  • I can't move my iPhone playlists to iTunes on PC

Hi gys, I am running an iPhone 4S on iOS 7.0.4 and just created two playlists right from within my iPhone. I then added songs to each of the two playlists -- again from right within my iPhone.
Now when I connect the iPhone to iTunes on my PC, iTunes sees the iPhone but when I click on the iPhone icon, the newly-created playlists are NOT listed. How on earth do I move the playlists from the iPhone to iTunes?
I sync iTunes on my PC with my iPhone on a regular basis and this is the first time I see this weird situation!

UPDATE: I have since clicked on the "Manually manage music and videos" otptions from the General tab in iTunes. When I now add a custom playlist from within the iPhone, the playlist appears in iTunes under the iPhone. When I sync, the playlist is transferred to the iTunes library.
I then unticked the "Manually manage music and videos". Newly added iPhone playlists (which were added from within the iPhone) continue to show under the iPhone when the device is connected to iTunes. They also continue to be added to the iTunes library upon sync.
I still don't understand why initially the iPhone-generated playlists did not appear in iTunes (under the iPhone device) and why when I initially synced these playlists were emptied out (note that all tracks were already loaded in my library prior to the first sync).
    Any ideas?!

  • Can i transfer iphone playlist to itunes

can i transfer iphone playlist to itunes

Hey everyone!!! I believe I'm on the right thread and I HOPE SO or an iPhone is about to become a trash weight.
I am trying to figure out a way whereby when I add songs to a playlist via my iPhone and/or re-arrange the Playlist order, I am able to sync my iPhone to iTunes and have iTunes reflect the changes and/or additions I have made to the Playlist.  All of the music isn't necessarily purchased through the iTunes Store, however, they are all .mp3.
I saw the successful feedback about exporting the playlist and then importing back, HOWEVER...
when I click on the right triangle to show my iPhone playlists; it mirrors iTunes.  For example, my playlist has 245 songs and iTunes is showing 237 (both on the playlist below the right triangle and in the Playlist section itself in iTunes.  So if and when I sync, I lose those 8 songs and have to go back and manually add to the playlist on the phone again and re-order etc.
What am I missing and is there a way to make changes on the iPhone and not lose everything during a sync.
I can't thank you enough for any help anyone has to offer!!!!!!!

  • Can't see iPhone playlist on iTunes

I manually drag and drop songs onto my iPhone; however when I click on the iPhone icon in iTunes it just shows my entire song library and will not let me see the playlist on my phone. I know the songs are on my phone.
When I went to sync up the iPhone with my computer I did get the "unable to load data class information from Sync Services" error message.
Any thoughts on how to correct this issue?

    One thing that might help.
    Try updating to itunes 8.0.1.

  • Transfering iPhone movies to iTunes on my PC

I bought a movie through iTunes via my iPhone. Now, I want to put the movie onto my computer and into iTunes. When I have my iPhone connected to my PC and hit the "Sync Movies" check box in the movies tab, a box appears and says, "Are you sure you want to sync movies? All existing songs, movies and TV shows on the iPhone will be removed and replaced with movies from your iTunes library."
I don't want the movies on my iPhone to be replaced. I want them to be transferred to my iTunes Library on my PC. If I allow the snyc, will the movies I purchased on my iPhone be deleted before I can get them onto my pc?

Just called in Apple Care for the same issue. All you need to do is go to the itunes  file scroll down to the bottom where you will see the cammand Transfer  purchases from " insert your name"iphone. It will automaticly download your purcases to itunes and place it under Purchases,it will also place the movies and shows in the apropriate folders in itunes. In addition there will also be an additional folder under Store in itunes that will list the purchases under the device it was puchased under for example  Purchased on Pinkiesipone

  • Transferring iphone data to itunes on new pc when old pc is dead

    HELP!!
Old laptop died and all my info, music, pics etc is saved on my iphone 3GS.
I have icloud, but that only stores purchased content, not anything manually put on from cd's, audio files.
How do I update the itunes on the new laptop with all the content from my iphone?
Without losing my pictures, music that I took ages loading from cd's etc..
I don't want to pay loads for a program that might work.
Apple must have a way of doing this in this modern time of age?
All I want to do is update itunes with my iphone content, not share it with outside programs.
    PLEASE HELP

    can anyone help at all?
    Thank you

    Hello henryscott3,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post it appears that you either have iTunes Match on your iPhone, or are seeing items that are available in iTunes in the Cloud and not on your device.  To learn more about both of these features, please see the articles below.

  • HT204406 A few of my playlists in itunes are not transferring to my iphone 4 when I sinc it to itunes.  I'm also using icloud, help?

Some of my playlists in itunes are not transferrring to my iPhone either by sincing and by icloud.  I turned itunes match on and off several times and still doesn't put missing playlists on my phone.  I didn't have this issue prior to saving to icloud and using itunes match.  Anyone else having this issue?
    Thanks.

