Transfering 'Actions' from PSE 6 to PSE 10

HELP!!!! I recently bought a nice set of actions, installed them correctly, then decided it was time to get the new PSE 10. I was unaware that when I purchased it from the MAC App store that I was buying a new version. Not just upgrading. So now- I have these lovely actions sitting on my PSE6 and I don't know how or what to do to get them to my new elements 10. I followed step by step instructions to install in 6- but when I follow the same intstructions to put them in 10- there is no version 10. (but it is in my dock).

Unfortunately, the app store version is different and anything that involves deleting mediadatabase.db3 usually doesn't work. If you need your actions, are they ones that you can install in the actions player in guided edit: i.e., actions that don't require you to stop and use tools or have access to the layers panel?
If not, your best bet is to use the Report a Problem link in your receipt to get a refund and then buy PSE 10 elsewhere.

Save them from the flyout menu in the top right corner of the Actions palette in CS2, then load them into CS4.

Cannot find picture when transferring from Aperture to PSE 11

Cannot find picture when transferring from Aperture to PSE 11
I have an older version of PSE and when I transferred a picture from Aperture to PSE9 it would open PSE9 and show the picture.
I set the Preps in Aperture for PSE 11 and the PSE 11 opens but no picture in the box or photo bin or in the top left "open".
I changed the Aperture setting to the PSE Organizer and the same thing happened Organizer open BUT there was no picture to be found.
In Aperture it shows the file being transferred.
I looked in the PSE 11 preps and file but could not find anything.
The fact that it opens the PSE 11 app tells me it is being recognized but the picture (file) is going somewhere else.

Make sure you are linking to the application in Support Files and not to an alias.

Issues transferring pictures from iPhone 6 to PSE 8

I Have PSE 8 for many years and never had an issue transferring pictures from my cellphone to PSE 8 until I upgraded a month ago to PSE 13. I didn't like this new version so I contacted customer service to cancell the recent upgrade. Then, I went bank to my PSE 8 and I can't transfer pictures from my iPhone to PSE 8. The USB works and I use windows.

I usually see this error reported when the iPhone connected has not been unlocked prior to being connected. Disconnect the phone from the computer. Unlock the phone with the passcode and make sure it is "awake" when you connect it to the computer. This seems to be a quirk under Windows 8.

I have PSE 13 on a Mac using Yosemite I am trying to install actions from Florabella. The instructions at the last step is to go to Locales en_us MediaDataBase.db3 file and delete it so that when I restart PSE to rebuild, I will be able to see the Eff

That file could be set as a Launch Agent or Daemon in your ~/Library or /Library, You could try to look for it or Safeboot your computer and then empty the trash. I used to use PS "actions" are they in PSE 8 for Mac?

I have been using an old version of Photoshop for Mac. Under the Windows heading there was an Actions option where I could "record" some actions to edit photos and the"play" it to perfrom the same actions on different photos.
In PSE 8 for Mac I see that under Guided Edit there is an Action player with 4 presets, none of which suit my purposes. It says that I can add (from where I don't know) or create my own actions sets by referring to the Help menu. When I search the help menu for " Create Action set" I get 15 topics and none of them seem to be about creating actions sets.
I'd like to be able to record a set of acttions such as OPEN FILE- SIZE IMAGE-UNSHARP MASK-SAVE-CLOSE- and then play it back.
Help appreciated.

When you save an action from photoshop 7, you should be able to
choose the place for saving (i.e. desktop).
The default place for saving actions is very often in the ps7 application folders.
Something like: Applications>Photoshop 7>Presets>Photoshop Actions.
As far as what actions from ps7 work in pse8, try to record steps in your
action that are available in pse8. Something like unsharp mask will work,
but not a command such as convert to cmyk. There are alot of commands
that are not on the pse8 menus that do work such as a layer mask or trim.
It would be good idea to test your actions in pse8, before installing a whole bunch and
finding that half of them don't work.
You could make test action for this purpose. In ps7, record an action
such as Image>Trim.
Name this action set Test (you can name the actual actions anything you want)
and put it in your pse8 photo creations>photo effects folder.
Then delete (move to your desktop) the MediaDatabase.db3 and start pse7
(this will take a while to rebuild the effects panel).
The Test action should be visable in the effects panel after selecting
photo effects and show all. It wiil just be a black thumbnail named Test.
From now on when you want to test an action, just replace the Test action
with another action named Test, but with the action steps your testing
and no need to delete any files (database).
By testing your actions in this way, you avoid the hassle of making a
xml file and a png thumbnail for an action that may not work.
When installing actions that have been tested, you also need a xml file
and a png thumbnail file in addition to the action. (look at xml and png
files already in the photo effects folder for examples).
You don't have worry about the jpeg files, as elements generates these itself.
It's a good idea to delete (move to desktop) the the MediaDatabase.db3
and the ThumbDatabase.db3 anytime you install actions other than the Test action.
After you start pse8 and everything works, you can delete those files from your desktop.
There is also an action player in pse8 under guided edit>automated actions.
As tempting as it may be to test actions with the actions player, i would avoid that.
One very good reason is that some of commands that are in pse8 don't work with
the actions player, for example, any of the transform commands.

