Transferring Apple TV movies from old computer to new computer

I recently bought a new computer and am trying to transfer my purchased Apple TV movies from my old computer to my new computer. What is the easiest way to do this?

See instructions here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9135898&#9135898
You'll need an external hard drive or something similar....

  • Moving movies from old iphone to new computer

My old pc has died and I havew purchased new one and in process of synching my iphone up to it.
My iphone has about 25 home movies on it (not taken with iphone) that were synched up to old computer that I no longer have access to.
These movies appear in itunes in under films when i explore iphone - how do i get these movies copied on to my new computer as there does not seem to be a copy option?
I have music in itunes on new computer and have transferred purchases/apps etc and contacts backed up but worried that i will lose these movies if i proceed to sync...
    Help would be much appreciated....

With a Mac, you'd connect the iPhone to the Mac using the USB cable and then launch iPhoto or whatever other photo/movie application you like, and then import the videos from the phone. You should be able to do the same with your PC; use whatever video importer you like, it should treat the iPhone like any other camera.
You can also use this iOS app, but it will only work pictures and with fairly short videos.

  • Transfer iTunes from old HDD to New Computer

My computer died and I have a new one and I want to transfer my itunes Library to the HDD of the new computer? I have the means to connect the old HDD to my new computer through the USB.

    Hello lynton123,
It sounds like you have music that you want to transfer from your iPad to your new computer. You can use the Transfer Purchases function to get your iTunes and App Store purchases copied to your computer:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1848
Any media that you had imported to your previous iTunes library and synced to your device will have to be re imported to iTunes, and synced over again.
If you still have access to the computer that the iPad used to sync to, you can use this article to copy over the iTunes library from the original computer to the new one:

  • How to get music from old ipod to new computer

I have an old iPod nano and I want to get the music to my new computer (iTunes).
How do I transfer it without losing the music? All the music in the iPod used to be stored in my old computer/itunes, which not longer exists.

    Hi rominabate,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you want to move your music from your iPod to your new computer. The article linked below provides several options for recovering music from your devices and backups, like transferring music that was purchased from the iTunes Store on your iPod to your computer.

How can I stop my old apple macbook pro computer from syncing with my new apple computer and iphone?

  • Transferring iTunes TV shows from old PC to new MAC

I recently purchased the a brand new MacBook Pro in mid-July. I would like to know how to get the TV shows I bought through iTunes on my old windows laptop to my new macbook pro. I have the same account pulled up that I purchased them with, but it says only one machine is authorized to play purchases. How do I authorize my new machine, and is there a way to recover my old TV shows purchased and add them to my new iTunes library?

To authorize your new computer, open iTunes and under the menu for Store (not actually in the iTunes Store) select Authorize Computer.
Do you still have the old windows laptop with your files on it? If so, you need to move them to a thumb drive or burn to a disc and transfer them to your Mac. If you no longer have the laptop, hopefully you have the files synced to an iPod. If so, you should be able to transfer your purchases.

  • Best Way to Move from old iMac to New?

My super sweet new 27" iMac is due to arrive next Thursday and will be replacing my mid-2007 iMac. Each OS release has been installed on the 2007 iMac as an upgrade and hasn't been cleanly installed since it was new.
Though I use TimeMachine, I was under the impression that using TM as the migration tool would bring along all of the system files and I wanted to start as clean as possible. So, I had originally set my mind to using the Migration Assistant when the new iMac arrives, which would allow me to have a "clean" system along with all of my apps/files/etc.
BUT... today I was setting up a new iMac for someone, migrating from another iMac that was about 1 year old. Because it had never been upgraded, I decided to the TimeMachine drive. So when initially setting up the iMac, I was prompted for the migration options: from another computer, from another disk, etc. I chose "from another disk," which then presented me with the options expected through migration assistant ( applications, users, etc ). After continuing, I am confident that none of the system files came over from the TM backup.
So... I am not thinking that using my TM backup and the "migrate from another disk" option may be the fastest migration method and still preserve the clean integrity of the new system.
    Does anyone know for sure?
    tia,
    Bill

A few more things about what you can expect with Migration or Setup Assistant --
    * The "time remaining" calculation is not very accurate. It might indicate 16 hours to go when there is really less than an hour (or vice versa).
    * Wireless migrations take a long time (many hours sometimes).
    * The migration is smart enough to not bring over an older version of, say, iPhoto, when your new Mac came with a newer version than you had before.
    * After the migration, SOMETIMES (not always) you may be prompted to enter a user code or key for software from Microsoft, Adobe, etc. so have those ready.
    * You will probably have to reinstall your local printers and their latest drivers to work on the new computer.
    * Setup Assistant running on first boot up before any users have been created on the new computer is the best way. Then your new computer (with the exceptions noted above) will look basically just like your old one after the migration. If you use Migration Assistant instead of Setup Assistant, don't create a user with the same name as you had on the old computer, instead create a generic user called "Admin" or something like that, and then the migration will move your entire old account and user name over to the new computer (if you already created that same user name on the new Mac, it will have to give your migrated user a different name, which bothers some folks).