    Hi oxman78,
That definitely sounds frustrating! Let's give this a go to see if we can isolate the issue futher:
First, connect your device and choose the "Music" tab. Next, uncheck the "Sync Music" checkbox, and apply the changes (so there is ultimately no music syncing to your iPhone).
Once you have done that, recheck the "Sync Music" checkbox, and apply the changes once more. This will instruct iTunes to completely remove all music from your iPhone, and then copy the files once more. If you have a large amount of music, this initial sync may take a while.

  • Transferring from itunes music library to iphone playlist?

Hi. I have had to restore my PC from factory settings and am trying to complete my iphone playlist. I have the latest OS for both itunes and iphone.
I have some songs in my itunes music library which I can transfer easily to/from my ipod and playlists. When I connect my iphone to the PC, I cannot do this and cannot seem to add any songs to my iphone apart from the 'purchased' ones.
Can this be done at all?
    Thanks.

    Here's how I synced iPo=hone 6 (updated to OSX 8.3) with iTunes (Version 1.1.2.27)
    1.     Turned on iTunes match on the computer (iMac) where my music library was located.
    2.     Turned on iTunes match on iPhone 6 (Settings>Music>iTunes Match).
    3.     Hard boot iPhone.
    4.     Restarted iPhone.
    5.     Disconnected iPhone to computer.
    6.     Closed iTunes on computer.
    7.     Restarted computer.
    8.     Connected iPhone to computer then restarted iPhone.
    9.     Restarted iTunes.
    10.   Clicked on iPhone icon in iTunes.
    11.   In iPhone SUMMARY menu, selected BACKUP option button THIS COMPUTER.
    12.   Selected BACK UP NOW.
    13.   Following backup, in OPTIONS section, checked box SYNC ONLY CHECKED SONGS AND VIDEOS.
    14.   Clicked APPLY.
    15.   Clicked SYNC.
The key is making sure you turn on ITUNES MATCH, then matching up your music library.
    Good luck.

  • HT1386 Where do you drag and drop playlists onto iphone in new itunes

Where do you drag and drop playlists onto iphone in new itunes

I don't blame this person whatsoever for making the assumption that the iPod portion of his phone would work similarily, if not the same, as the iPod.
But it does work the same as the iPod. As with an iPod, you can sync all songs and playlists, or selected playlists, or you can manually manage music and videos. You can also select sync only checked songs and videos under the Summary tab and uncheck the songs in your iTunes library that you don't want transferred to your iPhone. This can be used with syncing selected playlists - if you want to remove a song from your iPhone that is in a selected playlist without removing the song from the playlist in iTunes, you uncheck the song in the playlist in iTunes followed by a sync. There is no difference with an iPod in this regard except for the iPhone not supporting disk mode.
In order to manually manage music and videos with an iPod, you must select this under the Summary tab for the iPod sync preferences, and the same for the iPhone.
And if you resent his rant, why respond and waste your volunteer time on this post?
I can waste my time anyway I see fit. If you don't like it, don't respond.
And not everyone can afford to replace this type of investment on a whim.
    Copied from the OP's post.
Don't tell me it's clicking on the boxes next to the songs in the Library page, *because that's when I will start asking for my money back...*
Or the iPhone can be sold to someone else with the proceeds used to purchase a different phone. I haven't read any reports about someone having trouble selling their iPhone used at a good price even if damaged.

  • Tracks and playlists on iTunes not syncing with iPhone 5

I'm using windows 7 with the latest updates, the latest update of iTunes and an up to date iPhone 5.
All I want to do is sync the playlists and tracks on iTunes to my iPhone. I'm using the 'sync music' tick box and then selecting the playlists and artists which I want to sync. This method was taking absolutely ages with 'determining tracks to sync' coming up for 15 or so minutes. After this, nothing changed on the phone or pc. Apart from some of the playlists on iTunes emptying of tracks and some playlists being deleted from the phone. Neither of which I wanted!
So I thought I'd try to add music manually. I started by adding playlists to the phone which was taking ages but at least the job was getting done. Suddenly, certain tracks wouldn't transfer And a message would pop up on the phone telling me so and to check iTunes. I'm up to 37 tracks not transferring so far.
So I am at a bit of a loss. I'm using all the latest up to date software and a genuine lightening cable.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks.

  • Transferring iPhone 4 and to iTunes on new computer

I have new laptop. My iTunes was originally setup on my desktop where I connected my iPhone.
When I connect my iPhone4 to that new iTunes on my laptop will the data from that iPhone transfer to iTunes on my new computer?

Music purchased on the iPhone can be transferred to the computer, but ripped music that was copied to the phone cannot be. Also, playlists created on the computer will not be copied back.
