Transferring contact list

6230i phone
PC suite 6.84
Windows XP sp2
I would like to transfer a list of contacts from my phone to my PC so that I can print them out, but I do not want to pollute my Outlook address book with all my phone contacts. The contact browser in PC suite lets me see a list of my contacts (with some but not all of the fields), but I can't find a way of printing this list directly or of exporting it. Any ideas please?

You can create a new folder in Outlook for contacts. Call it "Phone Contacts". Then set PC Sync to use that folder instead of the main contacts folder.
This way you'll be able to update the list autmoatically and you'll be able to print your contacts in any of the formats available in Outlook.

  • Difficulty transferring contact list.

I have Photoshop Elements 10. I am trying to add contacts for the purpose of emailing photos. When I go to Organizer then Edit a dropdown list pops up with a contact list. I click on the contact list and a Sign in page comes up. When I sign in the entire screen freezes up and I have to shut the computer down to get out of that screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you please share a screenshot of the sign in dialog?

  • Help with transferring contact list

So here's my problem, I had a Pearl 8130, and broke the trackball on it so it is no longer functional.  I just received my Curve in the mail today, and I want to move all my contacts from my Pearl to my Curve.  Everytime I plugged my phone into my computer, I hit "backup."  So my question is, how do I get them off of my Pearl?  If they are stored to my computer, what is the file they are stored in?  I can't seem to find anything anywhere, and there are no contacts from my phone in Outlook.  Is there another way to get them off my Pearl that won't require me using my trackball (it is literally gone).  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

How do I recover my contact list which I lost while transferring it from iphone3gs to windows address book.

Did you try and sync it with an address book on your computer that contained no entries at all?  If so, then they are gone.
IF you backed up the phone before trying to do this, you may be able to recover some of the information using 3rd party software to try and extract it from the backup. I have no personal experience with any of these programs, so I'll leave specific recommendations to others who do.

  • Hi everyone. New IPad 2 for christmas. Synced via my computer using iTunes. Question about contacts. My contact list only copied to my iPad contacts with email addresses only. The contacts that were transferred only have email address.

Hi everyone. New iPad 2 for Christmas. When I transferred contact to the iPad, I only got some of my contacts. In the contacts that I did transfer, the contacts only have the email listed. No phone numbers, birthdays, etc. Is it possible to correct this as I would like to have all the same contact lists on my iPhone and iPad?

Do the numbers still exist in your google contacts?
Google recently terminated support for new configurations of gmail using Exchange Active Sync for unpaid accounts. In theory, existing configurations will continue to work, but there have been some problem reports.
I've seen several mentions of the problem you describe in the last few days and so far, they've gone unresolved as far as I can tell. The root cause may be in google's termination of AES support.
Facebook contact sync may also be a suspect.

CAN CONTACT LIST BE TRANSFERRED TO LG3?

Yes, if you had a Google account on the last phone (Android) then it will automatically populate the G3.  Or, you can export your contacts to you cloud service or to your computer and then upload that file to you Google contacts in Gmail as an import.

  • Help transferring contacts from iPhone4 5.01 to Mac without duplicating contacts on either or both lists

When I connect my iPhone running 5.01 to my mac vie iTunes, and transfer contacts, it always duplicates the contacts when synching.
So if I have a single John Doe entry on both my iPhone and Mac, I now get two.
Sometimes it will make 3 or 4 copies.
    I want to:
copy my contact list from my iPhone TO my Mac, and update existing entries on my mac, and add new ones that are on my iPhone and not on the Mac, and
transfer contacts from Mac to iPhone that are new to the iPhone
Basically, I have to separate contact lists that I dont want to mix or mesh entirely, and I also want to stop them from duplicating.
The User Manual does not address keeping them from duplicating.
    Thanks in advance

Well, there appears to be NO way to get it to stop doing what its doing.
I have one contact list on my iPhone.
I have a different list on my MacBook pro.
When I connect to update items on my phone via iTunes, I back up the iPhone.
I did my update, and then restored from the backup. That brought back in my iPhone contact list.
However, when I go to put my apps and music, books, etc back on my phone from iTunes on my Mac, I either have to bring my contact list off my mac over and it adds entries to the iphone contact list, or I choose not to sync contacts, and it erases them altogether.
If someone has a suggestion how I can keep my original iPhone contact list on my iphone, without having itunes either wipe it or add unwanted entries from my macbook pro, I'd appreciate it!