  • Adobe X11 and CS6 move from old PC to new PC

I got new PC and like to move my former installations -programs- from old HDD to the new PC
    How can I do this?
I did download and automatically install some years ago.; so no compressed installation file available.
But all my programs are officially bought and registered.
    Thanks for advise
    cruizer7

It is VITAL to keep the install file, even at some effort. It's a good idea to burn it to a CD or DVD so you have it if your computer fails.
Well, you need an installer now. You CANNOT copy Acrobat between systems.
Make sure you have your serial number too. Since your apps are still current perhaps you can download them from the MY ADOBE link on Adobe's main site. Good luck!

  • Can't downlaod songs from old mini to new computer

Is there any way to download songs to my new computer from my old iPod? It say's that I need to sinc it but I don't want to lose all of my music off of my iPod?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Connect your iPod and when you get the message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press *No*. Pressing "Yes" will irretrievably remove all songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual.
You can also use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys (on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘) keys). This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer. Then go to Preferences>iPod and check the "Manually manage songs and playlists" box: Managing Your Songs Manually
If you want to recover the songs that are on your iPod and put them on your new computer, there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs but not playlists back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward.
iPod Access Mac and Windows Versions
    YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions
    PodUtil Mac and Windows Versions
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
    PodPlayer Windows Only
    iGadget Windows Only
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync again.

  • Stolen Computer - Can I still upload music from old iPod to new computer?

Our computer was stolen last fall, so I'm unable to change the settings in iTunes on the iPods and iPhone we have with all our music files on them. I'm wondering if there is still a way for me to transfer that music (and photos) from our iPods and iPhone to our new computer without being able to access the old computer itself? Please help! I really don't want to have lost all my music and photos!

  • Transfering music from either my ipod or from old itunes to new computer

i just got a new MacBook Pro with itunes i would like to get my songs from my old itunes on my other computer to this one but i dont think there is any easy way to do it. if that doesnt work i would like to get my music off my ipod to my new itunes

This doesn't appear to be an option anymore.
I can check songs but there's no transfer button -
Syncing doesn't transfer songs in that direction -
You can add to a playlist but the song still isn't there.

  • HT1349 Transferred songs from old iPod to new computer and now songs won't sync to my iPhone 5

What should I do? To get them to sync to my phone?o

What computer OS are you using? Do you have the latest version of iTunes (v11.1)? There has got to be a reason for the disconnect in the music syncing. I would recommend resetting the sync history. If you are in Windows, go to Edit, Preferences, Devices, and there is a button there. Now, with the phone connected to iTunes and the phone selected in the Device pane, you go to the Summary page and down towards the bottom of the page, there is a Reset Warnings box. After doing that, try to sync music again. If there is a problem, with the warnings reset, it should show up if there is one.

  • Old Mac running Mountain Lion 'sees' Canon IP5000, new MacBook pro will not. No driver available from canon. Is there a way of transfering whatever is working from old mac to new?

I have two older macs running Mountain Lion that have been upgraded over the years from Leopard. They have continued to be able to print to a Canon IP5000 and use a driver that is fully functional. On the new MacBook Pro, the printer is found, but no driver is available for Mountain Lion from apple or Canon. Is there a way of getting the driver info from the old mac so that it will work on the new one?

Sorry, it says "New Event," not "New Entry." My bad.

  • HELP! Email accounts won't move from old BB to new BB!

Hi there. I am new to the forum. I recently purchase the BB Curve 9330 because my old 8330 was slowly dying. I transferred my contacts, etc. without a hitch.  Here is the problem:
I tried to send an email and here is what happens:
It says "No messages services configured. You will be directed to set up wizard"
I click "ok" to go to setup wizard
Set up wizard says "A new BB device has been detected.  You must move email account(s) to resume email delivery to your BB device"
I have two email accounts.  I follow the step to move both.  My new device identifies them and verifys my passwords for both.
However, the two accounts do not show up on my BB device like they did on my old device.  When I try to send an email again, I am redirected to do the whole process over and over again.  Then I tried to add a new email account and it wont let me because the device says that account already exists, but it is nowhere to be found!  HELP!!  Email access is vital to my job!
    Thanks!
    T

This worked for me, too!  Until today around noon, I was still getting the 500 error.  It's working now!  Thank goodness!

  • Transfering previously purchased songs from iPod to a new computer

Please help... my daughter just purchased a used iPod with 4000+ songs on it. I loaded iTunes okay but then keep getting a message that the iPod needs to be restored/it's unable to be read. Apparently this will erase all songs. Since the songs are not already on our computer I don't want to erase them. Is there a way to transfer the songs to our computer (Windows XP) before restoring the iPod? Is there a better way to do any of this? I've tried to read all of the other posting but can't figure it out. Thanks!
