How do I transfer Applecare (MBP is less than 1 yr old) and Applecare was bought with new MPB) to new owner who bought MBP ?
Please advise

6. Transfer of Plan
Subject to the restrictions set forth below, you may make a one-time permanent transfer of all of your rights under the Plan to another party, provided that: (a) the transfer must include the original Proof of Purchase, the Plan's Certificate and all of the Plan's packaging material, including printed materials and these Terms and Conditions; (b) you notify Apple of the transfer by sending, faxing or e-mailing notice of transfer to Apple Inc., ATTN: Agreement Administration, MS: 217AC, 2511 Laguna Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95758, U.S., fax number 916-399-7337 or [email protected], respectively; and (c) the party receiving the Plan reads and agrees to accept the Terms and Conditions of the Plan. When notifying Apple of the transfer of the Plan, you must provide the Plan Agreement Number, the serial numbers of the Covered Equipment being transferred and the name, address, telephone number and email address of the new owner.

Transferring AppleCare to a new owner

I purchased an MBP from the Apple store around August when my state held a tax holiday, but due to indecision ended up not using the product at all. I know this is going to sound pretty weird, but it's sitting in my home sealed in its original packaging. I'm considering selling it on eBay, and I'm wondering if the new owner will have just one half of the original one year of Apple Care, or if there's a way for them to have a full year since the computer is technically new. Applecare starts from the date of purchase, not from the date that the box is opened.

When selling an apple product with active applecare, how do you transfer to new owner?

I am planning to sell my iPad 2 with current applecare thru December 4, 2013. How do I transfer it to the new owners name? Or do they just register it under their own AppleID using the product serial number?? I have all receipts.

Call Apple support, ask to speak with someone in AppleCare Plan Adminstration, and they should be able you. Transferring the plan isn't strictly necessary, but it could avoid potential issues should the purchaser ever need service.

Is there a quick and easy way of transferring the license ownership of one user to another? I cannot use my copy of Final Cut Express due to an underperforming Macbook. I've already registered it but want to transfer ownership. How does one do this with an Apple product?

To begin with, you don't have to register it and registering gives you no benefits.
However, if the new owner wishes to register, all they do is hit the registration button and they will become the newly registered owner. The previous owner's registration will be deleted as it is overwritten by the new one.

Unless you are transferring an APP with your PowerBook, there is nothing you need to do. Of course, it would be a courtesy to the new owner to hand over the original bill of sale/receipt for the PowerBook, but the warranty is dependent on the date of first sale which is attached to the serial number on the machine and not to the machine's original owner.
If you have an APP, you would need to follow the steps delineated in paragraph 6 of the Terms and Conditions:
6. Transfer of Plan
You may transfer this Plan to a new owner of the Covered Equipment by sending or faxing notice of transfer to AppleCare Administration, P.O. Box 149125, Austin, TX 78714–9125, U.S. (fax number 512–674–8125). You must provide the Plan Agreement Number, the serial numbers of the Covered Equipment being transferred, proof of purchase of the Plan, and the name, address, telephone number and email address of the new owner.
You would have to read the EULAs for any third-party software to learn how to transfer those items to a new owner.

Transfer Applecare to new machine

My home was broken into and my Macbook Pro stolen. Fortunately, I have insurance and will be able to replace my machine. When I replace it, will it be possible to transfer the AppleCare from the old computer to the new one?

In all my reading of the AC extended warranty it is Tied to both the User and the system but not to either exclusively. In other words if I sell my Mac that has AC on it the new owner is not automatically covered as it is registered in my name and to the Mac serial number. Both have to be correct for the AC to be used. I can Transfer the AC to the new owner but then if he sells it he can not transfer the AC to the Third owner. Once it has been transfered once that is it.
Along with that it is not transferable from one system to another unless the original system was replaced by Apple becuase of defects.

If you are asking about AppleCare and if that is transferable, the answer is apparently yes for new purchases at this time (not sure if this same policy was in place when your computer was originally purchased):

Before you sell or give away your computer, in addition to the steps mentioned in this support article, take these steps:
Run Apple Diagnostics or the Apple Hardware Test. The buyer will do this (or he should), and you don't want to be surprised by the results.
Reset the PRAM and the SMC, which might contain personal information.
If you set a firmware password, remove it by running Firmware Password Utility in Recovery mode.
If you activated FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, turn it off.
If you use Boot Camp, the partition must be deleted
If you created any other data partitions on the internal drive, remove them in Disk Utility.
Erase the data partition(s) with the option to zero out data. An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.
You can't legally or practically transfer any software downloaded from the Mac App Store to the new owner of the machine, even if it was free. That includes OS X, so if you upgraded to OS X 10.7 or later, you must reinstall an older OS, either from the installation media, if applicable, or by booting into Internet Recovery (option-command-R at the startup chime.) If you installed from physical media, deliver those to the new owner.
If you're selling the machine, or donating it in working order, and it originally shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, then you have the option of installing either from the discs that came with it or from a retail Snow Leopard disc (which you must then transfer with the machine.) The buyer should understand that if he doesn't get the original discs from you, he won't get the bundled iLife applications or the Apple Hardware Test. Replacements for the original discs can be ordered from Apple.
The new owner will have to redownload any software that came from the App Store, including OS X upgrades, under his or her Apple ID. If you ever updated the bundled iLife applications (Garage Band, iMovie, and iPhoto) through the App Store, you can't transfer those either.

Potential new owner

I have a friend, we have known each other about 18 years. He has an early 08 macbook pro. He is selling it. I am waiting for the pictures to give my final answer but here is my question. I am converting from a pc. I know from a previous discussion segment that I cannot do One to One if not buying from Apple. How do I get all my stuff transferred to my new computer? Can I buy that service from the store? Do they still do the procare?

Switch101 http://www.apple.com/support/switch101/ in general and in your case the 'Migrate your files' http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2518 shows different ways to get your files to the Mac.
It might be possible to get the store to do it for you, but personally I don't find it neccessary.
The AppleCare is only buyable within one year after the date of first purchase of a Mac.
Since that MacBook Pro is from 2008, you can't get AppleCare for it anymore.

iPhones require a SIM for activation.
Put the device in DFU mode (google it) and restore via iTunes.

Try the following....
Go to Settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account. Then log in using a different ID.

Hello, your iPad is 'Activation Locked' as a part of 'Find My iPad'.
Log onto www.icloud.com, go to 'Find My iPhone'. Then select 'All Devices', your old iPad will probably show here, select 'Remove from Account'.
If there is no option to 'Remove from Account' ask the current owner to switch iPad off for a while, and remove from account should show in 5 minutes or so.
