When you set up the new Mac, you can use Migration Assistant to transfer both from your iMac and your external drives. You can also use Target Disk Mode to drag over the things you want.

I just installed iTunes 64 bit on my PC with Windows 7. I transfered my movies from my iPod Classic but no album art on any of them. I even try to find album art but nothing. I've downlaoded a couple of music albums onto same PC that I downloaded previously on iPad and they have art but not the videos I just transferred from iPod. I also can't play any of them on PC. I keep getting the no Quicktime message even though I downloaded QT. Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem, except I dont have itunes match enabled.
I synced my ipad and unchecked all my albums to remove them. Then I re-synced with the albums selected. They went back on WITH the artwork under 'artists' but then for some reason the next time I sync, some of the artwork under 'artists' is gone leaving only a music note for the cover.
It also has nothing to do with the cloud backup as I have experienced this with both backing up to the cloud and to my mac.

Problem transferring PDF from pc to itunes to ipod

Hey guys! Good day!
I have just encountered a problem in my newly installed itunes(11.0.1).
I got lost, it was too far from the former version i have which is the itunes 10.
I have some troubles in transferring pdf files in my ipod.
The "Book" tab in itunes was gone in the current version.
Please help me. I really need this in school!

It is still there. To make things seem more familiar to you
From the Top Menu (Ctrl B if you cannot see it)
Select View > Show Sidebar
Then your device will appear in the left hand panel as usual.
Click on your device and the book page is the eigth button accross the top.
You can select your pdfs as usual and click apply

GB stops recording while inputting audio from cassette

I've been recording from a cassette deck through the line in on my G5. I recorded 14 cassettes with no problems. On the 15th, the GB recording suddenly stopped about five minutes in. I reset the tape and the timeline and tried it again. It stopped at about three minutes in. Several attempts more have made the recording time shorter and shorter.
Any ideas on what's going on?

The solution seems to be in deleting all the previously recorded tracks in order to make room for the new ones. I had been recording tape after tape into GB with the idea of dropping them all to iTunes at once.
If you find yourself in this situation, try burning the files over then deleting old tracks. It worked for me.

Transferring photos from laptop to Itunes

I had to do a systems restore on Iphone. The only thing that bothered me was losing the photos, i found most of them stored on my laptop. Is there any way of transferring them to Itunes and thus onto my Iphone when i sync?

They don't get physically copied into iTunes, instead when you have your iPhone connected to iTunes, one of the tabs on the iPhone's window should be photos - you should then be able to specify which folder(s) to sync photos from. The iPhone iOS 4 manual (page 60) says :

As I don't have a Mac (and therefore don't have Aperture nor iPhoto) and I don't have PS Elements on my pc I have to sync from folders, which have to be subfolders off the same 'master' folder i.e. I can't sync c:\folder1\pics1 and c:\folder2\pics2, I would first have to move/copy pics2 to be a subfolder of 'folder1'

Transfering Music from Harddrive to iTunes Library...

Im obviously doing something very wrong. I have all my music on an external hard drive. All I want is to copy them to iTunes library without lots of duplicates. I have changed location in Preferences to search for music on the hard drive (which mysteriously has just changed from E to F?). Each time, I delete the itunes library - then go File - Import Folder to itunes - Select it - then it seems OK. Then I have 11GB worth of duplicates... Last, thing is that it also randomly puts non compilation albums in Compilations. Ive tried moving them, creating folder and moving, but each time I try and get it all sorted, next time I try and copy over successfully again even more albums appear! You can't sync or drag your non iTMS music back directly from an iPod to iTunes, the transfer of music is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward. As iTunes 7 is just out some of these may not work with it yet though I haven't experienced any problems with the Mac software I use.

Transferring purchases from ipod to itunes 8.0 hangs

I am trying to transfer purchases from my ipod to a new PC. I am using itunes 8.0 and the transfer starts but then hangs. The initial transfer is a movie from the ipod (perhaps relevant, perhaps not) .. any ideas ? is there a known issue with transfering purchased movies from the ipod to itunes ?

