Transfering Apps from one Itunes account to another

I bought my step-daughter an Ipod for christmas. She went to her dads house over the holidays and set up her ipod to work with his Itunes account. Then she went on a shopping spree and spent over $100 on music and apps! Problem is she lives with us and now realizes she can't sync with her computer when she is at home and also has to share any Itunes gift cards with her dad and the step-family over therre. She wants her own Itunes account but obviously doesn't want to loose her apps. I know this must have come up before in the past and I hate to ask an old question but the search feature doesn't seem to be finding any results on this. Does anyone know of a transfer service or some such that will get the apps she wants from her dad's account and transfer them to her new account?

What you can do is use one account for regular use, and the other account could only needed to be used to update applications?
In other words, make her an account and only use her fathers if you need to update an app.

  • Transferring apps from one itunes account to another

I bought the original IPad from a family member, so it was set up with there ITunes account and all of the apps that are on it. I would like to transfer everything that is currently on the IPad over to my computer with my ITunes account, without having to reset the IPad and purchase all of the apps all over again. I need to manage my IPad through my computer and ITunes account, not the one it was originally set up under.
I have managed to do this with an IPod, so I can imagine it would be possible with an IPad.

Not trying to doubt you or anything but you probably did something else with the iPod such as use 2 accounts simultaneously in which case you would have to log out and in each time you needed to update

  • Syncing apps from one itunes account to another.

Hey guys, first forum post so go easy on me pls
The other day I decided to download some apps from my mums itunes account since I didnt have any money to pay for them myself. When it came to syncing/copying the apps from her account, it decided to delete most, if not all the apps from my own account.
I had a read around and have "authorised" both my laptop and her macbook, and the iphone registers this. However, I tried to copy some apps from my account this morning and it seems it wouldnt have been possible without deleting the ones I had copied from her account.
Is there any easy way around this syncing problem? Or will I just have to keep buying things from my own itunes accout?
    Any feedback is appreciated

  • Transfer purchased apps from one iTUNES account to another

I have purchased a few apps on an iTunes account, have set up a new account and bought apps on that. Can i transfer apps from one iTunes to another?

The Solution is that you will need to keep account A active for as long as you have those Apps...
Or you can Get Them Again using account B... But if they are Purchased Apps you will have to pay again...
Free Apps are of course Free...

  • Transferring songs from one itunes account to another with song info.

I'm curious to know if this is possible. I download a lot of music at work under my boss's itunes account. I burn a cd and download it to my home computer, under my account. The songs play, but it's missing the info./grace note tag. What are my options, besides manually adding the info to each song? Is it possible to use my itunes account on my work computer? Thanks so much!!

    Michaela A,
There is no direct way I know of in iTunes for coping your songs to an external device like a harddrive or memory and transfering to another PC. You have to do it in windows explorer. There is an artical on using your iPod to transfer music from a old PC to a new one. You can use these steps if you have an ipod or read them to get a general idea on what you need to do to transfer using your memory stick. If you use the stick you may not need to do some steps or alter others, but here a link to the artical

You may even set up a home network, like a wireless one. then you could transfer tons of things between them or use the share feature in iTUnes, so you could have all the music on one and access the music on the other laptop via the network

  • Transfering library from one itunes account to another itunes account

Is it possible to transfer my library from my ipod touch itunes account to my ipod nano itune account?
If it is possible how would I go about in transferring my library or some of my songs between accounts?

Ok first of all, you don't need different iTunes libraries (if that is what you mean by "accounts") for each iPod. You can plug many different iPods into the same library and use them with the same library. And you can even sync each iPod in a different way from the others, still using the same library.
So is that what you are wanting to do, have everything in one library and use both iPod with that one library?
Or am I misunderstanding the question?

  • Can you copy music and apps from one iTunes account to another?

My nephew got an iPod touch for Christmas and for some reason my husband decided to add it as a new device to my iTunes account and purchased games and music and put these onto the iPod.  So now he has access to my password, etc.
What I really want to do is set up a new iTunes account for my nephew, but will I be able to transfer his games and music purchased under my account onto his new account or will we lose them all?

This Apple article will walk you through changing the Apple ID -> iOS: Changing the signed-in iTunes Store account
And this one will walk you through creating a new account -> iTunes: How to set up an iTunes Store account (Apple ID)
You won't be able to transfer the apps to the new account, you'll have to purchase them again with the new account.

  • Copying apps from one itunes account to another

I have been using my moms account to buy apps for the past couple of years(as has my whole family) but im moving out and need to get my own account, will i be able to transfer my apps from her account to mine? It is on the same laptop already.

No. All store purchases remain tied to the account they were bought with. You can however authorize your new computer for the existing account and then make new purchases on a new account. However with apps from two accounts you'll need to sign in & out of each account to authorize the updates. For the moment I'm treating my account as a family account even though two of my children have left home and we all make purchases on the one account, but they have to check with me first.

  • Transfering Gifts from one iTunes account to another

I recently received a gift card from Continental airlines for 5 free songs. Due to a mental error on my part - I uploaded the certificate to the wrong iTunes account. (I created a secondary account by mistake) Is there anyway to move those songs to my main account and delete the secondary one?
    Thanks

  • Transferring Movies from one iTunes account to another

    Hello,
To kind of get a feel of what I'm working up to here, here's the short version of what's going on.
A while back I purchased an Ipad 2 and had my normal icloud account. I had purchased MANY movies and shows on the ipad and that particular account. My issue being is now that I have my macbook pro, I have no way of actually getting those movies over from my ipad onto my macbook because the movies were purchased in another acount. (Now how, I'm not sure.)
Is there a way to transfer these from a normal itunes account to an icloud account? I dont have any of them downloaded on my ipad because it takes up a lot of storage and I only download as I watch them and then delete the loaded movies when I'm done.
    Any help would be great.

Not without buying them again. If applicable, authorize the computer with the old Apple ID and then follow these instructions instead; if they're not applicable, you'll need to buy the movie again anyway.

  • How can I transfer apps from one iTunes library to another?

How can I transfer apps from one iTunes library to another? My daughter has an iTouch, and I was managing it through my library. I have created an iTunes account for her, with a new iTouch, and would like to move the apps over. I tried to sync the old iTouch to the new library and it said it was already set up to sync with a different library. What is the best way to do this?

You can transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
To make the new computer the syncing computer you have to:
    - Transfer iTunes purchases lIke I described above
    - Make a backup of the iPod on that computer by connecting the iPod and then right-clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and selecting Back Up.
    - Restore the iPOd from that backup
She will have to continue to use your iTunes ID to update the apps prchased with your account. To use her account she will have to log into the computer with her account (iTunes>Store) and change the sign in on the iPod by going to Settings>Store.
