Transferring audio from zen touch to zen vision: m possib

Hi. So this is my first message, and I've just purchased a Vision M. I already have a 3 year old Touch, 40GB. I love it, I just wanted an upgrade, and like the compatibility I find with the Creative line.
I have nearly 5 GB of music/audio files on my Touch... nearly every single CD I own is on it. (I think I've a bit of audiophile in me... :P )
So here is my question: Is there any way I can transfer the music I have on my Touch to the Vision M without having to load it all back up on my computer? (some of it is there, just not all of it..) It would be so much easier if there were a compatibility driver of sorts to transfer the files from one player to the next more quickly. I realize that the chances of this are slim, and I've never heard of it on any other platform, but you never know. I did use the Creative MediaSource Organizer to transfer all the files, and they are all in the same format (MP3). If anyone has any information regarding this, it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
deb

have you tried plugging both into the computer at the same time? If you can do that, what shows up in windows explorer?
If they both show up then it would seem that simple drag and drop would work.

  • Transferring FROM Zen Vision M to Compu

Hi there, I have a 30Gb Zen Vision M, I have no problems connecting to thecomputer and finding the player, it will transfer from the computer to the player but will simply NOT transfer from the player to the Computer.
I am using a DLO (Brand Name) cable.
Can anyone help, I lost all music on the computer, i have it all on the player, but cant back it up.

Well i did try, but still it was the same.... and now it seems the files have disappeared! i'm so confused! i always thought of Creative products being relati'vely simple (despite a few minor problems with my player when i first purchased it) so i'm shocked that i cannot copy over music files by dragging and dropping. Any other ideas?Scene!Kid

  • How to transfer photos from Zen Vision M 60GB to

I was recently on a long trip and ran out of storage on my camera's memory in a location where I was not able to buy more memory or to transfer to a PC, so I transferred directly from my camera to the Zen using the USB function. The photos transferred smoothly and are showing beautifully on the Zen.
the problem is that I can't figure out how to transfer/copy them to my PC now that I am home. Looking at the user guide I'm getting concerned that I should have used the removable hard dri've function instead of the USB function....
?Anyone know how to transfer jpeg photos off the Zen and onto a PC? These are photos from Gallapagos, a once in a lifetime trip, and I'd hate to lose them....

When you transferred using the USB function, your files have been put under the Imported Files folder. Use Creative Media Explorer to go through your folders in your Zen, and under Imported Files you should see a folder with your pictures. Just drag and drop them back to your PC.
You can then erase the pictures from your Zen, and re-sync with your computer, and the pictures will then be under the proper Pictures folder in your Zen!

  • Problem transferring files from zen to

i recently backed up my computer files on my zen touch because i needed to format my computer, these files were backed up onto my friends system and then transfered onto my zen touch, i recently tried transferring my backed up files back onto my computer but it keeps saying "format cannot be read" or something on the lines of that, is there anything i can do to solve this problem?

Unfortunately I've seen this all too often with the players and will make the warning again to NEVER USE AN MP3 PLAYER AS A SINGLE SOURCE FOR FILES.
Despite this, sometimes upgrading or even downgrading the drivers can increase the stability. Notmad Explorer is more stable than other programs for data, and with Xstreamer, using the free trial, you can access data.

  • Any Softwares for copying from Zen Vision to Hard Dri

hey! Do u know if there are any free softwares that would allow me to copy the staff i have on my zen vision back to my computer? (i just had a format and lost everything!)

    Hi,
Well Media Source will handle media files (free from Creatives site). Rgegarding data and if you have a USB 2.0 port you can just use XP's Windows Explorer to access the media and data folders.
    Hope this helps,
    John

  • Transferring photos from iPod touch to Mac Pro

I used my iPod touch as a hard-drive while on holidays (transferred pictures from my camera to the iPod). When I got back home, I wanted to transfer the pictures to my desktop but my iPod does not show up on the desktop (this option is selected through the finder). The iPod will show up in iTunes and iPhoto, though it was a third party device I used (zoomit) to transfer the pictures as they were on SD cards.
If I could see my iPod on my desktop, I could transfer them manually but I'm at a lost as to how to get it to show up.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

If you were transferring your pictures directly to your touch, that's a new one to me. Normally when you plug your camera or SD card into your Mac, iPhoto opens and you copy your photos there. Photos are transferred via syncing with iTunes to your touch. If that is what you did, then your photos are in iPhoto waiting for you.
As others have said, your touch is not treated as a disk drive like the iPod classic is. The touch is not going to show up on your desktop, it is only going to be seen by iTunes. If you have an iPod classic, there are several ways to transfer your camera contents to the classic.

  • Transferring audio from cassette to iTunes

How can I transfer audio from a cassette tape to my iTunes library? Thanks in advance! lin817
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.3.5)

According to the Toast 7 features
Instantly capture and digitize audio with the desktop recorder Dashboard widget (requires Mac OS 10.4)
I added the bold. Since you are using OS 10.3 you would need to upgrade.

  • Media Source - 'file of this name already exists' transfering tracks from Zen Micro to

I've come home for the weekend, and I'm trying to transfer a few albums from my Zen Micro to my Mum's PC for her. Normally this works fine, but for some reason today I keep getting the message 'A file of this name already exists' for about 80% of the tracks I try to transfer. One or two tracks from each album will work and the rest will fail.
These are new tracks and they definitely aren't already in her music library - I've double checked the C dri've too.
I'm given the option to overwrite the exisiting tracks, so I gave that a try with one album, but the tracks still aren't didn't show on there once I'd transfered, despite the track number not going up, so god knows what's been overwritten with those!
    Can anyone help?
    Cheers!