I throw my hands in the air, 446 U2 songs gone....gone where...who knows...why?...because i clicked one button in itunes to transfer purchases from ipod to pc...!!! Sorry I'm really really REALLY annoyed...I bought this back in February 2005...and now it's gone...I don't appear to be able to download it again, I can't even find it on the website....but there were other albums also gone...!
Does anyone have any hints suggestions before I smash the Ipod to bits :O
I searched HD for songs but no joy..heart breaking..to say the least..(regardless yeah I should have had a backup..) but the transfer should have transferred them somewhere...I guess.

Transferring songs from ipod to itunes on computer

I recently loaded songs from a CD onto my portable computer.
I then transferred these to my ipod.
I am unable to simply transfer these from my ipod onto my main computer.
Suggestions?

Because the computer to iPod transfer is, by design, one-way with the exception of being able to transfer your iTunes purchased content back to a computer off the iPod.
If you want to be able to move songs from one computer to another, then you may want to "Enable disk mode" on your iPod, which will allow the Nano to be used as a standard external drive. Now drag the songs into that part of the iPod (the disk side, rather than the music player side via iTunes). Then on your other computer, you can drag them off the disk mode side of the Nano into your iTunes library there. Much like you would do with a normal external hard drive or USB flash drive.

Could anyone help. I currently have an iPod photo but am just awaiting the delivery of my iPod Video (cant wait!)
I no longer have any music on my iTunes as had to restore my laptop so wont be able to update new iPod that way.
Is there anyway that I can get all my playlists from my iPod photo to iTunes so I can then transfer to the iPod video?
I have found one program called copypod but will only let me do so many tracks and I have 4000 to transfer back??

There's Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer.

While transferring music from phone to iTunes on computer, it deletes all music I didn't buy from iTunes.

I recently transferred my iPhone 4 to a new laptop. I'm trying to transfer the music that is on my phone to the new computer, but it deletes all the music that I hadn't purchased from iTunes. Anyone know how to fix this? Need help ASAP!

See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. If non-store media has been deleted from the device and you have no other sources to reclaim it from then there really isn't much to do but accept the loss and make sure you backup properly in future.

my old computer with all of my songs are fried. I only have the songs on my ipod. Just got a new Macbook. How do i transfer songs from my ipod to a new itunes library without wiping it out?

Definitely a good idea to have a backup, but obviously that's not the case for you!
There are third-party software applications for transferring ipod music to your computer, and they cost about what three albums would on the iTunes store.
I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link.

Transfering Pictures from Laptop to itunes - Iphone will not accept

I have pictures loaded from a digital camera onto my Vista OS laptop. The pictures were loaded in the windows application for pictures.
The pictures were transferred to itunes however when I went to sync - the error came back that Iphone can not view pictures.
The odd thing about this is when I loaded a Iphone using an xp laptop with the same pictures it worked. I have not been able to figure out why I can not load successfully from the vista OS. Any ideas?

I believe I read somewhere that subfolders can only be used down to one level, i.e. main and one subfolder.

Transferring Sound from Cassette Tapes

Not sure that this is the right forum for this topic, but I'd like to transfer some of my old recordings that were made on a Marantz Cassette Tape unit onto my computer.
Any idea how to hook everything up to accomplish this?

It isn't really but we like to help...
You need an analog/digital converter. m-audio and other make usb as well as firewire based ones.
attach the line out from your tape deck or amp to the line in on the A/D converter and the usb/firewire to your computer.
Open up Soundtrack, Peak or some other audio application that has recording capabilities.
Record away.

Audio from TV not iTunes

Set up Apple TV v.2 and I when I try to play iTunes I get video but the audio is from TV. What's going on? What do I have to change? I have it playing thru home theater system using HDMI cable.

That will carry audio to your TV. If you want your home theatre to output audio you either need to connect via optical or if you have an older system there are two options: output from the TV to the receiver or purchase a converter.
