Transfering Music from iTunes on 2nd computer

I have used my computer at home to download music and transfer music over to my iPhone.
I am now at work and have iTunes on my computer ... is there anyway to add music to my iPhone from work without loosing all the music I already have on there?
Just simple steps please!

No - the iPhone does not support disk mode as with an iPod, which is required for this.
Why do you want to have iTunes purchased content on different computers - especially on a computer at work that you do not own? How do you plan on managing your backup for iTunes purchased content on multiple computers?
You can purchase/download music with your iPhone, the same for 3rd party apps, and now video.
IMO, it is best to keep all iTunes purchased content in one location on a single computer for a number of reasons with maintaining a backup being an important one, and just keeping up iTunes purchased content.

Is there a way to get music from itunes to my computer to put on a galaxy note device

    No.  Sorry.
Iphone will sync/manage music with one and only one computer at a time.  If you sync/manage music with another computer, then it will first erase the current music.
    Put everything on one computer.

Trouble transfering music from itunes to my iopd. have updated ipod but still having trouble.

OK so first thing is, is the iPod set for manual or auto updating? If you are using iTunes 7, click on the iPod icon in iTunes and check the settings. For earlier versions go to iTunes preferences and pick the iPod. Typically you have three choices, Auto Updating, Auto Updating of selected playlists only, and finally Manual updating.
And to clear up your confusion, yes, you can always import your own CDs and put that music on your iPod without restriction.

  • Transfering music from ipod to the computer

i just got a new computer, and before i got my new computer my old one got messed up and i lost all my files. So is there a way that i can take the contents of my ipod and just transfer them to my new computer so that i may continue to add new stuff to it?

For iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
Find out how to do that here.
How to copy iTunes purchases from an iPod to a computer.
For all other non purchased content (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
    See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it is a little more involved than other methods.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
    SharePod is also freeware.
If you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.
iPodRip also has the feature enabling you to reconstruct playlists.
There is also CopyTrans. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.

  • Transferring music from old to new computer ?

    hey!
so i tried following the tutorial for transferring music from my old computer to my new computer (both of them PC's) and i got as far as the "copy itunes folder into ipod then connect to new computer"
now the next step is to take that itunes folder outta my ipod folder and place it into "my music" and then delete the itunes folder from my ipod so i free up my memory again.
the only problem is i don't know where this "ipod folder" is located so i can't extract the itunes folder and now i have all this memory used up.
has anyone done this before because the PC version of the tutorial doesn't seem to be working. my question is what should this ipod folder look like and where can i find it?
    THANKS!

Hi cynthia I know what your going through the same exact thing happened to me (I feel your pain and stress). You can use Windows Explorer to delete the folder it should be obsvisoly labeled I belive as "Itunes" and if you acidentally delete your music its already on your new computer anyway so all you would have to plug it in and it would sync...

  • HT4527 How do I play my transferred music from itunes?

I have transferred my itunes music from my old computer to my new computer successfully, but now it won't play directly from itunes.  My computer says that it cannot locate the file.  When I go into the itunes folder and pull up a music file, itunes opens automatically and plays the song.  It seems like my music is in the wrong location.  Any suggestions for moving it to a place where itunes can find it?

  • How I transfer the music from iTunes to the computer?

    Hi
I was wondering, how I transfer the music from iTunes to the desktop computer?
I would like that as back up on another device.

I am assuming you have a PC - not a Mac.
In iTunes on your PC go to Edit>Preferences>Advanced
This will tell you the location of your iTunes Media Folder on your PC.
Now go to that location using Windows Explorer and click on the Music folder within it.   All your music should be found there

  • Transfering music from iTunes to my motorokr

I have just gotten a motorokr phone and am trying to transfer music from iTunes to it. First I used a card reader and the card that came with the phone. It worked once and then the reader quit coming up on my desktop. It was not reading the card anymore. Then, after talking to Motorola help, I used the usb cable and my phone to upload the music . The same thing happened. After successfully using it once, it doesn't show up on my desktop. Any info or help for this problem?

    hi ssr!
let's try an experiment. try switching off your antivirus and antispyware prior to trying a synch. does the wee darling behave herself a bit better when you try that?
    keep us posted.

  • Transferring Music from iTunes problem

This may be an obvious one but is there a way I can drag and drop music from iTunes to my iPhone like I can with my iPods? Having to check boxes and synch all the time doesn't feel like the best way to do it all the time.
    Thx.

    Ansuz82,
One thing that is convenient about the playlist method is you can add a song to the playlist even if you don't have the iPhone connected. The next time the iPhone is connected, the song will be copied to the iPhone.
As my profile mentions I have 3 children. My two oldest like the iPhone, and when I am home, I don't get to use it all that often. However, if I want to have a song on it for the commute to work, I just put it on the playlist and when I plug it in in the evening to sync and charge the iPhone will be added to it.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • HT1373 transferring music from itunes to new ipod

hi, trying to transfer my purchased music from itunes to my ipod.  just downloaded itunes 11 and using a new ipod. in the past with itunes 9, my devise appreared in the informaiton bar and i was able to drag music into it.  with this new version, i dont see my devise, and not sure how to get my music on there.
    thanks,

First things first do you have the menu bar on? Second, have you tried plugging the usb into a different port? ALSO once device is seen in itunes, go to the summary tab & click manage music manually. You should still be able to click & drag.
