Transferring apps from iPhone to iPod touch

Is it possible to wirelessly transfer apps or files on my iPhone to an iPod touch via WIFI or Bluetooth? I know I can transfer contacts and photos through the "Bump" app.
Can I transfer apps without connecting to a computer?

Apps are DRM protected & tied to the account that was used to purchase them. You can share apps among family members under the EUSLA. Launch itunes on her login, disable auto sync when an ipod/iphone is connected, under preferences, then connect your phone. Sign in to itunes using YOUR ACCOUNT. DO NOT SYNC! Then go up to Store>Authorize this Computer. Then, go up to File>Transfer Purchases(This will put all itunes purchased content from your phone into her itunes library). Sign out of your account, sign in to hers, connect her phone & select the content you want on her phone & sync. All updates to apps purchased under your account will have to be done under your account, e.g-you launch itunes under her login, sign in using your account, update the apps, sign out, sign her back in & then update the apps on her phone.

  • Does anyone know how to remove you tube app from my sons iPod touch.

Please can anyone advise me how to remove the YouTube app from my sons iPod touch

It can't be removed, but you can restrict it. Restricting it will remove the icon from the screen, as well as require a passcode that you set in order to activate it.
Settings > General > Restrictions > Enable Restrictions. Then turn YouTube OFF under the "Allow" section.

  • How do I add my apps from my old iPod touch on my new one?

I have a new iPod touch, but my apps from my old iPod touch won't load on my new one.  How do I do this?

Perhaps the Version of the Apps on your Old Device are not compatible with your New Devices' iOS.

  • Transferring paid apps from 1rst gen ipod touch to 2nd Gen

I'm replacing my first gen touch with a 2nd gen touch.
I've got several paid for apps on the first gen.
How do I install (transfer?) these on the new touch?
I also want to reset my first gen touch- so that nothing ins on it except the default apps, so I can sell it.
How do I transfer my paid apps to the new ipod touch?
    thanks

Connect the original iPod touch to iTunes, select it, choose Transfer Purchases from the File menu, and then sync them to the new one. Click here and follow the instructions to erase the original iPod touch.

  • Does messaging to/from iPhone to/from iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch count as a text charge for Verizon?

My dad has an iPad 2 and my little brother has an iPod Touch (4th generation). As long as there is a Wi-Fi signal, they are able to message, Facetime, and use the internet all for "free" (no extra charges from our internet service provider, which is obvious).
My dad recently purchased an iPhone 4S from Verizon.
He is currently on the "Pay As You Go" plan for messages ($0.20/text and $0.25/picture and video).
When are messages free, and when are they not free? Are they free as long as there is a Wi-Fi signal? Are they free as long as it is from the iPhone to another iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch? Do I get charged for data only when I see the "3G" symbol displayed in the upper left corner of the iPhone?
    Thanks in advance!

