I have 2 phones saved on iCloud storage, one is old phone and other is my new one. How do I restore my old phone data from iCloud storage to my new one?
It shows like 4.3GB is stored on my old and 105.9MB on my new. I want to restore the 4.3 to my new, how do I do that please?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
You will need to restore your phone and when prompted use the backup that you made yesterday.
Before you do so, you may wish to change your wife's iCloud login details, otherwise you may find that you then overwrite her data. She should have her own iCloud account to avoid this.

I recently transferred my ITunes library to an external hard drive.  I made sure to copy all the data from the saved location.  After the transfer I noticed that a lot of albums are missing the first song and some recently purchased albums are missing.  Is there any way to recover the data?  Thanks for any help.

I may have found an answer here:
    http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/moving-your-itunes-library-to -a-new-hard-drive
They only thing I can assume is that my external hard drive was slow to start and iTunes defaulted to its old directory (see the last paragraph at the link above). However, once my external was recognized shouldn't everything have fixed itself?

    Greetings,
I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.

  • After transferring my iTunes data from the old to the new windowsPC according to the apple-instructions, the songs don't start playing when I click them as usual, although loudspeaker symbol appears on the left side

After transferring my iTunes data from my old to the new windowsPC following exactly the original apple instructions everything LOOKS allright when I start iTunes on my new PC. But when I click the song as usual, it doesn't start playing, although the little loudspeaker symbol on the left side appears. What went wrong, what can I do?

I guess nobody knows if the crash that occured was legitimate or not?  Apple phone support could do nothing for me, so I guess I am left to drive 45 minutes to the nearest store.

Most intelligent people would not store such sensitive data on a device that could so easily be lost, stolen, or damaged.  Even if they chose to do so, they would use the device as designed and regularly sync and backup that device as described in the User's Guide.
Have you done so?  If you have, all of the data is either in iCloud or iTunes on your computer.  Replace the device and restore the new iDevice with the backup of the old one.

  • Keine Daten vom Gerät / No Data from Device in iMovie (2013)

    Hello guys!
I use a Sony DCR-TRV 110E Camcorder to backup old video tapes. I connect the camera over firewire to my Macbok Pro 15" late 2011.
iMovie shows the camera in the import windows - i also can navigate through the material directly from iMovie and watch my tapes, but when i click on "import", the video starts and i see the message "No Data from Device". Wenn I stopp "recording", there are no data in my mediathek.
Does anyone knows whats going on there?
    Thank you for help!
    Besten Dank!

I just downloaded iMovie 10.0.1 onto a Macbook Pro running OSX.  I have the exact same problem with the "no data from device" message.
I recently purchased a Sony TRV720 Handycam because of the pass through capability for transferring my old analog Hi8 tapes to Digital.  I connect the camera through a FireWire connection and it is recognized by iMovie.  When I hit the import button, I can see the video playing in the window, but the message "no data from device appears".  The video quality in the iMovie viewing window is not as clean as on the camcorder itself.
I tried connecting, reconnecting, different tapes, different setting, all with no luck.  In order to test the cable connection, I plugged the same cable into my Sony DCR101, which plays miniDV tapes.  This worked perfectly, loading the video files onto iMovie on the first try.
I have no idea what to try next.  If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.

  • No data from device?

i'm working on a huge project in which i have to use many different videos, vhs, video8, dv and more. i use several devices to digitalize the analog stuff, f.e. a canopus advc 300 and a sony dcr-trv460e.
i've done this quite often, but now i have a problem i've never had before.
when i try to import footage from the sony dcr-trv 460e - connected via firewire -  fcpx says "no data from device". i can watch the video in the preview, i can control the handycam (start, stop, pause), but fcpx won't import the footage, not a second, when i click on "import".
i'm able to import the footage in quicktime, even in imovie, but not in fcpx.
what's weird is, that i tried to import videos i already imported with fcpx some time ago, it worked then, but not now, very strange.
has apple made some changes in fcpx that make it impossible to import the old stuff? any idea how i could solve my problem?
2nd best would be to import the footage with imovie and then import the files in fcpx.
3rd best to import with quicktime…

canopus works fine, as well as all other devices.
i have tons of tapes and tried a few, none worked.
i tried to capture on both my new imac and my mbpro, no way.
but now i'm sure there is something wrong with the sony handycam, i tried to import with my old final cut studio, and it's not possible, also. fc pro says: waiting for timecode.
so i'm confused now. does the sony dcr-trv not send a timecode? maybe, and this will explain the troubles. but on the other hand i imported successfully some footage with exact this device.
maybe i used the canopus then to correct the timebase, i can't remember how i did it. but this would mean i have to accept loss of quality, since i have to connect the sony with s-vhs with the canopus and convert it.
right now i'm importing a tape with imovie and will have a look how the result is, but as far as i remember, the audio has to be re-rendered when importing in fcpx…
My finger is pointing to a Timecode issue.
Is timecode enabled in the camera?
Is it continuous on the tape?

