Transferring contacts from a backup to outlook

Alright here is my problem:
I backed up my old phone to my computer and now I want to take the contact list from the original backup (I don't have the contact list on my phone anymore) and back it up outlook or my new device. My new device won't let me do it in advanced backup, everytime i try, it appears as a shaded out, unclickable option.
I will be fine with it being an excel document or on outlook or something.. I just basically want my contacts back ASAP
Thanks

Hello,
You'll probably have to look for a 3rd party IPD reader. The backup files (*.IPD) are designed solely for backup/restore of a BB...not for transfer of the data anywhere else. But some 3rd party apps have broken through them and figured out how to extract the data. I suggest you search (your favorite search engine) for IPD file readers and then select one to do what you desire. But...I also suggest that you well protect that IPD file...you never know what might happen to it with some 3rd party app.
Good luck!

  • Problem transfering contacts from N97

    hi
i am transfering contacts from N97 to outlook. I used the ovi to syncronize the contact from N97 to outlook 2007. when i checked the outlook contacts. All english names are showing fine. But arabic name shows not correct way? how could i solve this, but my n97 shows all arabic contact in a right way? and my outlook , is supported by arabic too.

You can try to copy out a single contact as vCard and import it into Outlook. vCard will encode the names in utf-8 Unicode correctly.

  • How do I transfer contacts from a backup to iPhone?

I just restored my iPhone as a new phone. I have a backup saved in my computer, not in iCloud. So my question is: how do I transfer contacts from that backup to my newly restored phone, and ONLY the contacts, nothing more (that's the whole point of my restoring my phone as a new phone).
I don't know if all of that makes sense, but if someone knows how to do that, please help me, I can't afford to lose those hundreds of contacts.

Download a free copy of ibackupbot for your computer and try it.  If you think it is what you want you have to pay $30

  • How can I get my contact from my iphone to outlook 2007? I only get one contact.

I have been everywhere and can not find helpful information. I had to replace the harddrive on my computer and I can not get the contact from my phone to outlook. The only one that will transfer is a new on that I just added.

Is your new phone another iPhone?
If so, just sync them via iTunes from the contact manager you were syncing your old iPhone to.

Not possible, the current version of iTunes only allows syncing via iCloud which the 3G does not support.

After an erroneous contacts delete on the mac, they've been removed from iCloud and all the synced devices.
I was able to restore the contacts from a backup, but since the iCloud version is newer than the backuped one, they are deleted every iCloud sync.
Now I have an iPhone with the contacts and iCloud deactivated, but I lost all the contacts on the Mac and the iPad.
There is a way to tell iCloud "restart using the contacts I have on this device"?

An iCloud backup will save the state of your Camera Roll at the time of the backup but, if you delete photos from the Camera Roll, they will not be in the next backup taken.
If you are using the iCloud Photo Library (beta) read this FAQ which will tell you what happens when you delete photos from one of the devices sharing the Photo Library.
iCloud Photo Library beta FAQ - Apple Support
    The relevant section is:
How does iCloud delete photos and videos from iCloud Photo Library?
Deleting a photo or video from your Photos app will also remove the item from iCloud Photo Library and from your iCloud storage allocation. Photos and videos you remove can be recovered from the Recently Deleted album for 30 days. After 30 days, your content will be removed from the Recently Deleted album. Photos are backed up on our servers for up to 30 days after they're deleted from the Photos app. If you need to recover these photos during that time, contact Apple Support.

my iphone got damaged and i want my contacts from icloud backup onto my windows pc ,please help

You can't access your iCloud backup from your PC.  You'll have to export your contacts from icloud as a vCard, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH3606, which can be imported to Google then exported as a CSV file that can be imported to your PC.

  • Transfering Contacts from Windows XP (Outlook 2007) to MacBook Pro

How would you recommend that I transfer my contacts from Outlook 2007 to Address Book on Mac?
Is there a file format that I can export my contacts in outlook to and then easily import them into Address Book?

