Transfering ppurchased music to other computer

i purchased several albums from itune store to my laptop. and burnd audio CD to import to tower computer. when put CD in tower, it's said "song names not be found online." and playlist information did not show, shows only track number.
why music information did not show in CD.
both computer are authorized.
please help.

Because you didn't keep the track info when you burnt the cd. Go to preference > advanced > burning and make sure "Include CD text" is checked.
Even this is not full-proof, however. For more (and better) transfer ideas, see these:

    Hi emile,
It is not entirely clear when the transfer process from your computer to your iPod classic fails, but if the iPod is not being recognized by your computer this article may help -
    iPod not appearing in iTunes
You may also want to try resetting your iPod -

  • I have transferred my music to new computer but music is not showing in iTunes - although is on the computer as if I select a song from the folder it will play that song via iTunes. How can I get my music to show?

I have transferred my music to a new computer following the instructions carefully but for whatever reason the music does not show on iTunes on the new computer. The music is there as I can access it via My Computer and if I select a song it will show in iTunes and play - however I can not do this for every single track! Can anyone suggest something I have done wrong????

Media was moved via external hard disk, and I think I moved the iTunes Media folder after consolidating it.

  • Transferring my music to new computer from Time Machine

There are probably several places I could have posted this but this seems to be the best place for the specific question I have.
My macbook pro recently died and I've got a brand new one and I'm having trouble transferring my iTunes library from the Time Machine backup to the new MBP. Unfortunately I wasn't the greatest at keeping my tags perfect and when I drop all my music into itunes many of the tags are nonexistent. I've tried using the backed up iTunes Library file with the new computer but transferring the music itself into iTunes sorts them in completely different folders than it shows in the library file.
I figure the best fix for this would be to dump all the music directly into the iTunes>Music folder directly from finder but when I do this I get this error message:
The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access “_”.
Any ideas on either how to gain "permission" or if there are any other ideas to get all my music transferred cleanly would be greatly appreciated. I've got about 80gb of music and about 4000 songs are missing significant pieces to their tags so going through and fixing them 1 by 1 is just not an option.
P.S. If you haven't done so already, I suggest going into iTunes, select all your music, right click and choose convert id3 tags so you can avoid any problems in the future.

I suppose there isn't necessarily a good reason but I just wanted to start fresh. I had accumulated a lot of stuff (apps, tweaks, extensions, overall junk, etc.) that was taking up unnecessary space and resources. It was my first Mac so I did a lot of messing around to learn the OS. With this new machine I feel as though I have a better idea what works/doesn't work and I can avoid installing every little thing because it looks like it might be helpful when in reality it just sits there unused. Everything has worked perfectly for me and I have everything set up perfectly save for this music issue (which in many ways it's the worst possible problem of all)

  • Transferring purchased songs to other computer

It shows that songs were purchased in my history from another computer, but they are not in my playlist library. ALso how do I guarantee that all my purchased and downloaded songs stay in my itunes account when I deactivate a computer. Getting ready to get two new computers, but there will be a few days in between i will not even have the old two that shared my account...help!!

You need to copy them from the computer you purcahsed them with to the other computer. You can use CD/DVD, external hard drive, flash drive or network the computers.
ALso how do I guarantee that all my purchased and downloaded songs stay in my itunes account
Songs don't "stay" in your account. They stay on your computer and on your backup disks. If you get rid of your computers befefore you make a backup of your songs, you will lose your songs.

  • Itunes transferring music to other computer?

    OK.
I have a PC running Vista, and have an Itunes library(a gig or so)and my dad has a Mac. How can I transfer my library to his computer, without using 4 USB sticks?
    Please help me ASAP,
    SHIV

The iPod Touch _does not_ support disk use. Other iPods (nano, classic) do, so you could use one of those. Or, burn a DVD. Or, get a bigger USB stick (I have some 4 GB ones; 2 GB sticks are ~£15).

  • After transfering my music from my computer (windows7) i cant open my apps like facebook and skype etc

after transfering music from Itunes on my computer (windows7) I can't open my apps like facebook or skype

If it's just the appsthat you've downloaded from the store that you are having problems with then try downloading any free app from the store (as that appears to reset something) and then re-try them - the free app can then be deleted.

