Transfering Global Settings from R/3

Hi All,
I am supposed to load data into Bw from R/3 client 120. But because of no data in it we are using client 150 for testing as it contains some data. The data in 150 is not reliable and we are using it only to check our loads. Now, I want to do some loads from 150 and so want to transafer the global settings like fiscal year variants etc. from 150. I am not sure if the fiscal year variants and all the other settings will be same later in client 120. Now, my doubt is if I transfer all the settings from client 150 now for our testing can we delete all of them and transfer all the settings again from client 120 when it is ready? Is it something possible? If so, will it effect the future loads from client 120 in anyway?
Your help will be highly appreciated in this.
Best Rgds,
James.

Hi Sergio,
Sorry, but I couldn't get what you exactly mean. How can we transfer the global settings from  120 with "rebuild tables" options? I have checked for that option by right click on the source system but couldn't find any.
Best Rgds,
James.

    2) If we maintain some of fields should we do something before, and how? e.g. we know BW user ALE = aleremote, so should we maintain aleremote user using SU01 both in R/3 and BW before we do Transferring Global Settings from Source Systems
    Thanks for the answer.

  • Transfering global settings

    Hi All,
We have created a process chain where in we have included the code for transferring global settings and for Exchange rate Transfer along with their variants.
In this Variants the we have given the system names as the DE0.
    (Development BI - DB0, Development R/3 - DE0.
    Quality BI -  QB0, Quality R/3 - QE0.)
The Process chain is working fine. We need to transport this to quality and then to production. My questions are:
    1. Would this transport be successful (as we are writing the system name as DE0)?
    2. We do not have an option of doing any changes in quality system. Would the quality system automatically convert the system name from DE0 to QE0?
    3. If not what is the right way to do this so that the process chain is successfully transported and transfers the global settings / Exchange rates from the target system's R/3.
    Thanks,
    Maddy

    Hi Maddy,
Check this post: Re: Process Chian for Transfer Global Settings and Transfer Exchange Rate
Check reply of Sri Arun Prian:
The problem arises due to non assigning of source system in the variant.
    Please follow the steps:
    1. While you create variant from RSA1 - Source system - Transfer your global settings, there is a tab named "Copy Screen Assignment" at the top of the variant screen.
    2. Click "Copy Screen Assignment" and save the variant, which automatically inputs the required source system name in the input.
    3. Provide the same variant in the process chain along with program name.
    4. Execute the process chain and will be success.
    Hope it Helps

  • Transfer of global settings from ECC to APO

I know there is the 'transfer of global settings' option from within transaction RSA1 in APO to transfer units of measure, fiscal year variants etc from ECC to APO, to ensure synchronisation.
How does this actually work? For example, suppose we have 14 units of measure in ECC, but already have 16 units in APO. If we run the synchronisation transaction, what will end up in APO? Is the complete table of units replaced in APO, so we would have just 14 units?
    Thanks, Bob Austin

there is some explanation to what you have mentioned in Re: Factory Calendar
this talks about calendars and is relevant till SCM 4.x
I would imagine the situation would be the same for UOM
In SCM 5 you have the option to update the tables, Rebuild the tables and also a simulation option

  • Can't change Flash Player global settings

    Hello,
I've had this problem about a year now and have been searching all over the internet for the solution. Ive seen it come up many times but it never fixes my problem, so I decided to just start a thread.
    I have:
    -Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    -Firefox 6.0 64-bit
    -Flash Player version 10,3,183,5
Anyways, im sure youve heard of this before where you cannot change the global settings to allow webcam, mic, data storage or click allow and so on - and I have tried many things to no avail. I assume it is some problem with Windows 7 restricting its access and i figured maybe an update could help but it has still been the same for a year. I have two computers both with the same exact problem and I have tried everything suggested for this problem: delete "flash player" folders out of appdata, reinstalling, etc. but nothing has worked. Its been like this for a year and I cant deal with it anymore, any flash video or game that requires flash to store local data typically shows up as a black box or doesn't let me save my game. Please help me, this is extremely irritating.

