Transferring All Information From One iPod to Another

I have an iPod Touch 3G and I'm considering buying a 4G. Is there a way to transfer EVERYTHING from my current iPod to the new one? Thanks!

Yes, when you buy the iPod touch 4th Generation, you can just sync all the information from the iPod touch 3rd Generation to the 4th Generation. I had to do that for my 7 iPod touch 4th Generations on my warranty everytime one of the iPod touches had a problem.

  • Transferring all data from one computer to another

    Hi,
I have an iMac and a Macbook Pro - I would like to completely switch the data on the two computers.  In other words, I'd like to put everything that is on my macbook on the iMac, and vise versa.  I have backed both computers up using Time Machine, but I'm not sure what the best way is to do the swapover.  Any ideas?  I want to do more than just add the data from one to another, I want to completely wipe out the imac and install the macbook data on it, and completely wipe out the macbook and install the iMac data.  Any ideas?

What I would do is to move all the apps music and other media to the new cmputer.  Make sure the computer is authorized for the iTunes account(s) and iTunes logged into the progler account. Then connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up.  Restore the iPod from that backup.

  • Transferring CD Music from one iPod to another

I have recently purchased a 4th gen i Pod nano to upgrade from my old 2nd gen iPod because I ran out of space on my 2nd gen. My computer crashed a few months ago and I noticed that only my purchased music can be transferred to my 4th gen, but my CD music was no longer on my computer and I cannot transfer my CD music that is on my 2nd gen over to my 4th gen. Is there a way to be able transfer that music without having to go through the process over again, because I no longer have my CD's so I hope that there is a way to put my music where I need it to be.

    Hello there,
Welcome to the forums. One way to get all that music back to your library and eventually onto your new 4th generation nano is to rip the music off of your 2nd generation iPod and onto iTunes. More help can be obtained through the link below, which offers a few different methods for completing this task. Once you do that, you are free to sync that music to your new iPod. Hope this helps.

  • How do i move information from one Ipod to another?

I am planning to get a new Ipod touch, and I was wondering how to bring my memory from my old Ipod touch to my new one, such as purchased apps, songs, movies, and so forth.

All yur items should be on the computer yu use to sync with the old iPod.  When yu get the new iPod, first do one final sunc of you old iPod.  The first part of the sync is a backup.  The dissconnect the first iPod and connect the new iPod.  If this is the first time the iPod has been connected to a computer for activation. iTune shold say it found a backup and would your like to restire the new iPod fronm that backup or as a new device.  Select restore from backup.  Your iPod should then be like the old one.

I don't see anything in Help that shows when you already have transfered all the files over.  Why would it want to erase and sync when I already have all the music folder copied over?  I didn't have an issue when I had another technician copy from one laptop to another.  Home sharing is also on but not being recognized.

I suspect you only migrated the media folder instead of the complete working library. Either review the transfer process and copy over the entire iTunes folder from your old profile's music folder or see Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

    Hello everybody,
I would like to copy all the songs from one Ipod into another. All the songs are into my Itunes account, I tried to drag and drop the songs from the old Ipod to the new one but it doesn't work. Is there a way to do it ?
I share one Itunes account with other people from my family and one person would like to keep the same songs on the new Ipod as the ones which were on the old one.
Thanks in advance for your answer.

    Hello Chris,
Thanks for your answer. I was hoping for an easier answer. Too bad there is no drag and drop solution, it would have been much easier.
    Thanks for answering so fast.

  • How do I transfer music from one ipod to another?

Hello, I need help transferring music from one ipod to another? I got a new laptop and now my itunes library does not contain a lot of my music!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
There is more than one way, but to get it all on all devices, connect the first device to iTunes and choose to transfer the music from the device from the file menu. Once everything is in iTunes connect the second device, select the device in the device list, navigate to the music tab and check the content you wish to sync, click apply/sync.

  • How do i download music from one ipod to another ipod

how do i download music from one ipod to another ipod ?

It needs to go through your computer's iTunes library.  If all the songs on the iPods are already in your computer's iTunes library, just sync each iPod as desired from your iTunes library.
If the songs on your iPods are not in your iTunes library, the approach here is to first off-load the song files from the iPods to your computer's hard drive.  Then, add the song files to your iTunes library, so that it is "consolidated" with ALL of your music.
You cannot transfer song files from iPod to computer using iTunes, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store.  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
Once you have ALL of your music in one iTunes library on your computer, sync your iPods as desired.

How do I transfer playlists from one ipod to another?

It needs to go through iTunes.  But there is no way to transfer songs from iPod to iTunes library (except for music you purchased from iTunes Store).  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do a Google search on "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
Once the song files are on your computer, add them to your iTunes library.  You can then sync your iPhone to the iTunes library.
Alternately, if you sign up for the iTunes Match service, your iTunes music library on your computer will become available from iCloud.  You can set your new iPhone (assuming you bought a "new" iPhone) to sync from iCloud, instead of from your computer's iTunes.  All of your music will be available wirelessly, wherever you have an Internet connection.

  • How do you transfer music from one iPod to another?

How do you transfer all of your music from one iPod to another DIRECTLY from that iPod? Not all of the music on my iPod is in my library so I'm not sure how to transfer it, if it's even possible.

Search for an app that may utilize BlueTooth to do that.

  • How to transfer songs from one iPOD to another one?

On my old iPOD I've collected songs for various libraries (from friends and my two computers) but stupid iTUNES won't let me transfer my songs from this iPOD back to Library.
So, now when I've got a new a iPOD, I have to put all the songs there again, because iTUNES again won't let me transfer songs from one iPOD to another iPOD, when both are connected to the same computer!!
    What should I do?
Apple as an innovator company should come up with an update to solve this easy issue.
      Windows XP Pro

Haven't you got your songs in iTunes? Just connect your new one and it will update from your Library.
However if you have deleted them from the PC, there are a number of third party utilities that can retrieve the files from your iPod.