  • I can capture with iMovie 6, but not with FCP 6.0 ('no data from device')

I didn't have any problem with FCP 5, but am getting nowhere with FCP 6 using the same settings (I think). FCP seems to see the camcorder, but can't control it and, even if I manually start the camera, reports 'no data from device' when I do a 'Capture Now'. Device control isn't critical, but I'd sure like to find out why it doesn't see the data stream from the camera (Sony HDR-HC7 / FW400). I must be missing a setting some place, but sure can't find it. On the other hand, I have full device control and zero dropout capture with iMovie (exact same hardware configuration). Any ideas?

  • "no data from device" when trying to capture HDV

I need to capture additional footage for an HDV project I am already editing. Capturing the initial footage (about a month ago) went smoothly. Now however, when trying to capture footage from a new tape shot just last week, I simply cannot. If I try to Capture Now, I get a "No Data from Device" message and the capture attempt aborts. If I log some clips and Batch Capture, the material cues and begins to play but the capture window just continues to say CUEING SOURCE MATERIAL and captures nothing. I am using the Sony HVR-M10U deck as a capture device.
The only thing that has changed between the original capture and this latest attempt is that I have also been working on a DV project at the same time, and I used the M10U to capture some DV footage for that project. In order to succesfully capture DV footage I had to force the deck to play only DV (by changing the VCR settings in the menu).
To try and capture this latest HDV footage, I went back into the menu and forced the deck to play HDV only. In searching for answers I came across this Apple article (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302407) and followed those exact steps.
However, nothing seems to work. I do have device control and the timecode is being read off the deck in Log & Capture (so the firewire connection is fine), but there's no video in the preview window and no capturing is possible. I am able to open my DV project, reset the menu on the deck, and capture DV footage - but I can't for the life of me switch to capturing HDV footage.
Any bright ideas would be much appreciated - I'm really at wits end.
    thanks,
    Tom

I am having a similar problem with my sony HVRZ1U, I can capture dv through firewire no problem but when I choose easy setup for HDV it does not recognize the device.
Funny thing is I tried to download clips on a pc in Premiere with all the similar settings on my camera and it works fine, I have deck control and can capture HDV footage, so that rules out a problem with the camera. Back to FCP5 with the same settings and nothing.
Went through uninstalling quicktime 7.03 back to 7.01 - nothing
Deleted the preferences in FCP5 - nothing
Checked the firewire connections and cables - they work fine
Using all the right settings on the camera and in FCP5
The tape format was shot correctly
Any light on what could be going wrong would be very very much appreciated

  • I'm getting a "No Data From Device" error for older video import

I'm trying to create digital video archives of some older (Hi-8) tapes before they turn to dust.  I've got a Sony deck with iLink and have been using iMovie, which is time consuming but error free.  I want to use the "Create Camera Archives" feature in FCP X, but am not able to import any video. FCP recognizes the deck, lets me control it and displays video in the capture window.  But it does not capture anything - camera archives are empty and when I try to import the video I get a "No Data from Device" message over the import window, as the video is playing in the background.  I thought it might be an issue of import settings... but I can't find any to change.
    Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Make sure all your settings are correct for capture and playback. Also make sure that the settings on the deck are the same as well. I know I had an issue when my Sony FX1 HDV camera was set to DV, FCP gave a similar error message.

  • Transferring Outlook Express Data from G-3 to G-4, Help Needed, please

Hi, I would like some help: I think I transferred my HD from G-3 to G-4, but none of the data of my Outlook Express 5.02 on the G-3 made the firewire jump. How do I:
    a. find out if the data (inbox, sent msgs, folders, etc.) are on the G-4
    b. if they are not there, how do I get them to transfer. All the other folders on my hard drive, data, documents, etc., went across well (it took an hour to transfer the HD, which was about 7 Gb)
Any help is appreciated, you may e-mail me personally at [email protected]

  • "No Data from Device" error message

    Hi folks!
I'm importing HD footage from my Sony M10U. I've used the "HDV 1080i60 Easy Setup" for my audio/video settings. I can control the device and even log clips, but I cannot batch capture the clips or "capture now". When I do a batch capture, it plays right through like there's no in or out points. When I do a "capture now" an error message comes up saying "No Data from Device, capture was aborted due to lack of incoming data from device. Check your connections and that the deck is playing."
I know the deck is playing and that the connections are fine because I can import DV footage. But when I switch to HD, I don't even get a preview in the log and capture window.
I've read other posts similar to this, but never got a concrete answer. Somebody please help me! I'm working against a deadline! (Like everyone else, right?)
Thanks in advance you MAC gurus!
    Katie

Make sure all your settings are correct for capture and playback. Also make sure that the settings on the deck are the same as well. I know I had an issue when my Sony FX1 HDV camera was set to DV, FCP gave a similar error message.