  • Moving Music to other computer on Itunes.

I am buying my son a 13" Macbook and I have all his music and my music on my Itunes on my computer. I am trying to find out how he can move his music over from my computer to his laptop.
I would be very greatful for any informations about this,
    Thanks and Merry Christmas!

If both computers have a firewire port, you can do the following. If so then start your computer in Target Disk mode and copy over your entire music library to your new MacBook's music library.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58583
Move all of your music on the new mac to a different directory to be safe.
Connect the computers via firewire and start up the old computer in Target Disk mode.
Copy over your entire library from the old mac to the new mac into the Music folder (unless you changed the default location of you music files). Make sure you copy over the iTunes library file (xml file)too. In iTunes you may have to select the library file for it to recognize the file structure.
There is also a migration manager assistant which moves your files from one mac to another - but I have never used it. It may copy over all of your files from one mac to the other.
    hope this helps

  • Syncing music to other computer.

My laptop crashed to my dismay. I have some music on my mother's computer that I'd like to put on my iPod, but if I sync those songs, it wipes my previous songs. How do I add the music on my iPod to my mother's computer so that I may add it to iTunes and sync it all over again?

You need to use your backup copy of your computer to move the music.
The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The exception is itunes purchases.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy of your computer ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from your ipod:
    Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases

  • Is there a way of transfering my music onto another computer??!! :)

my sister just bought a computer...how can transfer all of my stuff into hers!!
can i just download itunes and plug in my ipod...or would that just delete my stuff??

*can i just download itunes and plug in my ipod...or would that just delete my stuff??*
If your iPod is set to sync automatically on connection then your songs will be erased if you connect to an empty iTunes. If you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer or with more than one library you need to change the update preference in the iPod Summary tab to "Manually manage music and videos" and click Apply. The content of iTunes and the iPod are not syncronised in this mode so the two can be different:
    Using iPod with Multiple computers
    Managing content manually on iPod
    Syncing Music to iPod
You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows with iTunes 7.3 or later installed hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys together. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer. Once you are safely connected you can change the setting: iTunes - Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows
Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device: Safely Disconnect IPod
The transfer of content from sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However if you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer

  • How to recover the itunes music from other computer

i am using windows 7 64bit (computer B) with itunes. suddenly i lost the music from the itunes. i have another computer windows 7 32 bit (computer A) with itunes. how to recover the music from computer A to computer B
    thanks
    jimmy

Main thing is why would you be losing your music in iTunes.  If it happened during an update and that's why you need to refer to the article to restore your old library.
However, if you want to move iTunes from old computer to new computer:
    Refer to these articles:
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer

iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

  • Question regarding transferring files to my other computer - ???

Hi, I have a question ... Here's the background ~ I have two iPods (iPod touch and iPod nano, older model) and want to be able to sync them with the laptop my brother gave me. It's a Dell, running Windows Vista - Business version (??)... I'm in the process of moving all my files over, or rather, I would like to move all my files over from my eMac (Mac OSX 10.4.11) to the Dell and then replace my eMac with a newer desktop computer because the eMac has been running poorly for some time now. My other files moved over fine but the stuff I've downloaded from the iTunes store doesn't move properly, much of it says it can't be moved from the eMac. Some of it came over... the newer shows, for example (Fringe, and Dr. Horrible) but all the shows I've downloaded for my kids won't move over. It's not an issue of hard drive space, as I have plenty. And I've checked authorization ~ both computers are authorized, so I should be able to move it right?? But the iPods refuse to sync with the Dell.
What's going on? I feel like an idiot (and probably am :: lol :: )
    Thanks in advance =^_^=

Am I able to just "plug and play" or do I need to download the software that came with my HD to my computer first?
You can use the hard drive as is; the software is intended for Windows and/or is intended for a specific purpose beyond simply storing data on the drive, such as automated backups.
Secondly, how do I transfer my iTunes and iPhoto files over to the HD and retain my playlists and photo albums?
Create a new Finder window, click on the item in the Finder's sidebar with the house icon, and then drag the items Music/iTunes/ and Pictures/iPhoto Library/ to the drive. You may want to erase the drive in the Disk Utility, which is in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder, first.