I then turned Wi-Fi off on the iPhone 4S but had "Send as SMS" turned on, tried sending another message to the Touch (Wi-Fi activated), and it did not send at all (because the Touch is SMS-incapable).
That sort of makes sense, but even with wi-fi off the 4S should have been able to send the iMessage over 3G to the Touch, which was on wi-fi.  Your results would only make sense if the 4S didn't have 3G service, or if the iMessage servers were down, or if you've turned iMessage off completely on the 4S.  That would force the message to go out as SMS but the Touch can't receive SMS.
Sorry, I was a bit unclear there.
I had both Wi-Fi and Cellular Data (3G) turned off to see if "Send as SMS" alone would work if I was sending a message to an SMS-incapable device (to see if the iPhone would try anyway and to see if I would get charged for that).
I'll type out some scenarios, and tell me if I'm wrong on these. They might seem redundant since you have pretty much answered all my questions, but I want to make absolutely sure that I understand. These could also clear things up for others who will/have read this discussion.
Scenarios involving iPhone 4S to iPod Touch (both running iOS 5):
4S has Wi-Fi, 3G, and "Send as SMS" turned on. Touch has Wi-Fi turned on.
4S can iMessage to Touch via Wi-Fi (as long as there is a Wi-Fi signal) free of charge and will remain free of charge and with no accrued data usage because 4S prioritizes Wi-Fi before 3G before SMS.
Once out of range of the Wi-Fi signal, 3G kicks in and any iMessages sent from 4S to Touch will count towards data plan usage (in my dad's case, 300MB/$20 per month - the minimum plan). However, data size will be insignificantly small if it's a simple words-only message and will only be a fraction of a percentage of the 300 MB.
My dad turns off Cellular Data (3G), Wi-Fi is still out of range, and he sends a message (keep in mind that "Send as SMS" is still turned on). Because the Touch is not capable of sending/receiving SMS messages, the message will just fail to send.
These scenarios would also have the same outcome if the Touch had been a Wi-Fi-only iPad. If the iPad had 3G capability, the message received from the 4S would have added towards the data plan usage of the iPad.
Scenarios involving iPhone 4S to another iPhone (both running iOS 5):
Both phones have Wi-Fi, 3G, and "Send as SMS" turned on. Messaging plan for each phone is "Pay as You Go" - $0.20/text and $0.25/picture or video.
iMessages are free and do not count towards data plan usage if both currently have strong Wi-Fi signals.
4S still has strong Wi-Fi signal, other iPhone gets out of Wi-Fi range and switches to 3G. Any messages received by the other iPhone from the 4S will count towards data plan usage of the other iPhone. However, the outgoing message from the 4S will still be free and will not count towards data plan usage.
Other iPhone turns off 3G and is still out of Wi-Fi range but still has "Send as SMS" turned on. 4S (with strong Wi-Fi signal) sends message, "I love you." to other iPhone. The message will still be free and will not count towards data plan usage for 4S but will charge $0.20 to other iPhone.
Scenario involving iPhone 4S to Samsung Galaxy 2 (running Android OS):
4S has Wi-Fi, 3G, and "Send as SMS" turned on.
Any message sent from 4S to Galaxy will count as SMS because Galaxy is incapable of iMessage. Therefore, Wi-Fi and 3G are insignificant, and 4S is charged $0.20.
4S has Wi-Fi, 3G, and "Send as SMS" turned off.
4S will not be capable of sending anything.
4S has Wi-Fi and 3G turned on, but "Send as SMS" is turned off.
4S has strong Wi-Fi signal, but message will not be sent to Galaxy.
4S gets out of Wi-Fi range and 3G kicks in, but message will not be sent to Galaxy and no data usage will have occurred.
That should be everything...at least everything I've considered.
    Again, thank you.

  • Transferring games from iphone to iPod

i got a iphone and i am selling it and getting an iPod and i got this one game i am addicted to and i dont want to start the game again from the beginning is there any way i can transfer my game data into my ipod without starting again?

Apps can't be transferred directly from iOS device to iOS device.

  • Transferring apps from Iphone 3Gs to PC so i can upgrade

I have tried everything i can find to transfer my apps from my iphone 3GS to itunes on my PC so i can upgrade the phone but nothing works..Right click on phone on left side of screen, click transfer purchases and it only transfers 1 app which was a free app....I have synced the phone/ back up a couple times in the past couple weeks but it takes 4-6 hours to complete and still only shows 1 app in my itunes library...I dont have that much on the phone..150 apps....50-60 pictures and address book...does it always take this long ? Help.....Jay

Just FYI, when I did this, I had to manually select all the Apps to reinstall after restoring the iPhone4 with my iPhone 3GS backup. Most of the data for those apps transferred over with possibly one exception - a game (Nanosaur 2) in which my save games all disappeared.
I guess what I'm curious to know is, when you restore from a backup, shouldn't the Apps automatically restore and be in their previous positions? I had to go back and manually rearrange all my Apps which took quite a bit of time.