Your firmware is not the PlaysForSure version.
Anyway, I just want to make sure that you have set up the directory and file naming convention correctly for MediaSource. Here is what you should do:
    - Launch Creative MediaSource Oragnizer.
    - Go to Tools->Settings->PC Music Library and click Properties. Set your preferred folder and file naming convention. Close the setting page.
    - In the Sources window, click to view PC Music Library.
    - Go to View->Right Panel View and select to view your MP3 player.
    - Transfer the tracks from your MP3 player to MediaSource's PC Music Library by clicking the arrow pointing from right to left.
    - If you have updated the track information of the tracks in your MP3 player, the updated track information will also be imported into the PC Music Library database. However, the tags of the files are not updated. Here is what you need to do. Right click the PC Music Library node in the Sources window or right click on any tracks in the PC Music Library window and select "Update Tag". This will update the tag of all the tracks or the selected tracks with the track information as seen in the PC Music Library.

  • Transfering files from Zen Sleek to an Ip

Just to preface, I do love my Zen Sleek, and think it's far superior to the Ipod in nearly everyway, but alas, I got an 80 gb Ipod for christmas, and decided I should use it. Is it easy to transfer files from my Zen Sleek to the Ipod? How would one do this?

I'm not sure if I expressed my need clearly however a clone of my information for the sake of protecting my files is exactly what my goal was and is. I want to "clone" the information from my iMac to my Macbook so that my files are backed up and useable on both computers. This will protect my data and enable me to use my data on both computers. I had nothing to lose by using the migration assistant from the iMac to the Macbook because the Macbook is virgin so nothing data wise of a personal nature was on it ... and I was able to transfer the data. The problem is the files and all their attachment files that got transferred are not in the proper place for Logic to recognize and use and I don't know how to get the 100s of iTunes songs i transferred into iTunes. The migration assistant migrated the files however the intended programs on the computer that received the files don't SEE them. What good is a transferred protected file if you can't get it to run? That's my problem and I've no doubt it's something I simply don;t understand about how Apple computers work.
So i totally agree with you, I need to back up my files. And being able to do that successfully from one Mac to another in a form where the files can be used by the intended program on the computer that receives the file is exactly my goal.

  • Transferring Files from Zen X

I backed up all my music to my Zen Xtra a while ago...
    Then my hard dri've crashed.
I want to now move all my files back to my harddri've (an external harddri've, to be exact).
The problem is that I don't have enough room on my main windows partition. There's only a little over gb of room. Whenever I try to transfer all the files using the "Nomad Explorer," it says that there isn't enough room on the C dri've. Apparently it's first putting the files in a "copy" folder on the C dri've, and then copying them to the external harddri've.
Is there any way to get around this? Because of this, if I want to transfer all my music I have to do it in sort of small increments, which is very time consuming.

    You can use Creative MediaSource.
    <FONT face=Helv size=2>
Here is what you should do:
    - Download and install Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2 from your product download site.
    - Download and install Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin 2.00.9 for Creative MediaSource from your product download site.
    - Launch Creative MediaSource Oragnizer.
    - Go to Tools->Settings->PC Music Library and click Properties. Set your preferred folder and file naming convention.
    - Transfer the tracks from your MP3 player to MediaSource's PC Music Library.

  • Transferring playlist from ZEN to PC

Anyone know how I can do this? No such option found on the Creative Sync Manager. If I need another program, fine, but which? Thanks

There are 3rd party paid utilities that provide for transferring these photos in the opposite direction but photos transferred from your computer are optimized for viewing on your iPhone as part of the iTunes sync/transfer process. The original resolution of these photos is reduced. If you are able to transfer these photos in the opposite direction, the original resolution of these photos will be lost. A price to pay for not including photos with your computer's backup along with all other important data, which should also include your iTunes library especially if your iTunes library includes any content purchased from the iTuners store. You can re-download 3rd party apps with iTunes on your computer and you won't be charged again for a purchased app as long as you use the same iTunes account to re-download the app that was used to purchase the app originally. This does not apply to any music or video purchased from the iTunes store, which can be downloaded only once. It is your responsibility to maintain a backup for this data - stored on an external drive or some other external media used for backup purposes only.
What sort of crash occurred with your MacBook that require reformatting your computer's hard drive or re-installing OS X via an Erase & Install? Not once since OS X was released 10 years ago using several Apple PowerBooks and a MacBook Pro have I ever needed to re-install OS X. I've experienced a hard drive failure which required having the hard drive replaced, but that is it in regards to having to re-install OS X. I maintain a backup for all important data on my computer's hard drive regardless.

  • Transferring library from ipod touch to new mac

I am getting so aggravated. I am trying to transfer my old library from the ipod touch to my new 27in mac and it is not completely working. I transferred all of the stuff (movies, music, tv shows) from my ipod to the new mac and some of the movies & tv shows that I have WILL NOT WORK nor will they even transfer to my ipod! It keeps telling me that they are not authorized to play on the new mac, and then I go to authorize the computer (which was already done) and it tells me that 'this computer is already authorized' I am at a loss right now, this is about $50 down the drain, and it wont even let me just watch them on the computer because it is saying "not authorized" Can someone please help me? I don't get why some of the movies and stuff work and the others don't...

  • Transferring content from Ipod Touch Generation 1 to Ipod Touch generation4

I would like to transfer all my apps, songs and pictures and video content to my ipod touch generation 4. What is the best way to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

It is easy. Just sync it to the same computer and the first time you connected the 4G restore it using the backup from your 1G. You should be prompted for that option when you first connect it.
