Transfering purchased songs from ipod

When I hit File<Transfer purchased FROM ipod
I get this: 100 total problems
could not be copied to ipod because they could not be found?
Thats not even what I asked!! I asked to transfer the purchased songs back from the ipod back to my itunes library because I lost 100 or more of them when I bought a new computer, and tried to pull saved library off EHD.
I have tried some free download copy programs, but I can't get them to work either.

Did you look on the external hard drive to see if the files are still there somewhere?
When you plug in the iPod, do you get a notice telling you the iPod is not synced to this library and then offering to allow you to transfer the purchases?

Please help... my daughter just purchased a used iPod with 4000+ songs on it. I loaded iTunes okay but then keep getting a message that the iPod needs to be restored/it's unable to be read. Apparently this will erase all songs. Since the songs are not already on our computer I don't want to erase them. Is there a way to transfer the songs to our computer (Windows XP) before restoring the iPod? Is there a better way to do any of this? I've tried to read all of the other posting but can't figure it out. Thanks!

how do i transfer songs i bought from the wifi music store onto my itunes library?
i manually manage my music so when i hit sync, it doesn't do it. when i hit file, transfer purchases from my ipod, it transfers all purchased songs, even ones i bought on other computers and then put on my ipod, not just through the wifi music store. How do i transfer just the ones purchased on my ipod?

Clicking "Synchronize" will only transfer songs from the library to the iPod.
To transfer music donwloaded from iTunes Music Wi-Fi Store to the computer, connect your iPod then right-click you iPod name on the Source list and hit "Transfer Purchases".

How to Transfer Purchased Songs from iPod back to iTunes.

I lost some purchased songs in iTunes that are on my iPod. How do I do this? I see the place in iTunes to click to make this transfer but I'm not sure how to keep the iPod from syncing from the computer first and then it will match the computer and the songs will be lost on the iPod, too. I guess what I'm asking is how do I keep the iPod from automatically syncing to the computer the minute I put it in the dock? Is there a way to make syncing of songs manual?

You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘ Apple) keys. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and it will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer: iTunes Keyboard Shortcuts for OSX
Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual if you wish. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in the Summary tab then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod

My computer crashed, I had a mix of purchased songs and songs that I have imported on it. On my ipod I have 700 songs, only 117 have been purchased, the rest are from cds that I imported. I can transfer over the files that I purchased from my ipod back to my computer, but how do I get the rest of them back in my library???

okay...i dont know if you can pull this off but i just got a new ipod classic 120g...and my friend has the same. he has a TON of songs and i want alot of the stuff hes got...theres a catch though: i have itunes with about 6 g's of music on it, and i havent imported those songs into my classic yet. Transferring purchased music from iPod to iTunes

By accident, I deleted two albums from my hard drive. They were purchased from the iTunes store. I do have the music on my iPod though. I went through the process of making sure my computer was authorized, and then from the file menu, chose "Transfer purchases from "my iPod". It says it is syching, but I cannot find the file in iTunes, nor on my hard drive. Any suggestions?

Hi .. we do this all the time..if its downloaded music put your music into a folder.. then use the drop down "file" menu and import the folder...its really easy..but you also have to create a path for your music..this is done via "edit" drop down /preferences/advanced.. and tell it where your music folder is... other wise your music wont play... if you are using your own cd,s its even easier just put cd in.. tick selected songs.. and import cd

"iTunes cannot add any songs to the iPod . . . no songs in the playlist 'Purchased' can be copied to this iPod." This is the message I get when trying to 'autofill' songs purchased on my MacBook to my iTouch. I have been doing this for the past couple of years and it has worked just fine. Songs deleting when Transferring purchased songs from iPhone to computer!

When I transfer purchases from my iPhone to my laptop the process does not always seem to work. On a few occasions, it appears to have completed. But when I check iTunes on my computer the purchases are not there and try are also deleted from my iPhone! So I'm left with nothing. Does anyone know a way to restore purchased content to your iPhone?

Update iTunes on your computer.
On the iPhone, open up the iTunes app. See Purchased at the bottom. Find your movies and you should be able to redownload for free.
On the computer, get into the iTunes Store, in the top right column, it says Purchasd. Again, you should be able to download them.

I purchased a song on my iPhone, but it doesn't want to transfer to my iTunes when I try to drag it. Transferring purchased songs from my iTunes to my iPhone is no problem, just not the other way around. Does anyone know how to do this? I have a 3G iPhone.

Do you have Sync Music selected under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes?
If so, this is automatic, or should be. With Sync Music selected under the Music tab, after purchasing a song with your iPhone the song will be copied to your iTunes library automatically the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so. The same applies with 3rd party apps if you have Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
Are you manually managing music and video with your iPhone with this selected under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes? If so, after music is downloaded with your iPhone it will not be copied to your iTunes library automatically the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so since you are manually managing music and video with your iPhone, which provides no benefit with an iPhone whatsoever compared to doing the same with an iPod since an iPhone doesn't support disk mode.
If you are manually managing music and video with your iPhone, music and video is not being transferred to your iPhone automatically - it is being done manually - hence the name of the option - "manually manage music and videos". If you choose to manually manage music and videos, then you've also chosen to manually transfer any music or video that was downloaded from the iTunes store with your iPhone from your iPhone to your iTunes library.

iPhone warranty is not international, but is valid only in
the country of original purchase. Since you bought the iPhone
in the UK, your warranty is valid anywhere in the EU but not
in Egypt. You can gry taking it to an Apple authorized reseller,
but don't be surprised if they tell you they cannot do anything.

You need to sign in to itunes, click the Store tab at the top and click "authorize this computer". now try transfering purchases.

If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.
