Transfering Playlists from iPhone back to iTunes

Is there a way to transfer my Playlists from my iPhone back to my iTunes account? I had to re-download iTunes and have recovered everything except for my 40+ Playlists. Thanks!

No, the music sync is one way: Computer to phone.

Normally you would restore the backup of the computer, but you say you don't have a backup of the computer. That is a shame. See this user hint to try and rebuild your library. https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141

  • Transferring music from iPhone to computer/iTunes

    hi there,
my computer recently caught a virus and had to be rebooted meaning everything was removed from it. I had to reinstall iTunes but all my music was gone. I still have my music on my iphone but I don't want to download anymore incase it deletes what I have remaining on my phone. Is there anything I can do to put all of my music back onto itunes without having to download it all again?
    thankyou

The user tip should help you extract everything that is on the iPhone and listed in the Music app, whether it came from the iTunes Store or not.
It is usually possible to remove viruses from computers without going nuclear on the hard drive. Unless the user data has been encrypted the hard drive can be attached to another uninfected computer and all user data copied off to safe storage. Keeping a backup of your data makes even that effort unnecessary.

  • Copy edited playlists FROM iPod BACK TO iTunes?

The iPod Touch allows the ability to edit playlists right on the device. But at the moment, this feature is useless to me, because by default the sync treats the iTune playlist as the master copy. Why I sync, my edits are lost and all of the deleted songs are restored.
Having edited a playlist on the iPod Touch, how do I copy that edited playlist back to iTunes?
Here's why I want to do this. With 130 GB of music and an 8 GB iPod Touch obviously I sync "only selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres." As a classical music listener my "songs" tend to be large. I maintain a "Current" playlist into which I add the miscellaneous things I want to listen to. When I've listened to, say, an hour-long sympohny on my iPod Touch, I want to delete it immediately to make from the "Current" playlist and make room for new content.
I don't want to carry a little notebook with me to note down what I've listened to so I can delete that days later in iTunes. Within the "Current" playlist, I basically want to "delete after listening."

Then you can copy them back through iTunes: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1848

  • Synching playlist from iphone back to computer

I lost my hard drive a couple of weeks ago, my library (thankfully) was on a networked external drive, so the tunes are still there. However since iTunes was on the partition that crashed, I had to do a full reinstall. My playlist no longer shows up - so my questions are:
    1) Is there a "backup" of my playlist in iTunes - if so, how do I access it?
    2) Will iTunes let me "reinstall" my playlist from my iPhone?
    3) Should I just re-create the playlist by cross-referencing it from my phone?
Thanks for reading & thanks for replying.

    1) Is there a "backup" of my playlist in iTunes - if so, how do I access it?
    I don't believe so.
    2) Will iTunes let me "reinstall" my playlist from my iPhone?
    No to this one.
    3) Should I just re-create the playlist by cross-referencing it from my phone?
Sounds like a good and what I believe is your only option.

  • Sync Data from iPhone back to iTune

Because of my computer being formatted, all data has been lost. What I want to do is sync back all my data in iPhone to new iTune without changing any data in my iPhone. What should I do?

First things first, always do a backup. You can not copy from any iDevice back to your PC, you can thank apple for this and DRM. Google copy from ipod to computer. There is 3rd party software that will do this, some free and some paid.

  • My hard drive crashed on my PC - how do I restore from iPhone back into iTunes?

My hard drive crashed on my PC - how do I get the 24 GB of music off my iPhone and back into iTunes?

    You should be able to:
Backup the device to the new installation
Transfer your purchases into a newly authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!

  • Transferring photos from Ipod back to Itunes

My problem is my old pc totally crashed and I lost everything. Ive since got a new one and once Itunes was loaded back on and my Ipod was connected my music has been transferred without a problem. However I'm hoping someone can advise me how to transfer the photos from my Ipod back onto the pc...If this is possible.
Many thanks for any help in advance.

There are a few programs out there for recovering photos from an iPod, have a look at the ones below. If you search the internet you can find more. Just be aware that what you'll be recovering will be photos optimised for the iPod so they won't be the same quality as the original full resolution versions:
    iPodPhotoCopy Windows only
    CopyPodPhoto Windows only
Tansee iPod Transfer Photo Windows only
iPod Photo Liberator Mac & Windows
TouchCopy Mac and Windows Versions (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
If you have full resolution copies of the photos on the iPod have a look here: Apple Knowledge Base article - Use Disk Mode to copy photos from iPod

  • Transfering songs from iphone into empty itunes library

I have a desktop which has my itunes library and then I have a laptop with an empty itunes library. The songs from my desktop itunes is on my iphone. Can i get the songs from my iphone into the empty library on my laptop?

Hi! Welcome to Apple Discussions Forum.
If you have purchased songs from the iTunes Music Store, then those are pretty easy to transfer to your computer. You'll just need to follow [this instructions|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305465].
All your other songs (for example, those ripped from your CD's), you'll need to use any 3rd party program to transfer them to your iTunes library!
Some can also transfer your playlists, videos, ratings, podcast...

  • Transfering data from iPhone BACK to Mac

Hi. My Mac's hard drive recently crashed and everything is wiped out. I have a new hard disk now.
My question is: How do I transfer data FROM my iPhone... BACK to my Mac? I would like to transfer data from my iCal, iTunes, iPhotos and contacts.
Would appreciate some advice. It's been a very frustrating experience. I don't want to screw up and end up deleting all my data from my iPhone instead.

While I have read and checked, and looked into this topic, there
isn't a whole bunch of stuff that is easily found via online search
even if the search terms or words are changed around quite a bit.
For just moving iTunes music, that is easier than data; and I can
see the need to re-integrate data and your stuff back to a Mac
especially if you need to restore the computer, should it fail. The
items on an iPhone or iPod Touch, etc, would be essential to a
multi-tasking user who has a home base and needs to save and
use this stuff between several devices you have and own.
Most of the sync information on how to move stuff, tends to delete
the peripheral content from the iPod, iPhone, etc and sets them
back to some pre-used state or default initialization. There must
be some other way, that actually lets the user take control over
items so you can archive and restore, or reuse them in your Mac.
So, with the odds not looking good, on retaining content should
one go through with the often suggested sync or other wiping
results of attaching a Mac to a portable iPod, etc, be careful to
not do that unless you have that content somewhere else first!
Is there a way you could use a gmail account to save and move
items, perhaps if you can upload content there, it can be saved
into a computer via email (wireless, etc) and save it that way?
For the iTunes music, you could check into and see if this thing
called (iTunes, backward) may work. I have not read a lot about
it, though it has been around awhile. Not sure what else it can do.

  • Transferring music from iPhone back to hard drive

The external hard drive with all my music on it malfunctioned, so I had to delete everything. All the albums are still on my iPhone. I'm trying to work out how to transfer all the albums back from the iPhone to the hard drive. Does anyone know how to do it? It's driving me mad!!

Usually you are able to transfer your purchased songs from a device back to your computer. This is done by right clicking on the device in iTunes and selecting transfer purchases. To get other music files, you should use a third party program which will copy your songs over. Several are available, such as Pod to PC.

  • Transfering contacts from iphone back up to ipod touch. Can it be done

I am thinking about getting a ipod touch cause my iphone 1st gen got wet, but it was backed up. If I buy an ipod touch can I transfer my back-up contact info to an ipod touch

With every sync your contacts on your pc and iphone should be updated. So you cab use your windows contact app to sync it to the ipod touch. Disable automatic sync in itunes, activate the option to delete all contact info on the ipod once in the info pane with your ipod connected and sync. All your contacts will be transfered to your ipod.
