I transfered all of my purchased music from my iPod to my Macbook but now it says that the original file can't be found. What do I do now??
Help please!

OH MY GOD.
Itunes, I take it all back. You are the best. I don't care if you will take over the world someday. You are amazing. As long as I can get my apps again, for free, I love you and will never complain.
I just went to buy it again (sourly) and clicked purchase, but then it said I already bought it, and to clikc 'ok' to download it for free! I LOVE YOU. I LOVE THE WORLD. THANK YOU!!!! ♥♥♥

  • HT204053 Can you merge two Apple IDs into one?  It was a common issue caused by the iPhone 4 and has been corrected, but transferring purchases in iTunes is a pain with two IDs.

For a brief time when iPhone 4, iOS 4 came out, many of us ended up with two Apple IDs.  I want to know if anyone can please provide me with simple step-by-step instructions on merging two Apple IDs into one?  It would make transferring purchases on iTunes much easier and reliable.  I realize i desperately need an iOS update, but i had no laptop for over two years!  I'm posting a cry for help on that in another community.  Thank you all.

    No,
Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

  • Transferring Purchases Between Itunes Accounts

For about 8 years now I have been using my dad's Itunes account to purchase music, so there is about 1000 songs of mine on his account. However, I am about to buy a mac for myself and I am going to be setting up my own Itunes account. Is there any way I can transfer all of my purchases across computers from my dad's account to my new one?

An additional note is that if the tunes a .m4a then there is no DRM asscociated and you can add those tunes to your Library. The tunes just will not be asscociated with your account but you can still play them. If the tunes are DRM pproteded .m4p then you would have to authorize your computer to his account to play those files. TV Shows and Movies are DRM protected.
So if there is no DRM there is no real reason to repuchase the tunes. Just be sure to keep a b/u on your iTunes Library.

  • Why is my iPad storage space filling up when transferring purchases to iTunes?

    Hi there,
    Hopefully somebody can help.
I recently bought an iPad & it's been great, but I noticed when I was Transferring my purchases from my Pad to my Mac, my iPads disk space starting filling up under the 'Other' catagory.
Why is it doing it? Surely it shouldn't be putting anything on to my Pad?
Now my storage space is almost full, but I have nothing on my iPad that wasn't there before.
    Thanks for your time.
    Paul

Okay, first thing is to look at all your iTunest tab settings like music, movies, podcasts, etc... to make sure you don't have it set to automatically download new content onto the iPad.  If so, anything you've purchased on your computer will then turn around and try to load itself onto your iPad.
The next thing would be to do a restore to factory settings and then re-sync using your most recent backup, assuming you have a good backup.  Once in a blue moon the data on the iPad can get corrupt somehow and give all kinds of false readings on how much memory is being used, etc...  The restore usually fixes it.
    Best.

  • Problem with transferring purchases in iTunes...

    So here's the deal.
I've had my iPhone 3g since it was released and had it sync'ing up to my work computer for awhile but for the past 8-9 months or so I've been using the phone the whole time without sync'ing or updating. I just bought all apps through the phone over wi-fi. Everything has been great except I'm taking delivery of an iPhone4 in a week so I want to get my iPhone 3g backed up and ready to transfer over to my new phone.
The problem is, when I try to transfer my purchased apps to iTunes it says I need to activate my computer with iTunes.. I did that. I even de-activated and re-activated, still no dice..
I did some searching on google and someone said something that caught my attention, and realized maybe I was using my iPhone under an account I had previously registered with apple. I got a Macbook Pro last summer and was thinking maybe I registered my latest account with apple then but never ended up switching over to that account with my iPhone.
Phew.. So basically, my dilema is that I have several games on my iPhone that have progress on them I do NOT want to lose (I've been working on 100% completing peggle for over a year now here and there) so starting fresh is out.
So I'm coming here first to ask about this before I end up doing something stupid like 'syncing' and having all my apps and progress erased for good. I want to make sure I do this right and figure out what the deal is.
The other wrench in the works is that my pre-order for the iPhone4 is under my current apple account (the one I entered in to iTunes and won't accept my purchased apps) so I don't want to fiddle too much with my account information or any of that until after I get the new phone.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

And is that what you did?
    You used two different accounts?
If so, authorize your computer for the new account then sync the iPhone.

  • Transferring purchases from Itunes to my Ipod

I purchased new music from Itunes. It is in my Library and will not transfer over to my Ipod. I did get a new computer that operates on Windows Vista. How can I get my old music and new music from my library to transfer onto my Ipod.

You possibly have to authorize your purchases again:
Either play one of your purchased tracks through itunes itself (you'll be asked for authorizaton then)
Or use iTunes Menu -> Store -> Authorize Computer

  • Transfering Purchases To Itunes - Any Way to Recover Purchased Songs/Apps?