  • Transfering exchange contacts to my iphone contact list?

I have an exchange account I need to delete off my phone, but I want to save some of the contacts to my iphone contact list before I delete the exchange account, is this possible?  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

The ideal method would be to export them as VCF files using a computer.
If you only have access to the Server on your iPhone, you can individually open each one and Share it to yourself by text or email.

  • Is it possible to keep Contact List and Address Book seperate on iPhone?

I just made the switch today- big time – from Motorola to iPhone, and from PC to iMac, plus a Macbook Air as well for travel. Thanks to iphone and Mac forums I have been able to resolve most newbie issues and have exported my data, files and contacts without problem.
However there is one issue I have not been able to resolve or clarify:
    - My old phone contact list has now been transferred my new iPhone, consisting of about 100 phone numbers which I use regularly.
    - Address Book in my new iMac contains about 800 contacts including phone numbers, clients, etc, as well as personal bank account numbers, and other confidential data in the “Notes” field, which I need to refer to only occasionally.
But I understand that if I sync my iPhone with my Mac, it will merge my Address Book contacts on Mac, with the phone contacts on my iPhone Contact list, into one list. Is this true? Is it not possible to maintain 2 separate Apps on my iPhone, i.e
    1. The iPhone Contact list for frequently used telephone contacts, and
    2. The Mac Address Book with more detailed notes and account numbers, which I only need to refer to occasionally?
    3. If this is possible, can I configure it so that a password is required each time the Address Book on iPhone is accessed? (I realise I can configure the iphone to require a pin when turned on), but I would like a password to access the Address App because of the confidential data. Previously I had all this data contained on a Palm Zire 72 handheld and its PC Desktop counterpart, where a password was required to access.
From what I’ve read on the forums, it will be very cumbersome to have a phone contact list with 1000 names on it, so I want to keep phone contacts simple with phone numbers only. (I realise I can set up Group folders in Address Book, but this is not what I need). I'm also concerned about having confidential information on my iPhone which can be accessed without a password for that particular application. I intend to get MobileMe but that also does not address the issue of keeping Telephone Contacts seperate from Address Book on iPhone.
Any help would be much appreciated!

    Speculating:
if, as already suggested, you use the Groups function to sync only the 100 contact list numbers, then how to get the expanded Address Book?
I've not used it myself, but Bento might be worth looking into--Bento on the Mac pulls your Address Book data (I'm pretty sure) and syncs to Bento iPhone.
I don't recall hearing about any alternate phone books, but since pretty much any program on the Mac can hook into the Address Book, you might look at the more powerful note organizers to see if any of them pull that data?
You might have a problem getting notes added on the phone back into Address Book on the Mac, though.
I actually right now keep my main address book in MS Entourage (similar to Outlook), and only use the Mac Address Book to sync to the iPhone. I could sync Entourage to Address Book, but I don't--haven't sorted out the data yet, and I don't really need all the same numbers in both places.
If that sounds possible, you might look at Mark/Space and Missing Sync for iPhone---something like keeping all 800 contacts in Entourage, and syncing them all, but moving the confidential portion of each contact into Entourage Notes and syncing those via Missing Sync, perhaps might work. (I think you can link a contact to a note in Entourage)
An interesting problem. You might also send feedback to Apple:
    http://apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
as this is really not a usage scenario they've planned for. They probably don't care, though--doesn't seem all that common.