I didn't even know that there was a 64-bit version of Firefox 6 - where did you find it?
Anyway, Flash Player 10.x does not run on 64-bit browsers.  So, in that light, how do you attempt to change the Global Settings, from the Control Panel applet, or via http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/se ttings_manager.htm ?
Sorry - I dont really know what firefox came in besides the version and since my computer is 64-bit I asssumed the program was too.
Also sorry for the late reply, Ive been doing school things lately.
    Anyways,
Another question: if you delete the Flash Player folders from %appdata%, are they recreated after using Flash Player?
Now that I look at it, I believe so. I just checked my appdata and saw the flash player folders are there, but they are always empty. If there was a recent update it may of been that, but they are there again. Could that have something to do with it?

  • Transfer Global Settings - Multiple sources

    Gurus/Experts,
I have BW system connected to many other r3 systems and i have this problem coming up for unit of measures being different in all this systems ,so when i load data to cube it fails with error saying UOM not available for this record ,I replicate UOM using transfer global settings of BW and it solves issue
Questions here is what happens if i keep on tranferring global settings from different r3 systems will it overwrite or update it
    example -
    System R31 = 10 units in table T006
    system R32 =  10 units in table T006
    system R33 = 10 units in table  T006
will it show me 30 entries finally or it will only show me the entries from system R33  ONLY ,the last system i replicated in BW
    thanks

even if they are not and lets say 2 records are same should be ok rite because finally we need the units value doesnt matter which system gets it
    example
    system A has value ST
    system B has value ST
final table will have value ST since they are not unique ,but thats fine isnt it ,or i am wrong
    thanks

  • Import Global settings

I want to import Global settings from R/3 to BW. How to perform this activity???
Please search the forum before posting a thread
Edited by: Pravender on Aug 27, 2010 8:19 PM

    Hi,
You can use the below approach:
RSA1 --> Source system --> Tranfer Global Settings --> Select the required thing which needs to be replicated like Currencies/Units/ Fiscal year variants cts... And use the Update tables option below which will update the required fields..
    or
To automatically bring the update in r/3 to bw you can schedule that 2 program in background job to run periodically. basicaly RSIMPCUST is just same with the 'transfer global setting', it uses the same program. RSIMPCURR is for update currency exchange rate. This will take care of the things automatically.
With this all the necessary units, currencies and other values will update the tables in BW.
    Hope this helps..

  • Upgrading HDD on new MBP 15" and transfering all Data and settings from 2011 model to 2012 one

    Hi all,
I have just purchased a new 2012 MBP 15" (Non-retina) machine as well as a hybrid 750GB drive from Seagate and 16GB RAM upgrade from Crucial. Both machines are running the latest versions of Lion. What I would like to do is the following:
Upgrade the HDD & RAM in the new 2012 MBP - I think it is the same procedure as the 2011 model (which I have already done using Carbon Copy Cloner)
Transfer all the data, settings, programmes files, docs etc to the new 2012 MBP and new drive
Q1. Would I have to clone the current HDD in the 2012 MBP with the new hybrid one first and then install into the machine before transferring the data from the 2011 machine?
Q2. Or - Could I just clone the current HDD in the 2011 model using CCC to the new Hybrid HDD and then instal it into the new 2012 MBP?
Whats the best and safest way to achieve this please? Any advice very welcome!
    Many Thanks

So, everything went fairly well. It started out looking like it was going to take 2.5 hours, but it ended up taking about 5-6 (I think - I went to sleep).
A couple of observations - at first I didn't see where it restored everything, but I later saw that when I logged out that it had created my user account as a separate login.
Some things didn't transfer - most everything did, but there were a few things with my Parallels VM that did not. I have to get to the bottom of that. It did make me re-register once I launched it.
    On the hardware specifically:
    1. I am not yet noticing the performance bump that I thought I would going to the i5 processor - seemed snappy when I first had it on with OS only - but so far not noticeably faster than my Core 2 Duo 2.4.
    2. battery - way too early to tell, but I am hoping the battery needs time to condition itself and figure out who it is (battery life was my #1 reason for buying this) - right now I am on battery power and have 79% remaining or 2hrs. 2 hours??!! This is supposed to be a 8-9 hour battery. Hoping time works this out. Brightness if only up about 20%, on wifi, keybaord backlighting fairly dim. Nothing coming over from my old machine would have affected this, would it have? (I do know that when the machine was empty with just the OS on it, it was reading about 8 hrs remaining). So much for living on the edge and going to the office without my power adapter today.
    3. Heat - my 13" was not hot on the bottom - this one is - on the back left part of the unit. Reminding me of my Powerbook G4. Not very lap comfortable. ??
    Any thoughts?