    Hi
The best solution I can recommend is called Outlook2Mac.

  • Transfering Contacts FROM iphone

Hello everyone. My contacts on Yahoo are severely outdated.
Currently, I have contacts sync-ing set to 'off'.
I would like to transfer my contacts from my iPhone to Yahoo.
But I am afraid that my iPhone contacts will be lost.
I have read that when there is information on the iPhone and Yahoo address book, that iTunes simply merges everything. In that case, shall I delete everything but ONE entry in Yahoo and then perform a sync?
What happens if I delete EVERYTHING on Yahoo and perform a sync?
    Thanks!

I suggest syncing contacts with a supported application on your computer first so that you have a fall back.
With XP, this can be with the address book used by Outlook Express. If you haven't used this address book and it is empty, enter on contact in the address book before syncing. This will provide a merge prompt when syncing contact info which you want to select.
When syncing with your Yahoo online address book which includes contact info, contact info between the two will be merged. If you want to replace all online contact info, delete all online contact info first except for one contact. If something goes wrong or doesn't turn out like you wanted, you have a backup of sorts on your computer with the address book used by OE. You can replace all iPhone contact info with the OE contact info via the iTunes sync process, but you can't do the reverse.

  • Transferring contacts from 6680 to 6288

Content Copier v3.0, PC suite 6.82.22.0, WinXP SP2. Contacts from source phone 6680 look fine when viewed in PC Suite. Make Backup file. Connect USB cable to new 6288 and Restore from Backup file. All contacts are listed on new phone but about 60% have no telephone numbers on the target phone. Has anybody encountered this? I know I can bluetooth them one at a time, but it will take forever...

    Hi,
Try this: Synchronise contacts from 6680 to Outlook by using PC Sync. Then sync those to you from outlook to 6288.
    -> does it help??

  • Transferring contacts from Droid 3 to zoom tablet

Anyone know how to do it?

    chump
I will need a little more information from you in order to assist with getting your contacts on your new Xoom.
Where are you trying to transfer the contacts from? (phone, computer)
If you previously had another Verizon device that had Back Up Assistant, then you can go to this link that will give you instructions on how to transfer either from another Verizon phone that had BackUp Assistant.
If your contacts are stored in Outlook then you can import the contacts and then sync them to G-Mail
So as you can see, we can help, we just need to know where your contacts are currently stored so we can get them on the Xoom!

  • I am transferring contacts from my old iphone to my new iphone 4. The screen has had 'restore in progress' on the screen for 20 hours now with time remaining going backwards. Is this normal? Should I let it go on?

I am setting up my new iphone4 and am trying to transfer all of the contacts etc from my old iphone 3GS.After linking it with itunes the screen has shown 'restore in progress' for almost 24 hours with time remaining going backwards. Is this normal? Should I let it continue?

No, that is not normal. I guess you are trying to restore from the latest backup created by your old 3GS?

  • How can I recover ONLY contacts from a backup in iTunes?

I had to change my company email in my iPhone 4 mail box, in this change I also brought the contacts from the new exchange group, which I though would only bring the email contacts. It happens that it substituted my phone contacts and now I don't have my friends phone number in the contacts anymore. I have a backup in iTunes ( from 2 months ago) and I would like to bring back ONLY my contacts. As long as I know if I bring back a backup it will overwrite everything, messages, pictures... and I don't want that. Is there a way of solving this not using third party software? I found some third party software that could to do what I need, but in order to recover the contacts I need the paid version. I wonder if apple has a solution for this issue. Thanks for any tip!

a phone backup cannot be used on an ipad.
if all you want is your contacts, sign in to icloud from the same apple ID you wre using on the phone.

    Hi Friend,
If it's possible to export contacts from Blackberry to the SIM card, then you can place that SIM card into iPhone and import them to iPhone (settings>>mail, contacts, calendars>>import contacts from the SIM Card.
    Hope it helps
