  I turned on icloud for contacts.  Then when I went to groups from Contacts or Phone App there was an All Contacts option which then showed all my contacts.

  • 8330 - Contacts Not Visible In Address Book

    Good afternoonn all!
I'm having a problem with my Address Book - my contacts are "there" (in the Address Book options it shows 129), but their not visible when I open my address book.  If I dial out or send a message, or receive a call or e-mail, the contact's information shows up (i.e. dialing 555-555-1234 shows up as John Smith), but is not readily availble in the address book.  I've switched between Business and Personal contacts, but none are in either group.
As far as I know, there was nothing that I did "out of the ordinary" before this issue crept up.
    Many thanks for your help.
    All the best,
    Jason

I am having a problem with my 8310 that sounds the same as yours -- I have it synched to my outlook with enterprise server, and I now cannot add any new names without it clearing half the alphabet. It started a few months ago when I'd try to add a colleague and check off MM which is my category for work people. If I wrote the company name (which starts with M) in the persons field, then when I saved the contact, and viewed all the contacts in a list alphabetical, and hit "m" to see all the M's, it would only show that last person I put in - and no other names. I'd hit N, P, J, etc, and it would say "no entries found" even though there are 575 entries in my phone. I tried eliminating fields and discovered that If their name started with M, it would be a problem... sometimes it was the company name, so I'd leave that blank and it would solve the problem. HOWEVER, now it's at the point where I can't even add someone's name - no phone, no email, no company, no category - just their name - and they are listed before the A's in my contact list - and make it so half the alphabel brings up no contacts. This happens no matter if it was done on my computer screen or in the blackberry itself. I am extremely frustrated and have resorted to deleting all new contacts once I've added them because they cause this problem. I consider myself fairly computer/bb literate, and have been clearing all filters and categories. Nothing seems to solve it - and this happened in my older 8310 too (that one got exchanged due to an email problem). HELP

  • CardDAV Contacts Not Showing in Address Book "Aware" Apps

At work, we use the Snow Leopard CardDAV server. As such, all of my contacts are located in that CardDAV "group" ... not the "On My Mac" group. When I try to email from iPhoto '11, add buddies in iChat, import numbers in Skype ... basically any app that is Address Book aware ... the applications only "see" the contacts in the "On My Mac" group. I can't get any of the contacts from my CardDAV group.
Has anyone else see this behavior? Any workaround?

I'm having the SAME issue. Apple has created a great software package that CAN'T work with itself. My Apple Address book is connected to my OS X Server (10.6) via CardDAV - NOT a SINGLE program from Apple besides Mail can read the CardDAV source. iCal auto complete - useless. Drag and drop a contact from AddressBook to Numbers - Only if it's 'On my Mac' Even Billings (not Apple) will only read a local source. Anyone have a solution?

  • Synching contact with Gmail adding contacts not in Gmail address book

I am using Gmail as default email. When I synch my iPhone 3G to update the contacts, I am getting addresses that are not on my calendar list in Gmail. These phantom emails appearing are addresses that I sent email to but typed in their addresses manually. They are not coming from Gmail's contact list directly.
Is there a way to stop this strange behavior and only synch the info in my Gmail contacts list?
    Thanks in advance.

When new contacts are added, they are added to whatever account is set to the default.
To add a contact to another group:
    Select Contacts
    Select Groups.
Turn off contacts for all but the account desired to add the contact to.
    Select Done.
    Add the new contact.
    Select Groups.
    Turn on all contact groups.
    Annoying, but it works.

  • Iphone 4 Contacts not syncing to Address Book

    Hi,
I have an Iphone 4 with latest software 4.3 and have been syncing contacts to the address book on my macbook pro via iTunes. It has recently stopped updating any new contacts I add to my phone to the address book. Any help much appreciated.

I've been working on making my contacts sync properly for the past 2 hours. I basically did what Jimmy Crown suggested but with a couple added steps.
"Go to Settings, Mail, and then scan through all your accounts and make sure that the contacts switch is turned OFF for each mail account.
I believe this setting overrides the address book sync with instructions to sync with mail. So once you switch it off, the address book on your mac should automatically start syncing with your iphone."
When I turned off my iCloud - Contacts it asked if I wanted to delete contacts or merge them. I of course merged them because the contacts I couldn't get off my phone and on to my computer were certain iCloud ones. When I merged them I now had double contacts for roughly 120 people. I then synced my phone with my computer. This created double contacts on my computer and phone. To take care of this I opened address book on my computer, clicked on Card, then Look for Duplicates. Once it found all the duplicates I checked the box then clicked Merge.
I then re-sync'd in iTunes but made sure I had the "Replace information on this iPhone" contacts box check marked. This took care of all the duplicates on my phone.
    Hope this helps.

  • Contacts not updating in address book 5.0.3

I have an iPhone OS 4.2.1 and the Contacts on the phone are no longer updating in my Address Book 5.0.3 on my Mac computer when i attempt to sync within iTunes 10.5.3.
Within iTunes in the Info section, "Sync Address Book Contacts" is checked, and within that "All contacts" is selected.
I've never had this problem, they've always synced before.  Any suggestions as to what is going on?

Well no, because I haven't had to do that when entering any other field (such as email address, home address, etc.), For those fields, it saves/edits/updates automatically. It's only with the "anniversary" line that I'm experiencing the problem. But I've just tried your suggestion now, and it's WORKED!  Thank you!  Now I'm curious as to why other fields update without hitting edit after entering, but anniversary doesn't.  Maybe next time I'm at the Genius bar, I'll inquire.

  • Contact information not showing in address book

Migrated from Snow Leopard to Mavericks and the address book shows no contacts. The data appears to have been correctly imported into my user folder > library > application support > address book folder (but the icons show up as "Unix / Terminal" not "blank").
I've run permission repair and daily / weekly / monthly maintenance routines to no avail.
    Any suggestions?

  • Updating Contact info from Mail not displaying in Address Book

So I was updating an existing contact from Mail using the data detector feature. Address Book was already running in background. I clicked on the data detector and said "update existing contact". I pick the contact that I want to update. When I go to address book to see if the contact was updated, it "appears" that it hadn't updated. However, if I exit address book and restart the data does appear. So it get's in the database but doesn't display until exit and restart.

According to the log, iSync thinks that the Address Book is also working but no data gets transferred in either directon. Any suggestions? Thanks.