    I. Am. So. Angry.
This is why I hate itunes!!!! Everything is so confusing!!! Someone, please help?
I have Itunes v10, and an updated Ipod. But nearly every time I transfer purchases to my computer, it doesn't transfer something, yet no error comes up to warn me! And then I sync my Ipod, thinking everythings good, and all the purchased apps and such will still be there... BUT THEY ARE MISSING. I did not delete them! And they are gone! WHYYYYYYY
This has happened with countless apps and music files. Is there any way to recover purchased things? I DO NOT WANT TO BUY THEM AGAIN.
    OK.... Calm down, Uo.... sigh
I have divorced parents, so I have to sync my Ipod with both computers... I have not found out how to do this. Can someone explain how? I think homesharing might work. Also, I want to be able to recover my lost PURCHASED apps/songs. I am very displeased and may never buy another itunes card or product. Every. That's how upset this is making me. PLEASE HELP. And explain in detail, I am stupid.

  • Transferring purchases in ITunes from another user ID

I'm trying to transfer purchases from my husband's AppleID account to mine in my ITunes and I'm getting this message:
"If you download past purchases with your Apple ID, you cannot auto download or download past purchases with a different Apple ID for 90 days."
I had just been downloading my purchases because I'm setting up my new Mac (previously had everything on my PC).  It seems like it'll let me do it, but how will that restrict me, or will it mess up my account?

Logout of your current iTunes and login to the old iTunes ID. You'll then be able to redownload the songs to your iphone. Once done, simply logout of the old Apple ID and back in to the new one.

How do I find all the purchased items on my iPhone? When I try to update the iPhone iOS while connected to my MacBook it says there are purchased items on the phone that have not been transferred to my iTunes library and that I should transfer them before updating.

  • I got a new laptop and when I sync my itouch only purchased music where transferred to my iTunes

When I tried to sync only music purchased through Itunes was transferred.  All the music from CDs where not!.  I couldn't backed up my itouch because my old computer crashed.  And now my itouch has only about 200 songs which is not even the same numbers of songs that i have in my purchased itunes.
There is one thing though!  WHen I connect my itouch, and see the music folder, I can see all my songs.  DOes that mean that they are not totally lost and that i can recover them?  If so, how?
    Pleaseeee I need help.

  • When recently syncing my iphone, itunes asked me something regarding transfering purchased items or something.. I foolishly didn't read it properly and now I can't get purchased songs from iTunes back on to my iPhone... Please help!!

    Hi,
When recently syncing my iPhone a message came up regarding transferring purchases or something.. In haste I pressed the wrong reply.. My phone synced, but removed all of the songs I purchased on my iPhone. Although they are still on my iTunes and I can play them.. but they will not sync back to the iPhone what so ever.. I'm stressed out big time and can't believe I was such an idiot lol!! Had a look at a few forums.. But they seem to be about transffering from Iphone to Itunes...
    Please Help xxx

At the AT&T store. Tried using iCloud but only 120 songs were transferred and when I access my iTunes account now it only shows 120 and not the 450 anymore that I purchased on my old phone. Tried to sync again from the phone to iTunes and it still not working.
I purchased everything under the same apple ID account I called apple support and spent almost 2 hours with tech support for assistance and we got disconected and they never called me back.
I'm at the point where I'm about to never purchase anything anymore from apple go to another company retrieve every single charge made on my bank account from iTunes and file a law suit against the company. It's being a week that I called for assistance and no one called me back to help me with this matter even after I responded a survey with a complaint about not getting a resolution to my problem.
If you could please help me I will appreciate, I'm out of the country now and can't stay on the phone for a long time.
I need to sell my old phone but as right now besides all my bank statements the old phone is the only evidence that I purchased the songs.

  • Purchased movies from iTunes on iPad. Movies have transferred to iTunes on Mac BUT I'm unable to wee/watch movies on my Apple TV. I can see all the other movies I have purchased on iTunes on my AppleTV but NONE of the movies that I purchased on my iPad.

This one has me confused. I have all my devices set up for home sharing. I can stream music and movies from my iphone to my Apple TV. I can stream from my iMac to my Apple TV and from my iPad to my Apple TV.
However, the movies that I originally bought with iTunes on my iPad have transfered to my iTunes on my iMac BUT I can not access these movies through my Apple TV.
The movies I bought on iTunes on my iMac have a small half blue circle and the ones purchased on my iPad do not. Not sure what this means...
This has me really confused and I'm sure it might be nothing more than a simple setting somewhere but I would love to figure this out. It's almost like there is some digital right on these movies and it's not allwing me to access this from my other Apple devices.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Geesh - all this information and no  one has any clue to this? Not even someone from Apple?
Can someone at least point me in the right direction?
