Transfering songs from Shuffle 3rd gen to new computer, old one crashed

The old computer crashed and is gone. New one is OS Windows 7. Old one was XP Professional (not sure if it matters). I keep charging the IPOD , but cannot add to the songs. How do I do it ? I tried downdloading programs, but just get confused.
Please help.

purchased adobe 10 and 7 -- 2012 and 2013 -- trying to install on new computer. old one crashed. shows i need serial number. where do i get it. only have 6 discs.

Adobe is a company... what does "Adobe 10" and "Adobe 7" mean?
If you bought those on disc I don't think they are part of the Cloud
The serial number is usually on a sticker on the disc holder inside the box
If you lost your serial number check https://www.adobe.com/account.html for your registered products
When you figure out what programs you have, you might check the specific forums

  • New computer, old one crashed, need iTunes

My old computer crashed, thehard drive is toast. Can I transfer my songs on my iPod to my new computer? How?

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    TuneJack Windows Only
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iGadget Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    SharePod Windows Only
    iRepo Mac and Windows
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac and Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows
There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

  • Transferring songs from an ipod to a new computer

i have all of my songs on my ipod and need to know how to transfer them from the ipod to my computer. please help!

It's not saying the phone has been used on 5 computers, it's saying your Apple ID has been used to authorize 5 copies of iTunes on computers.

  • I Pod Shuffle / 3rd gen. - New computer

    Good morning;
I purchased the above shuffle as a gift for my wife in January. We downloaded I tunes to her Dell Inspiron running Windows XP. Both I tunes and the shuffle performed flawlessly. She has since added 1.5 gigs of music to the shuffle; a process that has taken a substantial amount of time.
I purchased a new Acer laptop running Windows 7 for her on Sunday to replace the Dell Inspiron. We successfully downloaded I Tunes to the new computer and attempted to transfer the music files present on the I Pod Shuffle to her new computer. The program does not appear to allow for music file transfer and instead, wants to erase everything from the I Pod by re-syncing to the new computer. I downloaded the music files to a 2 gig SD card but am unable to transfer those files, or force I Tunes to even recognize them, into the new computer.
What am I doing wrong and how do I transfer the music files from the I Pod into the new computers I Tunes program?
    Many thanks!

    Amen to that!
The main problem, as I see it, is that the old Dell laptop did not have a burner. Instructions are provided on how to transfer files via DVD / CD by disk -+if the machine has a burner+. I’ve gone so far as to insert an SD card reader / adapter into the USB port on the host Dell laptop computer, download the music files onto the card, remove the card from the laptop, insert it into my new Dell office desktop (Vista 64 os) that has a burner, transfer the files from the SD card onto that hard drive and then burn those MPEG4 files onto a 4.7 gig DVD. Subsequent top that, I inserted said disk into the new Acer and added all files to the Itunes library.
The file transfer took, but the music will only play if the disk is in the drive.
I also attempted to load the files using the Apple tutorial for importing CD’s. Only problem is, there is no import function present as shown on the tutorial. Itunes is, without a doubt, a major source of aggravation and a complete waste of my past two days! And... no Apple has virtually no support!
    Does anyone have a suggestion?

As for the songs not on your iPod, they are lost, unless you backed them up. You might contact iTMS and beg for another download, but they are under no obligation to allow it.

  • I need help getting itunes on my new computer. old one crashed

My old computer crashed, I downloaded iTunes on my new computer and need help getting all of my stuff on it that I had. I did 'home share' to see if that worked, and it didnt.
Also, on my old computer, when I synced my iPad & my husbands iPod, it didnt sync any music or podcasts, no videos-and i went through each category seperately to sync it and it didnt work. So I can't sync my devices to the new iTunes bc not everything is on there that i have purchased.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your comuter for just this occasion.  Use your backup copy to put everything on the new computer.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup, not good, then you can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries:

  • Sync ITouch - onto a new computer  old one crashed

Does anyone know if there is a way to sync the Itouch content back onto my PC. My old computer crashed and the only way I know to syn whats on my itouch is to load each CD all over again.

If you only want to copy your purchases to the computer that can be done using iTunes, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (including purchases) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod Touch or iPhone. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer data (such as playcounts and ratings), movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well.

If your iPod is set to update automatically you need to take care connecting to an empty iTunes. You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows with iTunes installed hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys together. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer: iTunes - Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows
If at any point you get a message that your iPod is linked to another library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod.

  • How do i transfer all my ipod songs from my ipod to my new computer?

how do i transfer all my ipod songs from my ipod to my new computer?
i stil have my old computer. but i have 500 songs. so i dont want to burn them onto cds then upload them. is there a way to transfer the songs from the ipod to my new computer?
    dell demension 9100   Windows XP

Hey, I had the exact same issue. The way that Apple explains to do it is change your iPod into hardrive mode by messing with the preferences. While your iPod is hooked up to your old compuer, go into preferences and check the box saying enable disk use. Then your iPod will appear on the desktop and you can drag the song files into it. I don't know if you can transfer them all at once or not. Anyway, then you hook up the iPod into the new computer and drag the songs into iTunes. I had trouble doing this and it erased all my songs one time but I think it was an error on my part. Another way to do it is to send the song files through AIM. Have someone on the old computer and you on the new one and send them in large bunches to the new computer. Yet another way is to e-mail them to yourself and download them on to the new computer. The sure-fire way (and the way I finally succumbed to but it worked!) is to download the program iPodCopy on the new computer and follow the instructions to have your music quickly and easily copied. It does cost $17.00 dollars to download but I was willing to pay the price to have my music transferred hassle-free. Just type iPodCopy into google and it should come up. After months of trying and searching how to transfer my music to the new computer, this was my last resort and it was well worth it!
I hope my suggestions help you out in your iPod escapades!
Let me know if they work. Buenas Suerte.