  • Transferring settings from old Mac o new iMac

Hi! I just placed an order for a new iMac on the Apple store. Currently I sync my iPhone, iPad and iPods with my PowerBook G4. Once the new Mac arrives I plan to sync my iOS devices with it, I understand that there is a migration or setup assistant that will transfer all my settings from the old Mac to the new one.
Are there any tips or special precautions I must take? Should I use a USB cable, Firewire or use wi-fi?
    Thanks,
    Cesar

You can use an ethernet cable, a FireWire cable if your laptop has a FireWire port or a wireless network. In your case the ethernet is probably the easiest because even if your laptop has FW it is likely to be FW400 and the new iMac has FW800, so you would need an adapter or adapting cable.
You may wish to read up on the precautions for going from PowerPC to Intel Macs.

    Hi Sonia,
While transferring Adobe from laptop to PC the licensing files got corrupt and the right way to use Adobe Applications is to install first as transferring from a different machine can give you problems.
You can try steps from this article if that helps otherwise you have to reinstall and manually delete some files , everything is mentioned.

  • How to transfer printer settings from one Mac to another (both OSX)?

Hello, I have not found a detailed description on how to transfer printer settings from one Mac to another.
My issue is that I have a Mac G5 with 3 different settings saved as "presets" for the same printer. This works great, since the posters I print (on the large format printer) need different margins and different paper at times.
This G5 is basically retired and only used for printing. G5 has OSX 10.3.9
I have a MacPro as its replacement (OSX 10.4.11).
The MacPro has all my apps and other settings setup to my liking.
I found several links via Google saying copy this folder or directory, but I am not sure I did it correctly. I don't see the "presets".
I tried launching the Migration Assistant (I hope that's the correct name), but was concerned the settings on the new MacPro would be overwritten with ALL the old stuff on the older G5. I did not start the transfer process because of this.
If someone would list the steps needed to accomplish the transfer of printer settings or advise if this is possible, then I would be very grateful! The previous user of the G5 I am using was a "Genius" and I don't know how he created these "preset" choices.
    Thanks!

Hi SCChelpdesk, and a warm welcome to the forums!
I found several links via Google saying copy this folder or directory, but I am not sure I did it correctly. I don't see the "presets".
This is the File that holds that info on Tiger, not certain on Panther...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.print.custompresets.plist
After moving, you very well might have to change the Owner's Permissions within Get Info window, then log out/in.
I tried launching the Migration Assistant (I hope that's the correct name), but was concerned the settings on the new MacPro would be overwritten with ALL the old stuff on the older G5. I did not start the transfer process because of this.
MA would transfer the info, but/and, if the user that had that info had the same Shortname as on the new one, it'll demand you give it a new Shortname to use... but then those settings would be transferred to that new user on the new machine. I think the 1st one will work though.
The previous user of the G5 I am using was a "Genius" and I don't know how he created these "preset" choices.
We can go through that way if you like... not all that hard.

  • Can you transfer apps data/preference settings from one iPod to another?

I just bought a new 32G iPod touch (previously using a 16G touch). I know how to transfer all of my music, movies, etc. from the iTunes library.
But here is my question: is there a way to transfer the "preferences/settings" files for my apps--workout routines, high score settings, mail settings, stock data--from the iPod itself?
The actual apps transferred over fine from iTunes, but is there a way to get all of my info from my old iPod to the new one?

I am trying to do this, but it doesn't seem to work for me. When I restore my new iPod from my old iPod backup, I only get settings and some pictures, but no apps or music.
In order for this to work would have I had to have the "Sync" settings on for apps and music? I can't turn this on now. The music is not a big deal, but I have a few essential apps on here that I really need the data from.
    Any ideas?
