I just bought an iPhone 4S. I have had an iPod Touch 4G for a few months now and have a bunch of games (Angry Birds, Temple Run, Amazing Breaker, etc) with tons of saved data. I was able to sync my iPod to my iTunes to get all my apps on to my iPhone, but there is no saved game data on my iPhone now. Do I just have to replay the games all the way or is there a way to get that saved data on to my iPhone?

Yes, but you can import the photos from your iPhone's Camera Roll with your computer before doing so as with any other digitial camera. Follow this by transferring the photos from your computer to your iPhone via the iTunes sync/transfer process.
You can sync the contacts on your iPhone with a supported address book app on your computer where such important data should be available. Not a good idea to depend on an iPhone or any cell phone alone for your contacts which can be lost or stolen or damaged beyond repair.
Before syncing your iPhone contacts with a supported address book app on your computer that is not being used and includes no contact info, enter one contact in the address book app on your computer. This will provide a merge prompt with the first sync for this data, which you want to select.
After doing these steps, you can restore your iPhone from the backup for your iPod Touch followed by syncing contacts with the address book app on your computer and transferring the photos/videos imported from your iPhone's Camera Roll back to your iPhone via the iTunes sync/transfer process.

How NOT to sync game saves between devices?

Hi there,
I haven't been able to find out how NOT to automatically sync game saves between devices. I own both an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 5 and I do not want my progress in video games to be synchronized between the devices. There are no in-app settings in any of the games I own regarding this.

Game settings are part of the backup. You'll have to restore your iPad from the latest backup of the iPhone if you want the same game settings on it. But all other settings and data will be transferred as well from the phone, you can't just restore parts of the backup.

Transfering Game data Ipod Touch - Iphone

Is there any way to transfer game data from ipod touch 3g? (2009 release) to iPhone 4?
I dont want to complete angry birds and cut the rope again as i already have on my ipod which i now rarly use due to having an iphone, and new levels are now available.
Neigther are jailbroken nor do i want to do it.
Is it possible?

The only way I know that this MIGHT work would be to restore your Iphone from the backup of your Ipod. Your Ipod's backup contains all application data such as high scores etc...
This would also however wipe out your Iphone data and media. It would mirror your Ipod. You could use syncing to put iphone data on ipod before creating an Ipod backup.
Make sure you have all media copied into your itunes library computer first. The backup does not hold any media(tv shows, music etc...)

Is there ANY way to sync app/game data between iPhone and iPad2?

I just got a new iPad and sync'd all my apps onto it however I didn't realize it wouldnt sync the game data (levels etc). I don't want to start from scratch on my games if I want to play them on the iPad.
It's not looking good for a solution but I figured surely someone has found or created something (don't understand why Apple didn't!)
The main app I want the app data sync'd on is Cat Physics.

It depends on the game - some will sync scores over Game Center or over their own server (the crossword puzzle app I use gives us two options - their own server or Game Center). You'll have to contact the makers of Cat Physics to find out - Apple did create this functionality in GC, but it's up to the developer to chose to use it.

Transferring game data from one Touch to another

I have player data for an MLB game on my 8 GB Touch 2G.
I want to transfer that player data to the same game on my 32 GB Touch 3G.
How do I do that?

Make sure to back up your iPod manually before you replace it, and use the manual backup to restore the new one from. To back up manually, right click on it in the device list and choose "backup". This does not involve a sync process. Also make sure to transfer your purchases.

HT5225 Syncing data between devices vs. sharing data and drop box files.

As you most likely kwow, I've been told that only Lion will allow one to use the cloud to share music, contacts, photos, and etc. between one's phone, iPad, and computer. Let's say I have 4000 photos on my desktop; and I don't wish to see all them on my other devices. Can I choose only the ones I need by connecting the iphone to the pc or iPad by using iTunes- or should I drag and drop all contacts,etc. that I wish to put in icloud - or should I use my drop box for all or some files? For instance, none of my iPhone phone number contacts came with there existing email addresses. I should say that I have many contacts and songs on an older version - leopard that is not compatible with iCloud. What would do?

Having played around more with PadSync, I find that I can drag files into PadSync (which then sync to the iPad), but when a revised version is synced back to PadSync, I can double click the icon to open the file in the mac's native application, but I can't drag the file out to a destination folder or use any other means of getting it out of PadSync.
Am I missing something?
---- ah, I found the way. I was looking at the files in PadSync using icon view. When I switched to list view, I can then drag files out of PadSync. Funny, I can't drag files out using icon view.

I feel like if this sort of thing happens again in the future I will have a better understanding of exactly what '''services.sync.clusterURL''' is and why resetting it resolves syncing issues. FYI I deleted some empty folders that were created when this whole issue started and forced an immediate sync and the problem device was no longer a problem. I performed this action on my laptop i.e. the problem device and on my desktop PC so I could thoroughly test the two-way communication and after syncing on either device the changes were reflected on the other.

I just got a new macbook and was hoping to transfer my data from my football manager 2008 game on my old hard drive to my new mac, so that i can continue my old game on my new computer. Is this possible? Thanks

If you bring it to a store near you, I think they'll be willing to do it for you. If I'm not wrong, you can't do this from Migration Assistant.

Transferring Itunes data between computers using an external hard drive.

I just bought a new laptop and an external hard drive. What is the best way to go about transfering all of my 1400 songs on Itunes from my old computer to my new laptop using the external hard drive? I have purchased some songs from Itunes but mostly they were not bought there. Thanks in advance.

The guide for using the iPod as a hard drive is a good starting point. Just skip on past the part about enabling the iPod as a hard drive and read from "Is all the music together?". I have a iPad air and iPhone 5s. I play a game on my iPad then go to play the same game on my iPhone but all of my progress is lost. Is there any way you can transfer progress automatically?

Transfering iPhoto data between computers

I built a book on my work computer and decided i want to bring it home. I can do this in iWeb by taking the domain.sites file with me from computer to computer. what do I have to take with me to hop back and forth as I work on this photo book before publishing.
I'll also be combining my work Mac and Home mac which are both old into one laptop soon with Leopard and I'd like to continue working on some of these projects and not have to run 3 computers until the projects are done.

Yes, but it's not especially graceful.
In the Pictures Folder, make a duplicate of the iPhoto Library Folder (File -> Duplicate) Give it a distinctive name: The Book Library...
Then hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu, select 'Choose Library' and point iPhot at 'The Book Library'
The Book Library opens. Now remove any pics you don't want to share from that library: (put them in the iPhoto trash and go iPhoto Menu -> Empty trash).
Now you have 'The Book Library'. Copy it to your friend's Mac. He can open it with the same hold the option (or alt) key trick.
To revert to your full library, you can do the same: hold the option (or alt) key on launch.