Editor actions lose weight option PSE 11

I was working on a picture in editor, clicked on the window tab, then actions, then lose weight. There was an option to click 2% or to click 4% to slim up the photo. I have now lost the 4% option. How do I get it back?

If you lost the 4% lose weight action, perhaps you should reset the actions to the Defaults and see if the action appears after the reset.
Click on Reset Actions from the flyout menu on the actions panel.
Below are the default actions after reset in pse 11 (the ones loaded into the actions panel)
(The others listed in the flyout menu below Load actions are ones i put into the pse 11 preset>actions folder)

We check the transaction STRUST and STRUSTSSO2, the certificate between ERP and EP expires today. The ERP system is SAP R/3 Enterprise and EP release is 6.20
Please how can we create the certificate in that releases of SAP ERP and EP, we only found information about this procedure in the newest releases.

What I have found is that when I upgraded from PSE12 to 13, my Lightroom 5.6 still selected PSE12 in the list of external editors. I had to use the preferences menu to select the right PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe in the Program Files/Adobe/Photoshop Elements 13 folder. I got a message stating that Photoshop Elements was already selected as external editor. In that message box, there is a button with the option to 'change anyway', which I did. Now LR correctly opens PSE13 when I choose Edit in Elements.

Transferring Actions Palette from CS5 on PC to CS6 on Mac

I recently upgraded from CS5 to CS6. The CS5 license was on a PC, the CS6 license is on my new Mac.
I have access to my old PC still, but I have not been able to figure out how to transfer my Actions or my Camera Raw presets (.XMP files) to the Mac. I need access to these Actions asap and am not able to recreate them. Would very much appreciate any help on this.

Hello, you need to save the actions from the Actions panel's flyout menu to a given location (some make a copy in an online folder) , and load them from the equivalent panel in CS6.
In ACR, are those presets, or develop settings for each photo? If the latter, copy them over with the photos.

Transfering photos from old laptop to new with different versions of PS elmnts

We have PS Elements 4 on an old lap top, running Windows Vista, which is beginning to fail.
Have just purchased new lap top running Windows 8 which will not accept PS Elements 4 as it is incompatible, but it has partially loaded.
Shop says they transfered photos across from one to the other but cannot find any of the tags for 7000 plus photos.
Am intending to buy PS Elements 12. but being 70 plus am not computer savvy.
Is there a step by step idiots guide on how to get said 7000 plus photos, complete with all the tags on them, from old LT to new LT at the same time converting them from PSE4 to PSE 12.

Ability to initiate PS Actions from LR

I have a nifty watermarking action (thank you Russell Brown) which it would be nice to use in LR. To do so now is cumbersome to the point of unworkable.
1) I want to initiate a PS action from LR on a photo or batch of photos.
2) I want to initiate PS actions on images which are being migrated to a web layout. This is where the watermark action would really be useful.

You cannot work out Bridge and yet you come on these forums and you lecture/harangue people on how LR/Photoshop should be used/designed!?
If you spent the amount of time you do on these forums actually learning how Bridge/PS/PSE work, then that might be time better spent.

A file Browser's functionality is to.. er..file browse, though if it's designed to work as part of an image editing programme or image workflow, it can take on a different role in prepping images for the image editor or even handling your image processing workflow entirely, as is possible with Bridge+ACR.
It's funny as I thought the very good Organiser in PSE 4+ 5 was a file browser and I wish Bridge/LR had adopted the excellent and very powerful visual tagging interface. I also requested the brilliant Calendar function for inclusion in Bridge, sort of included in LR, but nowhere near as good as ACDSee's fantastic implementation.

I have problems transferring files from PC to Mac and from Mac to Mac

I have problems transferring files from PC to Mac, and from Mac to Mac. PC to PC is fine. Nothing but problems with the Mac. One example:
While working on my PC, I open shared folders on an external HDD connected to the Mac. I click on paste to move the files. I get an error after a few seconds to a minute of trying to move several files from my PC Win 7 to Mac OS Maverick, that there is a file already at the destination on Mac. This statement is true, but it was just put there because I am copying them over in that same action. It reads 0Kb and wasn't there before I started. Then I get an error: The Action Cannot be completed because the folder is open in another program. Close the folder or file and try again..
Whether I click on it a bunch right of way or wait, it still takes about 45 seconds. I have to do it with every file and it only happens when copying from a PC to Mac. I have even restarted both computers so nothing is using any files. If I copy one file at a time, I don't get any error.
So I have one file to move, no problem. If move 5 files, The first will go fine, but it shows all 5 files in folder at once. All other files than the first show 0kb. I get the file already existing error once it starts the second file transfer, and I select move and replace. Then I get The Action Cannot be completed because the folder is open in another program. I wait or click repeatedly until it starts to move file. That file will then show something other than 0kb. When it is done, the error process starts all over. I tried checking the PC with unlocker, but the files do not show themselves locked on the PC.

Its not only French. Even certain characters in English will come across as gobblydegook from 1 platform to another. I see this in emails that likely were composed in Word & the characters don't come across.
Not sure if this is still true, but years ago someone explained that there is a standard character set & then I think its extended characters & those vary from platform to platform or language to language, etc.
