Transferring boxed Windows 7 retail license from dead computer to new computer
The old computer died so a new one was built. I have the retail Windows 7 license from the dead hardware, will the license automatically transfer to the new machine if I install Win7 from that DVD and use that serial number?
Yes, the only issue is activation. Depending on when it was last done, online activation may just sail through. If not, there should be no problem activating by phone. As long as it is really a retail version and being used on only one computer, you won't
have any problem.

Is there a way to transfer windows 8 license from old pc to new macbook air?
I got a macbook air about a month ago. I was wondering if it was possible to transfer the windows 8 os license from my old pc laptop to the macbook air?
If you bought Windows 8 on a DVD, you can transfer the license from your PC to the MacBook Air, always that you remove Windows 8 from your old PC.
If Windows 8 came with the PC, you can use that license only with your PC, not with the Mac -
How to transfer Acrobat X Pro from dead PC to new PC
How to transfer Acrobat X Pro from dead PC to new PC
Hi J6267t,
Wecome To The Forums
Please Follow the Steps mentioned below and let us know if it works for you.
Step 1
Install Acrobat on your new computer. For example, use the software installation disc or download an installation file from the My Adobe website.
Step 2
Run Acrobat on your new computer, enter your serial number when prompted by Adobe, and then click the "Activate" button. Acrobat will attempt to communicate your licensing information with its servers.
Step 3
Click "Help" in the top file menu of Acrobat and then click "Activate." If only "Deactivate…" is available, then your software has been activated successfully.
Thanks!

transferring my contacts to my phone from my computer saved as vcard, what program do i use, i have the apple 3gs. I used Icloud and clicked on import in contact there a message came back with an error
Hello Tehuti2,
There are a few ways to transfer contacts from your computer to your iPhone. I found an article that provides steps on how to import a vCard to iCloud.com:
iCloud: Import a vCard
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH3605
If your PC fits the following specifications, you can setup iCloud to automatically sync contacts with your iPhone:
Microsoft Windows 7 or 8
iCloud Control Panel 2.1.2 or later
iTunes 11 or later (for iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match)
Outlook 2007 or 2010 or iCloud.com
Safari 5.1.7 or later or Internet Explorer 9 or later (for iCloud.com and Bookmarks), Firefox 16 or later or Chrome 23 or later (for iCloud.com)

I hope this helps!

How do I deactivate a license from a computer that crashed and can no longer be accessed?
How do I deactivate a license from a computer that crashed and can no longer be accessed? I cannot use the software on my new computer because of too many users.
Will you please provide a specific telephone number or chat link? I seem to be in a loop, that gets me back to the same place:
I click on your above link ...
Then Deactivation and sign-out problems
Then Error "Activation limit reached" or "Sign in failed" | Adobe products
Then Can't access your previous computer?
Then "Don't have access to the previous computer on which you installed the application?Contact us. Be sure to have any purchase-related information ready."
"Contact Us" takes me back to "Need help?", which eventually directs me to this forum in the first place.
Thanks you. -

HT1296 How to transfer an itune license from a computer that is dead?
My computer (windows) crashed and cannot be salvaged so I purchased a new one. When I went to sync my ipad after installing itunes it wanted to wipe the ipad clean of any music that was not purchased through itunes. It said I didn't have a license on this computer. Since I cannot access my old computer to get the license number how do I switch to the new computer and not lose everything. I also have an iphone.
I don't know about transferring a license as I have never seen that. What you need to do is authorize the new computer in iTunes. Start iTunes on the PC and go to Store>Authorize this computer - from the iTunes menu at the top.
If you only have the old computer authorized for iTunes, you really don't need to deauthorize it yet. You can have up to 5 computers authorized at a time with the same Apple ID.
Next, you need to Transfer purchases from the iPad to the new PC, backup the iPad, restore from the backup and then sync with iTunes. Any content that was not purchased from iTunes will have to be transferred to the iTunes library by using a third party app. TouchCopy is supposed to be a very reliable app for that purpose.
Read this discussion for detailed instructions on how to sync to a new computer. You need to do it this way since you can't copy the old iTunes library to the new computer.

Transferring DW license from crashed computer
My old iMac's hard-drive crashed and the folks at the Apple
store were only able to get our pictures and videos off the old
machine. We bought a new iMac and I tried re-installing DreamWeaver
MX 2004 on the new machine and the installation is successful;
however, it won't open. I looked up the problem online and it says
I needed to transfer the license from the old iMac to the new iMac
in order for the program to work. Which is not possible ... as the
hard-drive crashed and I obviously couldn't do this. Adobe support
will not help on the matter because there is a newer version out
(what horrible customer support!). So, does anyone know how to
transfer the license from a crashed computer? Or have any other
suggestion besides buying the stupid software AGAIN!?On 1/5/09 7:47 AM, "noname29" wrote:

In the activation screen (when the program won't activate),
look for the
button "more activation options" (or something like that).
Find the option
to "activate by telephone" and call the number.
I *just* had that exact same experience -- hard crash, new
machine, couldn't
de-activate on the old machine, and couldn't activate on the
new machine
because I had reached the limit on number of activations.
I called the number, and I reached a nice Indian gentleman
who gave me an
authorization number to plug in, and I was back up and
running.
This was yesterday, so my information is very current.
Actually, it was
about 10pm last night (eastern time), so you don't even have
to call during
any particular business hours.

Transfer license from old computer to new computer
HI can you help me transfer my office 2010 prfessional plus license from my windows vista laptop (where it keeps crashing and i cannot activate the solution for this) to my windows 8 laptop. Office will be removed and uninstalled from the vista machine.
Thanks
Darren VincentHi,
You can install Office 2010 on your Windows 8 laptop and activate it.
If you have trouble activating Office 2010 on Windows 8 laptop, please do a phone activation in Office and the phone activation process will provide you with the appropriate phone number to call. Then explain
to the service (Human being) your scenario that you want to transfer Office to a new PC.
You can find your local custom support number on the link below.http://support.microsoft.com/gp/customer-service-phone-numbers/en-us
Hope this can help.

Moving Acrobat 11 license from old computer to new
I have Adobe Acrobat 11, purchased in March 2013. My computer was damaged and I had to buy a new one. Can I transfer the license from Acrobat 11 from the old computer to the new one?
You don't have to transfer it. But you can deactivate it on the old machine if it is still possible so that you retain the option for a second machine activation.
Adobe allows you to install/activate on two machines, so you can just install on the new machine as long as you have the second activation still available. -

Sync songs from dead computer???
Well I'm very angry right now. I downloaded 28 songs a LONG time ago, from a computer that is now broken, onto my ipod. I just plugged my ipod into my new computer and bought 14 songs. It will not allow me to download my new songs onto my ipod. It sees the old songs there, it is infuriating that it must delete them in order to put the new ones on. Are you freaking kidding me?? I need some help. Apparently I have to choose between 14 new songs or my 28 old ones...this is horrible. This is the least user friendly thing I have ever used, which is pathetic because it's from Apple. The old computer is no longer connected to the internet because it is dead. How can I upload the songs on my ipod onto my computer, or alternatively how can I get itunes to get smart and just ADD the new songs without WIPING my library??
Edit for a bit of clarification, I pretty much have one itunes library in a dead computer, and one on this one, and I cannot move the songs from my ipod to the new library. Why are your songs not on your computer?
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer. Your songs whould be there too.
The ipod is not a backup/storage device. It simply mirrors the selected content of your computer. it will sync to one computer at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content. This is the design of the ipod.
If for some reason you have failed to do the basics, then you transfer itunes purchases from an ipod: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