  • How do i get my apps from my old ipod touch to my new ipod touch

my son had to get a new ipod touch because he shattered his screen. the person who helped us said that his ipod was backed up to my icloud so he will be able to transfer his stuff to his new ipod. when he got home and we went through the process it said to either register as a new ipod or go to icloud. we went to icloud and it said to hook up to your computer. WHen I did that all of my apps/music went to his ipod. We never backed up his original ipod on the computer. When I go to manage storage I see the back up that I need but don't know how to tranfer it to his new ipod. How do I do this?

  • Transferring apps from iphone 4 to iphone5

I have a new iPhone5 & successfully transferred contacts & other data successfully fro my old iPhone4, but haven't been able to transfer the apps from my old iPhone.  I transferred purchased apps to my Mac, but my iPhone5 isn't compatible with the version of iTunes I have, it indicates I need version 10.7, but my Mac has OS X 10.5.8 which isn't compatible with version 10.7.  I'd really like to be able to manually sync my iPhone 5 with iTunes, but haven't found a way to download iTunes version 10.7 since I need version OS X 10.6.8 or later.

Are you on wifi?   You can always sync with your PC if the apps are local and that would speed it up dramatically.

  • Is there a way to have the exact same apps on iPhone and iPod touch

Can I do this automagically ?
Have the same apps in the same places on both devices and keep them in sync ?
Both devices are running the latest iOS software.
Obviously the phone app would not be on the iPod touch.
I know I can spend an hour or two doing it manually but I would like to have it done automatically.

No. You have to do it manually.

  • Can't get app from library to ipod touch

i bought a new app for my ipod touch and it is in the itunes library but does not appear after syncing on the ipod. it is rather large and i need it for work. i seem to have enough free space for it to fit, but i can take more stuff off (photos etc.) if need be. it is checked in the library before syncing and when it does not appear and i go back and look it is unchecked. ??? any ideas?

    hi!
    * Sorry for my last post, this is want i want you to search for:
    SYNC/ERASE
    * using the latest iPod Updater and iTunes Correctly:
    1. Run iPod updater, then connect your iPod shuffle
    2. After it recognizes the iPod, run iTunes
    3. The iTunes will not recognize the iPod shuffle.
    4. Close the iPod updater, iTunes will now recognize the iPod shuffle
    5. You could now sync/erase your songs
    * I think the iPod shuffle updater program conflicts with iTunes program:
Coz, if you just connect your iPod shuffle and let the iTunes run automatically, the iTunes will recognize it while the windows will recognize it for just a sec then disconnects it, that's why you couldn't sync/erase yor songs.
** Only tested in iPod shuffle, but i think this will work too if you got the same problems.
    * wait 5-10 sec for each steps (1-3)
i hope this would help you!..

  • Transfering music from itunes to ipod touch

I bought my ipod touch about 8 months ago and I used to transfer music without creating an itunes library and every thing worked OK.  I updated my itunes and ipod software about a month ago and I have had nothing but problems.   I now use an itunes library and transfer my music from it to my ipod.   I just recently updated to the latest software and firmware and now I can't move any music from the library to the ipod.  I drag the song from the library to my device and let it go and it flashes a couple of times and that is it, nothing else.  Does anyone know what is going on?  Help!

There is a problem with itunes or maybe ios7. Most user can's transfer their music on any ios devices.
I have unistalled itunes and reinstalled it with no luck. As usual..... apple will wake up and fix this issue.
It sounds weird but every time apple releases new major upgrades there is always a BUG that ****** off users like you and I. But there is always a fix at the corner.

  • HT201269 transferring apps from iphone 4 to iphone 5s, apps stuck in waiting mode

I just upgraded from iPhone 4 to iPhone 5s, and while retrieving my backed up information, half of my apps have been stuck in "waiting" mode for two days.  Should I start over, or does it really take that long to transfer my apps to the new phone?
